Canon Finale

Sora felt heavy. His body struggled to move as his vision was at first very blurry, unfocused even as he tried to look at his body. 'God...What happened to me?' Sora wondered as he tried to force himself to at least get up to a sitting position as he used the robotic arm to do so, the only limb that didn't feel as slow and sluggish as he did as he slowly rubbed his eyes, trying to focus on something as he barely could see.

"Where the hell am I?" Sora said, hearing his own voice echo as he was alarmed by this at first before relaxing himself on the ground. He shouldn't be forcing himself to move as he knew very well that overexerting himself was going to be a bad idea. It was then that he felt a stinging pain as he looked down and saw a hole on his chest as he touched it out of surprise. "A hole? That's...not supposed to be there." Sora said as the realization of something not supposed to be there told him that something was very wrong with him and that he should check on himself to make sure he was not feeling weird.

It was then he felt a similar shape hole right at his back. This suddenly raised his adrenaline enough to clear his eyes as he realized he was surrounded by white, his vision now clear as all he saw was white. The ceiling if there was a ceiling was white, the walls around him were white and the ground he stood on were white. He didn't know where he was but he was most likely in a new place he had never been before.

"How the hell did I?.." Before Sora could finish his thought, another thought came racing down to shut it down as he realized what had just happened as he felt a sudden painful sensation strike him in the chest as he dropped down on the ground and began to cough violently. As he did so, he could see black blood come out of his mouth as his mind was able to piece the clues that were placed in front of him. "Oh my god… I'm...I'm dead?" Sora muttered as the shock barely wore off as he began to search around for a mirror to look at.

As if someone was reading his mind, a mirror that he not seen before suddenly made itself manifest as he walked towards it, stumbling greatly as his feet felt weak. Dropping down right in front of the mirror, Sora looked at it directly as he finally saw it. His naked chest was present in front of him and right where his heart should have been, a gigantic hole that allowed him to see past his back as a series of what looked like crystals had formed around as out of instinct, he touched the crystals only to see them flake off his body.

This only raised the panic that was inside him as he stumbled back a few steps, shocked by what he had touched feeling real as he shook his head even more. "I'm...I'm supposed to be dead...right? So… how am I?..." Sora's mind struggled to make sense of what he was experiencing. He knew very well a wound like this was supposed to kill a normal person. There is no way anybody has survived without their heart clearly having a hole right down the middle.

Curious as to what he was experiencing, he extended out his human finger to go deep into the hole and touch around it. He could feel a gentle throbbing that sent a shiver down his spine as his heart was still beating, despite the hole on his chest. "Am...Am I dreaming?" Sora questioned to himself as he wasn't sure how to take what he was experiencing. Was this truly a dream like he had all those years before randomly with Amy? Or was this something entirely different from that?

"I'm...I'm dead right? I am supposed to be?… right?" Sora questioned, his mind struggling to process the whole concept of what he was experiencing right now as he was simply unsure as to what was going on right now. "No...No this has to be a dream…." Sora muttered as he shook his head, slapping himself and some sense back as blood spewed out of his mouth. What he had done to himself had felt real, it was no dream since he remained awake and didn't suddenly wake up out of some other place entirely.

Sora soon sat down on the ground, his mind trying to process what he was experiencing. What he was experiencing was clearly impossible. How can someone live with a hole in their heart. He had to be dead, there was no other way about it… yet he was still breathing, still moving, still able to talk even. If he wasn't dead or Alive, then what is he currently? "H-Hello!? Anybody there!?" Sora yelled, hoping to get a voice to respond to the confusion that was growing in him but no response came.

"Dammit!" Sora yelled as he slammed his hand down on the ground furiously as he tried to calm himself down with a series of small breaths. There was no point twisting and turning on this, he needed to figure out what was going on with him and immediately. The longer he allowed this to fester in his mind the more indecisive he was going to become. "I...I need more info about this place. Before I do anything." Sora said, hearing his own voice echo through his vast landscape.

"Right...So the place I am at is mostly white…. And a mirror just appears out of nowhere..." As soon as Sora said that out loud, he immediately slammed his head on the ground, frustrated by what he had been trusted into as he could feel the frustration take over his thoughts. He slammed his head on the ground once again to stop the negative thoughts from overwhelming his general common sense. He took a deep breath as he decided to instead check on his person, ripping off his shirt to see that much to his relief, the necklace he wore to remind him of Makoto Nanaya was still there.

"Makoto..." Sora said as his hand drifted towards the necklace, picking it up as he stared at the crest that represented Makoto's drive. He still remembered the day that he gave it to her, the day that the two left for their own life paths. She chose to continue pursing a career in the NOL, working her way up to support her family. He decided to go out the world to try and discover himself, discover something beyond just being a fighter.

"All those years… only to learn I am some sort of sacrifice… What kind of bullshit is that?" Sora muttered as he clenched down on his necklace, tears emerging out of his eyes as said tears landed right on the necklace itself, forcing him to wipe the tears off it as he tried to not dwell on what he was being given, The fate that he was forced to endure, forced to suffer through, everything, he just wanted to know. What was he experiencing and is it all real?

At this point, Sora was just feeling tired. He laid himself on the ground, his mind racing with the various revelations that were thrust right into his hands. Like how he was supposed to be erased so that he could save another life. How his life did not even matter because all of it was being used to just give one of his recently deceased friends a second chance in life. Sora didn't know if he should feel glad to have his life sacrificed to save Hunter despite the fact that Hunter himself doesn't even know who he is? Or pissed off that his life was being played with by a god in the first place.

"Who the hell thinks they are… playing god like this… so fucked up." Sora muttered as he rubbed his eyes, feeling them become slightly sore in the process as he closed his eyes for a bit. How… how was his life compared to Hunter's considered insignificant? He lived a normal life, he had friends and family that cared about him. Sure they aren't related by blood, hell he still doesn't know much about himself but at the same time he deserves to be able to discover who he truly is.

Sora then began to slam the robotic fist of Relius Clover's arm on the ground, hearing loud echoes in the process as he began to sniff. The emotions he had to keep bottled, he had to seal up to prevent them from clouding his judgement, they started to come out as his own frustrations grew. He couldn't believe what his life had come to. From having a girlfriend he cares for, a place to call home, a sense of journey to discover who he was, to now being in the middle of nowhere, everything he ever cared for stripped away from him and the journey of self discovery he took being rendered irrelevant because of some crazy shenanigans that the world decided to play on him.

"...Fuck all of that. I need to get back. I need to get back to her." Sora said as he clenched human hand tightly around the necklace as he found the strength to stand up and look ahead of him. "Nothing going to stop me from getting out of...Whatever this place is. I need to get back to Makoto." Sora said as he released his hand on the necklace, allowing it to dangle right on his neck as he looked at the path that was ahead of him.

A small mist had managed to roll it's way towards him, Where this mist came from he just did not care at this point. All he knew was that this mist was simply in his way. Anything and everything that stood in his way to get back towards Makoto was going to be pushed by the side. "If this is truly death… then fuck it. I am coming for you Makoto." Sora said, determination in his eyes as he started walked towards the hazy path that was in front of him.

...Determined to reunite with his loved one…

"How Is the error doing Es?" Amy questioned as she and Es were in a vast black field of nothing. There was life in sight as the blond haired girl simply turned around towards her friend's voice. "I detect no vital signs coming from his body. He is deceased." Es said as Amy lowered her head. "So… that means that the timeline is going to be rewritten." Amy said as she soon floated right towards Es, looking at what Es had done.

For a tiny girl, Es wielded a massive blade that was easily large enough to slice a man in half. Sora himself did not die from this massive blade but from a series of crystals that had grown and pierced through his chest. His body floated in the black space lifelessly as Amy simply looked away. "Then what are we doing here? The Azure is going to turn him back into data and return him back to the sea of souls. We've already done our job. We should just leave him here in peace." Amy said, wanting to just leave right now.

She felt just so wrong. She never did question a lot of the Master Unit's reasoning. She just went with it. Hell she doesn't even question the reason as to why the Errors need to exist, figuring it was just a necessary sacrifice that needed to be made to save people. But for Sora of all people to suffer the fate of an Error? Amy did not know how to feel about that. She grew close to the man just so she could lure him and get him killed. Her conscious did not sit well with that fact in her mind.

"Indeed...However I am detecting a strange object deep inside the Error." Es said as she hovered her hand over Sora's chest. As she did so, her hand began to glow for a bit as something emerged out of Sora. Her hand then grasped something as Amy floated next to Es and looked at what she had managed to find. "What is that doing inside Sora?" Amy questioned as she looked at the item that Es was holding. It was simply a handle of a sword, ornate in design as the guards looked like wings and there was a sharp hook at the end of the pommel.

"I do not know… However, I can sense the soul of the Error deep within this item." Es explained as Amy looked at her confused. "Wait a minute, inside… this broken piece of a sword? How is that even possible?" Amy wondered before shaking her head. "Then that would mean that this broken piece of a weapon is a..." "A weapon similar to a Nox Nyctores." Es summarized as Amy couldn't believe it.

"But it's broken, How can it still even store souls at this point? And how did Sora have this inside him and not know it was there this whole time?" Amy questioned as Es simply looked at the object, scanning it as she tilted her head. "Odd… I am unable to trace this to any weapon that exists in the known timeline." Es explained as Amy looked at her. "Exists? So it's unremarkable despite it's ornate design?" Amy said

"I mean that the item in question has absolutely no data on it. There is no trace of where this weapon was made or the origins of it's creation within any other known timeline." Es replied as Amy was shocked to hear that as she looked at the handle, now holding it herself. "Then that means...This weapon is an Error as well? Is that even possible?!" Amy said in both surprise and shock as Es shook her head.

"It should not be possible except if the weapon in question is or was in possession of a soul. A personality is required to be selected as a Continuum Error." Es said as Amy continued to hold on the handle with some confusion growing on her. "Then why is Sora's soul in it? Don't tell me that this thing is holding Sora's soul in now and became an Error just like that?!" Amy said as Es simply shrugged her shoulders.

"I am unsure how to process this series of events, however I am able to tell you that so long as the soul has a vessel to stay inside, it will not return back to the Azure." Es said as Amy looked at Es surprised. "Then you're saying that this thing… is somehow keeping Sora's soul intact?" Amy said as Es nodded her head. "Then there is also the fact that the Error's body has yet to dissolve back to it's Seithr form despite being in the Boundary." Es mentioned as Amy looked at Sora's deceased body as she placed her hand on his chest.

"I don't think… This is all supposed to happen Es." Amy said, a looming dread growing within her as something was wrong, something had gone very wrong. "Indeed. Once the Error had perished, all traces of his soul was supposed to return back to the Azure and disperse back into data. This new development is troubling." Es said as Amy then decided to focus on something else. "So what is going to happen to the new timeline? I mean we need Sora to be dead...right?" Amy questioned.

Es: Yes, But that is to just solidify the flow of the new timeline.

Amy: Solidify?

Es: There are two steps that come with the use of a Continuum Error when they perish. The first step is the establishment of the new timeline, the new connecting branches that form from that first point.

Amy: So with Sora's death… That means Hunter is alive again right?

Es: Yes. The second step is to return the data of the Error back to the world, to allow the timeline formed to have a structure. Without that data, the timeline created becomes unstable and more prone to change.

Amy: Change like Phenomena Intervention?

Es: I do not know, this has never happened before according to the Azure and all possible timelines. It cannot tell what is going to happen in this new timeline without this crucial second step. For what we may know, this timeline may simply just collapse on itself or other strange incidents will start occurring.

Amy: Then you're telling me that what we did is just going to be for nothing? That we sacrificed a life for absolutely nothing!?

"Please calm down Miss Amy, That is not what is happening." Es explained as Amy looked at her surprised before realizing she had allowed her emotions get to her. "The timeline right now is stable...for the moment. We must simply continue monitoring it and ensure that the timeline's structure is fully solidified." Es explained as Amy looked at her "Then what does that mean? What do we have to do?" Amy explained as Es looked at her.

"Erase any remaining traces of the Error from the timeline and find a way to free the error's soul from this so we can fulfill the second step." Es said, pointing to the ornate sword handle Amy was holding. "Easy enough to say, we still don't know what on Earth is this thing in the first place… Can't we just destroy it and let the soul out that way?" Amy asked as Es herself became curious and took the handle to try and do just that. She tossed it right into the air and with her blade, slashed at it, creating multiple crystals to try and shatter the handle.

As soon as the crystals reach the handle however, the crystals behaved strangely. The crystals managed to slice through the handle but the handle remained intact as the crystals shattered instead of the handle, much to Amy and Es's shock as Amy quickly caught it before the handle could float away. "It...didn't break?" Amy questioned, dumbfounded as Es stared at the handle as well. It was then a silver line floating out of the broken blade portion of the blade emerged, linking both the shattered weapon and Sora Minakaze's lifeless body in it as they witnessed Sora's body simply start to heal itself, a black mass emerging out of the hole in the chest to form what resembled to be flesh.

The two of them simply looked at each other befuddled as to what had just happened. "This...This is completely new and scary." Amy said as Es simply nodded her head, acknowledging the series of events that were occurring to be both out of calculations and as Amy had described it to be, scary. "The situation seems to have become much more complicated. It has simply solidified the fact that the weapon is tied to Mr Minakaze in some way." Es explained as Amy could only nod her head to that fact.

"I believe we must split up to focus on this. I will remain here with the body and continue to examine the phenomena. You take this handle with you and start finishing the rest of the erasure of the Error." Es said as Amy looked down reluctant. "Are… Are you sure we can't switch?" Amy questioned as Es simply paused before shaking her head. "You are the best person for the job, You remained close to the error and know everything about his life. You are also not as strong as I when it comes to combat so should the body of the Error somehow reawaken, I will be capable of stopping it." Es answered, Amy biting her lips because she knew it was the truth being told to her.

"I understand what we have to do is painful for you… But as guardians of the Azure, we must fulfill the will of the Azure even if it means putting aside the feelings that we have deep inside." Es explained as Amy quietly nodded her head. "Alright… We will do just that. I will go and handle things in the new timeline while you stay and protect Sora's body should anything happen to it." Amy said as Es handed Amy the broken weapon.

"There is also the matter of Makoto Nanaya… even if her memories are wiped out, the Azure has deemed it necessary to eliminate this version of Makoto Nanaya." Es explained as Amy simply remained quiet, biting her lips. "I notice the reluctance that is in your face. I can understand that you do not wish to eliminate her, but the fact that she is able to regain her memories of the Error simply put her at too much of a risk to allow living." Es explained.

"Why though? Why must we eliminate every trace of Sora even if he's an Error. The man's dead, there's no need to go this far." Amy said, trying to make sense of what was being given to her. "I admit I do not understand it myself. But the master unit orders us to do so, and thus I shall follow the will of the Master Unit to the end." Es said as Amy shook her head. "We could have ended things there with her but Rachel just had to take her away at the last minute… Just what is going on with that girl?.." Amy wondered as Es simply looked at Amy.

"In any case… I got to get going now. Might as well start doing so. Who knows how long this is all going to take. If we are lucky, it will be done in a few days, but if not, we will stuck here for a few months." Amy said as she began to float away from Es, deciding to fulfill her role in all of this as Es turned her head towards Sora and looked at him. "You truly are a unique case even for a Continuum Error Sora Minakaze. I hope that your uniqueness does not end up killing us all." Es simply said as Amy herself looked right at the handle of the broken blade that emerged out of Sora.

"Just How… How are you doing all of this just for one woman?.." Amy said as she placed the handle on her chest and allowed it to enter into her. As a guardian of the Azure, she didn't need pockets to keep stuff she had to hold on to. As she did so, she could briefly feel a heartbeat come out from the mysterious weapon as Amy shook her head. "I always hated doing this… but if I have to be the villain for this one time then I got no choice this time." Amy said solemnly as she looked towards the black void.

...Wondering what kind of future she was responsible for creating…

The 13th Hierarchical City of Kagutsuchi, before yesterday, it was simply known as a town known more for it's tourism than for anything else. Now it's story of a lot of things, the story of how the sky split in half, the weird way one side of the sky seemed to be blue and serene while the other was simply a big red fireball. All Noel knew was that Professor Kokonoe told her that they needed to leave Kagutsuchi soon and make it quick.

She looked down and examined the NOL coat she wore. She was now branded a criminal by the NOL department, they just had not yet announced it yet. It was then she heard footsteps coming her way as she raised her head to look at who it was coming from. "How are you doing Noellie?" A voice said as Noel smiled, looking at Makoto Nanaya as she walked up to her and sat next to her on the box she chose to sat on.

"I'm.. good… at least I have… both my arms right?" Noel said as she did not bother looking at Makoto's way as she scratched her head. "Yeah… Don't worry about it. I knew that this would happen working in the NOL anyways." Makoto said as Makoto noticed the sadness that was present on Noel's face as Makoto pushed up Noel's hair a bit. "Hey now… It's not your fault Noellie." Makoto said as Noel looked at Makoto, tears coming out of her eyes as she was about to say something but froze, choosing instead to remain silent as Makoto looked at her.

'But it is your fault that Sora's...' A brief dark thought came running through her mind as Makoto immediately shook her head to dismiss it. "In any case, it's good to see that you're alright Noellie." Makoto said as Noel herself smiled hearing that. "Yeah… It is." Noel said as Makoto decided to further ask questions from here. "So what's your plan from this point onwards… Noel Vermillion, fugitive of the NOL?" Makoto asked, speaking in a more western style voice as Noel simply chuckled hearing that.

"Well there, all I know is we got to keep going on the road, after taking care of some final things here, We're going to be flying off to parts unknown for a while." Noel said as Makoto simply nodded her head. "Mhhmm Partner. That right huh?" Makoto said as Noel chuckled some more before deciding to be a little serious. "You sure you don't want to come along? We could use the company." Noel questioned as Makoto smiled.

"Well.. I would love to and normally I would… But I got my own issues… demons to fix." Makoto said as she reached out and pulled from her back a unique weapon that Noel had never seen before. It was a normal looking blade but the handle was completely different from anything she had ever seen. It was a motorcycle handle, complete with the brake but the overall design of the blade was just something unique with how it looked.

"And you can't do those things with us?" Noel questioned as Makoto herself stared at the blade for a little while. "I… I really need some time on my own to fix my own mess. I don't mind getting help… just...you're not the right person for my current issue." Makoto said as Noel looked down, nodding her head at that. "Hey now… Don't worry. When I need your help I will call for you alright. Besides, I still will need your help in making Tsubaki's alright." Makoto said as Noel looked at her surprised to hear that as she nodded her head at that.

"Hey! Noel! Makoto!" A voice shouted as the two girls turned their heads towards the sound of the voice. Noel had a smile on her face while Makoto had a bit more of a mixed expression on her face as she patted Noel's shoulder. "I'm going to get going now. I got some other things I need to do before I go." Makoto said as she walked towards the person who had shouted as she wanted to see them face to face as she took a few deep breathes as she did so.

As she stood in front of the person in question, her eyes simply looked up and down. "Wow… For a person who died… you look really...well." Makoto joked as her eyes were focused on the man in front of her, his body no longer looking like a shambling wreck being held together by duct tape and now He looked like he was back in the Academy. Hell if it wasn't for the robotic arm that was on him she would have mistaken Hunter Long to be a version of him that got younger.

"So ummm… the black hair was some kind of phase?" Makoto questioned as Hunter scratched his head. "Yeah… A phase… I don't know if I would call it that but you know… Let's just accept the fact that somehow I managed to survive being swiss cheese and became younger in the process… as much as that makes so little sense to me." Hunter said, clearly trying his best to lighten up the mood as Makoto struggled to make a smile, mustering a simple smirk instead.

'...Somehow surviving? Maybe try being given a free get out of death free card instead thanks to the gods playing sacrificial lamb to my boyfriend.' "Maybe so. But hey, at least you're still alive at the end of the day." Makoto said as she hugged him, making sure she could feel him and that this was no dream as Hunter simply hugged back. "In all seriousness though… you sure you don't want to come along with me, Noel and the Red Devil? We could use more company." Hunter said as Makoto simply kept the hug as she nodded her head.

"Yeah, I got some stuff that I need to do on my own. Don't worry, if anything happens, the professor will be able to contact me." Makoto said as Hunter looked at her for a moment before looking at Tager, gesturing for him to go to Noel as he rubbed Makoto's back. "At least it's good to see that you're still fine… despite missing an arm." Hunter said before noticing the weapon behind her back. "Did… Did you always use a sword?" Hunter questioned loudly as Makoto looked at it for a moment. "I keep it… more for memento sake." Makoto explained as Hunter simply nodded his head before breaking the hug.

"If...If you need us, you will contact us right?" Hunter questioned as Makoto simply looked at him as he extended a hand towards her, gesturing to her that he wanted to shake her hand to seal the deal as she paused for a second before smiling and shaking the peace offering. "Of course Hunter. I promise. Just make sure when you need help with something you and Noel don't hesitate to contact me alright." Makoto said as Hunter smiled.

"Just not right now?" Hunter said as Makoto was surprised to hear that as he scratched his head with his human arm which Makoto had seen was clearly gone. "Yeah.. I got my own stuff going on right now. A message to me is fine… Just don't expect any phone calls be answered for a while." Makoto explained as Hunter looked down for a bit before nodding his head. "What's on your mind Hunty? You seem a bit off." Makoto questioned as Hunter immediately cleared his throat hearing that.

"N-Nothing! Just thinking about random stuff. I will leave you now. You take care out there Makoto. Just don't get killed out there alright." Hunter said, patting Makoto's shoulder as he walked towards Noel as Noel looked at her, waving at her to signify goodbye as Makoto smiled before waving back as she soon turned away, making sure that Hunter and Noel didn't see her face suddenly sour as the memories of what she had learned in that white room with gigantic doors.

"You sure you do not want to see them off? It will probably be some time before you will get the chance to meet up with them once again." Rachel questioned as Makoto slowly turned to see Hunter and Noel walk towards the airship that Professor Kokonoe had provided them thanks to her Sector Seven connections. "I...I want to don't get me wrong. It's just...after what I heard from that girl… I'm just..." Makoto hesitated to finish her statement as she looked at her remaining hand, shivering before placing it on the Rev Blade, gently caressing the weapon by it's handle as she stroked it slowly.

"Why...Why did you even save me? Don't you work for them?" Makoto questioned as Rachel softly smiled and shook her head. "I do not work for the Azure directly. I am merely someone who is supposed to observe the changes around the world, record them to the timelines and follow a group of people who I record specific timelines about." Rachel said as Makoto understood that Rachel was simply clarifying her role as an observer as Makoto scratched her head.

"You know I asked you about why you saved me, not your job right?" Makoto questioned as Rachel smirked. "Because I can tell that you would ask me more about my job as an observer and I figured it would be easier to let you know rather than waste the details." Rachel explained as Makoto was about to retort but stopped as Rachel's statement surprisingly made sense. "At least you saved me the later questions I guess? In any case, I do have some questions for you before I go myself." Makoto said as Rachel snapped her finger as Nago the cat formed itself into a nice chair for her to sit on.

"Why go ahead Miss Nanaya. Ask away." Rachel said as Makoto sat back down on the crate as she took a deep breath. "Firstly… judging by how the timeline has changed with the obvious change… that means Sora's dead right?" Makoto asked as Rachel simply nodded her head, biting her lips as she had to confirm something. "So why aren't my memories of Sora gone already? If he's dead, then the Azure has to have an easy time already erasing his past then." Makoto continued as she waited for Rachel's answer with as much patience as she could afford to give her.

Rachel: Erasing a person is not as simple as going into a couple of people's memories and simply removing Mr Minakaze from their consciousness. There are a couple of factors that go into memory erasure.

Makoto: Just make it 3. We don't have that much time to go over every single reason.

Rachel: Hmph. Very well then. Firstly, any involvement that the person who is designated to be a Continuum Error needs to be erased not only just from the current timeline, but all timelines. This means that any and all actions they could have possibly taken must be erased.

Makoto: Wait a minute, so they aren't just erasing a version of Sora which is my Sora… But every single Sora from the timeline?!

Rachel:Indeed, this is simply to assure that there are no negative consequences to a singular individual disappearing from one timeline thus resulting in several timelines struggling to fill in the gaps. It's much easier to just make 1 person disappear from every single timeline rather than fill in the gaps made by a person disappearing from a singular timeline.

Makoto: Right…

Rachel: The second is that anything and everything the error had interacted in with their life must be erased. This is not limited to personal connections but also physical possession that they might personally own. Homes, property, weapons, ars magus they had created, anything and everything they ever had and owned would be erased unless the Error had already transferred their ownership of the item to another.

"Okay, so far what you are saying adds up to what I think this Master Unit thinks it needs to do to ensure that Sora is not a factor in future possible timelines… but it doesn't explain why it doesn't just do it all in one go. Why do it slowly when you have that much power in your hands?" Makoto questioned as Rachel leaned back on her seat. "And that has to do with the third and most important point the Azure must follow." Rachel said as Makoto leaned in, wanting to hear it.

"The Azure must be able to find suitable people to replace the Error in certain points in their life. The Black Rebellion must come into your mind when I talk about this." Rachel said as Makoto paused for a bit before realizing the gravity of the statement. "So The Azure has to comb through an entire timeline… find people, put them in the same position and alter people's memories about the event to fully erase Sora's existence." Makoto said, everything clicking as Rachel simply smiled.

"Then that means we still have time right!? We can find Sora and bring him back from whatever place he is being held at!" Makoto said as Rachel simply raised her eyebrow at that. "What about the possibility that Sora Minakaze is dead? Are you simply seeking confirmation for that?" Rachel refuted as Makoto paused for a bit hearing Rachel's words but she took a deep breath and shook her head.

"No. Sora has to still be alive somewhere. He didn't die there, he's still fighting somewhere I know it." Makoto said, her voice sounding hopeful over something that Rachel might be wrong about. "And what if we do not find Sora Minakaze alive and well? What will you do then?" Rachel questioned as Makoto paused hearing that before pulling the Rev Blade behind her back, her finger feeling it's razor sharp point on her thumb.

"I would rather die then… I know I still got Noel, Tsubaki and Hunter and I should be happy about that… but the depression I felt for years… all caused because I didn't even know that there was somebody I cared for… I just can't live with that feeling even if I forget all of this. I don't want to think I would go back to being that woman… that part of me I am disappointed about. A person who allowed their own insecurities and depression to get the better of their happiness." Makoto said, feeling like she just needed to vent out the emotions that were inside her before they got overwhelming.

"Pathetic isn't it? Rather than face the future, the timeline a god had created for me that might be better in general. I am willing to just toss it all away just for one person." Makoto said as Rachel remained quiet before shaking her head. "No, it in fact reminds me of a story. But I will save it for another time should we meet. Do you not wish to get going now?" Rachel suggested as Makoto looked at her surprised that Rachel was not going to try and mock her for her choices.

"Yeah...Yeah I do. Thanks for letting me know anyways." Makoto said, jumping off the box and sheathing the Rev Blade as she began to make her way towards the port for her own destination. As she did so, a portal formed behind Rachel as Valkenhayn, her loyal butler walked out of it. "You sure it was wise to not let her know that if the Azure is unable to find people to replace Mr Minakaze's place in their lives then it may mean the end of all possible timelines as we speak?" Valkenhayn questioned as Rachel sighed, taking the tea that Valkenhayn was carrying on her hands.

"It is not necessary for her to know that particular detail… besides, we ourselves do not really know what will happen now. This is also my first time observing a Continuum Error." Rachel clarified as Valkenhayn took the sipped tea and placed it on it's saucer. "Then shall we proceed to head back to the castle and ponder through your father's notes? He may have some notes regarding the Continuum Error since he had lived for so long." Valkenhayn suggested as Rachel nodded her head.

"There may not be much since all details of any previous Continuum Errors have to be erased, but father must have written in detail the results with each Continuum Error. Both for those who were used for minor alterations and those who were sacrificed like Mr Minakaze." Rachel said as she got off Nago, walking through the portal as her servants followed suit. The black portal soon disappeared as a couple of dock workers walked towards where the conversation had occurred to do their daily duty.

As they did so, Makoto Nanaya received a phone call from Caroline that she immediately picked up. "Your flight to Otsu's been booked. I'm sending the details to your phone right now. Just show it to the guard and he will let you in." Caroline said, Makoto hearing her shift at her chair. "Thanks for doing this Caroline. Sorry if it was sudden." Makoto said as Caroline chuckled. "It's alright, the boss always did things suddenly so I had to get used to it." Caroline answered as Makoto simply smiled.

"But still, if what you're saying is true and the Boss is gone now, what are we going to do?" Caroline said as Makoto lowered her head before feeling a brief breeze hit her in the face. It made her look towards the azure blue sky as she could see the airship Kokonoe had given Noel, Hunter and Tager to ride in take off as Makoto softly smiled. "We are going to find him, one way or the other. I know you didn't sign on for this when Sora hired you but it's what we got to do." Makoto answered.

"All this stuff you're telling me is really something to take in. Maybe I can get the bosses to convince my former boss to spill the beans about all of this stuff you're talking about. In any other case, get back here and make sure the Rev Blade's well taken care off, I need to get the data off that thing and start making upgrades." Caroline chimed as Makoto chuckled hearing the eagerness in Caroline's voice as she hung up the call.

"...This time, I will save you Sora. I promise." Makoto said, unsure of what was awaiting her in the road she was taking as she felt something touch her on the foot. Looking down, she couldn't help but notice something strange as she picked it up. It was the blade of some weapon but the strange part about it was that it was shattered from where it looked like where it would be connected from the handle and was missing the other half of the blade.

"What the, did someone break a museum piece and disposed it here?" Makoto questioned as she looked around, wondering if she should even be holding onto it as she walked over the edge and contemplated throwing it off. Despite the wavy, wing like pattern directly imprinted on the metal like a Damascus blade, Makoto did not feel safe carrying this around with her and slowly arched her back to toss it off.

But as she was about to fully throw it, she suddenly felt a brief pulse come from the blade that made her suddenly stop as she held it in her hand. 'What the… did the blade just...' as her question was quickly answered with another quick pulse on her hand that nearly made her drop the broken blade as she could see a brief wisp of silver aura emerge from the broken parts of the blade, immediately reminding her of Sora's drive as she looked at the item in confusion.

"Last call for Passengers to the 1st free city of Otsu! You all must board right now or we will leave you behind!" An Otsu Air attendant called as Makoto realized she needed to board the airship now otherwise she was going to need to book another ticket with Otsu Air. 'I'll have Caroline analyze you when I arrive in Otsu.' Makoto thought as she put the broken blade on her jacket's pocket and began to run towards the Otsu Airship.

...as the Canon comes to it's close… and the Distortions begin to form.

To be Continued…

Well, I know this will be quite a shocker for some people but let me set some things clear here. This story is not over yet, not by a long shot. I have realized that if I continued the story the way it was, the chapters wouldn't flow as nicely to read and it would feel like jumping around page to page as a result. I didn't like that so I decided to this instead. I know this is not the traditional way of doing things or the usual greeting, but I think it's time to be a bit serious at the end card

Think of this as the ending to the first part of this story which I will now dub the Canonical Error Story arc or simply put just Canon. This doesn't mean you will need to wait for me to post another story on the site and read that, the next arc of the story is going to go here and you can just stay subscribed to this story to keep on reading. I am just doing things this way so that if people want to read specifically the Canon Arc of the story or any future arcs I put under this story, they can do just that and not have to read what feels like chapters just to get to the specific arc that they want to read.

This way, you all can continue to read the story as it goes along while still being able to read past chapters without having to deal with the hassle of remembering which chapter was which parts. I don't know if there are any authors who do this but I felt like doing this for mine because I wanted to make the reading experience as simple and enjoyable as it can be. I hope you all understand this and enjoy what I have in store for the future. Stay tuned for the upcoming arc coming soon to a story near you.

P.S I was really inspired by this so I wrote this as an extra chapter. I am also going to be taking the month of December off for Cyberpunk 2077 so expect at least 1 chapter for next month instead of the usual 2 chapters a month. In any other case, see you around and take care out there.
