Chapter 26 The Sting
Korra smiled as she watched the Twins sleep while she sat on the couch watching a movie.
"Mmm. I wonder why Sean left so suddenly? It looked like he knew something." Korra said before a knock on the door was heard. "Open." Korra said before the house AI opened the door.
Walking in were Asami and David.
"Hey you seen my brother around? We might have a problem." David said.
"No he left when Raiko found out about us preparing the troops. Said it was important. Whats going on?" Korra asked.
"Well, the problem is that several ships of mine have been attacked that were transporting those Mecha Tanks. They were rebuilt for new construction. All of them have been hit and the crews keep saying it was the North." Asami said making her frown.
"I'm starting to think Sean's right. That doesn't sound like them." Korra said confusing them.
"What do you mean?" David asked.
"She's referring to the fact that the north has nothing to gain by doing this." Ichi said with his brothers coming out.
"Yes, something about this is off. Unalaq wouldn't want to get bad attention with these attacks. But they only make it look like Unalaq is trying to declare war against the world." Ni said.
"He would want as less attention from his activities as possible." San said.
"I see." David said.
"They all got a point. But if Unalaq isn't behind this...Then who is?" Asami asked.
"My best guess is something to convince Raiko not knowing he has no actual power to go to war with the North. Theres opportunity in war and what not. Both for power and profit." Ichi said.
"Sean said the same thing before he left." Korra said.
"And he would know so as we would we. In times of war no one makes the most profit than those who build weapons. In fact many people started wars to make profit not caring who was killed and who's lives were ruined." Ni said.
"We've seen this hundreds of times. Hence the reason we always say humanity can't lead itself...Except one but for understandable reasons." San said.
"Hmm?" Korra asked.
"One of the Titans believes that man should have the right to lead itself but believes these leaders should be trained by us beforehand. In fact his ideology worked in his city." Ichi said.
"Oh yeah thats right I almost forgot there were other cities." Asami said.
"One of them being destroyed was the cause for the creation of the Matrix. Anyway his city always trained leaders under him and those who believed his view had logic to it. His city was the only one that actually did have human leaders with no problems. Others did not have human leaders." San said.
"So Who was this Titan?" Korra asked.
"It was..." David tried to say before someone banged on the door.
"What the?" Korra asked as she went to the door before opening it and frowned seeing Raiko who barged in. "What do you think you're doing?" Korra asked as some of his men walked in.
"I'm here to take those abominations and put them down. I told you before. There will be nothing left of the Titans. Their Era is over. And that means your children will die." Raiko said moving to grab them before Ichi got in the way and snarled at him making him gasp in shock.
"You dare?" Ichi asked before Ni and San surrounded him.
"GET AWAY FROM ME YOU FREAKS!" Raiko yelled making the Twins start crying before Korra got Junior while Asami got Hitomi.
"Listen well little insect." Ni said.
"You have no right to just decide who you want dead. And who do you think led mankind to all of this? You think they did all this by themselves with people like you leading them? No. We led them to this technological age with pride. Your actions would doom this world to pointless war and poverty." San said.
"Now get out. And if you dare try this again...Let me be clear. Theres a special place in hell for you." David said making him growl before David punched him down much to his shock. "Your exactly like Hiroshi and Mark." David said.
"I am nothing like Hiroshi. I didn't murder innocent humans! Though he was right to try and kill the so called King. If the others hadn't shown up he would have freed us from these monsters." Raiko said before groaning as David kicked him down hard.
"Get out!" David yelled making him growl as he walked out with his security before Korra shut the door as she held her son close who whimpered.
"Shh. It's ok. Mommy has you." Korra said calming him down.
Later
Korra sighed as she held her children close as they watched the news
"What are you watching now?" Asami asked walking in.
"Just anything to pass the time. Sean should have been back by now." Korra said as the news showed Raiko who looked smug making her glare.
"Oh great I wonder what he's up to now." Asami said.
"In light recent events I have decided that Titan City will no longer be ruled by the Titans. And More importantly. It is time we pick up where Hiroshi left off. I have had a machine built to eradicate all the Titans. And several Weapons to help bring them down. I give you...MOGUERA." Raiko said as it was presented shocking the crowd. (From Godzilla vs Space Godzilla)
"Soon we will no longer be plagued by these abominations and anything even related to them will be put down. The other weapons are known as Super X one through three. Each capable of killing them all." Raiko said proudly thinking he was gonna be praised for his actions. (Super X 1, 2 and three from Godzilla Heisei era)
Only to be shocked when people started booing him and throwing things at him making him run off.
Korra and Asami burst out laughing at that.
"He so had that coming." Korra laughed.
"Yup. Now he's really proved people can't lead themselves now." Asami said.
Later
"You wanna do what?" Korra asked.
"I wanna draw out whoever is attacking Asami's shipments to find out if it's Unalaq or someone else." Mako said.
"I think thats kinda pointless to be honest. Her company isn't in any danger like it was before Titan city came back. So theres really no point." David said.
"Maybe not. But if Unalaq is behind this and is taking the shipments for his own gains we need to stop him." Mako said.
"On that we can agree." Ichi said.
"So whats the plan?" Korra asked.
"I've asked Lin to have some of her heavy security machines to help us out. We just need to ask Varrick for his help..." Mako tried to say.
"No." Korra said.
"No what?" Mako asked.
"We're not asking for his help. After that stunt he pulled it almost got one of my kids killed because he got greedy." Korra said.
"Look I know your angry at him and all but we need to put that aside. Besides like he said Unalaq would have just done that anyway regardless if he did what he did." Mako said.
"Doesn't make it any better." Korra said.
"But regardless we need to find out who's attacking Asami's shipments and put a stop to it." Mako said.
"All right fine." Korra said.
Later
Everyone was on a shipment heading out to sea to see who was attacking Asami's shipment.
Korra smiled as she watched the twins sleep in her arms before she kissed their foreheads.
"You really are mother material." Asami said walking to her.
"Some gifts are just natural. I may not have planned to have kids so early when I was 17. But I'm glad things worked out the way they did." Korra said as Hitomi yawned making her smile.
"Can I ask how you and Sean met?" Asami asked making her smile.
"I first met both of them when I was crying at a cliff. Some jerk in the White Lotus said I was doomed to fail because I was a girl." Korra said making her scoff.
"Why am I not surprised there was someone like that in the White Lotus?" Asami asked making her nod.
"Anyway Godzilla showed up and made me feel better by telling me greatness is not defined by Gender or Linage. But by actions. Shortly after the Kaiju came back and so did the Titans. I was amazed by how powerful he really was. Then that jerk came back after getting kicked out and tried to kill me. Thats when Sean showed up when he went by Ghost when I first knew him. Killed him and then confronted the White Lotus saying he was here to protect me." Korra said smiling.
"I bet thats when your bond began." Asami said.
"Yeah. While he was visiting David and the others minus Sarah My uncle showed up and just took me away by making some BS law up. When I arrived at the north they showed up again and forced Unalaq to give me back to my family or else he would convince the other Titans to not protect the north. He had no choice but he didn't end there. He burned down the palace and burned half of Desna's face. Though that was unintentional at the time since he didn't know. When I got back I told Sean I did want to be the Avatar anymore." Korra said shocking her.
"Really?" Asami asked.
"Yeah. I was so terrified by what happened I didn't want to go through it anymore. He convinced me it never would again. 14 years later here we are. Married and two kids." Korra said as Junior yawned making them smile.
Thats when they heard explosions seeing the machines fighting against David as he blasted them with lightning.
"What the heck?" Korra asked watching her language in front of the twins.
"OFF THE BOAT!" Ichi yelled taking control as the three jumped on him as they flew off.
"The heck just happened? I thought the plan was to lure out the ones who were attacking not get attacked by our own machines." Ni said.
"I'm as lost as you. What was that about?" San asked making Asami narrow her eyes before widening them.
"Oh no." Asami said.
They made it back to her warehouse and found it completely empty of everything.
"Someone knew what we were planning." Mako said before seeing Asami's defeated look.
"I don't believe this. This is gonna ruin my company if I can't make any sales." Asami said before David held her.
"You mean everything you had was here?" Korra asked.
"Everything. I worked so hard to restore my family company and now this." Asami said.
"Look we'll find out what happened later. But right now we need to find out who knew what we were planning before they strike again." Korra said about to leave.
"Wait...Theres something I need to say." Mako said.
"Can it wait?" David asked.
"No...I was the one who told Raiko your plan to use his troops without telling him." Mako said making Korra stop and face him with a frown.
"Excuse me?" Korra asked.
"Bolin told me. And Raiko asked me a direct question. I didn't want to lose my job." Mako said.
"Your an idiot. Incase your forgetting Raiko doesn't actually have any power. This is all a test to prove man can't lead themselves. Or have you forgotten?" Korra asked making him widen his eyes.
"You seriously forgot didn't you?" David asked.
"I'm sorry. You don't understand..." Mako tried to say.
"I understand you'll sell us out a heartbeat without a second thought now." Korra said.
"Thats not fair. You have no idea the kind of life I've been through and now I have it good. All of you have had the life of luxury. Me and Bolin didn't because of Sean's screw up when he brought the Kaiju here which made people like the guy who killed our parents." Mako said before groaning in pain as Korra earth bended him in the chest.
"Don't go blaming him for this! I get your parents were killed and you two had it rough. But you can't just sell out your own friends when they're doing something important. We wouldn't do that to you. Until now. I never wanna see you again. Some friend you are." Korra said leaving.
"Your nothing but a dick you know that? Selling out your own friends so quickly." David said as he and Asami left. "I wouldn't be surprised if you were somehow related to Mark." David said before they were gone making him hold his head down.
Korra got on Fawkes in his larger form before flying off not wanting to be in the City right now.
Hitomi slowly began to wake up before reaching to her mother making her smile as she kissed her.
"It's ok honey. Daddy will be back soon." Korra said.
Meanwhile
Godzilla and Titanosarus emerged from the water in a deep underwater cave before seeing the massive Temple that could allow the Titans to enter.
"How long has it been since any of us were here?" Godzilla asked.
"Over a hundred thousand years. Not since the war of our kind began to protect mankind from those who viewed them as bugs." Titanosarus said as they walked inside.
Walking to what was a large chamber for all the Titans he saw three.
The first was the large Blue one who had large wings on his back and glowing Red Eyes.
The second was the Serpent who followed him from the south who had res skin yellow eyes and two mouths.
And finally in the room was a large metal Titan that had red eyes and golden armor. \
These were the rulers of Iacon City. The second most powerful City during the golden years. Obelisk, Slifer and Ra. (From Yugioh. I know Ra has a machine like appearance but just don't imagine that)
"It has been a long time old friend." Obelisk said.
"Indeed. Now what is going on? Titanosarus said you all know what Unalaq was up to. What is it?" Godzilla asked not in the mood for games.
"This involves something that happened when you both were asleep. Do you remember our old friend Raava?" Silfer asked making him nod.
"You expect me to seriously forget her? Our greatest spirit ally. The Spirit of light and order. Speaking of whom I haven't seen her in a long time. I always assumed perhaps she went back to the spirit world when the portals closed to keep him in check." Godzilla said.
"No. Thats not what happened. While you were asleep Raava was keeping our old enemy Vaatu contained like she always did when the Convergence was close. However there was an incident that would change the course of history." Ra said.
"And what would that be?" Godzilla asked.
"Yeah I'm kinda confused here. What are you guys not saying?" Sean asked.
"While she was containing Vaatu a Firebender arrived and Vaatu deceived him making him sound like a victim of unjust imprisonment for 10,000 years. So he foolishly believed his words and did the most idiotic act. He set them free." Obelisk said.
"HE WHAT!" Godzilla roared.
"Told you he wouldn't like it." Titanosarus said.
"I certainly hope you punished this idiotic fool." Godzilla said.
"No. Remember what we said. He was deceived by Vaatu because he had no idea who he was. Remember our history was lost before Titan City returned. Can you truly blame him for not knowing the truth?" Ra asked.
'They have a point. Since the Golden Era ended history was lost. So he had no idea who Vaatu was and it was usually the Titans job to stop him.' Sean said making him growl.
This was true. Vaatu was the opposite of Raava. The Spirit of darkness and Chaos.
Every 10,000 years the two would meet in the spirit world during the convergence. An event that happened every 10,000 years when the planets were perfectly aligned. This would cause the portals in the spirit world to connect granting great power.
However Vaatu never once succeeded.
Because the Titans be it Godzilla, Ghidorah, Destroyah or even these four would always stop him every time so easily making Raava's job easier. And with the good the Titans brought it made Vaatu weaker while she was always stronger because of the actions of the Titans making Chaos very rare.
But because the Titans were asleep for 30,000 years chaos grew which meant Vaatu got stronger.
But nevertheless he always was defeated.
"Ok I suppose its true he was deceived. But who was he?" Godzilla asked.
"His name was Wan. Someone from the area I looked over as the other Titans recovered. But he got caught stealing so he was banished but I let him keep his bending. He learned to survive and became close with the spirits which motivated others to leave feeling they could also survive but not the same way as him." Ra said.
"When Wan was told the truth about who Vaatu was he was horrified. Vowed to make amends." Obelisk said.
"I take it Raava refused?" Godzilla asked.
"Initially. But when Vaatu attacked the people I was protecting I convinced her to let him help her since in her current power because of the darkness Vaatu was spreading was making her weaker and could not solve this alone. She agreed. So we decided to do something that had never been attempted before." Slifer said.
"And what would that be?" Godzilla asked.
"Giving him more than one element to use." Slifer said making him narrow his eyes.
"Hold on. Wan was actually..?" Godzilla tried to say.
"Yes. He was the first Avatar. We all gave him one of the four elements and trained him to use them. Of course though in our still weakened state there was only so much we could teach him and short amount of time. He ran into some old friends who had been blindly attacking spirits for selfish reason who turned dark because of Vaatu. They were killed but not before Wan tried to stop them and temporarily merged with Raava increasing his power. But in the end they had to separate and his friends were killed." Obelisk said.
"After that we went into the spirit world and prepared to fight Vaatu. With all the chaos he caused he grew far stronger than ever before. We fought as best we could but because had become so powerful and we were still recovering from the war it was difficult even with four of us. However when the Convergence began Wan did something so unexpected none of us could ever see it coming." Titanosarus said.
"What did he do?" Godzilla asked curious as was Sean.
"He used the power of the Convergence and permanently merged with Raava making him the Avatar. With this new power he used the elements to lock Vaatu in the Tree of Time to be forever sealed away. However he was concerned someone may try to free him so he had us gather as many spirits as possible and brought them back to their world. Until all of us had fully recovered. With the Avatar Cycle beginning we finally fully rested to recover faster. Then you found the Tenth and trained them all until this new one which Kruger married." Obelisk said.
"Yes...Hold on. Unalaq wants to release Vaatu doesn't he?" Godzilla suspected.
"I'm afraid so. And the Convergence is nearly here." Ra said.
"Thats not good. Vaatu during our era was easy to defeat but because of current events he's stronger than ever. We need to stop them." Godzilla said.
"Hence why we brought you here to let you know what was going on." Slifer said.
"Hmm. I need to find Korra and tell her about this. We knew the portal was sealed for a reason and now we know why." Sean said.
"But you four are gonna do something while we find her." Godzilla said.
"Oh? And what would that be?" Titanosarus asked as Godzilla narrowed his eyes.
"Find Every Titan you can...And prepare for war." Godzilla said.
Authors Note: Holy crap things just got intense. So the Titans that remained awake helped create the Avatar and fought against Vaatu. And now we know Unalaq is trying to free him (Though that was clearly obvious). And now Godzilla wants every Titan ready for war against the Dark Spirit to finish him off once and for all. Now Next Chapter the Guide. Yesterday was a fucking nightmare. The website was going through some issues. I almost didn't get this done. I knew I should have finished it the day before.
