Notes: Hey guys, gals and nonbinary pals! I know its been a while, life's been kinda crazy. Been looking for a new job as well as a new apartment, I'm aware chapter 4 of accidentally in love is late. Honestly I haven't written as much as I'd have liked, but hopefully this little story should tide y'all over for a little. The second chapter to this one is about halfway done and should be posted by Christmas at the latest. I hope you enjoy.

The sun was rising, streaks of pastel pinks and oranges streaking across the sky. Down below in the sleepy little town of Brightmoon North Dakota, children were waking up to the discovery of frost on their windows. Calls were being made to let parents know that school had been canceled, it was officially a snow day!

Kids of all shapes and sizes put on their warmest clothes, ready to make the most of the several inches of snow before the sun melted it away. Snowmen and snow angels were made, snowball fights were had. But high above all this levity and merriment, sat on top of the church's bell tower was a lone figure.

She was rather skinny, although she had curves where they counted. Wearing trashy clothes that looked like they had been left out all winter, covered in frost from head to toe. Her large mane of hair was stark white, completely contrasting her dark skin. She had a caramel mocha complexion with freckles dusting her sharp nose, her eyes glowing a periwinkle blue and a sharp golden yellow.

This being was known by many as Jack Frost, but her preferred name was Catra. She watched the kids down below play with her snow and smiled, stuffing her hands into the pocket of the large black hoodie she wore. Nothing made her happier than watching her snow make people happy, but as she watched what could only be described as a complete snow war, she noticed something.

Looking out the window of the orphanage was a young Asian girl, no older than 12 or so, looking sad. Catra's eyebrows furrowed and she leapt off the tower, flying over towards the window, leaving a chilly wind in her wake.

The girl in question was named Frosta, a girl after her own heart, and she sat there resting her chin on her hands. She stared at the people down below, longing in her eyes.

Catra honestly had no clue as to what was wrong, but whatever it was she couldn't help. Ever since she could remember Catra had been invisible, unable to be seen, touched or heard by anyone. So without any way of helping she began to float away, her mood kind of soured.

Then she saw two women walking down the street also looking sad, a heavyset pale woman with long pink hair was comforting a shorter woman with obsidian skin. Her hair was silvery blue with shaved sides, long in the front as it draped in front of her tearstained face. "Tossa, I know it's hard, but these things happen sometimes…"

The shorter woman shook with silent sobs, and muttered. "What are the odds both of us would be infertile Spinny? Maybe it's a sign, maybe we just aren't made for kids…"

Catra now felt even worse, and felt like causing some serious property damage with her ice. But then something clicked, and she glanced back up at the short haired girl in the window, then back to the couple.

She grinned mischievously, the flew very fast right in between the two women, causing them to shriek and shiver. She then shot right back between them, this time grabbing the pink haired woman's large floppy hat. "Hey! My hat!" She shouted as she chased after it, Catra leading her down the street keeping it just out of reach.

She then brought the hat up, right in front of the little girl, who blinked in surprise but grabbed the hat anyway. She stared at it, until a soft voice caught her attention. "Excuse me! I'm so sorry to bother you, but that's my hat sweetie, could you toss it back down please?" Frosta timidly nodded and threw the hat back down to the woman, who jumped and caught it before smiling up at her. "Thank you!"

Frosta merely went back to staring at the park, not saying anything. Spinnerella frowned in concern, just as Netossa caught up to her and looked where she was looking. The sign on the building read Brightmoon orphanage, and both of their eyes widened. The wind had brought Spinny's hat to this sad looking girl, and they had been told that both of them were unable to have kids not an hour prior…

"Do you think it's a sign, Tossa?" Spinny asked as her smile spread, and her wife grabbed her hand and all but bolted into the building. Sitting on a telephone pole above Catra was smiling, she had done good today. She floated down to the sidewalk, walking alongside the humans she treasured so much.

She did her best to avoid their path though, she always hated it when they passed through her. It made her feel hollow, like a ghost, seen, heard or felt by no one. Then she felt a hard thud against her right shoulder and she stumbled for a second, and a tall blonde woman wearing a red jacket looked directly at her and said. "Oh I'm so sorry, I wasn't watching where I was going! Are you okay?"

Catra's breath caught in her throat, she could see her? The blonde looked around then placed a finger on the side of her nose, and suddenly the people around her were passing through her instead of walking around her. "Y-you're like me." Catra whispered as if she was about to cry, and the blonde grabbed her hand and pulled her to a secluded place.

"Hey, my name is Adora, I can tell you're a bit overwhelmed. Can you tell me your name?" Catra stood there staring at this beautiful woman before her, her blond hair hung loose around her shoulders underneath her large fluffy red stocking cap with white trimming. Her eyes were grayish blue, and she had a smile that could melt even her icy heart.

But then catra remembered, when she touched her nose she turned invisible. "How did you do that!?" She shouted, startling Adora a little. "How do you turn the invisible off!?" She pleaded, eyes tearing up a little.

Adora's heart broke and she laid her hand on Catra's cheek, it was so warm against her icy skin and she leaned into it. "Have you been alone? For how long?"

Catra sniffled and turned away, ashamed as her tears turned into snowflakes as they fell. "I… I don't know…" Adora stared at her for a bit before bringing the girl in for a hug, her warmth was something catra had never experienced before. And she buried her face in the crook of Adora's neck, taking shaky breaths as she tried to process all the feelings she was having.

Eventually Adora pulled away, taking Catra's cheeks in her hands and looking her in the eye. "Hey, listen to me, I know it's been hard but I'm gonna take care of you now. You'll never be alone again."

Catra sniffled. "You promise?"

Adora smiled and wiped away a tear with her thumb. "I promise!"

Catra took a breath and said. "I'm Catra, but I'm also known as Jack Frost."

Notes: So what do you all think? I've had this first chapter done for a while, and was waiting for the holiday season to post it. If you couldn't tell, it's loosely based on the 'Rise of the guardians' film but won't follow the same plot. Also if it wasn't obvious, Adora is Santa Claus. Let me know if y'all have any predictions on what holiday characters everyone else will be. Happy Holidays, and Merry Christmas!
