Chapter 6 The Revelation
Its been a few days since Korra finally got the airbending moves down in her head after using Pro bending as a method of learning it better.
And since she became part of the Fire Ferrets and was going to be in the championship.
Right now both she and Sean were at the Arena Gym practicing.
"Whats the idea with making me train this early in the morning? The Morning is pure evil from hell." Korra said making Sean snort.
"Funny. I seem to recall a certain young Avatar who early in the mornings would barge into my house and ask for training or just to play." Sean said making her giggle.
"We're the rookies, so we get the worse time slot in the gym so here we are." Bolin said.
"And you're the rookiest of us all. We gotta get you up to speed if we want to survive in the Tournament. Deal with it." Mako said throwing the ball at her making her frown.
"You deal with it!" Korra said throwing it back harder making him groan as he landed on his back.
"Amusing." Godzilla said taking control before Sean did making Korra giggle.
Thats when someone walked in.
"There are my little hardworking street urchins."
Sean looked at him with a raised eyebrow as he walked to them.
"It's an honor to finally meet you Avatar. And the King's host."
"And you would be?" Sean asked.
"Butakha. I run this whole pro bending shebang." Butakha said making Sean and Korra look at each other before shrugging walking away as he pulled out some money. "Here's your winnings from the last game." Butakha said handing it to Mako who smirked about to put it away. "Ah, ah, ah. Not so fast. First, you owe me for the Avatar's new gear, Gym and equipment rentals." Butakha said taking some money.
"Oh boy. I know where this is going." Sean said making Korra snicker.
"And a personal loan for groceries." Butakha said taking the last of it making Mako glare at Bolin.
"What? I'm a growing boy." Bolin said.
"He could have just said all of it was going to pay the bills they owed instead of just giving it and then taking it away." Korra said.
"My thoughts exactly." Sean said.
"Oh and one last item of business. The Fire Ferrets need to ante up 30,000 yuans for the championship pot." Butakha said shocking the brothers.
"30,000 yuans?" Bolin asked shocked.
"Sorry kids. You got until the end of the week to come up with the dough or else your out of the tournament." Butakha said leaving as Bolin looked at Korra and Sean.
"You wouldn't happen to have a secret Avatar bank account overflowing with gold, would you?" Bolin asked making her pull out her pockets.
"I got nothing. But Sean's 30,000 years old so he must have some money." Korra said making him look at her before shaking his head no before Godzilla took over.
"We never required money. We grew, hunted and harvested everything we needed to survive." Godzilla said as Sean took over.
"And the money we do have won't cover that." Sean said making her pout.
"Sorry guys I really wish we could help." Korra said.
"I got an idea. I could use Pabu to perform tricks for people. They would pay big for something like that." Bolin said making Sean snort.
"That might work if you were in a Circus but thats not gonna work out there. We gotta go." Sean said as the two left.
"Well, this sucks." Korra said.
"I know. But you might still get to play. Perhaps you'll find yourself in the graces of someone who will pay for your way in." Sean said.
"You really think so?" Korra asked grinning.
"In my experience anything can happen." Sean said as they left.
Later
Korra was in the airbending training exercise and unlike previous times when she first began to was doing excellent.
"That pro bending event really helped you improve." Sean said making her smile.
"And I had a good teacher who made me as I am." Korra said making him chuckle before Jinora spotted Mako coming up the stairs.
"Ooh, he's cute." Jinora said.
'Oh brother.' Sean thought making Godzilla chuckle.
'I fail to understand how she can think that as a ten year old. Ask me she would...' Godzilla tried to say.
'Ah don't even go there.' Sean said making him chuckle.
"Korra, is that the firebender who drives you crazy?" Jinora asked.
"Does he drive you crazy in a bad way, or does he drive you crazy like you like him?" Ikki asked making her eyes twitch.
"The first without question." Korra said Before sending a wave of water at them making them yell as they got soaked making Sean snicker as Mako walked to them.
"Hey, Mako." Sean said.
"Either of you seen Bolin?" Mako asked.
"No. We haven't seen him since practice. Is something wrong?" Korra asked.
"I don't know. He's got this stupid knack for getting into trouble. See ya later." Mako said about to leave.
"Hold up." Sean said stopping him.
"If Bolin is in trouble we're coming with. We can take Naga and Fawkes." Korra said.
"Who's Naga and Fawkes?" Mako asked.
"Our best friends, and great trackers." Korra said.
Later
The three were on Naga while Fawkes flew above them.
"Your best friends are a Phenix who can do a lot of things and a...Polar bear dog. Somehow that makes perfect sense." Mako said making them chuckle.
"We'll take that as a compliment City boy." Korra said.
Soon enough they were at Central Station seeing various people even kids around.
"Well, this is his usual hangout." Mako said as they got off.
Mako saw a group of kids playing before he approached one.
"You guys see my brother around here today?" Mako asked.
"Perhaps...My memory's a little...Foggy."
Sean snorted in amusement.
'You must be joking.' Godzilla said.
"I miss the days when this city was good when I helped build it." Sean said making Korra blink.
"Wait you helped build this place?" Korra asked.
"Well, duh. How do you think it got like this in the first place?" Sean asked.
"Oh." Korra said.
"Your good, Skoochy. A real pro." Mako said handing him some change.
"Yeah, I've seen him." Skoochy said.
"When?" Mako asked.
"About Noon." Skoochy said.
"And just what in the hell was he doing here?" Sean asked curious.
"He was performing. some kind of monkey-rat circus." Skoochy said making Sean scoff in amusement.
"I tell him it won't work and he's just determined to pull through." Sean said making Korra giggle.
"And then..." Skoochy trailed off holding his hand out making Mako sigh before paying him again.
"Really?" Korra asked making Sean chuckle.
'I certainly hope not all Children in the City are like this.' Godzilla said.
'I very much doubt it.' Sean said.
"And then what? Why'd he leave?" Mako asked.
"Shady Shin showed up and flashed some serious cash. Bo took off with him in his hot rod. The Triple Threats, the Red Monsoons, The Agni Kai's. All the Triads are muscling up for something real big. Now that's all you're getting out of me." Skoochy said running off.
"What's he talking about?" Korra asked concerned.
"If I had to guess all the Gangs are gearing up for war or something of the like." Sean said.
"Yeah and Bolin is about to get caught right in the middle of it." Mako said as they got on Naga and ran off with Fawkes above them.
"Where we heading?" Korra asked.
"The Triple threat Triad's headquarters. Hopefully Bolin's there and nothing's gone down yet." Mako said.
"I took down three of those punks the day I got here. Why would Bolin..." Korra tried to say before Naga chased something. "WHOA NAGA!" Korra yelled before whatever she was chasing went up a street light turning out to be Pabu.
"Thats Pabu." Mako said before Fawkes landed next to Pabu who tried to peck at him while Naga tried to reach him.
"Both of ya knock it off. Pabu is a friend not a snack." Korra said as he climbed down before going to Mako.
"Lets go." Mako said.
Arriving at the place they noticed something was off.
"Something's not right." Mako said.
"Yeah. Where the hell is the security." Sean said as Godzilla took over.
"Perhaps one of the other Triads got here." Godzilla said.
"No. Something else is off." Korra said before opening the door easily. "Door was unlocked." Korra said before they went inside seeing it was a mess.
"Someone broke in here all right. But where is everyone?" Sean asked before they heard engines outside.
Rushing outside they saw several people on bikes before they looked at the truck seeing Bolin and other members of the Triple Threats inside before taking off.
"Bolin!" Mako yelled as they drove off before they got on Naga and rushed after them.
"Who are they?" Sean asked before three of them stopped and threw some rope at Naga's feet making her fall before they jumped off.
Thats when they got attacked.
Sean easily dodged the attacks that were all hand to hand combat without any difficulty before he heard Korra yell holding her arm.
"I can't bend." Korra said.
"Chi blockers! Don't let them touch you!" Sean yelled before leaning back to avoid getting hit before blasting her with water making her groan before he created a massive hand of water before washing them into a wall.
Thats when Godzilla took control and roared at them making them look at one another and ran to their bikes and drove off.
"Smart move." Godzilla said before Sean took control and rushed to Korra who held her arm.
"Never been chi blocked before. Is there a way to prevent that?" Korra asked.
"Sadly no. Not unless you have a Titan inside you. Sorry. Still you did good." Sean said making her smile. "Now who the hell were those guys? They clearly were all non-benders." Sean said.
"Those are the Equalists. Their Amon's henchmen." Mako said.
"Amon? That anti-bending guy with the mask?" Korra asked.
"How do you know him?" Sean asked.
"The day I got here I ran into one of his supporters. He went into a rant to get attention." Korra said as Godzilla took control.
"I always found people like to be rather pathetic. Wanting constant attention as a grown man is childish." Godzilla said as Sean took control.
"On that I agree." Sean said.
"I can't believe Bolin got himself into this mess." Mako said.
"Calm down we'll find him." Sean said.
"And I know where to start looking.
Soon the group arrived at the park and waited for the manchild to show up.
While they were waiting Korra looked at Sean who despite having his hood up looked deep in thought.
"Sean?" Korra asked getting his attention. "Can I ask about your old days before the war?" Korra asked.
"Course." Sean said.
"Did you...Lose anyone special to you?" Korra asked making him sigh.
"I...Lost everything. My friends, My coworkers, My mentors...I lost everything when the Kaiju showed up. No one could have foreseen something like that happening. Since the beginning of Earth's history the Titans were the most powerful beings to ever walk the Earth. Wherever they went...Life followed. Godzilla led them all when he defeated all of them. Of course not every Titan shared his views of other life that existed. Some felt they should do as they pleased with those smaller than them. His answer to that...He destroyed them." Sean said.
"But...Did you lose someone you cared about the most?" Korra asked making him frown.
"I..." Sean tried to say.
"EQUALITY NOW! WE WANT EQUALITY NOW!" The manchild yelled making Korra growl annoyed as Mako woke up.
"Thats him." Korra said as they walked to him.
"It's time for the..." The manchild tried to say before seeing Korra. "It's you again! You cannot silence me Avatar!"
"Oh great still desperate for attention because your parents clearly ignored you." Korra said making people laugh before walking away.
"NO! Don't go! Please!" He begged.
"Pathetic." Godzilla said before Sean took control.
"Oy. Now listen up fuck face. Our friend got snatched by Amon's followers. Where'd they take him and you better answer." Sean said with Water around him.
"Piss off Bender." The manchild said before yelping at the stand was sliced in half before he fell as his fliers went up.
"Perhaps we did not make ourselves clear." Godzilla said taking control as his mouth glowed making him whimper.
"Look I swear I don't know what your talking about. I just pass out fliers."
"I believe you." Godzilla said before kicking him away into the water making him scream. "Normally I don't like harming humans but in this case he deserved it." Godzilla said as Sean took control before grabbing a flier and handed it to Mako.
"Witness the Revelation tonight at 8:00." Mako said.
"Hold up. Check it out on the back." Korra said seeing some maps of different pieces. "I get it. it's a puzzle." Korra said putting them together showing the location.
"Again I have taught you well." Sean said making her grin.
Later
"I do not like these clothes." Sean said wearing regular clothes rather than his usual outfit.
"Just relax." Korra said holding his arm much to his amusement.
Approaching the bouncer he looked at the three.
"This is a Private event. No one gets in without an invitation."
"You mean this?" Sean asked handing him a flyer making him grin.
"The Revelation is upon us, my brothers and sister."
Entering inside they were surprising by the amount of people here.
"I know a lot of people hated benders but I didn't think it was this bad.." Korra said.
"Sadly people have misused the power of the elements for their own gain. And those actions lead to anger and hatred. And a common cause." Godzilla said before Sean took control before they got in the crowd as the lights turned on.
"Please welcome your hero, your savior, Amon!"
The Crowd cheered as Amon and his followers appeared on the stage. Korra looked at him feeling some concern before Sean placed a hand on her shoulder..
"Don't worry." Sean said keeping her calm.
"My quest for Equality began many years ago. When I was a boy, my family and I lived on a farm. We weren't rich, and none of us were benders. This made us very easy targets for the firbender who extorted my father. One day, My father confronted this man, But when he did that firebender took my family from me then he took my face. I've been forced to hide behind a mask ever since." Amon said.
'Why do I feel as though he is not telling the truth?' Godzilla asked making Sean nod.
"As many of you know the avatar has arrived in Republic City." Amon said making people boo which made Sean frown while Korra covered up more. "But so has the legendary King of the Titans. The true protector of mankind who brought greatness to the human race...Until the Kaiju came and ruined everything." Amon said making people shout out at that.
"Well, he's not wrong on that." Sean said.
"I know the Titans gave mankind the power of the Elements as a way to survive. And in the beginning it was clearly needed to insure our survival. But benders have misused the power the Titans gave them for their own selfish purposes. It has been the cause of Every war and every Era. But all that is about to change." Amon said.
'Hmm?' Godzilla asked.
"As people know the Spirits like the Titans have acted as Guardians of our world." Amon said.
'That is not even remotely true.' Godzilla said. Titans and spirits got along sure and during the Golden years coexisted with mankind peacefully. But they never really cared about human affairs.
"They have given me a power. A power to take a person's bending away...Permanently." Amon said shocking Korra.
"Ok now we know he's lying. Spirits don't have that kind of power." Sean said.
"They don't?" Korra asked.
"No. Only Titans can do that." Sean said.
"Hold on." Mako said.
"Now for a demonstration." Amon said as the Triple Threats that were taken were brought out along with Bolin. "Please welcome Lightning Bolt Zolt, Leader of the Triple threat Triad, And one of the most notorious criminals in Republic City." Amon said as people booed him.
"Ah, Boo yourself!" Zolt said.
"Theres Bolin." Mako said about to rush in but Sean stopped him.
"Wait." Sean said.
"Zolt has amassed a fortune by extorting and abusing non-benders, but his reign of terror is about to come to an end. Now, in the interest of fairness as the King would give, I will give Zolt a chance to fight to keep his bending." Amon said as he was let go.
"Your a dead man pal." Zolt said before attacking him.
It didn't take long before Zolt was in Amon's grip before placing his hand on his forehead making him groan before he was let go.
Zolt tried to firebend again but nothing happened making the crowd look in awe.
"What...What did you do to me?" Zolt asked.
"Your firebending is gone...Forever. The Era of bending is over. Now begins an era of True Equality under the rule of the Titans once again." Amon said making the crowd cheer.
Korra felt Sean hold her close as she let out of breath she didn't know she was holding.
"Use lava bending while I make some water." Sean said making her nod before making a large amount of it without being seen as Amon started taking the bending of the Triple threats before Bolin was all that remained.
"Now!" Korra said before both elements hit each other making a large mist startling people as they ran off before Sean and the others got Bolin and bolted.
Rushing out the back they got on Naga before running off before Amon's followers tried to follow.
"Let them go." Amon said stopping them. "They'll be the perfect messengers to tell Republic City of my power." Amon said.
Later
Tenzin was speaking with the White Lotus before Sean and Korra arrived.
"Thank Goodness. I was just about to send out a search party. Are you both all right?" Tenzin asked.
"Physically yes...But we might have a problem." Sean said.
"Whats wrong?" Tenzin asked.
"We saw Amon at one of his gatherings." Korra said.
"What were you doing there?" Tenzin asked.
"Looking for Bolin." Sean said.
"Amon can take people's bending away...For good." Korra said.
"Thats...Thats not possible. Only the Titans and the Avatar have that power." Tenzin said.
"True. But somehow he's learned it. And that makes him dangerous." Sean said.
"I know. I don't know how Amon has achieved such a power...But this means the revolution is more dangerous than ever. No bender is safe." Tenzin said.
Sean later was at the edge of the Island before Korra walked to him.
"You ok?" Sean asked.
"I'll be fine. How do you think he did it?" Korra asked.
"My only conclusion is he's lying about where he got it from. However he achieved it...We have to stop him. Without the power of bending the elements...The barrier blocking the Kaiju will completely shatter...And then we'll be right back where we were 30,000 years ago...Only this time we might not survive." Sean said before she held him close.
Authors note: And with that the Revolution has begun. Amon clearly supports the Titans and believes their rule will bring equality to all but does not support benders. What will happen when they meet face to face? Only time can tell. Now Next Chapter is gonna be very exciting and dramatic. And don't forget to check out my remastered Family Ties story if you will.
