Season: Spring, almost Summer
Location: Unknown
Two hunters inside a hot, black car, waiting for any sign of the witch.
A young male and a younger female.
Silence.
Then…
"Amon?"
"Hm."
"I was just wondering…"
The young man always very cold.
"What?"
The girl hesitates a little before answering…
"I've always wondered why black things are so hot."
The hunter thinks very fast. He quickly thinks of his black outfit and blushes a little.
"Wha… what do you mean?", he says, trying not to sound so nervous.
"You know… the things that are in black, like this car, for example. When it's hot season, all the black things get hotter than any other ones in other color. Like our outfits. Why do they get so hot? Why does color black attracts warmth?"
The hunter instantly calms down and sighs a little. The question is just about Physics, science.
"Oh. Well…"
He takes a deep breath before start talking.
"Because black doesn't reflect the light like the other colors. This car, for example. The other ones, like white ones, reflect the light and, with that, they also return warmth. That's why they don't get so hot. But dark colors, like red, blue, and black, they don't reflect the energy as well as light colors. This black car gets so hot because it's not reflecting the light. The energy in light gets in it, with warmth. But because of the dark color, which doesn't reflect the light very well, shall I say at all, the car keeps the warmth in it. White cars, for example, reflect the light perfectly, and return the warmth with the light, even if it's very little. The same thing happens with dark clothes and objects. Our outfits are so hot because of the almost null reflection of the light and warmth. So, they are always hot, and dark hair is too. My hair, for example, as it is black, it's hot right now. And so is my outfit, and yours is too. If we wore light colors, we would be fresher now. Look at Doujima. She always looks fresh because she wears light colors. But returning to this car, it's also hot because of the green-house effect. The light comes inside the car through the glass, and then its reflected by the things that are inside. But the heat cannot get out, for the glass is a heat isolator. So, the warmth stays inside this car, while the light is reflected and returned. And that's why we can see things, because of the light reflected. So, everybody would be able to look at us through the glass inside this car, because of the reflection. But even then, the heat is right here, without being able to get out. And that's why black things are always so hot."
The young girl thinks a little for a while, with her eyes wide open. Then she takes out a glove and passes her fingers through her partner's hair a little bashfully. He shivers.
"Wow, it's true…", she says, childishly.
He sighs.
"Is-is everything clear?", he asks, gulping a little.
"Yeah… but…"
The older hunter frowns.
"What?"
"If black outfits attract heat so much, then why are we wearing black clothes in hot season?"
The man is silent.
"And why don't we open the windows? So the heat can get out…"
"Robin?"
"Yes?"
"Let's change the subject."
