A small drabble about the aftermath of Godzilla's attack in the first movie and its aftermath on the general survivors many years later. Please read and review.

Forever On Guard.

Ever since that horrific day in November 1954, there have been a few who have always watched the horizon for any sign of the resurrection of the culprit of that tragedy.

They still bear the scares of that day whether it would be physical or mental scars. Those scars have dominated the course of the path they would take towards the future in the hope of prevent such a catastrophe from occurring ever again.

To the rest of the world, they may seem like crazed lunatics predicting non-stop about the end of the world but the survivors know better for they did truly witness a being with the power of the gods and fueled by the darkness of the human spirit inflict more devastation on a world recovering from the devastation just nine years before.

No matter what path they took towards the future, it would always relate to preventing such a horror from rising up again or preparing the world to challenge the great darkness once it did re-emerge from the dark shadows of the sea.

Even when more public worldwide conflicts occupied the world's attention, they always continued to patrol the oceans of the world for any sign of the great darkness. For they all know the wars humanity waged itself did create the darkness that destroyed Tokyo on that momentous day and if it were to rise again, then the new war could result in humanity's annihilation.

For their dead loved ones and for their descendents (even when those descendents deride them in front of everyone else) they still continue to watch the horizon for any sign of that great horrific darkness. When they would spot the darkness rising up from the murky shadows, they would sound the alarm as loud as they could even when the rest of the world was deaf to their pleas. For to do so otherwise would dishonor the memories of those that died on that day and disgrace those that survived for wasting the time granted to them in the aftermath.
