Chapter 4 Welcome to Republic City
Its been 13 years since Ghost first arrived at the South to train Korra for Godzilla's request.
And since the White Lotus was forbidden from training her since they lost the right after so many incidents but were tasked with keeping Zaheer and his group under close eye.
And since Unalaq had his reputation and Position compromised for his own actions and his son's face getting half burned off so bad because of Godzilla destroying the palace.
Since then Ghost had trained Korra in the elements and taught her things that had been lost for so many years.
As for Korra herself she had gotten close to her protector and teacher since she turned 13 having developed feelings for him since he always made sure she was well trained and had a good normal life when not training with her family.
Right now She was doing her finale fire bending test to see how far she's come in 13 years.
Ghost sat down on the ground watching her as she destroyed several training dummies easily before she blasted the last one into the air.
Another thing Ghost had done was help her become more wise and patient and understanding having washed any arrogance out of her mind since she had some when she started training.
"WHOO-HOO!" Korra cheered making Ghost chuckle. "How was that?" Korra asked as he stood up.
"You've come a long way from the little girl who bumped into me 13 years ago." Ghost said making her grin before looking behind him.
"Uh oh." Korra said.
"What?" Ghost asked turning around and frowned seeing Several members of the White Lotus. "And what do you think you're doing here?" Ghost asked.
"We're here to take the Avatar to our compound for proper training. It's obvious your training isn't working and you are slowing her down from true greatness such as ours. Now stand aside."
"So you think my training means nothing? Huh. Korra? Would you like to show them what you've learned in the last 13 years?" Sean asked making her grin.
"She hasn't learned anything."
That was until Korra created a Water serpent like Ghost could make and it roared at them much to their shock.
"You were saying?" Ghost asked as Korra grinned.
"Your gifted in water so clearly you taught her what you knew. But the other elements..."
Korra pulled out a chunk of Earth before it turned into Lava and went at them making them scream in shock as they dodged it making Korra giggle before she pulled some metal from a wall and started metal bending easily even making a sword.
"Ta Da." Korra said.
"Ok...So maybe you..."
"Fire." Ghost said before she created a swirl of fire in a rainbow of colors just like how Aang and Zuko saw the true Fire masters do decades ago much to their shock. "Lightning." Ghost said making her shoot it up in the air. "And Air." Ghost said before she started airbending since he made sure to switch from more than just one element teaching to help her learn faster. "And now flying." Ghost said before she flew in the air like the famous Guro Laghima did thousands of years ago.
The White Lotus was shocked beyond words that Ghost had trained her so well.
"Be gone." Ghost said making them leave to lick their wounds of another crushing defeat. "Fools." Ghost said making Korra giggle.
"That was fun." Korra said.
"I've taught you well in the last 13 years. Like I said...You'll be greater than the First Avatar." Ghost said making her smile. "Now...Tenzin is going to help you finish your airbending training and your spiritual training." Ghost said.
"When is he gonna be here?" Korra asked.
"In about 2 days." Ghost said making her grin.
Soon the two were at the cliff where Korra first met Godzilla long ago.
"I'm proud of you Korra. You've come a long way since you were a little girl." Ghost said making her smile.
"I had a good teacher and protector. Thanks for everything." Korra said making him smile placing his arm around her.
Days later
Ghost and Korra waited where they would arrive before they spotted Tenzin arriving on his Sky Bison Oogi before he landed.
"You seem excited." Ghost said.
"Oh you have no idea." Korra said before seeing Tenzin's kids Jinora, Ikki and Meelo with the later pulling Tenzin's ears making them chuckle
"Mother...PLEASE help me." Tenzin begged making her laugh as she picked up her grandson.
"UNHAND ME STRANGE WOMAN!" Meelo yelled.
"Thats your grandmother, Meelo." Tenzin said before Meelo jumped away before landing in front of Ghost and Korra making him look up at Ghost
"Yes?" Ghost asked.
"Are you an assassin?" Meelo asked making him and Korra laugh
"Why would someone ask that?" Ghost asked making Korra giggle.
Tenzin was helping his wife down and both saw she was clearly pregnant in the late stages.
"I'm not helpless, Tenzin. I've done this before." Pema said before Katara placed her hand on her large stomach.
"The baby's strong. I sense another airbender in your future." Katara said making her moan in disappointment.
"All I want is one child like me, A nice, non-bender who doesn't blast wind in my face every five seconds." Pema said making Ghost scoff.
"Should have thought of that when she married an airbender." Ghost said making Korra giggle.
"Mommy, look. I'm a snow bender!" Meelo said airbending the snow getting some on her making Ghost and Korra chuckle before she shook it off.
"Were Tenzin and his siblings this crazy when they were this age?" Pema asked.
"Kya and Bumi certainly were. But Tenzin has always been rather serious." Katara said remembering his childhood.
"Mother, please." Tenzin said before looking behind her seeing Korra and Ghost. "Korra?" Tenzin asked making her smile as she approached them. "Look at you. So big and strong. Ghost has turned you into a very powerful young Avatar." Tenzin said.
"And she's still got a long way to go." Ghost said placing his hand on her shoulder making her smile.
"Master Tenzin, I'm so glad. you're here. I can't wait to get started." Korra said.
"Yes, well..." Tenzin trailed off.
"Your gonna have to tell her eventually." Pema said.
"Tell me what?" Korra asked.
"Whats going on?" Ghost asked.
"You're not staying are you?" Katara asked.
"I'm afraid not. We're only staying for the night. Then I have to return to Republic city." Tenzin said.
"But, no, You're supposed to move here. You're supposed to teach me." Korra said.
"I'm sorry, Korra. Your airbending training is going to have to wait." Tenzin said.
Later
Everyone was at Ghost's home discussing the problem.
"Why come out here if you're not gonna teach me?" Korra asked
"I'm sorry I thought I could but things in Republic City aren't looking good." Tenzin said.
"What do you mean?" Korra asked.
"He means its infested with crime since Aang passed." Ghost said pouring her some tea while he had a stronger drink. "After Aang passed Gangs become more and more common." Ghost said.
"I'm afraid he's right." Tenzin said.
"So is Ghost just gonna teach me then?" Korra asked.
"No, I'm still gonna teach you I just need more time to get the situation under control. Gangs aren't the only problem. Theres inequality between Benders and Non-Benders." Tenzin said.
"Well, then let me come along. You can train me and do your job there. It sounds like a Good idea." Korra said.
"She does have a point. We can't keep her here forever since she's near the end of her training." Ghost said.
"I wish it was that simple truly I do. But nows not the time." Tenzin said.
Later
Tenzin and his family left early morning.
Korra however decided to to leave to head to Republic City.
Currently she was getting Naga's gear.
"Nice night for an escape isn't it?" Katara asked making her freeze before turning and saw her.
"I have to leave. I have to find my own path as the Avatar." Korra said making her smile.
"I know you do." Katara said making her smile. "Aang's time has passed. My brother passed last year and many of my friends are gone. It's time for you and your generation to help the titans bring back Peace that hasn't been seen in so long. And I know you'll be a great Avatar just like Ghost taught you. And Godzilla would be proud." Katara said making her smile as she hugged her.
"Thank you." Korra said.
"Goodbye, Korra." Katara said.
Korra got Naga out of her kennel.
"Not gonna say goodbye?" Ghost asked making her face him seeing his amused look on his face.
"I can't stay here anymore." Korra said.
"I know. I knew one day You'd have to leave here." Ghost said.
"Come with me. You can still teach me." Korra said smiling.
"I will. But not yet. I got some things to take care of. Mainly making sure my home is secured so no thief comes and tries to take my stuff." Ghost said before holding her close making her smile. "I'll be there soon enough. Just be on the island." Ghost said.
"Thank you...For everything." Korra said before going to her parents.
"Oh one last thing." Ghost said before Fawkes appeared before landing on Korra's shoulder in a smaller form making her smile. "This way I know your in good hands." Ghost said as she ran off to her parents.
Arriving at her home she hugged her parents.
"Mom, Dad, I'll miss you." Korra said.
"We love you so much." Senna said.
"Isn't Ghost going with you?" Tonraq said.
"He's gotta make sure no one can get into his home and take his stuff since theres things there that shouldn't fall into the wrong hands." Korra said before she got on Naga and rushed away.
Arriving on a ship she leaned on Naga with a smile before she heard a familiar bellowing making her widen her eyes before rushing to the window and smiled seeing Godzilla's spikes coming out of the water before diving back down making her smile.
Next Day
Korra slowly began to wake up before she saw it was daylight making her smile.
"Naga we're here." Korra said as the doors opened up blinding her with light before she and Naga rushed off. "Thanks for the Ride." Korra said before Naga ran off.
Korra was taken back by the beauty of the place.
"Wow. Look at this place. I've never seen so many Sato-mobiles before." Korra said before looking a the Water seeing a statue of Aang making her smile before she looked to the right seeing a bigger statue of Godzilla making her giggle. "Someone is gonna have a massive ego the size of of his body when he sees this." Korra said before she looked at Air temple island. "Thats where Tenzin lives. Ready for a little swim, girl?" Korra asked before she sniffed the air and rushed off.
"Okay, Okay. Food first then Airtemple...WATCH IT NAGA!" Korra yelled as she ran into Traffic. (I always love this part)
Naga ran through various cars and People with Korra apologizing before they reached a food stand with Naga about to take a bite.
"Naga, wait." Korra said making her whine as Korra got off and approached the owner. "We'll take one of everything." Korra said taking one.
"That'll be 20 Yuans."
This made Korra look sheepish.
"Uh, I don't have any money." Korra said making her mad before snatching it.
"THEN WHAT GOOD ARE YOU TO ME!"
This made her sigh before she and Naga walked off with the later whining.
"Don't worry Girl. We'll find some grub." Korra said.
Later
Korra, Fawkes and Naga were at the park with the later hunting for fish while Korra had her own and fried them with firebending.
As Korra was about to eat some she spotted someone in the bushes making her raise an eyebrow.
"Can I help you?" Korra asked .
"Think I can have one of them tasty smelling fishies?"
"Knock yourself out." Korra said as he took one. "You don't live in that bush do you?" Korra asked.
"Yes I do call that home."
"Well, I guess Ghost wasn't wrong when he said not everyone lives the life of luxury." Korra said.
"Eh its not so bad."
Thats when a whistle went off before a park officer rushed to her.
"STOP! You can't fish here!"
"See ya!" Korra yelled getting on Naga and rushed off.
Walking through the park Korra suddenly heard a loudspeaker.
"Are you tired. of living under the tyranny of benders? Then join the Equalists. For too long, the bending elite of this city have forced non-benders to live as lower-class citizens. Join Amon, and together we will tear down the bending establishment." The Peasant said.
"Oh come on. You can't seriously tell me all Benders are bad." Korra said.
"Oh yeah? Let me guess? You're a bender?" The Peasant said.
"Way to state the obvious Virgin." Korra said making people snicker while he glared.
"And I'd bet you'd just love to knock me off this platform with some waterbending huh?" He taunted.
"No." Korra said shocking him not getting the answer he wanted. "I was taught by someone never to misuse my bending. Your just doing this to get attention since you were clearly deprived of it." Korra said making people see the same before walking away.
"No! Wait! Please listen!" The Peasant said before falling to his knees.
"Loser." Korra said running off with Naga.
Entering a shopping district she approached a woman.
"Excuse me? I think I'm lost. How do I get to Air temple Island?" Korra asked.
"Just take this road and..."
Thats when a costume made car appeared making her freeze.
"You best get out of here. It isn't safe."
Korra raised an eyebrow before seeing Three thugs harassing an old man.
"Give me the money or else..."
"Or else what?" Korra asked making them face her before laughing.
"Since you're clearly fresh off the boat, Let me explain a couple things. You're in triple threat triad territory, and we're about to put you in the hospital." The Leader said before Korra earthbended them into the ground much to their shock before the Earthbender yelled feeling his hands crushed preventing him from escaping.
"It's guys like you that make benders look bad." Korra said before metal cables wrapped around her much to her shock before seeing the police.
"You are under arrest."
"You gotta be kidding me." Korra said annoyed.
Later
Korra sighed as she listened to the Chief of Police who was Toph's daughter Lin.
"You are in a whole mess of trouble young lady." Lin said.
"There were some thugs attacking a Shop keeper. What would you want me to do? Let them?" Korra asked.
"Call the Police next time." Lin said.
"I'm the Avatar. I'm supposed to help people. Thats my job. What is your problem anyway?" Korra asked.
"My problem is you're gonna attract that thing here." Lin said confusing her.
"Thing? What are you talking about?" Korra asked.
"That Giant Lizard." Lin said.
"Godzilla? What is your problem with him? He's a hero." Korra said.
"Not in my view. He and all those other monsters deserve to be put down." Lin said before Korra freed herself before slamming her face down making her groan as she was surprised she could metal bend.
"You wanna repeat that to my face?" Korra asked.
"Thats enough, Korra." Tenzin said walking in. "Lin we talked about this. The Titans are our best chance against the Kaiju. And your not gonna do anything against them or you'll be suspended." Tenzin said as he and Korra left while Lin glared.
"The hell is her problem?" Korra asked as they were getting Naga.
"Lin believes the Titans should be put down because she believes we don't need to rely on monsters. The rest of the world feels the same way as you do. The see them as heroes and leaders waiting to for them to lead them back to greatness. But you shouldn't be here." Tenzin said.
"Katara and Ghost agreed I should come. They said my destiny is in Republic City." Korra said.
"DON'T BRING MY MOTHER INTO THIS!" Tenzin yelled.
"Look. I can't wait anymore. How am I supposed to be a great Avatar if I'm stuck in one place all my life. I saw the problems in this city. You're right you need to be here. But it also needs me too." Korra said making him sigh.
"Is this your polar bear dog and Bird miss?" A man asked before Naga licked his hair making Korra giggle.
Later Tenzin was taking Korra to the Island to board a boat when he looked at his father's statue making him sigh before looking at her seeing her look at the city.
Arriving at the island docks she saw members of the White Lotus making her sigh about to go with them before Tenzin's kids landed in front of her.
"Korra!" They yelled before hugging her making her smile.
"Are you coming to live on the island with us?" Ikki asked.
"No. I'm sorry, Ikki. I have to go." Korra said.
"Aw." Ikki said before she walked to the White Lotus.
"Wait." Tenzin said stopping her. "I have done my best to guide Republic City towards the dream my father had for it. But you are right. It has fallen out of balance since he passed. I thought I should put off your training in order to uphold his legacy, but you are his legacy. You may stay and train airbending here with me." Tenzin said making her smile.
"Yes! Thank you. You're the best." Korra said as the kids cheered before she pulled them and Tenzin into a large hug making Tenzin sigh.
Next day
Korra was in front of a crowd of Reporters who asked her questions.
Lin however was talking with Tenzin.
"She shouldn't be here. She's gonna attract that monster and..." Lin tried to say.
"DROP IT!" Tenzin said shocking her. "This is your last warning. Let it go. You're one of the only few who view the Titan so negatively." Tenzin said making her growl.
"All I know is Avatar Aang meant for this city to be the Center and balance in the world. And with Godzilla and the other Titans returning...I know that dream will be closer than..." Korra tried to say before a vicious roar was heard making everyone look seeing a large Kaiju coming out of the breach and roared at the City making people start to panic.
"I told you..." Lin tried to say before a familiar tail smacked it away.
Everyone looked and widened their eyes seeing Godzilla who roared at the Kaiju and stood in front of the City.
"You monsters never learn." Godzilla said before the Kaiju roared and charged at him before jumping on him and started to pound his fists into his face making Godzilla roared before a large claw punctured his shoulder making Godzilla roar louder before breathing Atomic breath at it blowing the head right off before throwing it off and roared in the air as the people cheered.
"See my point? I knew she would bring that thing here." Lin said.
"Quiet." Tenzin said making her frown before they heard Godzilla groan as he arrived at Aang's island before falling over making Korra gasp before she flew to him.
"I didn't know she could fly." Tenzin said surprised.
Korra landed on the island seeing Godzilla's breathing was normal.
"Must have been a serious wound." Korra said before Godzilla's body started to glow which shocked her before he began to shrink before a large crater was seen making her rush in before hearing a groan making her look and saw.
"Ghost?" Korra said seeing him in the Rubble before he saw her.
"Oh...Heh. I got some explaining to do don't I?" Ghost asked making her cross her arms.
Later
"This whole time. You were Godzilla." Korra said as they sat down with Tenzin and his family.
"Not exactly. You're speaking of two individuals." Ghost said.
"Huh?" Korra asked before she swore his eyes glowed yellow like Godzilla's.
"Perhaps I can explain this better." Godzilla's voice in Ghost's body said shocking them.
"Godzilla?" Korra asked.
"Indeed. Allow me to explain this in a more simple view. I am sealed within his body and when needed I can take control when I need to at will. And I can turn into my body and take control as can he. We share both mind and Body. He can control his Body when it's needed and so can I. And I can take control of my body when threats like the Kaiju show up and he can take control when he knows he needs to." Godzilla said.
"Oh I get it. It's a Symbiotic relationship." Jinora said.
"Very smart for one so young." Godzilla said making her Grin before Ghost took control.
"And its been that way for some time." Ghost said.
"So Ghost...How did..." Korra tried to ask.
"You can stop calling me that by the way. My name Is not actually Ghost. My name Is Sean Ashburn Kruger. And I am 30,000 years old...Born 16 years before the Kaiju war." Sean said shocking them as he took off his hood showing his face. He had white skin brown hair and forest green eyes.
"You were from the golden years when Titans ruled?" Tenzin asked.
"Yup. I was a what was known as a scientist back in those days. I worked on improving technology and many ways. Mostly energy projects. When the War began I was mortally wounded and so was Godzilla. The only way we both would survive was to merge together. And I became the first Bender and Water Bender. Using the power of the Elements we sealed the Breach to insure the Kaiju would never return...Until Sozin's screw up." Sean's said drinking his tea.
"Godzilla mentioned the Kaiju's return was his fault. How is that?" Tenzin asked.
"The barrier is powered by the elements. The power Benders let off. It needs all four. And because of his selfish actions against the Airbenders." Sean said.
"The barrier weakened." Korra said.
"Yeah. I told him what his actions brought. He died of a heart attack from the stress of it all. Sentenced his soul to hell to be tortured for all eternity. He deserves worse if you ask me." Sean said.
"Thats also how you knew what you trained me. You were around for all that time learning." Korra said.
"Mostly. I wasn't lying when I said I studied under the Titans. I did study under them. That flying ability you love so much came from Air based Titans. Goru Laghima believed in being detached from the world was the key. It worked but that wasn't really true. You don't have to become detached. You do it by focusing on what you love." Sean said making her smile.
"But...Shouldn't you and Godzilla have separated?" Tenzin asked as Godzilla took over. That became apparent when his eyes turned from Forest green to Yellow.
"We decided to remain as we are. We have become close you see and there are benefits to our union. Where as I am the wisdom and the Power he is the brains and strategy. And we are not the only ones in this position. There are six others like us." Godzilla said before Sean took control.
"Those friends you were visiting when I was four." Korra said.
"Yup. I told them what happened when Unalaq tried to take you. They understood why I couldn't come around anymore for your safety." Sean said making her smile.
After that Sean was outside looking at the stars.
"Sean?" Korra said walking to him before sitting down next to him.
"Something you need?" Sean asked before she hugged him.
"I just wanted to thank you...Both of you for you've done for me these last 13 years." Korra said making him smile.
"I'd do anything for you Korra." Sean said holding her close as they watched the stars.
Meanwhile
Inside a secret base people were listening to the Radio before someone turned it off.
"Amon...How do you wanna handle this?"
Looking at a map was a man with a mask.
"So...The King of the Titans has a human Host who he's willing bonded to. We may need to change our plans." Amon said.
Authors Note: And with that A whole lot of surprises come out. Ghost AKA Sean is 30,000 years old with Godzilla willingly sealed inside him. Korra is ten times stronger in this story compared to the last three in the beginning of the series and she'll only get stronger. And now we know there are six others with Titans sealed inside them. When will they appear? Will Lin bite off more than she can Chew? What is Amon up to? Find out in later Chapters. I was gonna upload a Family Ties remastered today but I ran out of time.
