Distortion 23

The first thing Makoto felt as soon as her eyes opened was the soft feeling a mattress provides to a person. Well, not exactly soft as a one of the fancy beds Makoto would see as a kid but more comfortable than sleeping on the rock hard floor as she slowly sat up to process everything she was experiencing. For a moment, her mind was blank, trying to figure out what was happening. Then her mind was struck with a sudden wave of memories as she held her head in pain, feeling her breath be taken away at that moment.

Makoto at first didn't know what she was experiencing, she was slumbering and was slowly waking up only to suddenly feel a raging headache. It was then she took a deep breath and panted, rushing towards the mirror to look at her body to see that she was still herself. She panted heavily as she made sure everything about her was still her. Going as far as to strip herself naked, Makoto examined every crevice of her body, her eyes darting around to ensure that she was still herself and not another version of Makoto Nanaya that she had just stolen her body from.

'Missing an arm, Check. Inverted nipples, Check. Dashing good looks that for some reason caused you to remain single for most of your life and one of your friends is a hopeless womanizer who cannot take the hint? Sadly check.' Makoto hastily thought, ticking off the mental checklist she had made as she then looked and saw her necklace and picture and hastily took those to examine further. The necklace still had the crest of the man she loved still engraved on it but the picture looked blurrier as she had to place her hand on her head.

'This necklace...and This photo...it's all got to do with Sora right?' Makoto thought as she didn't know why she was struggling so much to remember Sora's face. She remembered his name but for some reason, his face was becoming harder and harder to precisely remember. The shape of his body was something she could never forget but it felt that the more she tried to press herself to remember his face, the more her mind was straining from the strain to do so.

"D-Dammit…" Makoto muttered, feeling a sense of frustration and pain rush to her head as she felt that time was beginning to run out for her. If she was beginning to struggle to remember his face, then what's stopping the Master unit from getting it's way completely with her. 'I have to hurry and complete this whole making us whole business otherwise it will be all for nothing.' Makoto thought as she couldn't help but slap herself in the face to calm herself down and breathe. Breathe and take note of her current situation and surroundings as she approached the spot where her mechanical arm and Rev Blade had been placed.

She briefly felt a pang of pain as she looked at her stump to see several veins popping out of her stump as she panted heavily, wondering if it came from her deciding it was a good idea to use the Rev Blade the way she did. Her attention went back towards the table as she noticed something that she knew she didn't have before. Her eyes were drawn towards the weapon that laid on the table, a katana that had a portion of it's small blade broken, leaving it a tipless blade.

"What the…" Makoto said before reaching out to hold the blade in her hands. As soon as her fingers grazed the handle of the blade, she felt her head hurt as she briefly had memories flash by her head to show her that what on the table was actually the blade that she saw that woman use in her battle against the man engulfed in flames wielding the flaming dragon tail staff. The longer she stared at the blade, the more dots began to piece themselves together as Makoto rubbed the temple of her forehead.

"This thing...This thing I saw in my dreams… it really does exist." Makoto said loudly to herself as she realized that her recent set of dreams/visions she had been witnessed to were real. They were actual events that happened in history that for some reason were covered up. Whether it was by the NOL, the Master Unit or they were genuinely lost to time, Makoto was holding in her hands what seemed to be the key to her finally having a chance to get Sora back, even if it seemed slim.

When she started this crazy escapade of hers, she had absolutely nothing and seemed to be a lunatic trying to grasp at straws. But slowly and surely she began to make more and more things connect, the long missing dots that were left behind were finally being connected and with that, her chances of finally getting to Sora were coming closer to her. Just one more thing needed to be solve in all of this. She knew the final part of this was to make the katana she was holding whole by finding or reforging it's missing tip back into a proper blade for her to use and that was enough for her to know.

'The question is how do I make this whole?… If only I had some sort of clue come my way…' Makoto thought but before she could finish her thought, the door was knocked. "Come In." Makoto said as she turned towards the door and immediately froze when she felt a brief breeze hit her on the body as Tetsu simply opened the door and looked at Makoto Nanaya with a straight face. "I see you are awake right now Miss Nanaya. May I ask if the way you are currently presenting yourself to me is how you normally choose to comfort yourself while you are in your private quarters." Tetsu simply said.

Makoto's face immediately glowed red as she tried to awkwardly cover her body with her singular arm, stumbling back before grabbing the bed sheet and covering her body with it as Tetsu's face remained stoic with him watching the sheer display in front of him with a look that simply said that he was slightly amused by the display in front of him. "I-I-I I AM NOT A FUCKING NUDIST MAN! I AM JUST A NORMAL WOMAN WHO THOUGHT THAT...THAT...THAT!" before Makoto could finish her sentence, she immediately blew her head's top as Tetsu scratched his head at the sight.

"You know… we are adults here. We have seen members of the other sex naked… unless you are surprisingly a maiden at heart despite your rather questionable choice of wear sometimes." Tetsu said as Makoto immediately blushed hearing that. "I-I MEAN! THERE'S NOTHING WRONG WITH A LITTLE MODESTY!? AND BESIDES THE CLOTHES I WEAR ARE THE ONLY THINGS THAT WOULD FIT MY BODY SHAPE MORE!" Makoto yelled as Tetsu took a deep breath and nodded his head at that.

"Of course, I would not question your choice of dress any further. But please do make sure to put on some clothes before you meet your guests if you may." Tetsu explained as this immediately got Makoto out of her embarrassed state and immediately made her feel tense once again. "W-What do you mean I have got guests?" Makoto questioned as Tetsu took a deep breath for what he was going to say next.

"We recently got contacted by Professor Kokonoe and in exchange for her help we were to tell you where you were heading so that she could send some people over to get you. We agreed and have told her where you were and a couple of your friends have come for you as a result." Tetsu explained as Makoto realized why Tetsu was the man chosen to bring this news to her. Zhang Pi would have downplayed the whole thing. Vlad would have made it sound so cheery and Sofia would have been her charming self and said it with flowery language.

'Regardless of those three, Tetsu's really the straight man of the Otsu Four huh…' Makoto thought as Tetsu scratched his head. "Just get yourself dressed and make sure you wait in the meeting room. We may have agreed for her agents to come for you but we didn't exactly agree that you were to leave with them. If you want, we can help you stay here if needed. All you need to do is say the word. Additionally, if you need to go somewhere else, Otsu Air is back online and ready to fly you to wherever you need once again without having to worry about getting shot by NOL Anti Air."

'Geez thanks for the reassurance my man.' Makoto thought as Tetsu prepared himself to leave the room so she could prepare as Makoto simply took a deep breath of her own. "Thank you so much… for helping me with all of this." Makoto said as Tetsu simply shook his head. "It's all we can do for a person who has been helping us for the longest time. You truly are an Otsunian citizen through and though." Tetsu concluded before leaving the room, allowing Makoto to tiredly drop the bed sheet on the ground and sigh.

"You mean my currently missing boyfriend is the Otsunian citizen that you guys should be relying upon." Makoto said as soon as Tetsu left as she sat down on the bed, her naked ass feeling the stiff mattress caress her butt as she thought about what was said and processed what she should do. Should she just go back to Kokonoe now and hope more leads show up by then? If she did that then she would just get locked back up by Kokonoe, defeating the whole purpose of her even running away in the first place.

So the main thing was that she had to remain independent and not act on the wishes of higher ups who probably just want to use her as some sort of spying mole or babysitter for someone instead. That would be an awful trade at the end of the day. There is also the Otsu four to consider and how she shouldn't keep on using their good will forever as they too had their own plans and thus needed the time and space to reenact them. She needed to decide at that moment if she was going strike out on her own to find clues on how she was to fix this blade or see where this meeting was going to take her first.

"Maybe I should go and see the people that Kokonoe sent to try and convince me to come back and help out with stuff." Makoto said to herself as she walked towards her clothes, freshly sewn back to proper shape and began to put it on. She was about to leave the room when she felt a sensation hit her as soon as she attached her prosthetic arm, right next to the arm was the mysterious Katana of the hour. She had no reason to carry it with her but felt that she needed to bring it with her, like a hunch that by bringing this more options would open up to her in the process.

'I guess I can bring you along… if that is what you want.' Makoto thought as she grabbed the broken sword and wondered how she was going to bring it with her. She then looked at her tail and checked the edge of the blade, breathing a bit of a sigh of relief as the blade was dull and thus wouldn't hurt her when she tossed said blade into her tail to act as a place to temporarily story this weapon with her. At least it was better than getting stabbed out of nowhere.

As soon as Makoto was properly dressed, she went to the room that she was instructed to wait in by Tetsu. Her face was still bright red over how she showed herself to Tetsu and felt like dying at that moment. She thought the first time she showed herself naked to Sora in the bathroom would be one of the most embarrassing things in her life and now this probably takes the cake for most embarrassing experience she will tell to her future kids in life if she ever remembers this.

She felt partially nervous to who Kokonoe had sent to try and pick her up. She could have sent over the Red Devil himself to just magnetize her and drag her ass all the way back to Ibukido and that might be preferable over the second option that was playing in her head and when she saw the door open and reveal that it was the second option that was coming to convince her that she needed to return, Makoto simply felt a bit of her heart drop in the process.

"MAKOTO!" Noel loudly cried as she rushed to give Makoto a hasty hug, tightly hugging her as Hunter scratched his head at the sight. "Oh Makoto my baby girl! What were you doing!? Why are you as red as a tomato right now!" Noel exclaimed as her face slowly reached towards Makoto's tail to give her customary fluffing of the tail which Makoto had to promptly stop before Noel accidentally place her face on the steel side of the sword inside her tail.

"P-Please! Y-Yamete mom! I am fine! Really!" Makoto immediately shouted, trying to defend herself as Noel soon shifted her attention to pounding her fist onto Makoto's soft bosom repeatedly as she soon shifted from concern to being moody for good reason. "You idiot! idiot idiot idiot Makoto!" Noel shouted as Makoto felt the rhythmic beating of Noel's fist right at her boobs as she looked at the two men who were watching in the room for further assistance.

The first was Tetsu whose face was just hard to read, like the cold steel look that she had come to expect from the man as the man simply left the room at the end to let her friend continue to pound on her boobs silly. The second was Hunter Long who was secretly stiffling a chuckle as he looked at Makoto with a bit of a sly grin underneath of his face. Clearly he was more amused by the situation in front of him and was not in any rush to do anything about it.

'Help me out you bastard.' Makoto mouthed as she didn't know how she was supposed to react to the situation in front of her and was hoping that Hunter would be of some help to her at that moment. Hunter simply shrugged his shoulders and placed a hand on Noel's shoulder. "I know you are mad at her Noellie, but beating her up won't help us get her to answer for the fact that she has been a rather bad friend and not telling us the whole story of what is going on. Especially with what you know Noel." Hunter said as his face returned to a more serious expression as Makoto knew she had some explaining to do at that moment.

"I agree Hunty… Makoto, you have been reckless for the past few days. I mean… I heard from the professor that you were in the blast of a cauldron. You could have died from Seithr exposure!" Noel said as Makoto simply sat down and listened to her friends giving her a lecture. "I agree that standing in front of a cauldron is pretty reckless. The one that makes me more concerned is you deciding to return back to Otsu of all places." Hunter expressed as Noel smiled a bit but kept her eyes closed.

"I'm...I'm sorry you two. Like I said to you Noellie, What I was doing was my fight and as much as I wanted to let you guys know. I didn't want to drag you both into my own series of messes while you guys were dealing with your own messy set of problems and I felt like it was going to be unfair if I pile on my own issues to you guys." Makoto said, deciding that honesty was the best policy at this point as she felt Noel's grip on her hand tighten as she took a deep breath.

"I understand what you are saying and I really did not want to pull the friend card but I am going to for this one moment. We are friends Makoto. And friends help each other with their problems. We don't neglect each other because we have our own issues to deal with. It's only together that we can be strong. Not apart." Noel said as Makoto couldn't help but be shocked by the maturity in display in front of her. Was this really the whiny crybaby Noel that Makoto knew? She couldn't really believe what she was seeing if she was to be honest.

"Yeah Makoto. No more secrets alright. We may have our own issues here but that doesn't mean you should go hiding yours from us. Besides, it's the least you can do after making me and Noel fly back to Otsu a few days after we already left Otsu." Hunter said, adding a light scoff to his voice as he suddenly felt his stomach get punted by Noel's kick, huffing a bit as Makoto couldn't help but freeze up a bit at that act. Noel simply continued to hold Makoto's hand in the same motherly way that she had been for some time, ignoring the fact that she had just gave her boyfriend a very painful looking strike that would knock her out easily.

"You heard him. No more secrets between friends. Alright?" Noel said as Makoto felt a chill come down her back as Noel's grip on her hands were something legendary indeed. "I-Indeed! No more secrets!" Makoto said as Noel smiled hearing that, finally releasing her grip on her hands and picking up Hunter and tossing him to the couch before taking her seat in front of Makoto. "So. To make sure we are clear on that, you will tell us everything that is going on with you. I especially want to know what is happening with our memories since I took a view of your memories."

Makoto couldn't help but freeze hearing that. She remembered Noel saying that she had a peek through her memories and saw things that Makoto was trying to keep secret. How does she explain something like what she knows to her friends. She never really thought about the words she needed to say to her friends for this very moment. "Well...if that is the case, maybe we should try starting from the beginning. To make sure we can get our bases secure." Makoto explained as Noel and Hunter simply nodded their heads at that.

"Please. I am pretty sure there is nothing you can tell us that would shock us." Hunter said as Makoto couldn't help but give him a look wondering about his choice of words. "Well I mean, we are currently dealing with a situation where our enemy is only the biggest organization this world knows being run by a little girl who just happens to have a resemblance to good old Noel here. What else could possibly shock us at this very moment." Hunter added as Makoto couldn't help but smile at his confidence.

As she began to tell Noel Vermillion and Hunter Long about her tale and the story that is Sora Minakaze….

Deep inside the Azure, Es was simply staring at something with interest in her eyes. As the guardian of the Azure, it was her duty to ensure that all potential threats to the Master Unit were promptly dealt with before they could become a big threat. Her attention right now was the thing in front of her, a circular black mass that had no distinct feature other than resembling an egg. Es would try to smash it with her massive sword if she had not tried to do so several times.

"How is progress with this." Amy said, floating down towards Es as Es simply shook her head. "Currently the progress of this black mass grown from the inside of Sora Minakaze is unidentifiable. Attempts to directly dispose of it via normal means seem to not have worked." Es explained as Amy bit down on her lips. "Not even after the Master Unit used Phenomena Intervention to stop that cauldron from engulfing the whole of Otsu in the process?" Amy questioned as Es nodded her head once again

"Dammit… How is this possible. And what about Makoto Nanaya? Did that phenomena intervention had any effect on her?" Amy questioned as Es closed her eyes for a bit before shaking her head. "She was affected by Phenomena Intervention like everyone else, however the Master Unit observed that she had managed to retain not just her knowledge of what had happened but also the memories we wished to erase from her returned as quickly as they were gone when the intervention ended." Es finished.

Amy bit her lip down when she heard that. Even Phenomena intervention, the one solution that the Master Unit had to normally wipe the world and it's people's slate clean had not worked the way it intended. Could it be because of whatever came out of the person that was currently slumbering inside this protective dome built to shield them from all harm that would come to their way? "So eliminating Makoto Nanaya and resetting the world after her death is truly the only way at this point." Amy said as she looked down on the vast empty black ground.

"Do you still hold some regret over our next set of actions?" Es questioned as Amy thought about it for a moment before she shook her head. "I have been preparing myself this entire time. Fighting her whenever I had the chance and going for the kill already. This latest revelation simply reaffirmed the objective we need to fulfill to restore balance to the world." Amy said as she looked at the black sphere as her hand drifted towards it.

"Tell me Es. Are we in the wrong for wanting to give Makoto Nanaya the freedom she deserves? To free her from all the truths of the world?" Amy questioned as Es tilted her head a little hearing that. She didn't respond immediately upon hearing that as she gave her next set of thoughts careful consideration. "We aren't wrong for wishing for the happiness of the world and it's inhabitants. Most people do not know what they wish for in their life and it is our duty to try and guide them towards a fulfilling life rather than give them something impossible." Es said as Amy nodded her head hearing that.

"Hearing that from you. I cannot help but feel a bit of relief." Amy said as Es reached out with her hand to touch the black mass. "In the case of Makoto Nanaya however, It seems that she seeks the most difficult path possible to reach her goals. Her wish of happiness a futile one and cannot be granted. Thus as cruel as it is, we must do our duty to protect the Master Unit and hope her soul can find peace in another timeline once her data has been given." Es continued as Amy paused hearing that, placing a hand on her chest when she heard that.

"And when we do so, we must choose to remember this version of her the way she lived. Not for what actions she made but what her life's purpose for. For it is our duty as the guardians of the Azure to learn and inherit the desires of those that saw the truth of this world." Es concluded as she turned to face the infinite black mass in front of her. "In which case, you must finally achieve what we have been trying to do and sever the life that is known as Makoto Nanaya and bring her soul back to the Azure. If we fail and she were to reunite with the Error, who knows what kind of untold damage would be done." Es said as Amy simply nodded her head at that, turning back to look at the orb in front of her.

...Keeping in mind said words as she prepared herself for her due duty…

"And that is the tale of what is happening to me and the person that is known as Sora Minakaze." Makoto said, finishing her tale as she sat back down on the seat and looked at Noel and Hunter. The look of both bewilderment and concern on their faces was clearly present as they were simply processing everything they had just been told. They had thought Makoto's problems to be something simple like her family being kidnapped and being held hostage by the NOL and the NOL was manipulating her to get what they wanted but the tale she told was something much crazier yet scarily enough, something they acutely understand was true based on the tone of her voice.

"...Wow… So Umm… yeah call me shocked here…" Hunter said, his mind clearly blown by the revelation in front of him. The fact that he had been living his entire life and was not aware that a person he knew was simply erased from his memory. The man that Makoto had been describing to him sounded familiar and now that she told him her tale, Hunter was beginning to realize that there was some gaps in his memory in recent times, gaps that he would have dismissed earlier but now was sticking out to him like a sore thumb as Noel noticed him biting down on his lip.

"So… This Sora Minakaze… have you made any progress in trying to find him?" Noel asked, also clearly shook but was the first to regain composure. As much as she would like to be surprised by what she has heard, she couldn't afford to lose her nerve now. She has been through so much already for the past few months and what she had learned was that rushing things would not help her in this case.

"Well...if you call what I have been doing for the past few days, coming back to Otsu, walking right into a cauldron and finding out that the Great Sage Nine has a cauldron in Otsu of all places, actual progress. Then yeah I have been grasping mostly at straws here to try and figure out what I need to do in order to reach where the gate is that Sora might be at." Makoto explained as Noel nodded her head at that.

"In that case, we should try got gather most of the clues we got here to figure stuff out. Lets head back to that cauldron and see if we can go through that place again." Hunter suggested as he reached out for the door to grab Tetsu who had been diligently standing outside, not able to listen to their conversation due to the room's padded nature as Hunter walked outside to discuss a few things with the head as Noel realized that this could be a possible moment for her and Makoto to talk things out.

"Makoto… I can tell you're hiding something. Your story, it makes sense until the reason. Please…" Noel said as Makoto gulped hearing that. She had hoped to leave out the reason to ensure that their relationship wouldn't be strained in any way. "Since when did you get good at spotting these kind of things huh? Man I swear my skills in intelligence must be waning if you are able to spot that I was trying to hide something from you two." Makoto said, sadness present in her voice as she took a deep breath.

Noel: It's neither. You can say it's a feeling but ever since we met again, I have always noticed that you seem tense, and especially back at Ibukido you were throwing punches harder than ever before.

Makoto:Do you really want to know?

Noel: I do Makoto. I am not a little girl anymore. Tsubaki isn't the only friend I have in my life. You too are an important part of my life. We did promise to save Tsubaki together but that doesn't mean I will forsake our own friendship in the process.

Makoto:...Call me Petty, But the whole reason why Sora, the person I love has to be wiped out is because the Master Unit wished to spare you the loss of Hunter. Hunter was supposed to die that day yet the Master Unit yet the Master Unit chose to spare his life by sacrificing my loved one instead. Do you really think that is fair?

Noel: Makoto…

"Do you think it's fair, that for the sake of saving a life that another would be sacrificed?! A loved one for a Loved one!? To erase the memories of a person just to try and make the erasure of said person easier for everyone!? I FORGOT ABOUT SORA MINAKAZE! I FORGOT EVERYTHING! AND I FELT LOST AND EMPTY!" Makoto said, pouring out her heart and soul for Noel to see. All the raw emotion she held back on Noel was now out as Makoto took a deep breath and took a seat on her sofa, her emotions finally allowed to roam free.

"I lost everything while you kept everything. How is that fair!?" Makoto added, tears falling down her face as Noel walked over to Makoto, taking a seat right next to Makoto and just remained there. Noel didn't say a word, what could she say at that moment? Makoto was right, even if she didn't know, the fact that the world sacrificed the loved one of one of her friends just to save hers, she would feel the exact same way that Makoto was feeling right now.

"That's why, I need to get him back. I am not doing anything noble here like saving the world. I just want to have him back in my life." Makoto said, expressing the selfish wish deep in her soul that did not care about the world. Noel at that moment placed her hand on top of Makoto's own hand and rubbed it gently. The two spent a few minutes in quiet peace as soon Makoto finally calmed down as she looked at Noel before hugging her right into her bosom.

"I'm...I'm sorry Noel. I'm sorry for feeling the way I do. I really am happy that Hunter's alive, don't get me wrong. It's just...It's just that it's not fair that while everyone gets what they want in life, I get the short end of the stick and the world takes everything I care for away from me. My hatred for you is irrational I know but at the same time, I am so tired of blaming the world for all of my problems that I just want to have someone I can direct all of what I am feeling right now towards. A person who can I physically touch with my hands. Even if it means hurting my own friend in the process."

Noel simply remained quiet, she could say a few words here to Makoto but she felt that silence at this point was for the better. A few quiet minutes later, Makoto took a deep breath and made Noel look at her right in the eyes. "I'm sorry… for being a really shitty friend here. God I cannot help but think about the days I was all alone, when I pushed everyone away. If you, Tsubaki and Hunter later on didn't hang out with me, I probably would have remained bitter and maybe not have met Sora in the first place. I'm truly grateful for our friendship… it's just complicated now." Makoto confessed as Noel placed her hand on Makoto's back and stroked it gently.

"I understand Makoto. I do to an extent. I still remember the day I went crazy and maybe killed Hunter myself. No matter how much I think about other things, the fact that these hands of mine were made to spill the blood of someone I love makes me feel sick. And how powerless I am truly when it comes to protecting those that I love when the world wants to cause pain and suffering." Noel confessed as she looked at Makoto right back at her eyes

"So I thank you for sharing your pain. And I understand that your heart won't heal immediately. Just knowing why you feel the way you are puts me at ease." Noel spoke as Makoto bit down on her lips hearing that as the two parted away from their hug and nodded their heads in agreement. Their friendship felt secured as they held each other's hands. "So while we try to deal with our respective burdens, lets go and save Tsubaki… together." Noel said with purpose as Makoto smiled at that.

"Since when did you become so mature Noellie." Makoto teased as this made Noel fluster and Makoto chuckle. It reminded her of the simpler days and how she yearned for them deep inside. For the sake of that tomorrow, Makoto will continue her own fight but this time with those around her guiding the way. "Maybe when we get Sora back, we can meet up again, catch up on long lost memories and smile once again. Like back at the academy. And not just us and Sora, but Tsubaki, Jin, Mai, Cajun, everyone we ever met in the academy." Makoto said as Noel smiled at that, feeling a sense of happiness come over Makoto as the door opened to reveal a Hunter who was sighing.

"Welp, bad news about the cauldron. Apparently whatever Makoto did to it caused it to completely cave in the room it was in. It will take time for them to remove the rubble that is blocking the way and by the time The Otsu four finish clearing things up, The professor would want us back." Hunter explained as this made Noel and Makoto get serious once again as they place their fingers on their chins. "But if we are running out of options to find out where Sora could be. What do we do?" Noel questioned as Makoto wondered what she should do.

As she wondered, her eyes couldn't help but be drawn towards the giant maw that rested on Hunter's hip. The Lost Nox Nyctores, Mucro Flagro: Draco. A weapon that was never recorded in any book yet in her dreams, she saw something similar to it and that was when Makoto began to piece things together. Makoto reached into her tail to pull out the broken katana blade that she had decided upon a whim to bring with her as she held it in her hand.

It was in that moment, Hunter recoiled a bit, sweat dripped down his forehead as this surprised Noel. "H-Hunter. What's the matter?" Noel questioned as she rushed to help ease him down to a chair as Hunter looked right back at the blade. "Makoto… where did you find that?" Hunter questioned, his forehead sweating even further as Makoto looked on with a bit of concern. "I found it originally when I was about to leave Kagutsuchi. Then later on back at the time we bringing Caroline away from Otsu, another piece was on one of the Azure's agents and fused with the piece I found."

As Makoto finished her explanation, she continued to observe quietly Hunter's reactions. His reactions were not his own. As if he was conversing with someone… someone who she cannot hear as she reached out to Hunter to try and place a hand on his shoulder only for it to reflexively push her back as for a moment, she saw a burning abyss stare right at her through Hunter's eye. "DO NOT TOUCH ME WITH THE HANDS THAT TOUCHED THAT THING!" Hunter's voice boomed, but it was not his own at that moment, something ghost like speaking in his place for that brief moment as Hunter panted heavily before grabbing Draco off his hip.

"Hunter are you alright!?" Noel questioned as his violent response was enough to surprise the two women in the room. Hunter himself panted heavily as he stared at Draco for a bit before he looked right back at the katana in Makoto's hand. "I...he knows what that thing is… and where we need to go to make it whole." Hunter said as Makoto's eyes widened as soon as she heard him say that. This only further confirmed that what she saw was true, that the staff that looked like a dragon's tail was truly Draco but in a different form.

"Or more accurately… Draco knows what it is… and what we need to do." Hunter said as Noel and Makoto could see his chest beat rapidly as they were now left with even more questions but potentially all the answers they need were presented to them. To Makoto if they just take it. "In that case Hunter, where do we go?" Noel questioned as Hunter knew he needed to calm himself down before they move forward. As Hunter took this time to calm down, Makoto's eyes were on the two weapons on the table, leaving Makoto to wonder about one thing.

.Were these two connected by some sort of fate? Just like how she is with Sora Minakaze?
