Distortion 36

Sleep had once again greeted Sora as he slept for the night. He, Bullet and Amy had decided to get an inn for the night to further flesh out their plans and make sure their goals were to be met. They had spent all night discussing things as Sora decided to go to sleep for the night. As his body rested on the soft mattress that his worn body was still not used to, he couldn't help but wonder what kind of dreams he would get on this night.

As he settled on the bed, he noticed that Bullet and Amy were already asleep, resting off the day's events as he decided to get the slightly larger room to let them sleep more comfortably. He was glad he did so as he would have felt weird cramming everyone into a singular room, less for actual physical contact like most people would think but more of the space that they would have needed. Regardless, Rest was needed and rest he decided to take as he closed his eyes.

Ready to let sleep take over him once again… hopefully

SORA POV

The first thing I felt when I open my eyes was the realization that I was in a dream yet again. How do I know this? The room that I was in was simply put, completely different from the Inn that I had been sleeping just before. Now if I remember right, if I am aware that I am in a dream, I should be able to interact with it but either I am doing it wrong or I am not in a dream at all. I cannot help but wonder what kind of place I have managed to find myself in as I decided to look around my surroundings for a bit.

The last time I had a dream, I was in some sort of laboratory and the last thing I saw was something emerging from what seemed to be a coffin. What I see now is yet again another laboratory like environment and all I want to know is what kind of place I was at in the first place. "Oh well, better not waste my time doing nothing and just go ahead and follow the flow I guess." I said to myself, reaffirming myself that I was just in a dream as I walked ahead, ready to see what was going to be shown to me now.

"How is progress on things…" A person said as I immediately stopped walking, wondering what kind of state I am in at that moment. "The setback we had in the lab was truly unfortunate, we lost a majority of the staff here except for the man in charge of the project." Another person spoke as I turned my head to see the two individuals who were talking approaching my direction as I simply froze, unsure how to react what was happening in front of me.

The Individuals then walked right past me as that confirmed for me that I was basically a ghost to these people. So I was sort of in a dream yet at the same time, I wasn't. I would like for a better explanation of what I am experiencing currently but regardless, I am just happy that this is indeed a dream and not another attempt by this god to try and wipe me out. The only question left for me is why on earth I am having this dream in the first place.

"Everyone except him dying? Sounds suspicious." The first person, a male scientist said as he pushed up his glasses. "I know right? Regardless we have to follow his strict commands. Him surviving means he's the sole person with knowledge of what we are trying to do." The second person, another male scientist answered as I decided to just follow them, not needing to sneak around as I leaned in to listen in on their conversation.

Scientist 1: I understand that but regardless, the fact of the matter of the matter is that he got everyone in the facility killed and we are now supposed to follow him completely.

Scientist 2: It's complicated I get it, but we just got to go with it. No use complaining to the higher brass too.

Scientist 1: Fine. What are we supposed to do now? They never really told me what we are supposed to do here

Scientist 2: We are here to ensure that progress on the project goes well. While everything went to shit, the head scientist and the project they were working on survived so the higher ups say that this is our chance to further our own goals.

Scientist 1: You mean their goals? We are just doing what they want us to do until we get the chance to go after our own projects.

"Of course, so stop complaining about it and just go with it. The last thing we need is for us to get kicked out before we accomplish anything here." The second scientist said as I couldn't help but wonder what these scientists are trying to achieve. What goal are they trying to achieve, what did they try to achieve and what was this project. Finally, why did this all have to happen to me right now when I am just trying to get some rest for the future battles ahead.

"Fine Fine. Let's just go and meet this guy already then." The first scientist said as I decide to keep following them. I did not want to waste any moment to figure out what was happening by standing around and staring into nothing and just followed the group of people as they proceeded to do as they were told at that moment. I couldn't help but become curious as to what they were planning on doing in the first place as anticipation grows within me.

Soon where I emerged was something to bear witness to. This laboratory was not just another lab like I had originally expected but an entirely new location entirely. The blinding white light was enough to make me squint my eyes as I tried to fight against the blinding light that was shining my way. Once the lights stopped shining my way, I was finally able to get a glimpse on something I never thought I would get a glimpse of, not even in my dreams.

A cauldron… but this one seemed to be different from the ones I have seen shown in TV and also the Kagutsuchi cauldron, this cauldron was much smaller, portable even, big enough to be squeezed into this small room. Normally the cauldrons I had seen were mainly large monstrosities that always seemed to be excessive in my mind, this cauldron still needed a large amount of space but from my rough estimate based on the size of the room I was in now, this cauldron was only the size of a small warehouse and even then that is still impressively big.

"There you two are! Took your sweet asses getting here!" A voice spoke as I turned to face the source of the voice. The voice came from a man, roughly around his early 40's late 30's, his hair already beginning to whiten as his square spectacles hid the color of his eyes well enough due to the way the light shone on them. Even if I got closer to try and get a better look, those glasses were big enough to completely obscure his eyes at any direction and not to mention the fact that it would be useless to do so while he is moving around constantly.

"Sorry Sorry. We are still trying to get around here." The first scientist said as the white haired, spectacle man sighed hearing that before much to my surprise, he smiled a bit. "I don't blame you, this facility can be quite confusing at times." The man said as I couldn't help but feel like I had heard this voice before… But where though? Should I even bother thinking hard in a dream of all places where I would more likely forget in the first place? I didn't even bother writing the last dream I had but for some reason, it still remains in my head, living in it rent free.

"In any case, I hope you took your time to learn the lay of the land because from now on, I am going to be much more strict with you two about your time management here." The older looking man said as the men looked at each other, wondering what they should say at that moment as the man realized what they were thinking. "Oh, over here, just call me Professor. It's a lot simpler and formal and at the end of the day, all the NOL cares is that we just follow standard procedure through and through." the man explained.

I couldn't help but be caught off guard by such an approach. I had heard taking things to a relaxed level at work but this is quite relaxed even for me. Whoever this man is, he must be really important if he could say what he is saying without much trouble. Regardless, It doesn't really change the fact that I am standing in a room where a cauldron this small actually exists. If a cauldron this small truly exists, why keep it a secret? There are dangers to using a cauldron but making them smaller should help lessen such risks.

Regardless of what I think about smaller cauldrons, another thing was lingering in my mind. Why was I getting these kind of dreams in the first place? I am pretty sure that unless this is me experiencing a previous life that I once lived that I clearly should not be having dreams that this vivid and clear for any reason. There has to be a reason, something to make sense of the fact that I am constantly having these kind of dreams in the first place.

"So have you two been briefed on what we are supposed to do here? Or do you need me to go through everything with you two again?" The professor simply said as the men looked at each other before sighing, clearly annoyed that they have to repeat themselves and make themselves look like idiots but at the same time, he was the superior officer, the man who not only had a higher rank to them but also could be a potential ticket for them getting higher up the food chain, for the sake of that at least they decided to do as he asked without question.

"We are here to assist you with the project that you survived in. That project being the usage of a new material in the development of Nox Nyctores technology." The first scientist said as that was enough to make my eyes widen at that. Did he just say what I think he just say? A Nox Nyctores with a new type of material? That sounds… impossible as all hell, Nox Nytoreses were originally designed by the Great Sage Nine in the first place. There has been no new Nox Nyctoreses since the Dark War.

"Specifically, we are using the Lux Sanctus: Murakumo Nox Nyctores as a test bed for this new project, with a Murakumo Unit being used as an experimental subject." The second scientist said as I couldn't help but shake my head several times before slapping myself in the face as hard as I could to try and wake myself up from the insanity that I was experiencing at that moment. The fact that I did not wake up in the Inn told me that what I am seeing is in fact really happening and I must be truly lucid dreaming something so wild that I must remain asleep… or even something else entirely.

"That's right. All you said is what you know so far. Truthfully, what I survived was actually the forging process. So we actually have a Lux Sanctus Murakumo as we speak." The professor said as the scientists looked at each other, even more curious as to what they were doing. I myself was becoming more interested in the process even if this whole thing had nothing to do with my current issue.

"So we have a Murakumo unit… why are we still needed here?" The second scientist questioned as the professor scratched his head. "Well it's simple really. We used a brand new method to create this new Murakumo Unit. We don't know how effective this method is compared to the old method we used. Thus why now we are trying to observe the stability of the Murakumo unit right now. We are not officially designating her but if things go well, she will be the 5th Murakumo Unit, Epsilon." The professor explained.

"Indeed, and that is why we must tread carefully right now." A voice spoke… a voice I couldn't help but tremble hearing. How can this be? Why is he here right now?! I turned around to the direction of the voice and my eyes aren't lying to me. The blond hair, sketchy ass mask and magenta hued clothing, That's Relius Clover! Younger looking as he lacked a beard but still! "Ahhh, Captain Clover! It's good to see you walking about like so." The professor said as I couldn't help but feel his cold presence hit me even though this was just a dream.

"Please. We don't need such formality since we are of similar rank but maybe you like me calling you professor hmm." Relius said as I couldn't help but shiver. The tone of his voice and the nature of the conversation is playful, but I couldn't help but feel a chill down on my spine as despite the lighter tone of his voice, the same man I knew him being still remained as his eyes went towards my direction.

"Come on now. It's just proper protocol around here… but I will admit, I do like being called professor." The Professor said as Relius looked at my way and I couldn't help but feel the chill on my spine grow into dread as his eyes… they were clearly looking at me. Was he able to see me through my current state? If that is the case, I cannot help but feel a trembling sensation as he was able to stare at me in my own dream.

"Is something the matter Relius?" "Oh do not mind me here, I just thought I spotted something that caught my eye." Relius replied as his eyes continued to lock at my general direction. He can clearly see me where I am standing right now. At this point, I should just stop with the whole dreaming thing and just admit that I am clearly in something that is in between a dream and reality. And that may be even more terrifying than a god trying to kill me.

"I see… anyways, what brings you here. Here to see the Murakumo unit project and how it's going along?" The Professor questioned as I cannot help but wonder what is going to be said next. "Indeed, It is not often you see a Murakumo be created, let alone from such an unorthodox method." Relius replied as the professor scratched his head. "In that case, help yourself to one of the seats we have. I was just about to bring her out." The professor said as I stood back and watched as The professor left for a bit, leaving the two scientists to keep Relius close as soon, I could hear the sound of metal rings clanging on each other.

It was then I saw the person I presume to be the Murakumo unit in question. She wore a massive coat that obscured her entire top and reached all the way down to her feet. Normally a cloak like that would be cumbersome and touch your feet constantly but somehow, she was using some sort of either Ars Magus or Magic to float off the ground as she descended down and stood still, the scientists and Relius looking at the woman carefully now.

"This is the prototype Murakumo that we hope will be the 5th model, Epsilon." The Professor explained as Relius walked towards the Murakumo unit and began to observe her carefully, his scanning them the same way he would have done to me so long ago. "Hmmmm… most Murakumo units after being born would need some time in a tube to get used to their new bodies but this one is already able to float it seems." Relius said as his eyes scanned the Murakumo Unit, the gigantic visor she wore obscuring her identity but her hair… it felt familiar for some reason.

The girl did not say a word to Relius, merely gazing at him as that was enough to cause him to react. "And she is aware of her surroundings and the people she is talking to as well? My this is truly an interesting specimen we have here." Relius said as the Professor simply cleared his throat upon hearing that. "Indeed she is… but we shouldn't be too hasty with combat data gathering just yet. She has yet to fully stabilize and I fear that such tests right now would prove to be more detrimental to our purposes rather than beneficial." The professor explained.

"And thus why your proposed plan to have her serve her type's original goal of being an observation tool of the boundary." Relius said as the professor nodded his head. "That's the plan. By having her observe the boundary for a while, we can observe any potential changes of heart the unit may have. Also if the core we used turns out to be too unstable and explodes, the boundary is vast enough that none of us would be affected over here." The Professor explained as Relius nodded his head at that.

"In that case, I shall report that you have things under control over here and have set up the proper procedures. You will not have to worry about any officials coming down for the month at least." Relius explained. "Well that is greatly appreciated, I don't really need the top brass breathing down my neck again. They keep asking me to produce results ignoring the fact that I survived an explosion to the face." The professor explained as Relius chuckled.

"Well of course they would, they are excited for the news and want to push you further, that's just how the NOL likes to operate. The slave drivers they are." Relius said as the scientists looked at each other while I looked at the conversation in front of me with not only more intrigue but also a growing sense of what the hell am I witnessing. "Now if you excuse me, that report will not write itself. As for you two, make sure you follow his every command to the dot. Any deviation will result in a strict pay cut do you hear me." Relius said as the two scientists saluted him as he left.

As he walked away from the group, I couldn't help but continue to feel his gaze upon me as he crossed past me and the chill that I felt returned. "Don't think I don't see you… little soul." Relius muttered as that made me feel a chill down my spine as he just walked right past me. So what I am not experiencing is a dream… or maybe… At this point, I can barely care anymore. With all the shit that has happened in my life, I have simply grown to note really care about what is happening around me and just focus on what is in front of me.

Well… I say that but what am I supposed to find in the first place? There's so many missing factors here that I need answers for right now that it would just simply put be a nightmare. The very least, I should focus on what is happening in front of me first. If this is a dream… or not a dream or… Whatever this is, I need to find a way back out of it right now before things get even weirder for me. The question is how at this point.

"So… now that we handled that business. What do you want us to do professor." The scientist asked as his friend nodded his head, both men eager to get to work as the Professor began to think about what he was going to make these two men do. He scratched his head for a bit before coming to his solution. "Why don't you two handle some of the documentation before we get to work. I need to stay with the Murakumo unit to do some tests before anything else." The Professor explained as the scientists looked at each other briefly before nodding their heads.

"Of course, we will go do just that." The second scientist said as the two men left, muttering to themselves, most likely how weird this professor was being as the professor sighed and looked right at the Murakumo unit. "They probably are thinking that I have feelings for you or something silly like that. It's just human nature is all." The professor said as the Murakumo unit looked at him, remaining quiet and tilting her head as she did not say a word to that.

"I know you are just born and all and you will find it difficult to communicate with your voice. But just know that vocal communication will be a key part of your duty." The professor explained as the Murakumo unit nodded her head. "In any case, as you have heard, you will temporarily have the name of the 5th Murakumo Unit, Epsilon. It's not officially your name right now but it will have to do for now." the professor explained as the unit named Epsilon simply nodded her head before reaching out for a pen and paper that was placed on the table and pulling the items to her hand.

"If that is only a temporary name, is there another name I can have for the time being? While I wait for official confirmation?" The murakumo unit wrote on the notepad as the professor simply scratched his head seeing her write. "...At least I am happy to know you can write at least, I was starting to worry that you would not understand me at all." The professor explained as the Murakumo unit shook her head at that.

"I can clearly understand you. As you have said, I am currently attempting to develop my vocal capabilities. I apologize for my failure to be speaking sooner." The unit wrote back as the Professor scratched his head. "You know… for something that was just born recently, you sure are quite the talkative one. You will probably talk someone's ear off once your vocal cords fully come out." The professor said as he quickly stopped the Murakumo unit from writing any further.

"I understand that your vocal chords are still growing and we won't know how you will be when you can speak. What I meant was more of a figure of speech." The professor explained as I couldn't help but feel a sense of warmness coming from the scene. I placed a hand on my chest, the cold feeling I had from the seeing Relius Clover was slowly disappearing and now that was being replaced with a warmness that I had not felt for a long time. I decided to keep watching the sight a bit longer before figuring out how I am going to get out of here.

Before I could think any further, I felt an aching headache strike the back of my head as my vision began to blur once again. "But still… you do need a name at least… until we can confirm you are fit for the designation of Epsilon." The professor said as the unit tilted her head a bit. "Hmmm… a name for you… Ah." The professor said as he looked at her with a smile on his face as I tried to focus on this conversation, hoping to learn this unit's name.

But… That's proving to be much harder for me to actually stay awake at this point. Maybe this is me about to reawaken back in reality… from whatever I am experiencing is. I should just let the need for sleep hit me and let me return but for some reason, I felt this insatiable need to learn the truth, an irrational part of my brain telling me to listen to the truth about this simple inconsequential name. Just...a bit longer…

"… How about the name…."

The first thing Sora felt when his consciousness returned to him was the sweat that was forming on his back. Whatever that dream was, it was enough to make him work up a sweat. It was the same the first time he had such a dream like the one he had. He decided to slowly open his eyes, figuring that he needed to sleep back soon but there was nothing wrong with exercising the eyes for a bit as he did just that, opening his eyes and staring at what he had expected to be a dark room but in fact, the person he was staying with had the room light open.

"Unable to sleep properly Sora Minakaze?" The person awake asked as Sora turned his head towards the direction of the person sitting on the dresser, staring at herself in the mirror as Sora decided to take a bit of a seat on his bed. "I can say the same to you as well… Amy." Sora said as Amy turned around, keeping a rather serious expression on her face as Sora wondered what could be going through her mind at that moment.

"Did you have a bad dream of sorts? I saw you were sweating quite a bit." Amy said as Sora scratched the back of his head. "...Honestly, I cannot tell you if I had a dream or not. Only that it was strange and bizarre for me to experience." Sora said as he noted Amy nodding her head at that. "And what about you? Do people who serve under the Azure even need sleep? Every time I saw you even when you were being all spooky wookey you always looked awake." Sora said as Amy couldn't help but note his colorful choice of words.

"...We don't really need sleep per say. We can rest to recuperate but sleep is not a necessity. Also… are you calling the time I spent as a ghost in your mind just… Spooky Wookey?" Amy questioned as Sora scratched his head at that. "And what about you. Care to tell me more about this dream you had?" Amy questioned as Sora looked at her, wondering if he should tell her something this weird out of fear that she would not understand a single thing he would be saying at that moment.

"It's probably nothing you really need to hear. You know, dumb dream stuff where your mind wanders off and becomes imaginative of things." Sora said as Amy couldn't help but look down on the ground after hearing that as she closed her eyes briefly. As she did this, Sora realized he probably was not going to get sleep anytime soon and should thus be doing something productive with his time at the moment.

"Well I guess I will go and work on that contact plan a bit longer. Got to make sure things are ready and they will go our way." Sora explained as he stood up, ready to walk out of the room he and Amy were sharing to look at the plans he, Bullet and her had made. Before he could even do so, he felt a clearing of the throat to grab his attention as he looked Amy right at her eyes. "Why don't you tell me a bit of this dream. No harm in it you know." Amy said as Sora froze hearing that.

Sora wondered about what she had said before realizing, he was overthinking about telling someone a dream. There's absolutely nothing that was relevant he experienced in the dream that he would need to worry about telling her anything that would be too sensitive. "Are you sure you want to listen to me talk about a stuffy dream? Sure I am sweaty but it's not that really good." Sora said as Amy remained quiet, telling Sora all he needed to hear as he sighed and scratched his head, wondering how he was going to word this for her to understand.

Sora:… Well in my dream, I seemed to be dreaming about something that happened in the past.

Amy: Something that happened in the past? You mean like your mercenary past?

Sora: Well… not that exactly. It was something else entirely… like I was relieving another person's past.

Amy:...Go on

Sora: Well in my dream, I dreamed that I was in the middle of a laboratory and I saw a lot of things that were both weird and complicated for me to actually understand. All I can say is that what I say must be something out of an overly creative mind because I saw something about a 5th "Murakumo" unit and Nox nyctoreses.

As soon as Sora finished his summary of his dream, Amy couldn't help but feel a sweat come down at the back of her neck as she couldn't believe what she had just heard. Surely this was nothing but a jest from Sora isn't it? But the more she was met with silence from the man the more she knew it was the truth. "Look I understand that this is probably a lot for you to take in… oh who am I kidding you think that I look like a maniac from the outside looking in don't you." Sora said as he simply waited for Amy's reply at this point.

"Indeed...a maniac with an active imagination." Amy said as Sora sighed at that moment, figuring that was going to be the result at the end as he was about to head out at that moment. "And what else about this dream that stuck out to you if you are willing to oblige my curiosity. It's been a long time since I have heard about a dream this imaginative." Amy asked as Sora couldn't help but raise an eyebrow hearing that but decided to just tell her at that moment.

"Well… The laboratory that I was in was strange… it had a cauldron of it's own, a very tiny cauldron about the size of a small warehouse. As for how small the warehouse is… I cannot tell you I am sorry because I don't really know how small a warehouse can get. But the strangest part of that dream was how the professor in charge of that Murakumo unit tried to give her a name." Sora explained as Amy couldn't help but stiffen her reaction to hearing that as she decided to go a bit further.

"Did...Did the man ever tell you the Murakumo's name?" Amy questioned as Sora noticed how Amy was being quite forthcoming with her questions. Maybe it's because he just woke up and was still feeling a bit of the leftover tiredness but he didn't really feel like connecting the dots together at that moment as the dream was just not that important to what he had to do to get back home. He should just give her his answer and leave the room before she continue to barrage him with questions about a dream that makes no sense to him.

"I woke up before I could hear the name. Sorry but that's the truth." Sora said plainly as Amy simply remained silent hearing that before nodding her head. "Sorry to be asking you all of these questions… Don't worry about me, I understand what we are going to do tomorrow. As much as I hate interfering with the flow of time here, if it will get you to the answers to the questions you wish to seek then I will not stop you." Amy said

Sora himself couldn't help but be taken by surprise by what he was hearing from Amy but he figured that this was truly his chance to get out of the room before the conversation got too awkward. "Thanks… Just try to relax...sleep...whatever you do when you are with your blond haired friend." Sora said, waving his hand in an exaggerated manner as he took that as his cue to leave the room before things got more awkward.

As Sora closed the door, Amy waited for a little bit before using some magic to cast a soundproof bubble in the room. At that moment, Es appeared in front of her and took a seat on the bed Amy was supposedly using to take her rest. "So… How is the Error? Has he been cooperative to our every question?" Es asked, Amy nodding her head as she understood that Es herself would not be aware due to Amy deciding to keep things between her and the Error a secret to prevent an information leak.

"So far, he has been talking… at least he is serious about returning home as he has been making plans. Unfortunately it will mean having to alter this timeline to a degree it will clash with the Master Unit's desires." Amy explained as Es placed a hand on her chin. "That is not a good thing to hear Amy… you are well aware of the meddling a certain group of people have been doing to force the Master Unit out into the open." Es said as Amy sighed.

"Believe me, I know as much as you do about maintaining the status quo of a timeline and letting it naturally pass so that the Master Unit herself can decide whether to move on or keep observing… it's just that Error somehow has this innate ability to interfere with the actual flow of time… as if he was gifted with it or something." Amy said, referencing the fact that Sora was able to stay in contact with Bullet and even got her to help him with his crazy plan. Even this was starting to get a bit ridiculous for her tastes.

"In any other case… Did you check on Makoto Nanaya and see if she has awaken?" Amy questioned as Es shook her head. "Unfortunately, Makoto Nanaya still slumbers in her world. Her timeline is progressing as normal but the damage is already done and the Master Unit is incapable of rewinding time there any further than when that woman fully fused with that weapon." Es said as Amy couldn't help but start to see a reoccurring pattern between the two.

"So we have an Error that was supposed to be erased that still lingers in this world… and his Beastkin lover that despite stabbing herself in a fatal area managed to not only stay alive but able to sever the Azure's ability to rewind time in her world past when she fused with her soul. And not to mention we also have that mystery weapon that Makoto's soul had fused itself with." Amy said as Es realized she had something important to say at that very moment.

"About the weapon in question, I have been trying to find out about it's origin so I searched through various timelines for any version of that weapon… In all timelines, that weapon did not exist." Es said as Amy couldn't help but be alarmed by that. "That is not all, not only did said weapon not exist, Makoto Nanaya… all versions of her in any timeline had also been erased." Es continued as what she said prompted an immediate response from Amy.

"But that's impossible! One cannot simply just cease existing by fusing their soul with a weapon!" Amy shouted, thankful for her soundproofing spell. "But this is the truth I have found, Every other timeline, including this timeline, every single Makoto Nanaya from those timelines except where that weapon and her are currently have ceased to exist." Es said as Amy was able to figure something out from that.

"Then I understand now why the master unit isn't able to reset the timeline in any of the worlds now." Amy said as Es raised her eyebrow at that. "Before I explain further, it's better to have a quick refresher on Phenomenon Intervention just in case. The way Phenomenon intervention is supposed to work is by replacing Scenario A with Scenario B. This we are clear on right?" Amy said as Es nodded her head, making it easier for Amy explain her supposed theory.

"Every time the Master unit wants to undo something, it takes away something or moves certain people around to act in a different manner than before. But if there is a fatal error, let's say something that you cannot replace at all what happens then." Amy said as Es thought about it for a bit. "You ignore the event as if it never happened...ah." Es soon pieced together what Amy was saying. "It's not that the Master Unit cannot change the timeline past Makoto Nanaya's deed… It's already done all the changes it needed to do in every other timeline and is treating her as if she never existed… Like a Continuum Error." Amy said as she was beginning to understand what was truly going on to an extent.

"… As much as that is truly something to behold, we must not linger too much with said thoughts. We are still the Master Unit's gatekeepers and we must do our duty to the end." Es said, brushing off the shocking revelation with a face only she could as Amy nodded at that. "In any case… I will continue to observe the Error on my part and report if I find anything. Keep looking into the thing with Makoto Nanaya and see what you can do there." Amy said as Es simply nodded her head before vanishing without a trace.

At that point, Amy could have stopped the spell and brought noise back to the room but she kept it up for a bit longer. Now that she had her mind to wander off again, she couldn't help but go back to the dream that Sora had, the way he described everything and especially the image of the Murakumo Unit that was on his mind. She couldn't help but think about what he said at the end, a professor who watched over a Murakumo.

As she allowed that thought to linger in her head, she walked to the dresser mirror and looked at herself once again. She stared at the mirror for a bit before undoing her top a little to expose her chest. Staring at herself a bit longer. "That dream Sora had… That Murakumo… and that professor… could it be?.." Amy said without trying to think much as her eyes continued to stare at her chest, particularly at the mark on her chest.

Where a symbol of the number 5 was present…

Sora looked through the plans one more time, making sure things were alright as he took a deep breath. He then looked at his hand which soon drifted towards the magnum that was inside it's holster. Picking it up and looking at it, he couldn't help but begin to think about what he had just learned today. From learning about Bullet's past and Amy joining him as a reluctant ally and also being informed about the current situation with Makoto Nanaya.

All he could say at that moment was that he had a lot to process and too little time to actually handle everything. Anybody in his position would have been overwhelmed by now but Sora was not the type to let this kind of stuff get to his head. All the revelations in the world would not stop him from getting back to Makoto, even if he was told something like him returning back to his world would end the world in the process, Makoto was truly the only person in his mind at that very moment.

"Makoto…" he said as his hand placed the Magnum down on the table and allowed him to place it on his chest where his heart was. He closed his eyes for a bit and immediately couldn't help but feel a brief wind hit him, prompting him to open his eyes to see that the fan he had turned on had just blown his was, giving him fresh air as he thought about the voice once again. Why did the thing speaking to him at that moment had that voice.

In fact, why are people having express interest in a man who just survived being erased by the world. From the goddess of death to the god responsible for his erasure's own servants. He would like to think he was getting popular but it was all for the wrong reasons most likely. However the one that was the strongest in his mind was the thing that spoke with Makoto's voice. The words it chose and what it could mean.

"Form the contract...huh…" Sora said to himself as he couldn't help but wonder about that contract and what it actually meant. Other than beckoning him to form a contract, it also decided to call him Balmung for some reason. Not Sora, Balmung. Was this the case of what he had been dreaming lately or does that name actually have more meaning than it does. Whatever the case was, he was very certain about one thing.

If he had to make a deal with a devil to get his wish… he would take that deal without hesitation if it would let him be with the one he loves…

GREETINGS LOST SHEEP OF FANFICTION! HOW IS EVERYONE DOING ON THIS FINE DAY!? Well, we are almost past half of a year yet again. It did not help that a game like Fire Emblem Three Hopes had to come out so late at the end of the month that I had to focus my time to playing it completely. Overall, have been really enjoying my time with the game and I hope to have more opportunities to keep playing it. Even if the switch lite can feel like holding a thin brick at times.

SO WHAT WILL HAPPEN NEXT FOR SORA MINAKAZE!? WHAT KIND OF PLAN DOES HE HAVE IN STORE FOR SECTOR SEVEN!? WILL THEY HELP BOTH HIM AND BULLET FULFILL THEIR GOALS!? AND WHAT ABOUT AMY AND HER ROLE IN ALL OF THIS!? WILL SHE BE CONTENT BEING JUST A BYSTANDER FOR WHAT IS TO COME OR WILL SHE ACT!? Well, the next distortion shall answer all of this and more so keep on waiting indeed.
