Chapter 40 Long Live the Queen
Sean and Asami were being escorted to an airship to return to Ba Sing Se.
"LET ME OUT! You idiots don't know what you're doing!" Sean yelled trying to get free but whatever was injected into him was preventing him from turning.
"Not my problem Kruger. You shouldn't have killed the queen's son." The Captain said.
"Oh sure and let that bastard try to kill my kids so he could think he could have a chance of sleeping with my wife? I think not." Sean said before he was locked to the wall to prevent him from moving.
"Do I have to be chained to the floor the whole way? It's going to be so uncomfortable." Asami said making Sean raise an eyebrow.
'What is she up to?' Godzilla asked.
'I have no idea.' Sean said.
"Sorry miss I'm under orders."
"Can't you just chain me to the railing?" Asami asked.
"Well, as long as you're chained up, I guess it doesn't make a difference."
Asami was chained to the railing before he left.
"I was rather counting on Mako and Bolin to arrive and get us out of here before this happened. What happened to them exactly?" Sean asked.
"They stayed behind to fight two members of the Red Lotus as you called them. The Lava bender and water arm lady." Asami said.
"Their names are Ghazan and Ming-Hua. Though technically I'm responsible for Ming-Hua's current appearance." Sean said.
"How'd you do that?" Asami asked.
"Froze her arms solid and broke them." Sean said making her shiver at that thought.
Meanwhile
Zaheer and the Red Lotus were driving in a truck to Ba Sing Se with Mako and Bolin tied up.
"If you think holding us hostage will give you some leverage against Sean, you're gonna be disappointed." Mako said.
"Can't we just enjoy our time together in silence?" Ming-Hua asked annoyed.
"So you guys were, like, locked up for 15 years? That must have been, like, crazy boring." Bolin said.
"It felt more like 30. No idea why Kruger let us live for so long." Ghazan said.
"He wanted to know if Unalaq was involved. He knew right away it was his plan to kidnap Korra since the timing was too close" Zaheer said.
"Like the stories he's quick to catch on to the obvious." Ghazan said.
"So, what did you do with all that time? Did you sing songs, work on crafts?" Bolin asked.
"Does it look like I can use crafts without my real arms?" Ming-Hua asked annoyed looking at her stumps where they used to be before Sean froze them solid and destroyed them.
"What happened to your arms?" Bolin asked making her look furious.
"Oh no." Ghazan said backing away.
"Nice going." P'li said.
"KRUGER SHATTERED THEM INTO A MILLION PIECES THATS WHAT HAPPENED!" Ming-Hua roared in his face making him whimper.
"Sorry." Bolin whimpered.
"I must have renamed the constellations about a thousand times. When it rained, that was a big event." Ghazan said.
"I would have killed for some rain." Ming-Hua said. "Mostly I just made up stories about the guards. Who was having trouble with his girlfriend? Which one secretly wished he became a pastry chef." Ming-Hua said.
"Ooh, Okay, that sounds like fun. Let me try that on you guys." Bolin said before looking at Ghazan. "You were raised by an older Sister. Your mustache grew in when you were ten. And I'm sensing...Just sensing...An unspoken attraction between you two." Bolin said making him and Ming-Hua look at each other.
"Two out of three. Not Bad." Ghazan said. (Seriously which one did he get wrong? I seriously think it was the mustache one)
"Bolin, will you stop making friends with the bad guys?" Mako asked.
"Sorry." Bolin said.
"Ghazan, gag those two. We're almost there." Zaheer said as they drove to Ba Sing Se.
Meanwhile
Sean growled as he tried to get free.
"Why can't you just let Godzilla take over and grow?" Asami asked.
"You think I haven't tried to change to my form?" Godzilla asked looking at the Syringe. "Whatever this stuff is made of its blocking us from changing forms." Godzilla said.
'The Legacy of Science in the wrong hands.' Sean said.
"We have to find a way off this prison before that Dumb tramp has us." Sean said.
"Don't worry. I have a plan. These airships that cabbage corp sold to the Earth Kingdom are way cheaper than the ones future industries built." Asami said placing her feet on the wall before pulling and the railing came off before she jumped up to put her arms in front of her.
"Oh so thats why you wanted to be put there. Not bad." Sean said impressed as she approached him.
"Theres no way I can get these locks off. I need the keys." Asami said before making a hatch to climb out. "Give me five minutes, then start yelling for help." Asami said going on.
"Huh. No wonder David loves her so much. She's the brains and he's the stupid Comedian." Sean said.
"I heard that." Asami said.
"Whoops." Sean said.
'I believe the phrase is...Smooth move dumbass' Godzilla said making him roll his eyes.
Meanwhile
"When is the King's host scheduled for Delivery?" The Earth Queen asked Gun.
"The Airship already left Fort Bosco and should be arriving in a few hours." Gun said.
"Excellent. Send him to me so I can take my revenge for them killing my son." The Queen said wanting to savor this for as long as possible.
"Yes, your majesty. But first there are some people here who captured The King's friends. They would like to present them to you personally." Gun said.
"You know I don't meet with bounty hunters." The Queen said.
"And of course I told them that, But they say they have some information that might interest you about the location of the Avatar and how to find her." Gun said.
"Really? Fine, send them in." The Queen said.
Soon Mako and Bolin were thrown down in front of her.
"Ah, yes. I remember these two. We'll find an acceptable home for you in prison with the rest of the dissidents." The Queen said before facing Zaheer. "Now I'm told you have some information for me. I hope this isn't just some ruse to try to increase your bounty." The Queen said.
"We don't want any bounty, your majesty. You can consider these two a thank-you gift for simply taking the time to talk to us." Zaheer said.
"How very magnanimous. So Where is the Avatar and my future weapons?" The Queen questioned.
"I'd be happy to tell you once you hand the King's host over to me." Zaheer said.
"Who told you we have the King?" The Queen demanded.
"How I know is not important. But if I found out, the others will too. And that could put you in a difficult position." Zaheer said.
"Is that so?" The Queen asked.
"You know the Titans are very connected to one another. Once they find out that the King is here they'll send everything to take him and destroy your kingdom. You won't last less than an hour." Zaheer said making her frown at that thought. "But if you hand him over to me I'll make sure the other Titans never find him. And besides you'll have his wife and children as compensation. Does that not sound fair?" Zaheer asked.
"Hmm...This kind of decision I need time to think through. Gun...Escort them to the Antechamber while I think on my answer." The Queen said getting him to do that. "Send these two to the dungeon!" The Queen yelled as the Dai Li took Mako and Bolin away.
Meanwhile
"HEY MORON! OPEN THE DOOR!" Sean yelled gaining the Guard's attention as he looked inside seeing him but failed to see Asami.
"Where is she?"
Only to get knocked out from behind by Asami who smirked before grabbing the keys.
Sean growled as he was set free before taking off the mask.
"Nice work. Now lets take control of this ship." Sean said.
The Captain sat back while the Pilot took them to Ba Sing Se.
Thats when Sean blasted down the door before the pilot tried to attack but Sean punched him back into the wheel.
"Uh oh." Asami said seeing them lose control.
"Mayday! Mayday! The King has escaped! We're going down in Quadrant four." The Captain said as the Pilot tried again before Sean blasted him into the Captain before Asami rushed to the controls.
"I think you might have been a little overaggressive. The controls are busted and so is the radio." Asami said.
"Is it my fault this thing is a piece of shit? BRACE!" Sean yelled as they crashed.
The two made it out of the airship up top.
"Well, they say any landing you can walk away from is a good landing. But given our location, I'm not so sure about that." Asami said before the crew came out.
"Lets just go." Sean said as Godzilla took form and picked Asami up.
"What about us?"
"Not my problem." Sean said.
"Sean it would be kinda cruel to leave them out here." Asami said.
'They were just following orders you know. And probably afraid of the queen.' Godzilla said making him sigh.
"Fine." Sean said picking them up before walking back to the town that they were last at.
Meanwhile
Lin was in a jeep looking for Sean and the others before she found some tracks.
Soon she found their jeep and Aiwei's.
When she went to inspect the other jeep Naga jumped out at her making her yell as Naga roared before seeing it was her before licking her as Fawkes landed on Naga.
"First you scare the life out of me, now you want to lick me." Lin said before she did it again as Pabu appeared from the Jeep and jumped on Lin before she grabbed him and put him on Naga before giving them treats. "Here. chew on this, and leave me alone." Lin said before getting the radio. "Reznov, you read me?" Lin asked.
"Yeah whats up?" Reznov said.
"I found Sean's jeep, but they aren't here. Meet me at the misty palms Oasis." Lin said.
"You two sure it's a good idea to have me and the twins outside Suyin's estate?" Korra asked concerned.
"I trust my sister but after what happened with Aiwei I think it's best we keep you moving until Sean comes back." Lin said.
"Better to be safe than sorry as my mother used to say." David said.
"She said a bunch of dumb shit back in our day." Reznov said.
"Will you all please stop saying back in your day or whatever? It makes you all sound old." Korra said.
"WE ARE OLD!" They all yelled.
"But it makes you all sound the part." Korra said.
"Do we look like we care?" Dawn asked.
"Back on topic please?" Tonraq asked amused.
Meanwhile
Zaheer and the others waited patiently for the Queen before one of her agents rushed past them.
"He's in a hurry." Ghazan said making Zaheer frown before following him using his airbending to get up on the rafters to listen in on the conversation.
"Your majesty, we received a distress signal from the airship carrying the prisoners. We believe the ship crashed in the Si Wong desert and the King may have escaped." The Agent said making her growl.
"This is outrageous! Send another airship to retrieve the so called King immediately." The Queen said making Zaheer narrow his eyes before going back to the others and told them what happened.
"What are we going to do now?" Ming-Hua asked.
"Theres no way we can track him down in the desert before the Queen gets to him. And Kruger probably is long gone." Ghazan said.
"It doesn't matter. We're through chasing him. We're gonna make him come to us." Zaheer said.
The Queen was growling that her men failed to deliver Kruger like she expected them to do so.
"Pathetic fools. It's considered a crime to fail your queen. I'll just have them killed publicly." The Queen said before the doors were blown down by Zaheer. "What is this Riffraff doing in my throne room unannounced?"
"Apologies, your majesty, But I couldn't help overhearing that Kruger won't be joining us today." Zaheer said.
"The so called King is still in my custody. However, eavesdropping on royal conversations will land you in a cell right next to those boys you brought in. Now, if you value your freedom, You'll tell me where the Avatar and her children are so I may take them and train them as my weapons of conquest." The Queen said.
"You won't get the chance to train them since we'll be killing them as well." Zaheer said.
"YOU WORTHLESS PEASANTS! KILL THEM!" The Queen thundered before her agents attacked them.
The Dai Li however were taken down in less than a minute by Zaheer and his group. (Like the White Lotus they've also gone down hill)
And Gun ran away in fear.
"GUN! Get back here and lay down your life for your queen, you coward!" The Queen roared hiding behind her chair. (You call him a coward and yet your hiding behind your chair)
"Looks who's talking." Zaheer said making her glare.
"You wouldn't dare attack a queen!" The Queen yelled before suddenly the floor under her began to melt.
"I had planned to just suck the air out of you. But I got something better in mind." Zaheer said as Ghazan used Lava bending under her making her shriek as she clung to the throne as it started coming down. "This is the fate of everyone like you. Soon enough the Titans will retake the rule they once had 30,000 years ago. And people like you will become so rare it'll be impossible for you to exist." Zaheer said as she screamed when she fell into the lava and burned to nothing. (I think thats a satisfying way for her to die)
Minutes later
Zaheer, P'li and Ming-Hua arrived at the radio station.
"Hey, you can't be in here."
"No need for alarm. I just need to make an announcement to the entire city. How do I do that?" Zaheer asked.
"Who do you think you are?"
Ming-Hua grabbed him by the throat.
"He's the man who just took down the Earth Queen. You wanna be next?" Ming-Hua threatened.
"Ming-Hua, please. We're here to help citizens like him, not hurt them." Zaheer said calming her down. "Now, can you help me?" Zaheer asked making him nod before setting everything up.
"Attention, citizens of Ba Sing Se. I have an important announcement to make. Moments ago, the Earth Queen was brought down at the hands of revolutionaries, including myself. I'm not going to tell you my name, Cause my identity's not important. I'm not here to take over the Earth Kingdom. I think you've had enough of Human leaders telling you what to do. It's time for the Titans to retake that right and bring back the peace and equality they once made for this world." Zaheer said.
Ghazan was outside the walls that held back the inner ring before he lava bent it down before the people came rushing in all too happy to do whatever they desired to do.
Zaheer made his way to the cells before opening all but one. The one that held Mako and Bolin.
"I'm going to let you two go. But I want you to tell Kruger something for me." Zaheer said making Mako narrow his eyes.
Later
Sean and Asami and the crew arrived back at the Oasis before getting off of Godzilla as Sean took control.
"Oy I hate the desert." Sean said before Fawkes flew to him. "Hey Buddy. Did you miss me?" Sean asked rubbing his chin making him purr.
"He's not the only one." Korra said holding the twins.
"Korra! What are you doing here?" Sean asked in alarm.
"Relax. I'm not alone." Korra said as the others showed up.
"What are you all doing here? I told you to keep an eye on her at the estate." Sean said.
"Decided it was safer to keep her on the move." Lin said.
"Well...I can't deny that has logic." Sean said.
'Better to keep her on the move than in one place thats already been compromised.' Godzilla said.
'True.' Sean said.
"Hey Zuko." Sean said seeing him.
"It's been a while." Zuko said.
"Yup. So what are the rest of you doing here?" Sean asked.
"When Desna and Eska let Zaheer and the others go without a fight..." Tonraq tried to say.
"They what?" Sean asked.
'Uh oh.' Godzilla said.
"Desna said he had nothing left to lose so he didn't fight them." Tonraq said.
"Oh he's gonna lose something more than his face when I get to him." Sean said. (Oh boy)
"When that was over we went looking for Korra to protect her and Lin told us what happened." Tonraq said.
"Well...Things are going to get worse. I found out what Zaheer is up to." Sean said.
"Oh yeah? Why does he keep coming after me? Why does he want me?" Korra asked.
"It's not you he wants. He wanted to use you as bait." Sean said.
"Bait? Who was he trying to lure out?" Tonraq asked.
"Me. He knew about my history and what happened 30,000 years ago before it was revealed. In his demented mind He thinks I'm forcing Godzilla to remain inside me to use his power for my own gains." Sean said.
"Thats stupid. You two bonded willingly during the end of the war. Same with us." Ichi said coming out of David's back along with Ni and San.
"Where does he get that idea from?" Ni asked.
"Probably just making blind accusations." San said.
"He is. We both tried to tell him but he wouldn't listen. He's blinded by his view he won't listen and just thinks I'm switching voices." Sean said.
"Switching voices? In the Spirit world? Is he that stupid?" Korra asked in disbelief.
"Yes." Godzilla said.
"So did you hear about the Earth Queen?" Korra asked.
"What makes you think I actually care about that hag?" Sean asked.
"She's been killed." Tonraq asked.
"By the Red Lotus." Sean said.
"The what?" Korra asked.
"The Red Lotus was made by a former member of the White Lotus we both despised. They want to restore the old order of the golden years. And in Zaheer's mind the only way a new Golden Era can begin is if Godzilla and the other Titans who have hosts are set free. I get the feeling things are only gonna get worse." Sean said knowing the worst is yet to come.
Authors Note: And with that the Queen is dead united with her son in hell. Now everyone knows what the Red Lotus is up to. They want to release all the Titans that have hosts thinking it's the only way to restart a new golden era.
