Chapter 34 Rebirth
It's been a few days since new Airbenders had started to appear so suddenly giving hope to the Titans the barrier that surrounds the breach to finally stop Kaiju from coming out once again like it once did for 30,000 years.
And of course since Zaheer escaped because of the White Lotus who let him out willingly thinking they could capture him easily not knowing he was now an Airbender. Which caused their plan to backfire and kept it to themselves hoping their actions wouldn't become known.
Right now however though everyone was on Airtemple island at the docks as a highly advanced Airship came down before Asami and David stepped down.
"Someone order a luxury Airship?" Asami asked.
"It's perfect. Thanks Asami." Korra said holding Hitomi while Sean had Junior both of whom were asleep.
"Figured if we're gonna look for new airbenders we might as well do it in style." Asami said.
"Yay! Airship!" Meelo yelled.
"I wanna see." Ikki said as the two rushed inside making the group chuckle in amusement.
"Pema and I will hold down the fort." Kya said holding her youngest nephew.
"Where is Reznov?" Mako asked.
"He's staying behind for now incase any new Airbenders appear in the City. And to keep an eye on things incase the White Lotus try to pull anything. Since it's coming close to the time table we made for them to come to a close." Sean said.
"Oh yeah thats right I forgot. You gave them a year to accomplish something and the time table is almost up." Korra said remembering that was placed after Titan City came back.
"Yup. They got at least 3 weeks before the time limit is up and when that happens they are gone." Sean said.
"Can't say they don't deserve it though. Can't believe those attention loving freaks tried to take credit for the war in the South." Turok said.
"I know what you mean." Sean said disappointed by how far the group he respected so much during Iroh's days when he led them.
"Hey! How come Jinora gets to go with you but we don't! That is so not fair!" Ikki said annoyed.
"Yeah what she said!" Meelo said.
"Because if Airbenders show up here, they will need some guidance from you two." Kya said.
"Oh." They said looking excited.
"Oh no I think you just made one huge mistake." Turok said making the group laugh
Soon enough the group was in the airship and took off.
On top Naga had her tongue out as the wind blew by while Oogi did the same.
Down below Sean pulled up a holographic map of the Earth Kingdom.
"Ok so we've gotten several reports of new Airbenders all over the place. We stop around and pick up who we can." Sean said.
"We're going to bring the air nation back from the brink of extinction." Korra said excited.
"Don't be so quick to be excited. Odds are not all of these people are gonna join us since they are content with the lives they have." Sean said.
"Honey your killing the good mood." Korra said grinning at him.
"Just being honest. Also it looks like Mothra's second theory was right." Sean said pulling up some DNA marker. "We took some samples from the new Airbenders. These people are descendants of the original Airbenders from 30,000 years ago. Remember the Air nation didn't actually exist until AFTER the Avatar cycle began. Meaning theres points in time when people began to spread out. And in doing so spread out the bloodlines." Sean said.
"Yes that does indeed make sense. 30,000 years is a long time for those bloodlines to appear all over the world." Tenzin said.
"And now because of the convergence their airbending abilities are beginning to appear." Turok said.
"So how many do you think there are?" Korra asked.
"Maybe a hundred or more. In time the number will increase. And the old cities where the old temples are will take place once more." Sean said.
"But what about the Temples themselves?" Tenzin asked.
"They'll remain of course to remember our past both the good and bad." Sean said.
"Thats good enough for me." Korra said.
Meanwhile
Out in the middle of the ocean were the White Lotus guarding one of Zaheer's allies. Ghazan.
To insure that he would be less difficult to beat the whole place was made of wood instead of Earth
Thats when a speed boat appeared.
"Finally, the shift change is here."
When the boat docked they were quick notice that there was only one member.
"Hey, where are the other guards? There should have been more."
Thats when they saw who it was.
"ZAHEER!"
Zaheer surprised them with his airbending
"Hmm?" Ghazan said trying to see.
Zaheer attacked the White lotus and was beating them without trying. (Seriously these fuckers are easy to beat. They disgrace the old White Lotus)
Zaheer then threw some rocks into the cage making Ghazan smirk before using them to make Lava and started to cut through his cage before busting out and helped Zaheer take down the remaining Sentries without effort.
Thats when they got into an armlock.
"It's nice to see you again, Ghazan." Zaheer said.
"Thanks for busting me out. Where'd you pick up the new skills?" Gahzan asked.
"I have Harmonic Convergence to thank for that. I was given a gift. I believe it's a sign that our path is a righteous one." Zaheer said.
"So how did you escape anyway?" Ghazan asked.
"Believe it or not but the White Lotus let me out so they could capture me again to accomplish something. In order to prevent the Titans from disbanding the group due to them destroying their own image. They are right to disband them." Zaheer said.
Meanwhile
"Ok in my head I so saw that playing out differently." Korra said as they were back on the airship after failing to recruit the first airbender.
"I told you not everyone would be so willing to join us. Some of these people are just content with the lives they have. And we have no right to force them to join us and leave their families behind." Sean said.
"He's correct. Besides. Even if we can't get say half the new airbenders to join us we still intend to make new airbenders of our own. The Acolytes for example will be made into new Airbenders." Godzilla said.
"So no matter what we will rebuild the air nation." Sean said.
"Yeah I guess." Korra said.
"Maybe we should try harder to convince them to join us." Asami said.
"Or we could've thrown him into a potato sack and forced him into the ship." Bolin said.
"Thats how they got me to join the united forces before Titan City came back and became the Earth Defense Forces." Bumi said playing with his spirit.
"No, Sean and Godzilla are right we can't coerce people or throw them into potato sacks." Tenzin said.
"Look lets just focus our full attention on Ba Sing Se. These other places only have one in each. No worth the Effort." Godzilla said.
"Very well. I suppose theres nothing more we can do to be honest." Tenzin said.
As the Airship continued to move on to Ba Sing Se everyone was going about their own businesses.
Korra smiled as she watched the Twins sleep before looking seeing Sean and David playing a game on the screen.
"NO!" David yelled having lost.
"HA!" Sean laughed.
"What are you guys even playing?" Korra asked seeing them play as Titans on the screen.
"Godzilla Save the Earth." Sean answered.
'HA!' Godzilla said amused.
"Can I talk to you for a second?" Korra asked.
"Pause the game would ya?" Sean said getting David to do that before the two walked to the window watching as they passed the villages. "Something on your mind?" Sean asked.
"It's just...I don't know. I really expected people to be more excited about being an Airbender. I remember how excited I was when I found out I was the Avatar." Korra said.
"Oh theres a good memory right there." Sean said making her giggle. "Korra, some people don't want more in their lives. They're happy with what they have. Just as you said you want to separate from Raava one day since you admit the time of the Avatar is drawing to a close and are content with what we have now." Sean said making her nod.
"I guess. But I really want to make a real special difference before that happens. I want to rebuild what was lost because of Sozin. To bring back the Air nation so Tenzin and his family can be happy that they aren't alone anymore." Korra said.
"I know. Don't worry there will be others. But for now this is only beginning." Sean said as Fawkes called out waking the Twins up. "Fawkes!" Sean yelled annoyed as he picked up Hitomi who cooed as Korra picked up Junior. "Dude if you wanted a treat you didn't have to yell." Sean said making Korra giggle.
After putting the twins back to bed Sean and Korra went to sleep as well.
"Hmm." David said turning off the screen.
"You ok?" Asami asked.
"Ah its nothing. Just thinking how things are finally getting back to the way they used to be." David said.
"Yeah. All we need to do now is get rid of Mark and my father." Asami said frowning at that last one.
"Asami...You don't actually mean that. Hating him is one thing. Wanting him dead is another." David said making her sigh.
"I know. It's just...What he did was really messed up. Almost caused Sean to die and the twins to grow up without a father. Killing millions with a sick look on his face. And what he said he would do to the Twins. I just can't stand him anymore." Asami said.
"I know. But just focus on the future we have now and not what he's done to everyone." David said making her smile as she kissed him.
"Your right." Asami said before they went to bed.
Meanwhile
In another location was the White Lotus with yet another of Zaheer's allies. Ming-Hua.
She was placed in an inactive Volcano to prevent water from forming so she couldn't water bend.
And of course she was still without arms after Sean whens he knew him as Ghost froze her arms before shattering them. (Oh god imagine that in real life)
Needless to say she was holding a serious grudge.
"We're under attack!"
"Hmm?" Ming-Hue said looking up seeing the White Lotus being attacked by Zaheer and Ghazan before the later threw a barrel in the air before Zaheer sliced it open letting out a large amount of water before she used it to make water arms and escaped before helping them take down the White Lotus easily.
"Never thought I'd be happy to see your ugly mugs again." Ming-Hua said.
"Great to see you too, Ming-Hua." Ghazan said.
"I'm flattered, you busted me out before that girlfriend of yours." Ming-Hua said.
"We're getting her next." Zaheer said.
"And what about Ghost? I want some payback." Ming-Hua said.
"Ghost is actually Sean Ashburn Kruger...And Godzilla's host. Finding him and the Avatar will be simple." Zaheer said.
"Perfect." Ming-Hua said.
Later
Sean yawned as he got out of bed before Korra pulled him back down.
"Five more minutes." Korra said making him chuckle before they heard Hitomi yawning making him get back up and walked to her crib before pulling her up as she yawned.
"Morning sweetheart." Sean said as she wrapped her arms around his neck making him smile.
"YO! Get out here we got an airbender!" Turok yelled.
"Hmm?" Sean said before they got dressed before coming out seeing the others talking to some boy who looked around Jinora's age.
"So who's the kid?" Sean asked.
"This is Kai. He's an airbender and he's decided to come with us." Tenzin said.
"It's nice to meet you Kai." Korra said.
"So your the Avatar and the Host of the King?" Kai asked.
"Yup." Sean said.
"Um we should probably get moving. Kai says he's on the run from some outlaws after him." Bolin said.
"Hold on what?" Sean asked before hearing motorcycles making them look outside seeing a group of men. "What in the world is going on?" Sean asked.
"Release the boy or we'll take him by force."
"Those are the Outlaws." Kai said in fear making Godzilla growl before he went out.
Turok quickly looked at Kai however and noticed something in his sack making him narrow his eyes.
"If you criminals think your gonna harm..." Godzilla tried to say.
"What is taking so long?"
"Hmm?" Godzilla said before a Titan appeared. "Varan?" Godzilla asked.
"Ah Godzilla. It's been a long time. But we've got work to do." Varan said.
"Since when do you work with criminals hunting an innocent boy?" Godzilla asked.
"Criminals? Innocent boy? These are deputies that I'm in charge of." Varan said before they showed badges.
"What?" Godzilla asked narrowing his eyes.
"Whatever lies that boy told you is not true. We've been tracking him for six months." The Sherif said making him growl.
"Wheres Kai?" Godzilla asked.
"Right fucking here." Turok said dragging him out as he struggled.
"Let me go!" Kai yelled as Turok dropped the bag showing gold inside.
"I want the truth. NOW!" Godzilla said.
"Ok...I took the gold...But that was the old me. Once I became an Airbender I changed. I swear." Kai said making him snarl.
"You expect me to believe that? No one changes so suddenly." Godzilla said as the deputies took him.
"What do you plan to do with him?" Turok asked.
"He'll be sent to a detention center for Minors." Varan said.
Sarah however watching all this frowned.
"Wait!" Sarah said rushing to them. "You have the gold. Leave him with us." Sarah said.
"Sarah." Sean said in warning.
"Look, you said people deserve a second chance. Let him earn his. You gave me one." Sarah said making him frown before looking at Kai.
"Well?" Varan asked as he sighed.
"Let him go." Sean said making them do so before they walked off.
"Thanks." Kai said to Sarah before yelling as Sean grabbed him.
"Let me make myself fucking clear. You screw up even once...I am dragging your ass back to to them and taking your bending. Am I CLEAR." Sean said making him gulp as he nodded before he let go.
"Don't take it too personally. My brother hates thieves since Mark always tried to take some of his things he worked on for his own gains. Name's Sarah by the way." Sarah said.
"Nice to meet you." Kai said.
"LETS GO!" Sean yelled making them rush up.
"Sean? Are you ok?" Korra asked holding the Twins close.
"Yeah I just hate the fact that we got an Airbender who's a thief." Sean said.
"Just give him a chance. You gave Sarah one." Korra said.
"I know. Let's get moving." Sean said.
Meanwhile
At Ming-Hua's prison stood two people.
One was General Iroh and the second was his Grandfather Zuko.
"I'm sorry Grandfather. But they managed to escape." Iroh said.
"How could this have happened?" Zuko asked narrowing his eyes.
"The White Lotus say they were preparing to give Zaheer his meal but he surprised them and escaped." Iroh said.
"Surprised them how?" Zuko asked.
"Because now Zaheer is an Airbender." Iroh said shocking him.
"No! Do you have any idea what this means. Individually they can take down almost any bender. Combined they could take down an entire nation. And now you tell me Zaheer is an Airbender?" Zuko asked.
"Kruger defeated them once before and that was without Godzilla's help." Iroh said.
"That may be so but now things are different. Notify Republic City's Chief of Police. I'm going to the Southern Water Tribe to pick up Tonraq. And Tell Yonggary to expect us." Zuko said as he got on his dragon before flying off.
Authors Note: Oh boy things are getting tense. Now the other two are out and looking for payback. And the White Lotus of course is lying about letting Zaheer out. Now Next Chapter is where the real action begins. And with some special plans I have in mind. Also Sora to answer your question no I'm fine just been taking a break since I don't wanna rush this is all. Even I need a break after Every Chapter to relax my head. We all do.
