Chapter 14

Dean woke slowly the next morning and felt the warm body of the woman he loved snuggled down the length of his body as they spooned. He gazed lovingly at her profile and brushed a strand of hair from her cheek. He didn't know if he could love her any more than he already did and wondered how he could be so lucky. Her breathing was slow and even, but her brow twitched into a frown for a moment and a soft moan escaped from her lips as her body stiffened. He hummed to her for a moment before bringing his lips to her ear.

"It's okay Stormy, I'm here to keep the monsters away," Dean mumbled into Storm's ear as he pulled her tighter to him. "I'm here my love. You're safe in my arms." He kissed the side of her face. She seemed to catch his scent because he felt her relaxing into him and sighed softly. He knew she still had dreams of what had happened to her during the robbery even though she played it down when he asked her about it.

The light of the sun was just coming through the windows in the bedroom, so Dean knew it was still early but was awake now and needed to use the bathroom. He very carefully slipped his arm from under Storm's body and eased away from her so not to wake her. He went into the bathroom and used it before coming out and grabbing sleep pants to put on, deciding parading around naked wouldn't be a good thing since they weren't alone.

Sam moved cautiously testing his body to find it wasn't as stiff and his knee was moving better. Breeze had massaged tiger balm into his knee last night and gave him a rub down that left him feeling so relaxed he went to sleep before she was done. He smiled down at Breeze who was snuggled into his side and still sleeping. She looked so peaceful, and he couldn't believe how quickly he was falling for her. He knew they were still getting to know each other but this felt so right. And it helped that she knew about what they did and wasn't freaking out about it. She was like Storm and taking it all in stride and even wanted to learn more.

He slipped carefully from her embrace and froze when she moved and mumbled something under her breath that he couldn't make out. When she settled again, Sam headed for the bathroom, grabbing sweats along the way. When he was done, he headed for the kitchen but stopped long enough to look out the sliding glass doors at the ocean as the waves rolled in and out.

"Hey, coffee is made and there's hot water for tea," Dean offered. "Taking Stormy, a cup of tea and see what she has planned for today. Hopefully, nothing too out there," Dean continued rolling his eyes with thoughts of what she might have planned.

"Okay thanks," Sam nodded breaking from his trance and heading on to the kitchen. He fixed two cups of coffee to take back to the bedroom for them. He sat down on the side of the bed and put the coffees on the nightstand. "Hey there," Sam whispered to Breeze as he brushed a strand of hair from her cheek. "You ready to wake up?"

"Mmmm…" Breeze hummed as she stretched her arms above her head and looked lovingly at Sam.

"I brought you some coffee."

"Good, I need it." She sat up and adjusted the pillow to lean back before accepting the cup from Sam. After blowing across the top, she took a tentative sip and sighed softly. "Did you sleep well?"

"The best and what you did last night helped. My limp is almost gone, and my wrist is moving better today."

"I'm glad," she replied giving him a warm smile.

"I'm not sure what we're doing today. Dean is checking with Storm."

"I think she's got most of the week planned out from what she told me. I know she wants to do something called Dark of the Moon Pub Crawl and Ghost Tour and I think she wants to tour a couple of places that are supposed to be haunted."

Sam huffed and rolled his eyes, thinking Dean wasn't going to enjoy that too much.

"I saw that," Breeze scolded him. "I know, I know that might not be that interesting to you guys with what you do, but it is for us. We're still learning things which reminds me, you need to teach me things. I want to learn."

"Are you sure?" Sam asked, taking her hand and rubbing his thumb over her palm. "It will change your life."

"Yes, please. If I'm going to have a life with you, I need to know Sammy. I do want to know. I want what Dean and Storm have."

"Alright, I'll give you a crash course on the supernatural. We'll do it when we have free time this week."

"I'd like that. I'm anxious to learn."

"I'm going to see if Dean and Storm are up and see about some breakfast for us."

"I'll be out shortly then. And Sammy, I look forward to our talk and know this about me, I'm a fast learner."

Breeze strolled to the bathroom as Sam found a T-shirt to slip on before going to see if the others were up and to start some breakfast.

"Hey Sam," Storm greeted him. "How was your first night here?"

"Restful and magical," Sam answered. "What are we doing today?"

"I thought we'd have a light breakfast and spend some time at the beach this morning, have lunch and then go check out a few historical sites this afternoon. There's the Tremont House Hotel, Stewart's Mansion, Broadway Cemetery, and some other places. I've been reading about all the places that claim to be haunted."

"Sounds like fun," Dean grunted in an unhappy voice.

"Don't worry Babe, tomorrow night we've going on a Pub Crawl in the Red-Light district."

"Now that sounds like fun," Dean perked up. "Okay, I've got biscuits cooking and sausage on for breakfast. If you're not liking that, fix your own."

"I've got some fresh fruit," Breeze told Sam when he saw his grimace.

"Okay then! I guess we're spending a morning at the beach," Dean stated loudly.

"Come on Bree, let's go put on our suits," Storm told her. "There's beach chairs and an umbrella in the storage room outside that we can use. And there's beach towels in the laundry room to use."

"Okay Babe," Dean called to her as she disappeared. "You think she would be mad if I played sick so I wouldn't have to go this afternoon?" he asked his brother.

"Don't let Storm hear you say anything like that bro. She might cut you off."

"Yeah, you're probably right," Dean sighed before turning to check the biscuits in the oven.

"We'll just have to grin and bear it. Who knows, it might be fun."

"Maybe for you," Dean pouted. He took up the sausage patties and pulled the biscuits from the oven. He split the hot biscuits placed the sausage patties between them and stacked them on a plate. "Okay, where's the paper plates?"

"I think over there," Sam pointed as he cut a banana for the mixed fruit. "Wow!" Sam exclaimed when Storm and Breeze came back into the room in binkies with wraps tied around their hips.

"Man Stormy, talk about sexy," Dean told her as he took in her teal-colored binkie and multicolored sheer wrap tied low on her hips.

"Dean's right, you look great Bree," Sam added. "I like the color," he told Breeze looking over her peach-colored binkie and same colored sheer wrap as Storm. "You girls look like sisters."

"Thank you love. Let's eat so we can go set up on the beach."

They ate a quick breakfast, and the guys went to change into swim trunks. Storm insisted they lathered down with sunscreen so not to burn on their first day on the beach, and the guys did the same to the girls' bodies. The girls packed a cooler bag with drinks and snacks to take with them. Storm grabbed four beach towels to use, and the guys got out chairs and the umbrella. They walked down to the water's edge and chose a spot above the breaking of the waves.

Dean wiped a trickle of sweat from his face and looked at the others. They had been sitting on the beach for a couple of hours and he was hot.

"C'mon Sammy, let's take a dip and cool off," Dean told his brother, slapping at his leg to roust him.

"Okay," Sam grunted getting up and taking off his hat and sunglasses.

They walked toward the breaking waves and made their way out into the surf, jumping as the waves hit them. When they got past the crest of the waves, both dove under and swan around in the calmer water. They ducked each other and splashed around before catching a wave back to shore.

"Have mercy!" Storm gushed patting Breeze's arm and pointing toward the surf at the guys as they walked back toward them. "I don't know if I can control myself," she sighed.

"Be still my beating heart!" Breeze crowed in delight as she set up to watch the show. "Can they get any sexier?"

Dean and Sam emerged from the breaking wave like water gods with droplets of water glistening on their muscular bodies and running slowly down their chests. They walked slowly toward the shore like they owned the world. Their girls weren't the only ones who caught sight of them as two young girls in skimpy binkies stopped to enjoy the view. They made their way toward the guys not seeing Storm and Breeze glaring at them.

"C'mon girl, let's go stake our claims," Storm told Breeze as they got up and made their way toward Dean and Sam who had stopped at the water's edge where the young girls were flirting with them. "Honey," said Storm, her words dripping with sweetness. "I brought you your towel."

"Thanks Babe."

"And who is this?" she questioned as she hung onto Dean, claiming him as her own.

"A couple of girls visiting from South Carolina. I was telling them about the seafood restaurant we ate at," Dean told her acting innocent of any wrongdoing.

"Sammy, how's the water?" Breeze cooed to him, standing on her tiptoes to kiss his cheek.

"It's refreshing," Sam replied frowning slightly at Breeze as she rubbed against him.

"We better go," one of the girls quickly said as they hurried on down the beach.

"I think you scared them Stormy," Dean noted watching the girls walk away, glancing over their shoulders and whispering to each other.

"I'm protective of what's mine," Storm shrugged looping her arm through Dean's and walking back to their chairs.

"Me too," Breeze told Sam with a smirk. "I don't share."

"You're so cute when you're jealous," Dean purred kissing her lips before dropping into his chair. "Who wants a drink?"

"Me," they all said at the same time.

Dean handed out drinks and snacks and continued to tease Storm about her jealous streak until she questioned what he would do if a tall, dark, handsome, guy put the moves on her. He stated, he hoped the guy had medical insurance. They stayed on the beach another hour before packing up and moving to the pool side. They all got in the pool and swam around acting like kids again until it was time of lunch and to get ready for their afternoon adventure.

"Listen to this," Storm said as she walked down the driveway for the mansion. "There was a tribe of Karankawa Indians that lived here before the mansion was build. There were usually thirty to forty members in a tribe, and they practiced ritual cannibalism. A pirate named Jean Lafitte came to the island and kidnapped one of their women assaulting her. The tribe attacked killing five of his crew. Lafitte retaliated and brought in guns and two cannons and decimated the tribe killing all of them in the Battle of Three Trees. This Lafitte dude was into human trafficking too and it says he had a Voodoo Priestess and demanded a pack of canines from her, she cursed the dogs instead and they became 'Campecho Devil Dogs', but some called them hell hounds."

Dean and Sam looked at each other with that reference wondering how true that story was. They had read about hell hounds in some of Bobby's books and knew they took human souls to Hell.

"Caretakers and visitors have all heard cannons and musket fire and spectral screams in the night. They've seen apparitions of ghost roaming the grounds and the house."

"That sounds awful for the Indians," Breeze replied looking at the large structure they were about to enter. "So, tell me, how do you know if a place is haunted?" she asked Sam.

"Well, places where tragic deaths or murders take place are a start," Sam told her.

"I read online that it gets really cold if a spirit is nearby, is that true?"

"Yeah, it gets so cold you can see your breath, and I guess because I've done this for so long, I can sense them near me."

"But why don't they go right to Heaven or Hell or wherever they go?"

"Most do, but there are those who have unfinished business or are held here by loved ones or personal objects. And we have run across some that are trapped here by more powerful spirits that feed off the weaker ones."

"That's just…Disgusting," Breeze spoke vehemently. "I guess even in death, evil still exist."

"Come on, the next tour is about to begin," Storm called to them as they headed inside to get tickets.

The tour lasted for a couple of hours since it included the grounds too. They were shown a family cemetery in back and was told ghosts wandered the grounds like they were lost spirits unable to cross over.

"I don't know about you guys, but I felt like something was watching us," Storm said as she rubbed her arms.

"Yeah, I felt it too," Breeze agreed leaning closer to Sam. "You could almost feel the weight of the tragedy that happened there bearing down on you."

"It was a little creepy," Dean offered but he didn't think there was anything there. He looked to Sam as he spoke. "I'm sure having the place cooler than needed and it being so old, even though it was restored, helps paint a picture to let your imagination get the best of you."

"Dean's right. They want you to be scared, it adds to the realism of it all."

"Where to next?"

"Well, we could check another haunted place or just walk through the historical district and if we see something of interest, we can check it out," Storm offered consulting the tour book she had bought before they started their adventure. "I want to check out the Broadway Cemetery closer to dusk since that's when it says spirits are more active."

"We're going to tour a cemetery to look for ghost?" Dean questioned in a whiny voice.

"Hey, you guys may be old hats at this, but Bree and I are still learning," Storm shot back. "I want to see a real ghost and not some pretend one."

"No, really you don't," Dean told her. "Most spirits are dangerous and it's not a good idea to rile them."

"But not all ghosts are bad, right? I mean some are confused and don't realize what's happened to them and can't move on. I read that somewhere."

"That's probably true, but you never underestimate anything when you're dealing with the supernatural. So, where is this mansion you want to go to?"

"Head left out of the parking lot and it's about ten miles away. You'll turn onto West 4th Street, and you can't miss it."

"Got it. Since we are out and about, why don't we eat out again tonight and cook in the rest of the week?" Dean suggested as he followed Storm's directions.

"Sounds good. One night we'll eat early and go do the Pub Crawl. It says they go to the best pubs in the town and the first drink is free."

"Now you're talking, I can handle that."

"I thought you could," Storm giggled. "Guys, anything in particular you want to check out this week?" asked Storm as she turned to look at Sam and Breeze in the backseat.

"I'm good with your choices," Sam shrugged. "You seem to have it pretty mapped out."

"Me too Sis, you seem to have a good plan," Breeze added.

"Okay good. I figure we can lounge by the pool in the mornings or walk the beach and leave the afternoon and evenings for other things. We're here to relax and unwind and have a fun time."

"I do like to have a fun time," Dean said. "Especially with the woman I love."

"Awe…You're so sweet Babe," Storm cooed sliding closer to him and kissing his cheek. She leaned her head onto his shoulder and sighed in contentment.

They drove the rest of the way to the historical district in silence as the radio played softly filling the interior with music.

A/N: They all seem to be having an enjoyable time and so far, no ghosts. Only two more chapters to go and this story will be over. I am working on another Storm story to add to the series. Thanks for joining me on this journey. I do like reviews/comments. NC
