Disclaimer: I would LOVE to own Loveless, but sadly I don't. ;-;

Two o' clock in the morning, Seimei's door creaks subtly open.

A hand reaches out from under the covers and beckons Ritsuka closer, though Seimei never looks up from beneath the sheets. Ritsuka reaches for the hand and allows Seimei to gently pull him under the covers, into his arms.

"Did the storm wake you?"

"Yes. Can...I sleep with you tonight?"

"Sure..."

Ritsuka feels young and embarassed and foolish for being afraid of the storm, but Seimei understands. Ritsuka feels small and stupid and childish for being afraid of many things, but Seimei sympathizes. Ritsuka needs protection. Seimei offers it. Ritsuka needs a lot of things. Seimei gives what he can.

Ritsuka doesn't like never having anything for Seimei in return.

The rain falls harder outside.

Ritsuka cannot give comfort when Seimei is afraid.

Pitter, pitter patter against the window pane.

Ritsuka cannot give understanding when Seimei feels abashed.

The wind picks up.

Ritsuka cannot give Seimei protection, if he even needs that.

Whipping at the trees.

But Ritsuka can give love and appreciation.

The storm is nice right now.

Seimei likes that.

"Seimei?"

"Yes?"

"Can...Can I sleep with you tomorrow?"

"I'd like that."

Seimei likes a lot of things about Ritsuka. That's all he needs.

I admit it, my fic sucks. It sounds more like a scene between SOUBI and Ritsuka instead of Seimei, but I still like the idea I had for this fic. I thought it was cute. Of course my terrible writing skills had to kill the thing.
