Chapter 5
The next morning, Dean was fixing breakfast and Storm was setting the table when Sam and Breeze wandered into the kitchen, both still in sleep clothes, yawning and rubbing their eyes. Their hair was sticking out like rats played in it last night, their faces were still heavy with sleep, and neither could not stop yawning making them look like kids.
"Damn, what did you two do last night? Did you get any sleep? What did I tell you Sammy, you have to pace yourself," Dean asked looking over their disheveled appearances. "My Baby came back in one piece, didn't she? Tell me the truth."
"Yes, Dean; the Impala is fine," Sam grunted, accepting a cup of coffee from Storm. "And, yes, we slept together in the same bed last night, but nothing else happened."
"You still drink it the same way Bree?" Storm asked as she poured another cup of coffee.
"You got it Sis," Breeze told her holding out her hand for the cup after Storm added creamer to it. "Come to mama," she cooed blowing across the top before taking a sip.
"Go on, sit down, I'll have breakfast ready in a few minutes," Dean ordered waving a spatula around as he cooked.
"You guys up to going to the flea market today?" Storm questioned.
"Sounds like fun to me," Breeze commented looking to Sam. "You game Sammy?"
"Yeah, why not," Sam shrugged sipping his coffee to wake up. He saw Dean looking at him with arched eyebrows and mouthed 'Sammy'. He gave him a bitch face and silently communicated to not say anything. He honestly didn't mind Breeze calling him that and hoped Dean was okay with it too.
"Okay, kiddies, breakfast is served," Dean announced sitting a platter with scrambled eggs and bacon, one with toast, and a bowl of fruit on the table. He took a seat by Storm and kissed her cheek.
"Bacon, my favorite, right up there with pies," Breeze exclaimed grabbing a couple of strips.
"I think she's a keeper Sammy," Dean noted serving Storm and himself before passing the platter to Sam.
"We're still getting to know each other," Sam replied giving Breeze a shy glance before dropping his eyes.
"Tell me, Sis, how did you meet lover boy over there?" Breeze asked between bites ignoring Dean for the moment.
"Well," Storm started looking over at Dean. "There was a bad storm raging outside and Dean was the last one left in the bar. When I saw how bad it was, I offered to let him stay the night. We talked and got to know each other. Dean was hurting and I was there for him. One thing led to another, and well, we got together. We've been there for each other and Dean visits when he can. He was there for me after I was attacked…"
"Wait? What?" Breeze asked looking at Storm to be sure she heard right. "You need to give me some more details here Sis, who attacked you?"
"He was a monster," Dean growled out as his expression darkened for a moment.
"The bar was robbed and the bastard…" Storm started but couldn't finish as tears sprang to her eyes and she wiped them away.
"Oh, damn Sis," Breeze hissed getting up to hug her. "You don't need to say anymore. Have the cops found him? Has he paid for what he did?"
"No, the cops didn't find him, and they won't," Dean assured her giving her a firm look to not ask any more questions.
"That's all I need to know." Breeze went back to her seat and started eating again. She stole a glance at Dean and Sam who were stoic and reserved. She watched Storm wipe her face and pull herself together before finishing her breakfast.
"Why don't you go get ready Babe?" Dean told her. "I'll clean up here."
"Okay," Storm mumbled before getting up and heading down the hall to her bedroom.
"Thank you for being there for her," Breeze whispered to Dean and Sam. "I wish I could have been here for her too."
"I did what I could to help her through it. I gave her space and let her move at her own speed. I'd do anything for her; I love her." Dean got up and started clearing the table.
"It was a tough time," Sam added. "Guess we should go get dressed so we can leave."
"Okay, You want the bedroom first?" Breeze asked.
"No, go ahead, I'll help Dean in here," Sam responded.
Breeze stacked her plate on his and then went to the bedroom to dress and get her wallet. She would get Storm alone and talk to her later to be sure she was okay. Breeze headed into the living room to wait on the others.

When everyone was ready, they trooped down the stairs and to the Impala. Dean slowly walked around the car checking it out for any damage before unlocking the driver's door. He checked the inside out and stuck his head in the back to sniff the air and be sure it looked okay.
"Are you going to let us in Babe?" Storm asked looking impatiently at him.
"Just checking," Dean insisted looking to Sam and Breeze as Sam fidgeted where he stood. He got in and unlocked the doors for the others. Once Storm was settled in the passenger seat and Sam and Breeze were in back, Dean cranked his Baby and backed out and headed around the bar to go into town to the fairgrounds where the flea market was be held.
Dean drove around the gravel parking lot and found a good place to park the Impala. They got out and headed for an entrance to the flea market. Dean walked hand in hand with Storm and Sam cautiously laced his fingers in Breeze's fingers and shyly smiled down at her as she grinned up at him with a mischief sparkle in her eyes.
They walked down the rows, checking out what was for sale. Storm found matching braided leather brackets and bought them for her and Dean. Breeze squealed in delight when she found a funnel cake stand and got one to share with Sam. Dean sampled homemade beef jerky and bought a several packs when he decided it was as good as what he bought in the grocery store. Sam lost himself in a large selection of used books, finding several that he bought.
They bought lunch at a food truck and found a table to sit out and enjoy the meal. Breeze and Storm got caught up on what had been happening in each other's lives, the brothers were happy to just listen. Dean and Sam both choked when Storm accidently mentioned something about spirits and hunting, making Breeze suspicious by their reaction, but she didn't pursue it, for now. She saw an unspoken communication pass between the brothers and Storm looked guilty, like she was hiding something.
It was midafternoon when they made their way back to the Impala to head back to the bar. All were tired but pleased with their finds. When they got back to the bar, Dean and Storm went to their bedroom to take a nap and Sam and Breeze settled on the couch to relax. Storm had turned on the radio for them and soft rock music filled the room.
Breeze tucked one leg under her so she could face Sam and took his hand laying it on her knee. She studied it as she ran a finger lightly over the lines and saw a couple of small scars. Her fingers traced the outline of his hand, running up and down each finger. Breeze could feel his pulse quicken under her fingers and could feel a slight tremble in his arm and cocked her head sideways and looked into his eyes. At first, she didn't say anything as she just studied him, thinking he should have a girlfriend too and wondered about that.
"You guys aren't telling me something," she stated catching a shocked look that quickly went back to neutral before he spoke.
"What makes you say that?" Sam asked trying to take his hand back but couldn't since Breeze had a tight hold on his wrist.
"I saw something pass between you and your brother when Sis and I were talking. It was like she said something she shouldn't have. I'm not a child, I've seen war, and I think I can handle about anything."
"I…I don't think...Storm might not…." Sam stumbled over his words. He was panicking and wasn't sure what he should do. What if Storm didn't want her told about what they did and what was out there in the dark? He gave her a pained expression since he was not sure what to do.
"I'll settle this and then you can tell me," Breeze insisted getting up and walking down the hall to Storm's bedroom. She knocked before opening it and covered her eyes not sure what to expect.
"No! Wait!" Sam called after her. "They're probably…Awe hell…" he whined. He was sure Dean wasn't going to be happy about being disturbed when he was probably making out with Storm.
"Breeze?" Storm panted when she looked to the door and saw her standing there with her eyes covered. "Is everything…Okay? Mmmmm…"
"Is Sammy okay?" Dean asked as he raised his head from his pillow to look at her too.
"It seems I need your permission so Sammy will tell me what you guys are hiding," Breeze told them, peeking between her fingers to find Storm straddling Dean in the mist of having sex.
"Damn," Storm grunted as she breathed hard. "Guess I couldn't keep it from you, you're too observant. Babe, is it okay to tell her?"
"It's your decision, but know this, once you know, your life will be changed forever. It's not something that you easily forget…. Oh, yeah Babe, that's it…"
"I'll take that chance. Sorry about disturbing your 'nap'," she smirked throwing them a kiss.
"Go jump my brother's bones, he needs to loosen up," Dean told her. "I know it sure is helping me. Now where were we?" he purred to Storm as he rocked her hips faster.
Breeze closed the door to the bedroom laughing softly. She strolled back into the living room and to the couch to sit back down by a fidgeting Sam. He looked uncomfortable and uneasy as he looked back toward the bedrooms praying Dean didn't come out naked to harass him.
"Alright," she huffed turning to face Sam again. "Storm says it okay, and your brother cautioned me about it, so is that good enough? You want to tell me the secret you guys have? I mean, it could give a girl a complex to be left out of the loop. I know I'm new to the club, but I plan on being around more. I want to know about you, Sam…Never did get your last name…"
"Winchester, it's Sam Winchester," Sam squeaked out.
"Well, Sam Winchester, I like you. You're not like most men I've met, and you intrigue me. You're a riddle wrapped in an enigma with many layers to peel back. Do you want to get to know me too? I'm not pressuring you or anything and if you don't have feelings for me, that's fine too. But we could still be friends since I'll be visiting with Storm and you guys might be here."
"I think I'd like that. Yes, I'd like to get to know you better," Sam nodded taking her hand in his and rubbing his thumb across her palm. He leaned closer as she did the same and they kissed before letting their foreheads butt against each other.
"Okay, then, might as well tell me," Breeze said.
"You might not like what you are going to hear and may change your mind about me," said Sam looking down at their clasped hands.
"Please tell me you're not bank robbers or assassins!" Breeze whined. "I'd hate to hurt you guys if you got Storm in trouble or hurt her."
"What? No," Sam insisted. "We would never harm Storm. We love her."
"This isn't a threesome that I interrupted, is it?"
Sam looked perplexed for a moment and laughed for a few moments.
"God no," he sighed. "Nothing like that. Dean's not the sharing type and I would never do that, especially with my brother."
"Are you wanted by the cops?"
"Well," Sam shrugged trying not to make them sound like criminals.
"I knew it! Are you con men? Do you scam old women for their money or hustle people or…?"
"Wait, stop," Sam butted in holding up his hands. "It's none of that. All I ask is that you keep an open mind and hear me out."
"Okay, you have my undivided attention," said Breeze as she leaned back against the couch and waited for Sam to continue.
"Dean and I, we are hunters," Sam started trying to choose his words carefully. He liked this woman and hoped maybe to get to know her better, that is, if she wasn't scared off by what he was going to tell her.
"Hunters? What's so bad about that? I've hunted before with my Dad and brother."
"There's more. It's what we hunt. There are supernatural creatures in this world that are real, not make believe like most people think. We track them down and kill them if they are killing innocent people. We protect those who can't protect themselves."
"When you say supernatural creatures, you mean ghosts and what else?"
"Yeah, ghosts, vampires, werewolves, witches, ghouls, all of them are real and most are a danger to humans."
"This isn't some kind of a joke you're pulling on me, is it? Did Storm put you up to this?"
"No joke. I'm telling you the truth. Dean had just finished a hunt when he stopped here for a beer and met Storm."
"Damn! I did not see that coming," Breeze huffed as she mulled over what Sam had told her. "How do you know all this stuff?"
"I was raised in it. My mom was killed by a demon when I was six months old. Our Dad is trying to hunt the demon down and take his revenge. He raised us to be warriors and follow in his footsteps." Sam paused and looked away as memories of Jessica flooded his mind.
"Something happened to you, didn't it? I can tell you're different than your brother. I can see it. Tell me," she encouraged.
"I got out of the family business. I even went to college at Stanford for nearly four years."
"Wow, you must be really smart. So, what happened? What took you away from that?"
"My senior year, my girlfriend was killed the same way as my Mom. I would have died too if Dean hadn't pulled me from the burning apartment." Sam's voice was dull and without emotions as he told her. He kept his eyes downcast as he talked so she wouldn't see how haunted they were.
"I'm so sorry Sammy. That must have been really hard on you," Breeze offered laying a hand on his fisted hands.
"I left college knowing that would never be my life, no matter how hard I tried to make it that. I started back hunting with Dean and have been ever since."
"And Sis is okay with this? With what you guys do?"
"I guess, she's even helped out on a couple of hunts."
"That I believe. She was always one for adventure and new experiences."
"Yeah, she saved us not too long ago and it wasn't even from monsters, they were human, but crazy ones. They hunted people for sport and ate them."
"You're joking, right? You mean like Hannibal Lecter?"
"Yep, and we were going to be the main course until Storm showed up and helped us get free."
"That's my sister for you. Will you tell me some more?" she asked leaning toward Sam with anxious eyes.
"So, you're not ready to run away in fear, thinking we're nuts?"
"Nope, Sis is a good judge of character and from what I've seen so far, you and your brother are decent guys. You're not pressuring me to have sex like most guys would and I think you're a gentleman. You're just lucky I haven't taken advantage of you."
"Okay…Right…" Sam replied as he reddened slightly.
"Do vampires really drink human blood? Like suck it out of you?"
"Yes, afraid so. But they can be in sunlight and garlic does not affect them. They usually have a nest with anywhere from four to ten in it. The leader turns those he or she wants to keep and drains the ones they don't want."
"Turns, don't you turn when you get bitten?"
"No, you have to drink a vampire's blood and then drink human blood to be turned."
"How do you kill them?"
"You sure you want to know this stuff?" Sam quizzed.
"I do. This is something I never thought could be true and I'm curious. Besides, if Sis is involved, so am I."
"You cut their heads off is the best way or burn their bodies. They're already dead so bullets and knifes won't do it."
"Have you killed vampires?"
"No, but our Dad has. We've gotten rid of vengeful spirits, werewolves, pagan gods, wendigo. We just finished a case that was a tulpas."
"Whoa, above my pay grade, what's a tulpas?"
"It's a supernatural being created by the act of a bunch of people imagining it. They bring it to life."
"Did you kill it?"
"I honestly don't know. Dean burned the cabin down it was in."
"All this sounds dangerous. Have you been hurt while hunting?"
"I'd be lying if I said no. Yeah, it is dangerous, some hunts a lot more than others. They don't go the way we would like sometimes." Sam looked away for a moment as he thought of a couple of hunts that really went bad.
"What are you thinking about?" Breeze asked Sam when she saw the look on his face. "Did something go really wrong during a hunt?"
"You could say that," Sam huffed not sure he wanted to bare his soul to her since he didn't know her that well. "I don't really feel like talking about it. Maybe after we get better acquainted."
"Okay, that's fair, then answer some questions for me; what about vengeful spirits? They aren't alive; how do you do whatever it is to get rid of them?"
"You sure you want to know?"
"Yes already. I want to know all I can."
"You usually can salt and burn their bones and it removes them from this plane of existence. But sometimes you have to destroy an object that they are attached to to get rid of them."
"You dig up graves?"
"Well, yeah, can't get to the bones any other way," Sam shrugged. He watched Breeze as she processed what he had told her and couldn't believe she wasn't freaking out. He had to admit it, he liked her.
"Come on, I want you to tell me more, but I think we can do something a little more entertaining," Breeze cooed to him, pulling Sam to his feet and leading him to the bedroom.
Sam didn't resist as he let himself be led to the bedroom and tingled with anticipation when she closed the door behind them. She kissed him and moved them toward the bed making Sam sit on the side as she ran her fingers through his hair and claimed his lips for her own. They were cautious and slow, feeling each other out as clothes were shed and fireworks went off as they took each other to the moon and back. Afterwards, they lay entwined in each other's arm, content and happy.
