A/N I wrote this for a written assignment in school last year, and I thought, hey, why not put it on fanfiction? Please R&R, and NO FALMES!
My Very First medal
It
was finally the end of our jazz recital, and I hadn't messed up one
bit! It wa so amazing, I was going to shriek.
This had to be a dream. I could hear peopl loudly screaming, clapping, and
whistling, and knew that my encouraging mom and friends were among them. I was
ecstatic.
When everybody had stopped making
so much noise, everyone in my jazz group and I trotted backstage.
Everyone was happy with how we had performed. It was really crowded
already, and we didn't have anywhere to sit, so we just stayed standing and chatted
about the other dances, and what we liked, and disliked about them. Soon,
adult supervisors came in, and called out groups in order from oldest to
youngest, and told them to get in line. My group was the fourth group called.
After all of the groups were lined
up, we went back on stage. The audience roared with applause. All of the
dancers were happily smiling. Once everyone was on the stage, student volunteers
started passing out medals. A medal! I couldn't believe it. I had never
gotten a medal before. It was more beautiful than any
medal I had ever seen! It had a white ribbon, with bold, pink letters saying
DANCE, and thin, black lines outlining it. In between each DANCE, there were pink
ballet shoes. At the bottom, there was a gold circle with a box
overlapping it a little at the end. Inside the box, it said DANCE again in bold letters. The
circle had another pair of ballet shoes, a hat, and ribbons flying all over. On
the back, it says crown trophy made in U.S.A., and M&M dance 2005 recital.
They let us off of the stage, and my
sister and I got our stuff ready to go. Nothing, or no one was going to make
this day turn out bad. We met my mom, her friend Judy, and Judy's kids,
Nicholas, Elizabeth, and Alicia by the entrance. They all started congratulating us, and
looking at our medal. My mom took some pictures, and I knew that they looked
good because, we weren't forcing smiles onto our face. We were naturally
happy. That incredible medal was going to remind me of my outstanding performance
in jazz!
