Chapter 48 A new Threat
Its been 2 years since the end of the war between Keizer and the Kaiju with the former destroyed save one piece of him.
Since then the world was finally at peace as it was 30,000 years ago before Mark's actions.
All the old cities were finally rebuilt and under the control of the Titans once again with Metal City being the only one with Human leaders.
As for the group things had changed in the last 2 years.
For one both David and Asami got married shortly after the new historical Archive building was finished.
And a year after that Turok and Jinora got married since Pema convinced her husband to allow it since she wanted to see them married.
Of course Tenzin had to be restrained from doing anything rash to Turok. (She was 15 2 years ago and Turok started aging again to date her so they would both be physically 16 so no one gets confused)
And Sarah was still dating Kai much to Sean's annoyance since he still didn't like it much to Korra's amusement as she constantly kept teasing her husband about being the over protective brother.
Everyone else just teased the younger sibling while she mostly ignored them.
And of course Bolin and Opal were still dating after everything that happened.
Now all they needed to do was find Kuvira and Baatar.
Currently right now however though was another story.
Everyone was currently in the hospital since Korra who was pregnant for a third time went into labor.
"Why are we in a hospital?" Katara asked making Senna smile as she held her.
"Because you are getting a new baby brother or sister." Senna said.
"Another new addition to the family." David said looking at his wife who smiled seeing her with a three month old baby girl.
This was they're Daughter named Alice who looked much like her mother but had her father's blue eyes.
Alice babbled making Asami smile as she kissed her.
"After 30,000 years thats to be expected." Turok said looking at his wife who also had a baby in her arms a month old.
This was their daughter Tracy who had her father's skin texture but had her mother's hair and brown eyes.
Tracy cooed in her mother's arms making her smile softly
Tenzin was almost livid to see his daughter pregnant at the age of 16 but his wife calmed him down saying she was old enough to make her own choices and married.
That didn't really help.
"I thought Lemurs delivered babies." Meelo said making everyone sweatdrop.
'Again this kid is royally stupid.' Ichi said.
'Ya think?' Ni asked.
'Oy.' San said.
Thats when Sean walked out with a grin.
"Well?" Senna asked.
"Oh she's fine. Just resting. Now you three get in here. Theres someone your mother wants you to meet." Sean said as the kids rushed in.
Walking into the recovery room they saw their mother in a hospital gown with her hair back to its original length.
In her arms she holding two things in pink blankets.
"Mommy?" Katara asked getting up on her bed making her smile as she kissed her forehead.
"I'm ok. Just tired since I wasn't expecting this." Korra said.
"Who are they?" Hitomi asked making the parents smile.
"Meet your baby sisters. Yangchen and Kyoshi." Korra said showing their heads.
Both Yangchen and Kyoshi had white skin like their father but had their mother's hair. Opening their eyes Yangchen had her mother's blue eyes while Kyoshi had her father's.
"Aww." Junior said making Korra smile as Yangchen and Kyoshi smiled at their family.
"Why'd you name them after Avatars?" Hitomi asked making them smile.
"Well...Before I met your mother I dated Yangchen and Kyoshi. But it didn't work out. In fact all but Junior are named after people we knew. You were named after the first woman I ever loved." Sean said making Hitomi giggle.
"And Katara was named after my old mentor who passed away a year after you two were born. All of you were named after people we knew in our lives." Korra said as Kyoshi yawned making her smile softly.
A month later
Korra smiled as she fed Kyoshi while Yangchen was fast asleep in her crib.
"Everything has gone back to the way it used to be 30,000 years ago. All the cities are back and the Titans who ruled them are back in place. And there have been no problems since Keizer was defeated 2 years ago." Tenzin said.
"And now that Mark is no longer in play we can rest easy since his machines are long gone." Sean said.
"But something clearly is troubling you." Godzilla said.
"Yes, Well...One of the villages outside Manda's City of Scale City has been rather quiet. He wants us to investigate incase something has happened." Tenzin said.
"It's probably nothing. But to be on the safe side we will investigate to see if something has indeed happened." Godzilla said.
"Better to be safe than sorry." Sean said.
While Tenzin was loading up Oogi Sean was with his family.
"You three behave for your mother while I'm gone." Sean said to the oldest.
"Yes Daddy." Hitomi said as he kissed each one of them.
"Be careful ok." Korra said holding the new Twins who slept peacefully.
"Don't worry I'll be fine. I got Tenzin and my brother with me. And if we run into Kuvira and Baatar it'll be easy with this." Sean said pulling out his sword.
'I feel slightly insulted my father made that from the bones of my fins.' Godzilla said.
'Why?' Sean asked.
'It just feels insulting the remains of bones of mine are used for this for some reason.' Godzilla said.
'Whatever.' Sean said.
Getting on Oogi the group soon left to find out what was going on.
Korra put the twins in their cribs before kissing their foreheads as she left and activated security.
Heading outside she saw Junior and Hitomi playing.
"Wait...Where's your sister?" Korra asked.
"Which one?" Both asked making her eyes twitch.
"Real funny. I'm talking about the older one you two had before them." Korra said making them grin causing her to raise an eyebrow. "What are you two grinning...About?" Korra asked before widening her eyes in realization. "OH NO! SHE'S TOO MUCH LIKE I WAS!" Korra yelled in horror making them burst out laughing.
Meanwhile
Sean, David and Tenzin were heading to the village to see what the problem was about.
"So when we get there we'll see whats wrong and head back since I just wanna relax with my kids." Sean said before David noticed their supplies were moving.
"Hmm? I think we might need to go back before we go forward." David said.
"Huh? Why?" Sean asked before he opened it and Katara came out making him raise an eyebrow.
"Hi daddy." Katara waved making him sigh while Godzilla burst out laughing ad did Ghidorah inside David.
'HAHAHAHAHA! She's almost exactly like her mother 20 years ago!' Godzilla laughed.
Inside David the Ghidorah brothers were laughing like crazy.
'Leave it to Korra not to noticed her third oldest is missing!' Ichi laughed.
'Your not gonna let your daughter be like this are ya Davy?' Ni asked.
'I'm sure Asami will kill him if that happens.' San said making them all laugh harder while he rolled his eyes.
'Shut up.' David said.
"Oh boy." Sean said.
"Can I stay? Please?" Katara asked giving him the puppy eye look making him shake his head before smiling.
"Ok fine sweetheart. But stay out the way." Sean said making her cheer.
Soon they were nearing the location were the village was that Manda wanted them to check on.
"Ok we're getting close." Tenzin said as they passed a small mountain.
Thats when they saw the village in ruins which shocked them all.
'WHAT!' Godzilla yelled enraged.
'The hell happened here?' Sean asked.
'I don't know but I don't like it.' Godzilla said as they landed.
"David keep an eye on Katara. Tenzin and I will investigate." Sean said as they jumped off.
"Yeah sure." David said keeping her close.
Walking through the village they noticed dead villagers all over the place.
"How did the Titans not know about this?" Tenzin asked in shock at such carnage.
"This village was outside Manda's city. Some of the villages are slowly becoming abandoned to join the City. Eventually all of them will be abandoned. They never ventured out of the cities since there were no villages back then. They only sent supplies until it would be fully abandoned." Sean said.
"I see. But what happened here? Who would slaughter innocent people so casually?" Tenzin asked as Sean inspected one of the bodies seeing a hole in the chest.
"These wounds were made with Plasma blasts. Like from a plasma riffle." Sean said.
"Like the kind the Earth Defense forces have or those drones that the police and Mark's robots used." Tenzin said.
"Exactly. But the question is who got their hands on them?" Sean asked.
"Perhaps Baatar and Kuvira found one of Mark's bases and decided to sell them to cause chaos." Tenzin said.
"Your almost correct."
Both turned and saw Kuvira in hologram form grinning at them.
"Kuvira. Did you do this?" Sean asked glaring at her.
"Why ask questions when you already know?" Kuvira asked. (I honestly hate that smug line)
"Why?" Tenzin asked.
"This village had a special kind of metal I was interested in. I did of course try to buy it from them but the owner refused and threatened to call you here. So I was left with no choice but to take them all out while we got what I needed." Kuvira said.
"Kuvira...I thought you learned from your mistake with Mark." Sean said.
"Oh Believe me I have. The world does need Titans if Aliens like Keizer exist. But that doesn't mean they'll be in charge of all of us. I still share the belief they hold us back from true greatness." Kuvira said.
"Your unbearably arrogant like he was." Sean said.
"Wrong. I'm not planning to kill countless innocent people for my goals. Just a small handful for sure." Kuvira said.
"When I find you...I am going to kill you. Slow and painful. Both you and Baatar. I'm surprised he's still following you since he's lost everything." Sean said.
'Love blinds those to what they lose.' Godzilla said.
"He still has me. And thats more than enough." Kuvira said making him glare as he hologram faded making him growl.
Later
"You two are in so much trouble." Korra said looking at her oldest as she rocked Kyoshi who slept in her mother's arms.
"We're sorry mommy." The twins said with puppy eyes.
"Oh no thats not gonna work on me this time. You two are so Gro..." Korra tried to say before Oogi arrived and landed before Sean got off with Katara.
"I think you lost this." Sean said making her sigh.
"Honey I swear." Korra said making her laugh. "So what happened?" Korra asked making him frown as he looked away. "Sean? What happened?" Korra asked.
"The entire village was wiped out. By Kuvira." Sean said shocking everyone.
"So she's still at her old tricks?" Asami asked.
"Worse so. She's up to something new. She needed the metal from those mines near the village. Whatever she's doing I have no doubt in my mind its gonna be huge." Sean said.
"I say let her try." Varrick said making everyone glare at him. "What? She's only got a small handful of troops like say under or over a hundred. How can she pose a real threat like that?" Varrick asked.
"Well, he's not totally wrong about that." Lin said.
"She wouldn't attack unless she was confident in whatever she's doing. Maybe Mark left behind an army of machines incase his last plan failed." Reznov said.
'I wouldn't be surprised.' Orga said.
"I have a bad feeling things are only going to get worse. Kuvira is up to something. Whatever that is we need to find out before she finishes whatever she's up to." Sean said.
Later
Sean was in the mediation center looking at the ocean.
"You ok?" Korra asked making him sigh.
"Yeah its just...Every time things finally get close to going back to the way they used to be something always comes up. First it was Zaheer Then Kuvira Then Mark again now Kuvira is up to something again." Sean said.
"I know. But I think we both know this will be the last threat we have to face. Theres no one left but her. Everyone knows about the people of the past and the crimes they've committed. You and Godzilla will never let people like them exist ever again once she's gone." Korra said.
"Hmm. True. Still I got this bad feeling Kuvira is planning something big. And we need to be ready for whatever that is." Sean said as she held him close.
"I know. But I'll be right beside you the whole time." Korra said making him smile as he held her close before chuckling lightly. "Whats so funny?" Korra asked.
"I remember when you were just a little girl 20 years ago. Look at us now. Married and five beautiful kids. And I've finally moved on from my past and learned the truth about what happened all those years ago." Sean said making her nod.
"Yeah. Funny how things work out." Korra said. "Back before we met I couldn't wait to be the avatar thinking I was really gonna change things." Korra said.
"And you have. In so many ways in such a short time. I couldn't be more proud of you." Sean said making her smile.
"And you taught me to be the Avatar I am today. But I would gladly give all that up just to be where we are now. And I know the world isn't gonna need the Avatar much longer. And I'm perfectly fine with that." Korra said making him smile as he held her close and kissed her. "We're gonna get through this and finally have a good life when its over." Korra said.
"I know." Sean said as they looked at the ocean.
Authors Note: And now a new threat from Kuvira has been made. What is she planning I wonder? Will she continue Mark's work in her own way. Or is she up to something even more dangerous.
