Chapter 36 The Metal Clan
Its been a few days since Sean learned that Zaheer and the others had escaped not knowing the White Lotus let Zaheer out to capture him but backfired.
And since the Earth's queen's son was killed by Sean for his lust for Korra and trying to murder his kids.
Now Sean and the others were constantly on the move so Zaheer couldn't find Korra and the twins.
Sean of course knew he could handle Zaheer easily now that he didn't have to hide that Godzilla was inside him.
Right now the group was resting outside the airship.
Korra was playing with Naga and the Twins making Sean smile.
"While your playing Fetch, four of the most dangerous criminals in the four nations are after you." Lin said annoyed.
"Calm down. Even if Zaheer finds us I'll handle him and the others like before. They won't stand a chance.
"Besides even without Turok and Sarah since they went with Tenzin we can easily handle them together." Korra said as Naga brought the ball back to Lin. "I think she wants you to play with her." Korra said making her look at the ball seeing it covered in drool.
"Pass." Lin said as Mako and Asami walked down.
"We just got a call on the radio about another airbender." Asami said.
"About time." Sean said.
"Where are they?" Korra asked excited.
"In one of the Rebuilt Cities known as Metal City. Formerly known as the Metal Clan." Mako said making Lin widen her eyes.
"Oh it's been a long time since I've been there." Sean said.
"You've been there?" Korra asked.
"Course. Metal City is the third most important City and its the City that has Human leaders." Sean said.
"Oh yeah thats right. I almost forgot about that. What Titan leads that one?" Korra asked.
"Your about to find out." Sean said as they got on the Airship while Lin remained out. "You know your gonna have to see her." Sean said making her grumble as Naga and Fawkes got in.
Soon enough the Airship arrived at Metal City seeing how advanced it was.
"Wow, Wow, Wow." Bolin said.
"Hey Check it out." Mako said looking down seeing Kong, Anguirus, King Caesar, Congar and Baragon down below.
"So which one is the one who believes humans should have Leaders?" Korra asked.
"Kong of course." Sean said.
'HMPH!' Godzilla said.
'Oh knock it off. At least he found a way to make it work.' Sean said.
'Yes I know.' Godzilla said as they landed.
"Lets go." Sean said as they were all about to leave when Sean noticed Lin not moving. "Lin." Sean said.
"Not yet." Lin said making him sigh as he got off.
"What was that about?" Korra asked as Junior yawned making her smile.
"It's complicated." Sean said as they approached a group of people.
"Avatar Korra and Lord Kruger, it is an honor to meet you. My name is Aiwei." Aiwei said bowing.
"Thanks for having us." Korra said.
"Is this everyone?" Aiwei asked.
"Yep, just us. So can we meet the new airbender?" Korra asked.
"Of course. Right this way." Aiwei said leading them on an elevator.
Meanwhile
"Wow." Kya said seeing several new Airbenders.
Reznov had found some other new Airbenders in the City. (I want to say this. I made some mistakes last Chapter about Reznov being there when he shouldn't have been and fixed that along with editing the Rebirth Chapter since I made some mistakes on that as well saying he and Julia stayed behind when it was supposed to be him so incase people get confused just know I fixed this)
Of course there was a problem. Raiko had tried to imprison the new Airbenders since he still thought he was in charge in his demented mind but failed when Reznov beat him to a pulp.
"Damn. At this rate we'll be able to have a large number." Reznov said.
"Excuse me."
Everyone turned and saw a Zaheer but didn't know who he was since his head was shaved.
"My name is Yorru. I heard this was the place to come if you're a new airbender." Zaheer said.
"Yeah thats right." Reznov said.
"Well, a couple of weeks ago, I woke up, and suddenly, I could do this." Zaheer said demonstrating airbending.
"Heh. At least your not destroying parts of they City." Reznov said making the new airbenders groan while Zaheer chuckled.
Meanwhile
Sean and the others were on a advanced railway heading somewhere.
"It's a lot different than I remember 15 years ago." Sean said.
"You were here when it was the Metal Clan?" Korra asked.
"I'm the reason the Metal clan even existed for a few decades. I led the one who made it here since it meant something to people in my era." Sean said as they passed a metal Statue of Toph.
"That statue honors the first metal bender, Top Beifong. She showed Benders are more than capable of almost anything." Aiwei said.
"Does Toph live here? Are we gonna get to meet her?" Bolin asked excited.
"I'm afraid not. She used to visit from time to time, but years ago, she left to wander the world in search of enlightenment." Aiwei said.
Soon they arrived at some large estate.
"Our airbender lives here?" Korra asked.
"Yup. Now lets head on inside." Sean said as they walked inside before they saw a group of people doing some performance.
"What is this some kind of combat training?" Korra asked.
"Not exactly. They are rehearsing for a dance premiere next month." Aiwei said before it ended and a woman spotted them.
"That's it for today, everyone." She said before approaching them.
"Hey Suyin." Sean said making her laugh as she hugged him.
"Sean it's been way too long." Suyin said.
"Sorry. But like I said in the letter I had a more important responsibility." Sean said holding Korra close making her smile.
"So I see. So you must be Korra, Mako, Bolin and Asami. I already know David, Julia and Dawn." Suyin said.
"You've done your research." Mako said impressed.
"I make it my business to know who's in my city." Suyin said.
"So you're a dancer?" Korra asked.
"Dancer, Leader, Wife, Mother. Collector of rare meteorites. You'll find people here have many skills and interests." Suyin said before Aiwei whispered in her ear before she frowned. "Korra, why did you lie when Aiwei asked if there was anyone else with you?" Suyin questioned surprising them.
"Hmm? Now how did you know we lied?" Sean asked curious.
"I am a truth seer. When people lie, their heart rate and breathing increase. I can sense the most subtle of changes." Aiwei said making Godzilla grin.
"Really? Ok see if I'm lying. I believe all humans should have leaders no matter what background they have." Godzilla said.
"I don't need to be a truth seer to know your lying from Kong's stories...But not bad." Aiwei said.
"HA!" Godzilla said.
"Why do you and Kong have issues anyway? Is it because he thinks humans should have leaders?" Korra asked holding Hitomi close as she snored.
"Hmm? No. We've been rivals for many years just like my father and the originals of Kong's species. We agree on almost everything except for the fact about humans having their own leaders. He makes it work in this City with training and picking wisely. I however don't think they should have leaders for obvious reasons. It's just how we are." Godzilla said.
"Oh I get it." Korra said.
"Anyway as to who else is here with us is Lin." Sean said.
"Lin's here? I would love to say hello." Suyin said.
"You two know each other?" Korra asked.
"Your joking right?" Suyin asked.
"No. She never mentioned you once." Sean said.
"Uh I'm lost. How do they know each other?" Korra asked.
"Suyin is Lin's younger sister." Sean said shocking her and the others minus David, Julia and Dawn.
Lin was still on the airship looking at the City.
"Lin." Suyin said making her face her before being surprised with a glare.
"What are you glaring at me for?" Lin asked.
"Oh I don't know. How bout misusing your position to have Sean killed despite not having committed a crime and brought his worst memories back." Suyin said.
"Oh...So you know about that." Lin said.
Outside Sean and the others listened.
"Wow she seems to be pretty pissed." Korra said.
"For good reasons. You could say I was a mentor to Suyin for a time when she left Republic City after an incident." Sean said.
"What incident?" Mako asked.
"The one where Lin got that scar on her face before Mothra healed it when she healed me from Kaiju blood." Sean said.
"You always said what I did was terrible but what does that make you? Miss who can do whatever she pleases?" Suyin asked her sister.
"Ok I get it! I screwed up." Lin said.
"So did I. But at least I changed but you claim I'm still the same as before. What does that make you?" Suyin asked.
"For the love of...Look...Just tell us where the airbender is and I'll leave." Lin said.
"Just like that. You'd rather run from your problems than face them. You haven't changed at all. I have. I built this city because Sean told me what it was decades ago. And now look at it. A rebuilt Metal City where people are thriving because of me and the Titans." Suyin said.
"Congratulations. Do you want a medal?" Lin asked making her frown.
"Ok enough. So who's our new Airbender?" Sean asked walking in.
"Oh that would be my daughter Opal." Suyin said.
"Oh what a surprise. I recall you said you didn't think she was a bender when she was a little girl. Now she's an Airbender. I'm sure Toph would be laughing about that at the Iron on how much she teased Aang and now her Granddaughter is an Airbender of all things." Sean said making her giggle.
Soon they were back at the mansion seeing two boys playing some game.
"Those are my two youngest, Wei and Wing. Their playing a game called power Disc. They invented it all on their own." Suyin said before Wei scored. "I'm so proud of those two." Suyin said.
"Reminds me of Soccer but with metal disks." David said.
And they met her son Huan who was an artistic person but had a gothic appearance.
"Oh brother. That kid hasn't changed at all." Sean said making Suyin giggle.
"I let my kids be who they are. Just like you'll let those two be who they are." Suyin said as Hitomi yawned making them smile.
"True enough." Korra said as they walked to a girl.
"And this is my daughter Opal." Suyin said before she saw them.
"Wow, Avatar Korra and Lord Kruger." Opal said excited.
"You can just call us by our names." Korra said.
"The last time I saw you, you were still in Diapers." Sean said making her blush and giggle sheepishly.
"Opal. Thats a beautiful name." Bolin said making her blush.
"Thanks." Opal said shaking his hand.
"I'm Bolin." Bolin said.
"Opal, But, You already knew that." Opal said blushing.
Sean and Korra looked at each other and smirked.
'Oh this should be interesting.' Godzilla said amused.
"Great we found the airbender we can take her back to the airtemple and leave now." Lin said.
"Oy knock it off." Sean said annoyed.
"And the woman apparently trying to abduct you is your Aunt Lin." Suyin said.
"Really? I've always wanted to meet you. My mom has told me so many stories about you." Opal said.
"I'm sure she has." Lin said crossing her arms.
"So I've set all of you up in the guesthouses while Korra trains Opal." Suyin said.
"Oh, I'm sorry, But I was hoping she could train with the rest of the airbenders at the Northern temple." Korra said.
"Although to be honest since the new Air nation is going to change its rules I don't really see the harm." Sean said.
"I doubt you two would want to be separated from your kids. I don't want her separated from us." Suyin said.
"Well...I really don't see the harm in training her here." Korra said.
"Actually now that I think about it. You mind if we stay here for a while?" Sean asked.
"Course but why ask?" Suyin asked.
"Well...The thing is an old enemy I made 15 years ago got free because the White Lotus screwed up. So knowing how heavy security is here it'll be the perfect place to stay until I find them." Sean said.
"Absolutely not. We are going back to Titan City." Lin said.
"And what makes you think you have a say in the matter?" Suyin asked making her glare. "You and your group are free to stay however long you need until you find these people." Suyin said.
"Thank you." Sean said while Lin growled.
Meanwhile
Back on Airtemple island the new Airbenders were practicing.
One of them got thrown out of the training course Korra once used.
"You guys have a long way to go before you can call yourselves Airbenders." Reznov said.
"Like to see you try."
"Not my thing." Reznov said before Zaheer rushed in and did it perfectly without much efforts. "Well...Seems to me not only is this one skilled in Airbending but the movements as well." Reznov said as Kya approached them.
"I got some great news. Tenzin is heading to the Norther airtemple. He's with a whole group of other airbenders and he wants all of you to join him." Kya said.
"We'll leave first thing in the morning." Julia said.
"And the Avatar is with them?" Zaheer asked.
"No she and some of the others split up to find more airbenders." Kya said.
"That's unfortunate. I was really looking forward to meeting her." Zaheer said.
Meanwhile
Metal City had large energy domes cover the city to prevent unwanted intruders.
While everyone else was in the dinning hall.
"Tonight, for your dining pleasure, I present a seared wild Kyoshi elephant Koi, paired with a ginger-infused pea tendril and hibiscus root salad."
"I'm impressed." Sean said taking a bite.
"Mmm. Now this is a good meal." Korra said eating her meal while Junior and Hitomi sat with Naga who ate her own food.
"Mmm. I have to admit, I was pretty skeptical when he said PEA TENDRIL. But this is delicious." Bolin said.
"I know right." Opal said.
"So how is your search for the new airbenders?" Suyin asked Korra as Sean turned to the twins.
"Honestly kinda slow." Korra said.
"Um Korra." Sean tried to say.
"We had to rescue a whole group from the Earth Queen." Korra said.
"Korra." Sean tried again.
"Not to mention...OW!" Korra yelled as Sean pinched her arm. "The hell was that for?" Korra asked annoyed.
"To get your attention." Sean said.
"For what?" Korra asked making him point as she looked before gasping.
Reason for this?
Hitomi slowly stood on two legs as she walked to her mother for the first time as Naga nudged her forward.
"Oh my god." Korra said about ready to cry as she reached her before picking her up. "Oh honey." Korra said as Sean chuckled as he took her in his arms.
"Da...Da...Dada." Hitomi said making him laugh as he kissed her.
"Oh honey." Sean said before Junior also started walking to them before Korra picked him up.
"M-M-Mama." Junior said making Korra cry a little.
"Oh honey. I love you two so much." Korra said holding him close.
"HEH! And Turok, Sarah and Reznov missed this." David said holding Asami close.
"Sorry we're late everyone." Varrick said walking in with Zhu Li shocking everyone.
"What the?" Dawn said.
"Varrick?" Julia asked.
"Why are you here?" Sean asked as his eyes glowed blue as Korra held the Twins safely.
"Good question Kruger. I mean...What are any of us doing here?" Varrick asked insanely before yelling as Sean blasted him with water making him groan before yelping as Sean stepped on his chest.
"I meant why are you here and not in that suit cell?" Sean asked annoyed.
"Oh that. You see I made an escape hatch when it was made when I got bored of being there. And now here I am." Varrick said.
"Suyin." Sean said.
"Come on now. Varrick has made some mistakes but so have you." Suyin said.
"Heres the difference between mine and his. My mistake originated from an idea to benefit my era and nothing more. His on the other hand was for his own greedy reasons to start a war for profit not caring who died in the process. And his actions almost got one of my kids killed by Unalaq and he shrugged it off." Sean said.
"Is that true?" Suyin asked narrowing her eyes.
"How many times I gotta say it? Even if I didn't do what I did he still would have gone after them regardless." Varrick said.
"But you gave him an excuse and don't even care. GET OUT!" Sean yelled throwing him out the door.
"Fine. Sheesh. So judgmental." Varrick said leaving.
"I HEARD THAT!" Sean yelled making him yelp as he ran off.
Lin however stood up and walked out.
After dinner was over Korra was in Suyin's office with Junior and Hitomi in hand as they slept while she looked at a holographic image of the New Metal City.
"You know Sean told me about this plot of land and about his era. At first I didn't believe him until he turned into Godzilla. Then I believed every word he said. I kinda had a feeling he might have been responsible for what happened since he seemed to avoid answering how the Kaiju came here." Suyin said.
"And you never said anything?" Korra asked.
"He never judged me for what I did so why should I judge him?" Suyin asked making her smile. "Sean helped me create the Metal clan and helped me find my husband and led to my family now. I owe him everything." Suyin said.
"Sounds like you have everything a person could want." Korra said.
"Almost. I wanted Lin to be a part of this family but she never let go of the past for what happened. I was young and rebellious and she never liked that. It was mostly to get Mom's attention but it never really worked. Then after I left Sean led me here and this where it turned out. Now the Titans are back and doing what they did last time. Kong leads the City as a whole. I lead the people." Suyin said.
"So what did happen between you and Lin?" Korra asked.
"That scar she used to have was because of me. I never meant to hurt her it was an accident but she held it against me. But even then I never would have done what she did to Sean so casually. He taught me never to judge someone because of our differences or our unintentional actions." Suyin said.
"So like many before you were a student of his." Korra said.
"Sorta. I mostly just listened to his stories and made a life for myself here. But I always wanted Lin to be in that life...Until I learned what she did." Suyin said.
Meanwhile
Reznov was about to head to bed when he noticed Tenzin's room was open making him frown before seeing Zaheer inside with some pendent.
"What are you doing in here?" Reznov asked.
"Just looking around." Zaheer said.
"You know you moved through that training exercise a little too easily for someone who just got airbending." Reznov said.
"I've always been fascinated with the culture." Zaheer said.
'Something about this guy bugs me.' Orga said.
"And yet you moved through it all so easily. Where did you come from again?" Reznov asked.
"A small village you probably never heard of." Zaheer said making him frown.
"Wait hold on...ZAHEER!" Reznov yelled blasting him back outside.
Jumping outside he faces Zaheer before Orga took over and roared loudly into the air before trying to smash him but he dodged before flying away.
"GET BACK HERE!" Orga roared but he ignored him making him roar in rage.
Meanwhile
Sean smiled as he and Korra watched the Twins sleep in their cribs.
"I'm so happy they've finally begun to walk and talk." Korra said before they got into bed. "So what are you gonna do about Lin?" Korra asked.
"Nothing. She needs to figure things out on her own. Even with Wisdom theres only so much one can do." Sean said.
"I guess." Korra said before he held her close as they fell asleep not knowing what lied ahead of them.
Authors Note: And now the Drama begins. So Zaheer has been caught by Reznov and escaped. Next Chapter is gonna be full of surprises that most people will flip out over.
