Harper's Holiday
Harper swung his feet impatiently of the end of his bunk, the Maru was a lot different from earth. He was more then glad to have gotten away from that hell but a year in space had given him a lot of time to think about all the good times. He leapt off the bunk and over to a small crude looking stack of paper that resembled a calendar from ancient earth. He looked down at the page and his eyes stopped on the present day, the little rectangle had been circled with a green marker.
"Happy St. Patrick's day Seamus," Harper mumbled to himself through a sad smile. Slowly as if by there own will his thoughts drifted back to what St. Patrick's day was like back home in Boston. There was always a party with music, dancing, drinking but best of all it was one of the rare times he could forget about the Ubers. Briefly Harper wondered if Beka celebrated it to but stopped himself, of cores she didn't she had much more important thing to do. He was so deep in thought that he did not notice standing in the doorway of the Maru's crew quarters.
"Hey shorty what's wrong?" Her voice shocked him out of his little daydream.
"Nothing, I was just thinking that's all," Replied Harper his voice lacking it's usual charisma. Beka was now standing beside him looking at the papers he had in his hands.
"It was my favorite holiday," Spoke Harper his eyes still focusing on the calendar.
"Where did you find one of those?" asked Beka staring in disbelief at the object in his hand. "they stopped making those thousands of years ago."
"I made it," he looked up at her for the first time since she had entered.
"March 17?" asked Beka with genuine curiosity.
"Yah it's uh St. Patrick's day" he said simply and continued on seeing her confusion. "It's just the best freaking holiday ever!"
"That's today Seamus, why didn't you say anything?"
"Well I just thought you had better things to do then-" Beka cut him off before he could finish.
"Meet me in the serving area in one hour." Ordered Beka as she disappeared from the room.

Beka had a devilish smile plastered across her face as she pulled herself up the latter leading to one of the many storage areas. She squeezed her way to the back of the tiny room and pulled a white sheet of a small stack of creates.
"This is as good an excuse as any," she said as she picked the first create and began her lugging it to the Maru's serving area.

Slowly Harper made his way down to meet Beka dragging his feet as he went.
"Okay, Beka I-"
"SUPRIZE!" shouted Beka who had just leapt out from behind a counter near the center of the room. Harper was speechless, he glanced all around the room taking it in.
Beka smiled as she watched her new friends eyes dance across the room pausing on all the different decorations and laughed as they came to rest on the creates containing sparky cola and various types alcohol.
"Happy St. Patrick's day Harper." she said throwing him a bottle of Smirnoff ice.
"But how did you?" he asked still surprised.
"I read about it once and I hade a few cases of left over drinks so…"
"Thank you, so much Beka." Harper smiled, cracked open the bottle and shouted,
"Happy St. Patrick's day! Now let's get this party started!"
