Coming Home Tonight

Regulus leaned on the stolen motorbike, breathing deeply. He was about to lose it all, and for what/ Sirius Black. Why was he doing this? Snape had told him not to…he didn't want Regulus dead…but why did he care?

"Black you can't desert! You will die."

Well maybe I want to die!" Regulus snapped, glaring at the man standing across from him.

"If you won't kill your brother, then I will!"

"You won't touch him, Snape!"

"Come on, Black, come to your senses! Why would you want to sacrifice yourself for him?"

"I don't mean to be a sacrifice-I just-I don't want him dead."

Snape shook his head. "Black, you are an absolute fool, just like your blood traitor brother. Why should you die for him? Do you think he'd do the same for you? You know he wouldn't. He hasn't done a damn thing for you, and you're going to die for him?"

"He's my brother for God's sake! Besides, I'd die anyway, soon enough, so why does it matter why? And why should Sirius die to save a dying man?"

"Because he deserves to. I don't think you do, but that's what you're doing. The Dark Lord will send someone else out for him, he'll die anyway."

"Not if I warn him…"

Why ever Snape was trying to save him, it didn't work and Regulus was going to warn Sirius. He had temporarily stolen Sirius' motorbike and was outside his brothers' house to return it while his brother was visiting the potter boy and his happy home. He took a letter out of his pocket and stuck it there with magic.

Taking a pocket knife out of his pocket, he rolled up the left sleeve of his robe making his Dark Mark visible. Opening the pocket knife, he cut his forearm right through the middle of the mark. Crying out in pain, his whole body aching, he had the sense to Dissaparate somewhere that wasn't Sirius' backyard. In his own home he leaned against the wall, moaning in pain and clutching his left arm. Then he slowly slid down the wall. He was coming home tonight, wherever home was…

OOOOOooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooOOOOOO

The next time Sirius would use his bike would be to fly to the Potters' in complete despair, where he would give it to Hagrid, never to be seen again. The letter Regulus put on it read as follows:

Dear Sirius,

I have three things to tell you before I die. This is doubtlessly the last time I will be able to communicate with you before I die, so pay attention.

First, you are in danger-more than usual. The Dark Lord wants you dead, and when he wants someone dead, they die. The only reason you are still alive is because he wanted me to kill you, and I wouldn't. Find someway to live, won't you?

Second, I always considered you my brother and loved you as such. It was only when my affections were so ill received that I stopped showing them-that doesn't mean they disappeared.

Thirdly, you will remember me, won't you? I would remember you if you died, I remembered you when you were dead to my family. I'm sorry I'm such a disappointment.

Regulus Antares Black

But as Regulus faded and died, the spell holding the letter was broken and it blew away
