Chapter 3: Back to the Autobots

The humming sound of the lights above him was the only thing that seemed to actually have his attention. Walking down the hall, everything else was like in a haze. Sure, he said hello here and there. But something more important was on this mind. Something in a battle months of ago, something that should have never happen. Why didn't he see that was going to happen? Why didn't he react fast enough? Why didn't he-

"Hey, Optimus!"

The Autobot leader turned to see Bumblebee and Spike walking to him. They both had smiles on their faces as they came up to him. Everyone knew that Optimus was still stressing over the missing human from the oilrig attack by the Stunticons. It was bugging everyone that Megatron hadn't even made any demands for his return for anything. That could only mean that maybe he was dead. But if he was, why didn't the Decepticon tell them that the human was dead. Megatron would have just love to rub it the Autobots' faces.

"Hello Bumblebee, Spike," answer Optimus as he acknowledge the duo, "Where are you two going?"

"Jazz had rent all the Star Wars movies, all nine of them and is having a movie party in his room," answer Spike.

"Didn't I ban those movies after Wheeljack tried to build his own lightsaber and it took out half the medical wing?" asked Optimus with a little humor in his voice.

"Huh…."

"Ah! He's gaining on us!"

The three of them turned around to see Sideswipe and Sunstreaker running down the hallway. Right behind them was coming Prowl, or what seemed to be Prowl. The only difference between the Prowl that they knew and the Prowl that was chasing the twins was the fact that his was pink. It seem that the twins had pulled another one of their pranks onto the strategist.

Stepping into their escape path, Optimus just folded his arms over his chest and gave the two young Autobots a stern look. Seeing the Commander, the two of them skidded to a spot in front of him, Bumblebee and Spike. Sideswipe just let out a chuckle as he rubbed the back of his head. As well, for the first time, Optimus noticed that Sunstreaker seem to be holding something in his hand. What could that be?

"Hey, Op," respond Sideswipe.

"What's up?" asked Sunstreaker.

"What did you two do this time?" asked Optimus.

"What do you mean? We didn't do anything!" shouted Sunstreaker.

"I beg to differ," said Prowl as he came behind them, with this stern look on his face.

The twins just stood there, not knowing what to do. They were really in trouble this time. Just then, a small head of black hair pop out of Sunstreaker's head. A small human child was there and was looking around to see that they had stop moving. His large brown eyes scan both Optimus and Prowl's faces. They really didn't seem please.

"Oh no," he mumbled sinking back into Sunstreaker's hand only to have Optimus spot him.

"Ah, it seems you two also had a little help in this matter,"

The twin's faces dropped into a bit as Sunstreaker open his hand to show a young boy, about six years old in a blue t-shirt and jeans. His black hair was all messy and covering his large chocolate brown eyes. Chuckle a little bit, the young boy just had a nervous smile on his face.

"Hi, Optimus," he said with a small wave.

"I can't believe it you two! Bringing Josh into this whole thing! You twoare just bad influents on him!" lectured Prowl, wagging his finger at them.

"We/They aren't!" shouted the twins and Josh at the same time.

"Prowl, why don't you let me handle them and you go get clean up," said Optimus.

"But-"

"Prowl…"

"Yes, sir," respond Prowl as he sent a clear 'I'll talk to you two later' at the twins, who just chuckle.

Now, came the bad part. Spike and Bumblebee just looked at each. They really didn't know how he was going to deal with the twins this time, and Josh too. Him and his mom, Diana were staying at the base, like Spike and Sparkplug. Ever since his dad got kidnapped by the Decepticons three months ago. The media wouldn't leave them alone, so Optimus agree to let them stay with them. Come on, who in their right mind would spy on them inside the Autobots' base.

Since then, Josh have been having a blast. Of course, any boy his age hanging out with giant robots from outer space would be having a blast. Even Spike was enjoying his company. It was like having the little brother that he never had.

"Sunstreaker, could you put Josh down," said Optimus.

The golden warrior slowly placed the six year old on the ground. Josh crawl out of Suntreaker's hand and ran right over to Spike, who was behind Optimus. He had this look of ashamed on his face, like he had his hand caught inside the cookie jar.

"Bumblebee, why don't you take the boys to Jazz's quarters," said Optimus, not taking his optics off the twins.

"Yeah, sure," replied Bee as he grabbed a hold of Spike and Josh into his arms and started to walked down the hallway.

"Do you think they will get into much trouble?" asked Josh after awhile and see the sight of Optimus talking to Sideswipe and Sunstreaker

"Just the usual, how they should smarten up and that they are clean up doing," said Bumblebee.

"Oh…," said Josh as he sounded a little sad at that.

Spike seem to notice that and wonder what with his little 'brother' at that. He wonder what was up with him. The young human was full of life and always had a smile one. Even with his own father missing and might not ever come back, Josh just continue to laugh.

"Hey, what is wrong?" asked Spike as he gave Josh a little nudge.

"Well…" said Josh as he looked down at the ground.

"Come on, you can tell us," said Bumblebee.

Just then, the alarm started to go off. The three of them looked at each other then, Bumblebee with the two humans in his arms ran straight towards the Command Center.
