Yuna set her pen down, fighting the flood of tears that threatened to flow from her eyes. Her hands gripped the desk as she grappled with her despair.
She was shaking, her eyes squeezed tight. Her pain, the overwhelming anguish, was getting too difficult to handle...
"Yuna." someone called from the door. Yuna froze. Paine, one of her closest friends and a fellow sphere hunter, leaned against the doorway. Her grayish
hair wavered in the faint breeze of the Thunder Plains, dripping from the rain. Her red eyes were calm and cool. "It's time." she announced calmly.
"I'll be out in a minute." Yuna replied. She rose, keeping her back to Paine. "Just gotta change." She heard Paine leave, and breathed a sigh of relief.
A tear dripped down her cheek. She wiped it away quickly. 'No time for tears now.' she told herself. She closed her eyes and tried to remember a happier
time.
"Yunie!" That was Rikku. "Come on! Everyone's waiting!"
"Coming!" Yuna yelled back. She quickly changed into her Songstress dresssphere and hurried out. THe pain, and her bitter memories would have to wait...
