Epilogue

There wasn't much that could be done and most were in to much shock to even try. Inwe sat at the edge of the forest hugging her knees to her chest trying to hide grief. She could tell the flames were spreading at an uncontrollable rate, and knew instantly that they would be leaving soon.

A light hand on her shoulder told her it was time. A quick jerky motion brought her head up and she found herself staring into the most beautiful silver pool she would ever remember. "Nae saian luume'," (It has been to long) Elrohir said grabbing her soot covered hands and helping her to her feet. He hadn't changed much over the long years he had been away, that much she could tell even through the soot that covered him. His hair, still long and dark, hung loosely in a ponytail stopping at the base of his neck with a few pieces that had freed themselves hanging in his face. Adorned in worn traveler's clothes, he was still beautiful, clean shaven smelling of lilac, forest, and smoke. This unmatched inhuman beauty explained by the pointed ears that revealed his Elvin heritage.

For the first time in what seemed like ages a smile graced her. A small smirk flashed across his features, vanishing just as quickly. "Mankoi naa lle sinome?" (What are you doing here?) She hadn't expected him back this soon, no one had really expected him back at all. Perhaps he had heard of their misfortune, but sill he couldn't have returned that fast he must have already been on his way. Lifting a hand to brush loose hair from her face she meant to turn away from him.

As means to stop her departure he grabbed hold of her wrist and pulled her toward him "Dolle naa lost, hin." (You're head is empty, child) Elrohir stated as if the reason was as obvious as the flames that were destroying their homes. Ushering her through the crowd away from the still expanding flames he pulled into a clearing.

Narrowing her eyes into a glare she snapped her wrist away "Tanya awra!" (That hurt) Her voice was loud and angry as she began rubbing the fingerprints from her wrist. "Mani uma lle merna?" (What do you want?) She snapped attempting to storm away again, to impatient and angry to wait for a response.

Elrohir didn't even have time to warn her that she was heading back into the flames before something in the heart of their home land erupted causing the earth to quiver and Inwe to loose her usually we kept balance and fling back into Elrohir and onto the ground. A last rippling power ring floated over them sending something of a floating sensation through their bodies before pulling their spirits from their normal resting places.
