Chapter 20 The Wedding
It's been a week since Titan City was finally rebuilt using the Transfiguration Matrix to use the rubble of what remained of Republic City to turn it back into Titan City and people flocked to the City by the millions from all over the world.
And putting the test into action to prove mankind could not lead itself elections were held to elect a president even though in truth this person would not have any actual power to see if it would go to his or her head.
Right now Sean and Korra were back at the South.
Slowly Korra woke up with a moan before reaching to grab her Fiancé.
Only to find her bed empty making her sit up.
"Sean?" Korra called out but got nothing before seeing a note on the stand next to the bed before she took it and read it.
'Sorry I couldn't stay but even in my time it's bad luck to see the bride before the big day. See ya tomorrow. Love ya.' Korra read with a smile as she remembered what tomorrow was.
Tomorrow Sean and Korra would be married after six months of waiting.
She was also glad that the White Lotus and Unalaq were banned from entering the wedding since she knew one of the two would cause problems.
And it would be held in the South where she wanted.
Slowly getting up she stretched her arms and legs before standing up and looked down seeing her engagement necklace making her smile as she held it.
"Well, Might as well get showered and dressed before seeing mom and Dad." Korra said getting up to the shower.
Meanwhile
Godzilla swam in the ocean to pass the time.
'Remind me again. Why are we not back in the South?' Godzilla asked.
'It's bad luck to see the bride before the big day. It's something of some tradition to humans before getting married.' Sean said.
'Strange tradition but I suppose it makes sense.' Godzilla said before swimming through a hollow earth point before passing through some portal and appeared in the Fire Nation.
'This is one of those benefits about these hollow Earth portals. It helped us get back to the South when we rescued Korra from Unalaq and Fawkes brought her back.' Sean said.
'True.' Godzilla said as Sean took control and walked to the city.
"Figured I'd find you here." Reznov said walking to him.
"What are you doing here?" Sean asked.
"Oh please. You really think We were gonna let you stay by yourself until tomorrow? Not a chance in hell." Reznov said as David appeared.
"Where the fuck is Turok?" Sean asked.
"Right here." Turok said appearing.
"Welp...At least my day here won't be boring." Sean said.
"Just picture how Tomorrow will be." Turok said.
Meanwhile
Korra smiled as her mother hugged her.
"I'm so proud of you." Senna said making her giggle.
"I'm surprised your both taking this so well since I'm marrying someone who's 30,000 years old and for what happened in his past." Korra said.
"Like I told him. If we had to choose someone for you to be with it would be someone we could trust. And what happened was an accident. Pure and simple." Senna said.
"True." Korra said before looking at Asami and smirked. "So Asami...Hows your time with David?" Korra teased making her choke on her drink.
"Huh?" Asami asked making Julia snicker.
"Oh thats a combo. The smart millionaire dating the smart Comedian who's name alone is ten times more valuable." Julia said.
"We are not dating." Asami said.
"No? Then whats this?" Julia asked pulling out some holographic screen showing the two on a date making her go red in the face while Korra snickered.
"Were you guys spying on us!" Asami asked making Senna giggle while Tonraq chuckled.
"Um...No. Sean and I were just passing by and saw this. What the hell do you see in him?" Korra asked making her sigh before smiling.
"He's understanding...Funny...Smart." Asami listed off.
"If he's so smart why didn't he become a scientist right away?" Jinora asked.
"He said he wanted to do something different for a while before following the family job line. That show of us was proof enough of that." Asami said giggling.
"Yeah those were funny. I'm glad things are back to the way they used to be back then. I'm really surprised by what technology can do." Korra said.
"Where are David and the others anyway?" Senna asked.
"Sean left since even in his time it was bad luck to see the bride before the wedding. I can only assume all of them are with him." Korra said.
"Oh yeah sure. Just hope they're not doing a bachelor party. Hitomi threatened to castrate David and the others if they even tried to put Sean through that." Sarah said remembering how scary she looked when she said it.
"The hell is Bachelor party?" Korra asking making her snicker before Julia whispered in her ear making her frown with her eyes twitching. "If David even thinks of doing that I'll follow through with Hitomi's threat." Korra said making Julia and Sarah giggle.
"Relax. Knowing him he'll make sure David can't even try that or he'll tell Asami. And I doubt she'll be happy about that." Dawn said.
"Oh you got that right." Asami said grinning.
Meanwhile
Sean and the others laughed watching some of David's old videos.
"Ah. Miss these days." Sean said.
"Remember when Hitomi came on at one point for a couple episodes?" David asked making him chuckle.
"Yeah those two times were fun...I miss her." Sean said.
"I know. We all do. But we all know she'd want you to move. I'm surprised it didn't work out with YangChen and Kyoshi...Or maybe it's because Korra like you is a natural Water Bender." David teased making him chuckle.
"Very funny. If anything Korra was a lot like me when she was younger before I got that arrogance out of her. But her heart was always in the right place." Sean said.
"You never said how you two met." Turok said.
"Oh...We found her on a cliff crying because of some jackass in the White Lotus said she'd be a failure because she was a girl." Sean said.
"Oh jeez. Doesn't that just sound fucking familiar." David said annoyed.
"If your thinking about that prick who had an obsessive thing for Hitomi and considered himself my better..." Sean tried to say.
"Course I am. You heard that prick. He always thought he was better than you. Always thought women should stay home and do what the man said. Always bad mouthed everyone and the Titans. Only reason he wasn't put down was because everyone ignored him and no one supported him." David said.
"True." Sean said.
"Hell, I'm glad he's dead. Fucking prick should have been the first to die not..." David tried to say before Sean looked at him. "I'm just saying. He was a fuckboy in those days and no one liked him." David said.
"Yup." Sean said downing his drink.
Next day
Sean sighed as he adjusted his robes.
"Nervous now big brother?" Turok asked making Sean chuckle.
"HMPH! Wait till you get to your big day with someone." Sean said.
"I've got my eye on someone. Just imagine. If you're nervous like this imagine what Korra is like right now." Turok said making him chuckle.
"Oh I got a pretty good idea on that." Sean said.
Korra smiled at herself as she was in her mother's wedding dress as the vail was ready to be put down.
"Honey you look beautiful." Senna said.
"Thanks mom...I'm just...A little..." Korra struggled to say.
"Nervous?" Senna asked making her nod which caused her mother to smile. "I felt the same way when I married your father. Of course neither of us did what you two do on a weekly basis." Senna said making Korra giggle.
"You know it's funny. When I was a little kid I never once thought this would happen. But 14 years later about to be married and a baby on the way." Korra said holding her seven month pregnant stomach.
"Your father and I and weren't exactly happy about that right away. We were expecting you two to get married first. But we accepted it happened and you two deserve each other." Senna said making her smile.
"I know." Korra said.
Soon enough everyone was gathered.
Sean of course being at the alter smiled as Korra being escorted to him by her father while the girls led.
"At least Dawn isn't getting some payback on Sarah right now." Reznov said making him snort in amusement before Korra was given to Sean who held her hands.
"Does anyone have just cause why these two should not be married? Speak now, or forever hold your peace." The Priest said.
"I DO!"
Everyone was shocked someone spoke but none more so than Sean.
"No way." Sean said seeing a man in clothes from his era glaring at him.
He had white skin red hair and red eyes.
"What the?" Reznov said.
"This piece of shit doesn't deserve to marry anyone for his crimes."
"Mark?" Sean asked in shock.
"Sean? You know who this guy is?" Korra asked confused.
"Remember the guy I told you had an obsessive love interest in Hitomi in my day. Thats him." Sean said shocking her. "How in the hell are you still alive? It's been 30,000 years." Sean said.
"Cryostasis." Mark said.
"Oh well that fucking figures. You would take the easy way out to avoid fighting. So while the rest of us risked our lives you were cowering in stasis waiting for it to end and then try take some glory about fighting in the war." Sean said glaring at him.
"So what? Why risk my neck for a bunch of nobodies. But more importantly why fight in the war you started?" Mark asked.
"It was an accident!" Sean yelled.
"The hell is your problem?" Korra asked.
"A woman should not speak unless told to." Mark said making her widen her eyes and offending her and every other woman present while Sean face palmed and groaned.
"Oh my god." Sean said annoyed.
'Well, that is most offensive line to women I've ever heard.' Godzilla said surprised.
"Did he just..." Korra tried to say.
"Now you see why no one liked him. I don't know why your here but..." Sean tried to say.
"I'm here for her." Mark said looking at Korra which creeped her out.
"Uh no thanks. I'm happily taken." Korra said.
"It wasn't a request woman. Now get your ass over here." Mark said.
"ENOUGH!" Sean yelled glaring at him. "Mark, I'm warning you right now. Get out." Sean said.
"Or what?" Mark asked.
"Or I'll kill you here and now. While I really dislike taking a life I've got no issues killing you. This is why no one liked or cared about you. Your cruel and vile to everyone since you think you're superior. You're not. Your work was flawed and rushed. You think you're perfect but there is no such thing. I may have been arrogant in my scientist days but I never was anything like you. I cared about my coworkers and everyone else. Everything I did was to help people have a better life. Everything you did was for yourself." Sean said.
"I am telling you right now woman to get over here...Or I'll make you." Mark said making her glare.
"How are gonna make me? You clearly don't have bending. No military training or anything. So why would I come with you?" Korra asked making him growl about to approach her when water serpents appeared and roared at him making him step back.
"Get out." Sean said glaring at him before Godzilla took over.
"I will deal with you soon enough." Godzilla said making him seethe in rage.
"You will all pay for this. Be certain of that." Mark said before Godzilla water bent him out the place.
"Insect." Godzilla said before Sean took over.
"I thought you said people like him were rare." Korra said.
"They are. With his being even more so. I'll deal with him later." Sean said before taking her hands again making her smile.
"Do you Sean Ashburn Kruger Host of Godzilla Take Avatar Korra to be your Wife?" The Priest asked.
"I do." Sean said.
"And do you Avatar Korra take Sean Ashburn Kruger Host of Godzilla to be your husband?" The Priest asked making her smile.
"I do." Korra said.
"Then by the power given to me I now pronounce you husband and wife." The Priest said as Sean lifted up the vail before they kissed making everyone cheer.
Later
Everyone was at another of Sean's places that was large enough for everyone for the Reception.
After everyone left Korra had thrown her flowers away which landed in Asami's hands making her blush looking at David who smirked.
"I'm really sorry about that Korra. I was never expecting that at all." Sean said holding his wife close who smiled.
"That wasn't your fault. And it's fine." Korra said kissing him making him smile. "But what the hell was that all about? He just hated you so much." Korra said.
"Ah. He and I have been rivals since we were kids. Even back then he was unstable. His parents claimed he would grow out of it but he never did. We've always been that way. With major differences of course. While I was arrogant in my abilities in the lab I always took precautions so no one would get hurt. He never took precautions since he only cared about himself. I had the support of the entire science division since my work was for the people. His work was only for himself and everyone hated him." Sean said.
"And Clearly so did Hitomi." Korra said.
"Yeah. She especially hated him since he always made weapons. She always hated weapons and he always bragged about them thinking she would be impressed. Instead she was disgusted. It pissed him off seeing me with everything he wanted and had nothing. And while I was always given a slap on the wrest for doing things without approval he was always given a lecture and strict warning." Sean said.
"So you two were the exact opposite of one another...Good." Korra said making him smile as he held her stomach making her smile softly.
"Well now all we gotta do is wait for this little one to come out and everything will be good for both of us." Sean said kissing her making her smile.
"Yeah. But what do we do about Mark? Clearly he'll try something." Korra said concerned since she didn't want him to put her baby at risk.
"Don't worry. I'll handle that. I promise." Seans aid making her smile as she laid her head on his chest.
For the recently married couple they just enjoyed themselves knowing everything would be fine.
Authors Note: And with that Korra and Sean are now finally married. I bet people were expecting Unalaq or the White Lotus to show up. Not this time around.
