Chapter 7 Voice in the Night
Its been a few days since Republic City learned about Amon's power to take away peoples bending regardless if they were good or bad.
This in turn put everyone on edge both good and bad benders.
Korra was one of them but never said it out loud but Sean and Godzilla could clearly see it.
Currently right now Korra was in her room on Airtemple island asleep.
Thats when she heard running making her shoot awake before Equalists busted in making her growl before she tried to airbend them away before dodging their attacks or at least tried till her arms got tied up and then got chi blocked making her yelp as she fell.
When she was pulled up however she gasped seeing Amon approaching her.
"After I take your bending away. You will be nothing." Amon said reaching for her as her eyes widen in horror.
Korra shot up with a scream as she panted in fear.
"Korra?" Sean asked as he sat up from sleeping against the wall before walking to her and held her close. "Are you ok?" Sean asked as Naga rubbed against her as she held her close.
"Yeah...I just...Had a bad dream is all. Nothing major." Korra said.
"About Amon?" Sean asked making her look away. "You know its nothing to be ashamed of being afraid. It's the most human thing we can have." Sean said.
"I'm fine...Really." Korra said as he held her close.
Next morning
Tenzin was in a council meeting regarding Amon.
"There is a madman running around our beloved city, threatening to tear it apart. We need to create a task force whose sole mission it find Amon and bring him to justice." Tarrlok said.
"Absolutely not. A move that aggressive would only further divide benders and Non-Benders." Tenzin said.
"Tarrlok, I'm inclined to agree with your proposal. But who would even head up such a task force?" A council woman asked.
"It would be my honor and privilege to accept such a duty." Tarrlok said.
"This is just another one of your ploys to gain more power isn't it?" Tenzin accused.
"All I'm trying to do is help. Think back. 42 Years ago, Republic city was threatened by another Dangerous man...Yakone. Your father wasn't afraid to face him head on." Tarrlok said.
"This is a completely different situation. And how dare you compare yourself to Avatar Aang!" Tenzin said angered.
"Amon is not going to stop with the Bending Triads. Eventually he will come for all us benders...Our friends...Our families...Vote for this Task force and I will stop Amon before it's too late. Or there is another option we could use." Tarrlok said.
"And what is that?" Tenzin asked.
"The King of the Titans of course. As keeper of balance and protector of mankind it is his duty to stop criminals such as these." Tarrlok said.
"The King does not pick sides. Even he agreed that People have misused the gifts the Titans gave mankind for countless years for their own selfish purposes. Asking him to fight our battles would only further prove his point mankind cannot lead itself." Tenzin said.
"Then the Task force is the only option. All in favor?" Tarrlok asked before the other three raised their hands before Tarrlok slammed the Gavel and smirked while Tenzin frowned.
Later
Sean was training Korra during the night while listening to Jazz music.
"Man I miss the music from my day." Sean said annoyed making Korra laugh.
"Oh yeah? And what was that like?" Korra asked making him grin.
"Why don't I show you." Sean said pulling out some device in his robes. "Fortunately not all technology from my Era is lost." Sean said placing it in the Radio before some new music played making Korra smile.
"Nice. Whats this called?" Korra asked.
"Cowboy by Kid Rock. I used to love this as a little kid." Sean said making her giggle before taking her hand and spun her around making her laugh before she was close to him making her smile.
Thats when the Radio started acting up.
"I don't think high tech works with low." Korra said.
"No thats not it." Sean said.
"Good evening my fellow equalists." Amon said shocking Korra. "This is your leader, Amon. As you have heard, the Republic council has voted to make me public enemy number one, proving once again that the bending oppressors of this city will stop at nothing to quash our revolution. But we cannot be stopped. Soon eventually Bending will no longer exist and soon the Titans retake their place as the rightful rulers and lead humanity back to the golden years as they did once before." Amon said before the Radio turned back to normal.
Korra had some sweat coming down her face.
"Hey." Sean said getting her attention. "You ok?" Sean asked.
"Yeah...He just puts me on edge." Korra said.
"Don't worry. I won't let him get anywhere near you. I promise." Sean said making her smile.
Later
Tenzin and his family were getting ready to eat.
"We are grateful for this delicious food, for happiness, for compassion and..." Tenzin tried to say.
"I'm not interrupting, Am I?" Tarrlok asked walking in making Sean and Korra look at him.
'Is that not one of the council members of Republic City?' Godzilla asked.
'Yeah, The hell's he doing here?' Sean asked.
"This is my home, Tarrlok. We're about to eat dinner." Tenzin said.
"Good, because I am absolutely famished. Airbenders never turn away a hungry Guest, am I right?" Tarrlok asked making him sigh.
"I suppose." Tenzin said sitting down while his wife frowned making him shrug.
"Oh, you must be the famous Avatar Korra. And Lord Kruger, The Human host of the King. It is truly an honor. I am councilman Tarrlok, representative of the Northern Water Tribe." Tarrlok said.
"It's Just Sean or Kruger. I'm not one for Titles." Sean said plainly as Godzilla took over.
"Nor am I." Godzilla said.
"The People or Republic City feel safer now that all three of you are in the City." Tarrlok said.
'Whats the term humans call for people like this again? Sucker?' Godzilla asked.
'I think you mean Suck-up.' Sean said.
'Yes thats it.' Godzilla said.
"Tarrlok, what do you want?" Tenzin asked having enough of his games.
"Patience, Tenzin. I'm getting to that. As you may have heard, I am assembling a task force. I will strike at the heart of the revolution. And I want both of you to join me." Tarrlok said.
"Really?" Korra asked.
"What?" Tenzin asked annoyed.
"I need someone who will help me attack Amon directly, someone who is fearless in the face of danger, And that someone is both of you. After all...Everyone knows the stories about..." Tarrlok tried to say.
"No." Godzilla said confusing him.
"No what?" Tarrlok asked.
"We are not going to join your task force. You would only prove Amon's point in which case we happen to agree that the bending class take advantage of Non-Benders." Godzilla said.
"That is not true I assure you." Tarrlok said.
"No? Then why is it that the laws from the days when we helped Aang build this city have changed? Back in the beginning the laws were fair to all. But recently the laws have changed and now Non-Benders no longer have a voice. Is there a non-Bender on the council?" Godzilla asked.
"Well...No but..." Tarrlok tried to say.
"Then you prove our point. We gave the power of the elements to help mankind survive after the war against the Kaiju was over. But now they have misused those gifts. The air nation was the only nation to never misuse our gift of Air. The others on the other hand have constantly misused it. Which saddens us greatly. So we will not be joining your task force. Now...Or ever." Godzilla said.
"But the people need their leader to stand up for them." Tarrlok said.
"Are you speaking for all or just benders in general?" Godzilla asked.
"Now look..." Tarrlok tried to say.
"SILENCE!" Godzilla roared making him gasp in shock.
"Easy now." Korra said calming him down.
"Be gone." Godzilla said making him clear his throat.
"And what about you Avatar?" Tarrlok asked.
"I'm gonna have to agree with them. I'm not interested." Korra said.
"I'm not giving up on you three that easily but for now I will respect your wishes. It has been a pleasure." Tarrlok said leaving.
Sean took control before he walked out.
"I'll be right back." Korra said following him.
Sean sighed as he looked to the stars.
"You both ok?" Korra asked making him look at her as Godzilla took over.
"Of course. It angers me he would dare try to have us work for him for his own gains. During my time ruling Mankind and guiding them properly people like him were only found once every 300 years or so. The rest of mankind was perfect when we ruled them the right way." Godzilla said.
"But there were some human leaders right?" Korra asked.
"In a manner of speaking for those who were scientists yes. We let them lead in their quest to further the advancement of science. But not official leaders since we saw mankind is easily corrupted by such power. It mostly depends on the leader in question we place. Thats why we trained other leaders after the war ended to make sure people were treated fair and equally." Godzilla said before Sean took over.
"Regretfully mankind is too easily corruptible from power. The Titans made sure people were properly guided accordingly." Sean said.
"Well...I hope those days are coming back soon." Korra said holding him close.
Next day
Korra was playing with Naga while Sean had Fawkes next to him rubbing his chin as he purred.
Thats when Bolin approached them.
"Hello, fellow Teammate and good friend with Titan king inside him!" Bolin yelled making Sean chuckle in amusement as did Godzilla.
"How you doing Bolin? I certainly you're staying out of trouble." Sean said as Godzilla took over.
"Or next time we'll start charging every time we rescue you." Godzilla joked making him and Korra laugh.
"Of course. Missed you guys at practice this week." Bolin said.
"Yeah, sorry about that." Korra said rubbing Naga's belly.
"Aw, it's all right. We're probably out of the tournament anyway. Unless some money miraculously drops out of the sky by tomorrow. Anyway, reason I came by was to give you this." Bolin said handing her a rose and a cupcake making her snicker.
'See? He's flirting with her.' Godzilla said.
'Oh relax. I can easily tell she's not into him.' Sean said.
"Thanks Bolin. But what is this for?" Korra asked.
"Uh...Oh, I can't remember now. Oh, yeah, now I remember. You guys saved me from Amon." Bolin said.
"Did you expect us to simply leave you and replace you like you were nothing? I think not." Godzilla said making Korra giggle.
"It was no big deal." Korra said.
"Are you both serious? I was totally freaking out when he was coming at me with his creep mask, all, I will take away your bending forever. I mean, that is scary stuff." Bolin said.
"Can't argue with that." Sean said before one of Tarrlok's workers walked to them with a basket of food and sweets.
"Tarrlok sends his compliments and urges you both to reconsider is offer." She said before Godzilla took over.
"Begone insect." Godzilla said glaring at her making her yelp as she ran off.
"Who's this Tarrlok guy? Is he bothering you? Cause I could have a word with him." Bolin said.
"That is not needed. He's simply trying to persuade us to join his task force so it can benefit him. Nothing will work." Godzilla said.
"Oh." Bolin said.
Later
Sean whistled as he arrived back on the island with some food in hand he went and bought for Pema since she was busy.
Walking up the stairs however his eyes twitched seeing a Sato-Mobile with Ikki and Meelo in it pretending to drive.
'That man is annoying me now and thats not easy. Can't he take no for an answer?' Godzilla asked.
'Do I really need to answer that?' Sean asked walking to them.
"Out of the way! We're driving here!" Ikki yelled making them chuckle.
"Oh yes I'm certainly terrified." Sean said before Meelo accidently turned the key turning it on before Ikki hit the gas making them scream as it went forward before Sean stopped it with his palm before breathing Atomic breath into the engine destroying it before pulling them out.
"Sorry." Ikki said.
"Go." Sean said making them run off.
'I miss the days when these things were voice activated and required what you called Biometrics.' Godzilla said.
'That and when they flied.' Sean said.
After dropping the food off to Pema Sean found Korra in the practice ring using her airbending.
"That guy is pissing me off Just as bad as the White Lotus of this era." Sean said.
"Yeah, that guy doesn't know how to take no for an answer." Korra said practicing airbending moves.
"Korra, Are you...Doing all right?" Sean asked.
"Yeah, I'm fine." Korra said as Sean sat down.
"Why don't you take a break?" Sean asked as she sat next to him. "I'm glad you turned down Tarrlok, But I just wanted to make sure your decision was for the right reason." Sean said.
"I'm just really focused on my airbending right now is all." Korra said quickly.
"Are you sure it's not because you're afraid?" Sean asked making her look away as Godzilla took over.
"Being afraid is nothing to be ashamed of. It's something all living beings have. Even Titans. It's the thing that makes us all the same." Godzilla said standing up. "If you want to talk." Godzilla said about to walk away.
"Wait." Korra said making him stop. "I'm terrified." Korra said as Sean took over and sat down next to her. "I'm used to being afraid since that former White Lotus member tried to kill me. And when Unalaq took me away from my parents." Korra said.
"Yeah I remember that. You said you didn't want to be the Avatar anymore." Sean said making her scoff in amusement.
"Yeah...I actually meant that when I said it." Korra said.
"I know. But being afraid is a good thing. And admitting it makes us stronger to face it. I have my own fears. Losing you...And what I have now. And I will not let you suffer through something like losing your bending. That I promise." Sean said making her smile as she held him close knowing she was safe with him around.
Later
Sean and Korra were with Ikki and Jinora looking at the stars when the same woman from before showed up.
"Avatar Korra and Lord Kruger, I have something for you." She said as Korra jumped up.
"It doesn't matter how many gifts Tarrlok sends. We're not joining his task force!" Korra said turning her around with earthbending.
"It's not a gift. It's an invitation."
"To what might I ask?" Sean asked.
"Tarrlok is throwing a gala in your honor. All of Republic city's movers and shakers will be there. The councilman humbly requests your attendance."
'We both know what this is about.' Godzilla said.
'Yup.' Sean said.
Later they arrived with Tenzin's family.
Sean of course was in his traditional clothes before looking at Korra seeing her in more formal clothing making him tilt his head which he noticed.
"Why are you looking at me like that?" Korra asked.
"No reason...I've just never seen you in anything so beautiful." Sean said making her blush before smiling at him before they walked inside seeing the people.
"I can't believe this is for us." Korra said.
"Do not let your guard down. He's up to something and I'm willing to bet these people are nothing but unknowing pawns." Godzilla said before Tarrlok approached them.
"So glad you both could make it. If you'll excuse us, The city awaits its heroes." Tarrlok said leading them away.
Tenzin looked around before he had a look of horror on his face.
"Meelo, No! That is not a toilet! Oh, dear." Tenzin said rushing to him, (Every time!)
However as he went to stop him he noticed Lin with some kind of stone in hand making him frown.
"What is she up to now?" Tenzin asked in concern.
"It is my pleasure to introduce Republic city's most famous industrialist, Hiroshi Sato." Tarrlok said introducing them to said man.
"It's nice to see someone who's making the world like it was in my time...Thought a lot less advanced." Sean said.
"We're all expecting great things from the three of you." Hiroshi said.
'I feel something odd about this one.' Godzilla said.
'Such as?" Sean asked.
'I'm not sure. Perhaps it's nothing.' Godzilla said.
"Hey guys." Mako said approaching them with his brother along with a girl they were not familiar with.
"This is my daughter, Asami." Hiroshi said.
"It's lovely to meet you. Mako told me much about you two." Asami said.
"Not to sound rude or anything but he hasn't said anything about you though." Korra said.
"We just met." Mako said leaving out she crashed into him.
"How'd that happen?" Sean asked.
"Asami ran into him." Bolin said making them chuckle.
"Anyway I got some good news. Mr. Sato has agreed to sponsor our team." Mako said.
"Thats great." Korra said excited.
"Yeah I kinda felt guilty about running into Mako and felt this might make up for it." Asami said.
"Are you sure you let her run into you on purpose to guilt trip her?" Sean teased making them laugh.
"Very funny...Uh oh." Mako said.
"What?" Sean asked before seeing Lin approaching him. "Oh great. What do you want now?" Sean asked.
"To show everyone the kind of monster you are." Lin said showing the stone making him narrow his eyes knowing it. It could reveal memories of the past.
"Where did you get that?" Sean asked glaring at her.
"Doesn't matter." Lin said as it glowed before Sean growled holding his head before memories of his past were revealed.
Everyone saw what looked like a lab as the Kaiju's came through the breach roaring into the air as the building tipped.
A younger Sean looked around seeing the devastation before a fist smashed through the wall making him and his fellow scientists look seeing a Kaiju beofre the building tipped over further before everyone screamed as they fell out to their deaths.
Sean however held onto a girl his age who had white skin neck length black hair and blue eyes holding on for dear life before she slipped from his grasp as he gasped in horror as she screamed.
Sean roared as the memories stopped before he fell to his knees holding his head with a groan.
"Sean?" Korra asked in concern before he started sobbing as she held him before glaring at Lin who scoffed at him.
"Pathetic." Lin said
"The fuck is wrong with you?" Korra asked. "Whats gives you the right to do that?" Korra asked.
"Everyone needs to see the monster he is. Or more accurately the coward he clearly is. He and that abomination inside him need to be put down. Councilman Tarrlok, I'm recommending the Death Penalty again. If you don't approve of it I can approve of it on my own." Lin said.

Suddenly however everyone felt a massive wave of power and deadly killer intent in the room making everyone nervous.
"YOU." Godzilla said enraged as he slowly looked up showing his yellow eyes making her step back. "You have some nerve. You bring back the worst memories of his past. And for what? What has he ever done to warrant such an act of cruelty?" Godzilla asked.
"It's you my issues are with. You're a monster." Lin said.
"Wrong. I actually am more Human than the likes of you. And you will pay for this...WITH YOUR LIFE!" Godzilla roared before turning into his form and smacked her outside.
Lin groaned as she landed outside with her officers she brought before Godzilla in a larger form stepped out growling at them as he glared at Lin in pure hatred.
Roaring he glared at the officers.
"BACK AWAY! She will pay for her actions with her life." Godzilla said.
"TAKE HIM DOWN!" Lin ordered before they fired cables at him but he pulled back easily making them yell as he slammed them down hard before the spikes on his back glowed before blasting atomic breath at them.
Lin's officers yelled as many were thrown back from the explosions but no casualties.
"My actions to kill are only on you. Your officers will survive. Injured for a few days but survive! BUT YOU WILL NOT!" Godzilla roared before blasting her making her dodged before a wave of Water hit her into a wall making her groan.
"I've lived long before mankind crawled out of the mud! And I have guided them accordingly to a path of peace and greatness. BUT YOU! You are a disgrace to your people! You attack someone who has done nothing to you or the City. We even helped build it from the ground up!" Godzilla roared shocking her. "Where do you think the Police came from? It was us who gave that idea to your mother! Your current position is because of us!" Godzilla roared smacking his tail into her making her yell as she slammed into a wall.
"Wait!" Lin yelled.
"I've heard enough from you!" Godzilla yelled as water serpents grabbed her arms and legs making her groan as they began to pull making her grit her teeth.
She screamed in horror however when said arms and legs were pulled off shocking everyone as Godzilla stood above her with a fierce glare.
"How someone like you is Suyin's sister is beyond me. She at least changed and has a human heart. You have...NOTHING." Godzilla said shocking her before he let out a powerful roar right in her face before his spikes glowed and blasted her with atomic breath for a few seconds before it stopped as she whimpered in pain as her whole body was burned before Godzilla snorted before walking away.

"Lin!" Tenzin yelled rushing to her as did everyone else before he saw she was still alive. "Korra I know Sean taught you to heal wounds such as these. You need to stabilize her." Tenzin said.
"Yeah I know how to do that...But I'm not going to." Korra said shocking him.
"Korra this isn't a joke. You need to help her." Mako said.
"After what she just pulled? Making Sean break down from remembering the worst memory of his life? No. She's getting what she deserves. I'm not helping her." Korra said before running off to find Sean.
Before Tenzin could move someone dropped down behind him before approaching them.
"Who are you?" Tenzin asked as he sighed.
"I know the big guy is gonna be pissed I helped but this is overkill."
Meanwhile
Sean sat down on Memorial island holding his face.
The memory Lin made him relive was the day the Kaiju attacked.
Watching as his friends and fellow scientists died in such a horrific fashion.
He wanted nothing more but to forget that day so much.
And the girl he tried to save. The most important person in his life.
"Perhaps now you see my point about Benders." Amon said making him narrow his eyes.
"Leave...Me...Alone." Sean said.
"Even though the Titans gave the power of the elements to man you see even someone who's supposed to keep order misuse her power for her own gain. And turned against you for selfish reasons." Amon said with his followers behind him.
"Last chance. Go away. I'm in no mood." Sean said.
"Surely you must see the time for Benders is over. If the world is to return as it once did 30,000 years ago...Bending must be purged." Amon said as Sean stood up and glared at him.
"I warned you." Sean said before his mouth started glowing before blasting atomic breath at them which they dodged before doing so again.
Korra flew into the air looking for Sean before she saw the atomic breath on Memorial island.
"Oh no." Korra said rushing to him.
Sean continued to blast them with Atomic breath before panting in exhaustion.
One tried to charge right at him as Sean charged up again.
'WAIT!' Godzilla yelled in alarm.
When Sean tried to release it the blast came out the right side of his neck making Sean gasp in shock as he held his neck before falling over.
"So theres a certain number of times you can use that ability. Or perhaps your focus is compromised because of Chief Beifong's actions. No matter." Amon said as his men approached him making him growl.
However suddenly coming out of the water was a serpent who roared at them.
"Manda." Sean said looking at another Titan who roared at the Equalists who froze. (Manda from Final Wars)
"BACK AWAY!" Manda roared before a claw came out of the water with a loud roar showing a large Lobster like Titan.
"Ebriah." Sean said as he roared. (Also Final Wars)
Amon seeing the Titans were protecting the host of their King knew they would not listen.
Thats when a Large Komodo also came out and roared. (Komodo from Godzilla the Series)
"Another Time then." Amon said as he and his followers left.
Sean groaned holding his neck.
"Sean!" Korra yelled landing next to him as he coughed up blood.
"I used too much of my atomic breath." Sean wheezed out.
Thats when they heard Fawkes who flew to them before landing on Sean's shoulder.
"Fawkes." Sean said as Fawkes looked at the wound before tears started dropping on him before healing the wounds quickly before Sean sighed in relief. "Good boy." Sean said before passing out as Korra held him close before Manda lowered himself down before she flew to his head as he went to the Island.
Later
"What the hell!" Korra yelled seeing Lin with her arms and Legs back.
"One of Sean's friends from his Era healed her wounds since he believed this was overkill." Tenzin said.
"Who did that?" Korra asked annoyed.
"Me."
Korra turned seeing a man with a black version of the clothes Sean wore. He had white skin brown hair and Purple eyes.
"Name is Reznov. I hold the Titan Orga." Reznov said.
"I know that one. That one can regenerate skin and missing limbs." Korra said.
"Yeah. I know what she did was fucked up but killing her is not the answer. And he would agree with that as well. Anger leads to actions like this before it becomes regret. She'll get what she deserves." Reznov said.
"She better." Korra said before she left to make Sure Sean was ok.
Laying on his bed Sean sighed as he recovered before Korra walked in.
"You ok?" Korra asked holding his face.
"Physically? Yes." Sean said.
"I know this is none of my business...But the girl you tried to say...She was someone important to you wasn't she?" Korra asked making him nod.
"I loved her." Sean said surprising her. "Her name was Hitomi Yoko. I knew her since we could walk." Sean said.
"And you told her how you felt?" Korra asked.
"I didn't just tell her. She knew that long ago...And I didn't just love her...She was my fiancé." Sean said shocking her. (Remember he was 16 when the War began)
"I didn't know you had someone like that when you were just 16." Korra said now seeing what Kyoshi and Yangchen saw that made him so sad.
"Being engaged at the age of 16 wasn't a big deal so long as you were mature enough. Losing her...Was the Worst day of my life. Not a day goes by where I don't miss her." Sean said as she held him.
"I think she would be proud of you for who've become. A good teacher, Friend, And protector." Korra said as Sean sobbed as she held him close. "Shhh. It's ok." Korra said as Sean sobbed.
Authors Note: Wow this Chapter was just full of surprises and suspense and action if I do Say so. Lin royally messed up by revealing Sean's worst memories to everyone before getting almost killed the King so brutally.
