Chapter 27 The Guide
Sean had arrived back in Republic City before rushing into his home.
"Korra!" Sean yelled as he looked for her but found the place empty.
'Odd. We did tell her to stay here did we not?' Godzilla asked.
"Yeah. The hell is going on?" Sean asked before David walked in.
"There you are. We've been looking all over for you." David said as he and Asami walked in.
"I was meeting up with Tatanosaurus and some other Titans. They know what Unalaq is up to. I'll explain later. Where is Korra?" Sean asked.
"She took the twins and left to head to the Eastern Air temple knowing Tenzin and the others were there." Asami said.
"Why the hell would she take the Twins there?" Sean asked.
"Mako told us he was the one who told Raiko about preparing the troops since he forgot he doesn't have any actual power. Korra got pissed off when he blamed you for bringing the Kaiju here and made people like the one who killed his parents. Said he didn't want to lose his job." David said.
"Well...I can't really fault him for that part." Sean said shocking them.
"What? You're taking his side?" Asami asked.
"I'm not taking anyone's side. I get why he did it since he forgot. When you grow up like he did and you finally have something worth doing with your life you don't wanna lose it. David would you want to lose your old career as a comedian during our era so suddenly not on your terms?" Sean asked making him look to the side.
"No." David said.
"Asami would you want to lose your company so suddenly?" Sean asked making her sigh.
"No. But I might as well have now. Someone took all my products I was gonna sell." Asami said.
"We'll solve that later. Our family finances can keep the company going for decades. But the fact is I understand where Mako is coming from. True he should have remembered this is nothing but a test but if it wasn't his reasons weren't completely selfish. He just didn't want to lose the best thing he has." Sean said.
"Ok thats fair." David said.
"Anyway I gotta find Korra. Do me a favor. Get Reznov, Julia, Dawn and Sarah to find all the Titans and bring them here to Titan city." Sean said.
"Why? The hells going on?" David asked.
"I'll explain later. Just do it." Sean said leaving.
"Whats got him so spooked?" Asami asked concerned.
"I don't know. But Those four must have told him something thats putting him on edge. I gotta go." David said rushing off to find Sarah and the others.
Later
Korra had arrived at the Eastern Air temple and told Tenzin and the others what happened.
"So Unalaq started a civil war in the South after you opened this spirit portal?" Tenzin asked.
"Yes, And I know that was his whole plan from the start. He's after something in there." Korra said holding the Twins close.
"What about Sean? Where's he?" Tenzin asked.
"I don't know. He left to go somewhere said it was important. I don't know where he is." Korra said.
"Right here." Sean said walking in making her sigh in relief. "And believe me our problems are about to get a lot worse than when Hiroshi controlled the first Mecha Godzilla." Sean said.
Later
"So Avatar Wan and four of the Titans imprisoned Vaatu in the spirit world?" Tenzin asked.
"Thats what they told me and now they think Unalaq is trying to free him for some reason." Sean said.
"I'm completely lost though. Who's Vaatu and Raava?" Korra asked.
"The Spirits of light and darkness. Raava is an old friend of the Titans going back long before Humanity existed. Vaatu however is the opposite and always fought against them at every turn he could. Every 10,000 years the two would do battle in the spirit world during the harmonic Convergence." Sean said.
"Whats the Harmonic Convergence?" Korra asked.
"Its an event when all the planets in the solar system are perfectly aligned. And when that happens the portals in the spirit world connect granting unimaginable power. And they would battle during this event." Sean said before Raava appeared on Korra's chest.
"However Vaatu's never once won." Raava said surprising Korra.
"Whoa!" Korra yelled in surprise making Godzilla chuckle as the Twins giggled at their mother's outburst.
"So there you are. All these years you were right in front of us. What was that about never having a host?" Godzilla teased.
"Ha Ha ha." Raava said sarcastically. "As I was saying Vaatu has never once been victorious." Raava said.
"Why not?" Korra asked.
"Because he feeds on Chaos. And because of the order Godzilla and the other Titans brought he was weak. I could defeat him on my own without even trying because of this. But they always stepped in to be safe since they didn't want to take chance which was a good thing." Raava said.
"But because of the war and current events he was becoming stronger. But he failed nonetheless every time. But we were both asleep during the last convergence as were all of us. Except four. But because of Wan's actions he got even stronger than ever. Making it difficult for the four for the first time in our life. But Wan permanently merged with Raava becoming the first Avatar. Thats when the cycle began and he trapped Vaatu in the Tree of Time. Then they had most of the spirits leave this world to go back to theirs until all of us could awaken like now." Godzilla said.
"And then during the tenth Avatar you discovered her and started training all of them." Raava said.
"And then her and I got married. Life always works in mysterious ways." Sean said.
"Indeed. But the fact is Unalaq may be trying to release Vaatu and finish what happened years ago." Raava said before vanishing.
"This is my fault. I knew opening that thing was a bad idea since I figured it was closed for a reason." Korra said holding the Twins close as they slept.
"Don't blame yourself. None of us knew the truth since as time goes on history is forgotten. At least during the last 30,000 years. But this time around we're gonna make sure Vaatu never comes back." Sean said.
"We already have every awakened Titan find those who are still asleep to awaken them. I will not take chances." Godzilla said.
"But we would still need the Earth Defense forces. Have you talked to Raiko?" Tenzin asked making him scoff while Korra frowned. "What is it?" Tenzin asked.
"I was right about him from the start. He's nothing but a selfish old man who like Hiroshi wants the Titans all gone. And tried to have the Twins put down because he thinks they might have some abilities." Sean said.
"I see." Tenzin said.
"Still Iroh is getting them ready secretly." Sean said.
"But if Unalaq controls the Southern Portal how do you intend to close them?" Tenzin asked.
"I was thinking of that on the way here. The best chance to close it is from within. By entering the spirit world. We can close it from there without him knowing." Sean said.
"Thats not a bad idea. But we also need to make sure Vaatu can never return." Tenzin said.
"We have some tech that can keep him contained for good. We just need to close it from the inside before we invade the South and force the North out." Sean said.
"Then I suggest we get moving then." Tenzin said.
Meanwhile
"You two failed to take him down?" Unalaq asked his children.
"What could we do? Only the Avatar is capable of harming him." Desna said.
"Or another Titan. And none are alive that will stand against him and the others. That we know of." Eska said.
"Unfortunately that is true. At one point during Humanity's early years there were hundreds that stood against him and those who followed him when they wanted to destroy mankind but they lost since they lacked numbers and power. Now all but a few are dead." Unalaq said.
"So what do we do?" Desna asked.
"For now nothing. All we can do is wait." Unalaq said.
Meanwhile
"So have you actually been to the spirit world before?" Korra asked her husband.
"Um no. That wasn't really my thing back then. Hitomi did sure but not me. I was more into science than spiritual stuff." Sean said as they walked through the area.
"You two couldn't have picked a better spot. This is why my father met..." Tenzin said.
"I know what this place is Tenzin and who Aang met. I know all the stories. I was there at times." Sean said.
"Oh right." Tenzin said.
"Maybe you should have brought Sarah. You did say Mothra handled spiritual matters." Korra said.
"She's looking for other Titans with the others so no." Sean said.
"Who were the other Titans who warned you about Vaatu anyway?" Korra asked.
"Titanosaurus, Obelisk, Slifer and Ra. All four ruled Iacon city. Which was in the Fire Nation back in our day. It was the second most important city back then." Sean said.
"By the way David said there was one Titan who felt Mankind should have leaders and had his own city." Korra said.
"Oh He was referring to..." Sean tried to say.
"We've arrived." Tenzin said.
"Another Time." Sean said. (Sora I am not mocking anyone. It just builds up questions as to who it is nothing more)
Soon all three were in a meditation stance with Ikki and Meelo trying to help them out with some instruments.
Just one slight error in this.
"I don't think this is working at all since we're still here." Godzilla said.
"Yeah this Is not working at all.." Korra said equally annoyed as the twins cooed making her smile.
"I would be already if Meelo would ring his bell at the appropriate intervals." Tenzin said.
"Aww, Did I do it wrong?" Meelo asked.
"Let's try something else." Tenzin said leaving.
"I thought your bell ringing was just fine." Korra said making Sean chuckle holding her close.
"This is why you're a good mother." Sean said making her smile.
And now they were at a new spot but this time they had some smoke added in to help.
"What in the blazes of Ra's fires is this? This isn't helping even slightly." Godzilla said annoyed kicking the sticks away.
"Kya you set it up all wrong." Tenzin said.
"Hey I did exactly what you said Not my fault." Kya said.
"Now the moment is ruined." Tenzin said walking away.
"MAN!" Sean said annoyed.
"just relax. We'll get there soon." Korra said before they left as Hitomi reached for her father making him smile as he picked her up.
"It's ok honey." Sean said holding her close as she wrapped her little arms around him.
Before they all left Turok noticed Jinora looking out at the distance making him curious
"Uh Jinora? What are you looking at?" Turok asked.
"Nothing." Jinora said running off.
'Is it me or does she see something we don't?' Turok asked.
'Hmm. Curious.' Destroyah said.
The three soon arrived at a temple to try once more.
"Focus, you two." Tenzin said.
"We are." Sean said.
"No talking." Tenzin said.
"Do me a favor and be quiet." Godzilla said annoyed.
"Feel the energy of the universe." Tenzin said.
"Okay, I feel it." Korra said.
"Korra, Really! I'm trying to concentrate here!" Tenzin said shocking her as he stood up. "I don't think this location is going to work either." Tenzin said frustrated.
"Ok thats it." Sean said standing up.
"What in the world is going on with you? First you blamed Meelo then Kya and now Me. Who's next him?" Korra asked.
"Like to see him try." Godzilla said.
"Well, nothing is feeling right to me." Tenzin said.
"Need I remind you we don't have much time left. I need to close that portal before all the Titans are gathered when we invade the South and take down Unalaq for good. Now stop wasting my time. How did you get in the first time?" Godzilla asked having enough of his games.
"Well...Actually, I've never been into the spirit world." Tenzin said shocking the hell out of them completely along with the others who listened.
"Please tell me I did not just hear that." Godzilla said in disbelief
"You have got to be kidding me. You of all people have never once been in the spirit world?" Sean asked in complete disbelief.
"But you used to spend days in the temple meditating." Pema said.
"Trying to get in...It never happened. It's my greatest shortcoming as an Airbender, spiritual leader, and son of Aang." Tenzin said as Bumi laughed.
"Welcome to the I disappoint Dad club." Bumi said.
"And you're the club president." Destroyah said making Turok chuckle as Bumi glared at him.
"If you've never been to the spirit world, how are you planning to get Korra and Sean there?" Kya asked.
"I've spent years studying the techniques and theories of ancient spiritual leaders. Now that the Avatar needs me, It must be my time." Tenzin said.
"The Convergence is weeks away. We don't have much time. If Vaatu escaped in his current state." Sean tried to say.
"You must trust me." Tenzin said.
"Actually there might be another way." Turok said gaining their attention as he looked to Jinora.
"Perhaps Jinora would like to say something to everyone here?" Destroyah asked.
"Jinora? She is too young and untrained to have any knowledge about spiritual matters." Tenzin said.
"Actually, I think I do know where they need to go to get into the spirit world." Jinora said.
"Is that so? And just how would you of all people know how to do that at a young age?" Godzilla asked.
"My spirit friends showed me." Jinora said before bunny spirits with dragonfly wings appeared.
"Whoa." Turok said impressed making Sean chuckle.
"Well, I can see you two going far little brother." Sean said making him freeze as he and Korra laughed as did the Twins.
"Oh shut up the lot of you." Turok said.
"I'm impressed since this is a unique gift. How long have you been able to do this?" Godzilla asked.
"I don't know. I guess I've always kind of had a connection with spirits." Jinora said as a blue one laid on Bumi making him laugh.
"I think this one likes me." Bumi said.
"Are they here to help?" Korra asked.
"I think they want you go down there." Jinora said as they went somewhere.
"I don't know. The Spiritual energy is historically strongest near the temple." Tenzin said.
"No offense, but I'm guessing the spirits have actually been to the spirit world, So we're gonna follow them." Korra said.
"If we need to go to the Tenzin world, we'll call you." Bumi teased making him frown.
Sean however smirked as he picked Korra up bridal style.
"Lets go down the fun way." Sean said.

"Wait what! WHOA!" Korra yelled as Sean jumped down before making water to slide down making her laugh as did the Twins.
"Oh boy. Wanna ride?" Turok asked Jinora making her smile as he picked her up before flying down.
"Wait a minute!" Tenzin yelled before they were gone making him sigh while Pema laughed as Rohan laughed with her.
Korra laughed as Sean went down the trail to where the spirits were leading them.
Looking at the Twins she saw them laughing enjoying the ride down.
"Hang on." Sean said doing a spiral move making her smile as the twins laughed.
"WHOO-HOO!" Korra cheered.
"YO!" Turok yelled next to them.
"Remind you of the old trails back in the day?" Sean asked.
"Yeah except without all the high tech." Turok said as he spun around before seeing a hollow tree making him grin as he started spinning.
"WHOA!" Jinora yelled as they went in before coming out intact making her laugh.
Soon the group found where the Spirits were at before Sean jumped towards them.

"That was fun. Did you two have fun?" Korra asked the twins who laughed making them smile as Tenzin and the others on Oogi arrived.
"Whats with the rocks?" Korra asked.
"Look closer." Godzilla said seeing Airbender symbols on them.
"This is an ancient airbender meditation circle." Tenzin said.
"There's a lot of spiritual energy in this place, but it feels really strange." Jinora said.
"We'll have to perform a spiritual cleansing ceremony." Tenzin said.
"What are you talking about?" Bumi asked.
"Dad taught it to me. This site has been neglected for many years. A cleansing ceremony will help strengthen its connection to the spirit world." Tenzin said.
Tenzin got started on the ritual before the spirits left.
"So how come you never went into the spirit world?" Korra asked.
"No reason. I just didn't want to. You don't have to have a specific reason to do something or not do something in life. Theres nothing complicated about it." Sean said.
Suddenly however the ground started shaking.
"Hmm?" Godzilla said before dark spirits emerged from some hole.
"AHH! BATS! EVIL BATS!" Bumi screamed.
"Not bats! Dark Spirits!" Korra yelled as they ran for cover as the Twins started crying.
"Ok thats it." Sean said before using Water bending to do what Unalaq could to calm them down before they glowed and vanished.
"I didn't know you knew the same thing Unalaq did." Korra said as the twins calmed down.
"I've lived for 30,000 years Korra. I learned a lot in that time. Though I very rarely ever had to do something like this." Sean said.
Later
Tenzin was trying to enter the spirit world before Bumi started poking him with a stick
"You in the spirit world yet?" Bumi asked.
"No...AND STOP BUGGING ME!" Tenzin yelled throwing the stick away.
"Ok thats it I've had it." Godzilla said.
"Jinora is gonna lead us into the spirit world since your wasting my time." Sean said.
"Both of you calm down." Korra said.
"No. He's wasting our time because of his ego and desire to go there himself. Every second he wastes brings Vaatu closer to escaping his prison. I'm not gonna allow that in his current state!" Godzilla said.
"Enough." Korra said making him growl.
"He's right." Tenzin said getting their attention. "Perhaps I will never have the same spiritual connection like my father. Like he wanted me to have." Tenzin said.
"Not everyone can do the same things as their parents. Thats what makes everyone unique." Destroyah said.
"Indeed. Now. Let's get this done and over with quickly. The sooner we lock that portal the better." Godzilla said.
Korra handed Junior and Hitomi too Turok who smiled at his nephew and Niece.
"You two be good for your Uncle now." Korra said kissing them making them laugh.
Jinora, Sean and Korra sat in a mediative stance as she guided them into the spirit world.
Thats when they opened their eyes seeing the spirit world.
"Incredible." Godzilla said.
Meanwhile
"I cannot locate the Avatar. And with the King protecting her it will be impossible to take her and open the other portal." Unalaq said to Vaatu who still remained within the tree of time.
"I would not be so sure on that. The Avatar has just entered the spirit world." Vaatu said surprising him.
"How do you know?" Unalaq asked.
"Even though I was separated from Raava I can still sense her presence. And she is not the only one. Godzilla and his host have also arrived." Vaatu said making him glare.
"I'll take care of them." Unalaq said.
"No!" Vaatu said shocking him. "If anyone will finally rid the world of that annoying lizard it will be ME." Vaatu said.
