Chapter 2: Are we cool?

The girl's screaming caused the blonde boy to nearly jump out of bed, he glanced around frantically. He shook his head a few times, his eyes bloodshot, his gaze shooting around as if he was under some sort of attack.

"What?! Kim, what is-" He cut off upon finally noticing the girl standing a few feet from the bed. "Oh, morning Monique! Fancy seeing you here…" he greeted. He stretched his arms out, then wiped the sleep from his eyes, just as he did so every day.

It was a bit unusual for her to come over to his house, first thing in the morning. Maybe she had come over with Kim, for some reason? But, if that was the case, where was his best friend? Was she perhaps bringing him his (and Rufus's) breakfast? Or, maybe talking to Wade about something?

It was then he noticed that his bed seemed to be a little different than it usually was, much bigger than it had been yesterday morning. He found it to be even more comfortable, as it had a sort of sweet smell emanating from it (he would almost call it calming…). To add to his confusion, Monique was dressed VERY differently… She seemed to be wearing some sort of strange outfit. One that looked like a swimsuit, or… underwear?

His eyes opened wide, confirming that she was indeed standing in the middle of the room in her underwear. A red bra and matching panties, to be precise. His brain caught up to the fact that he was technically ogling one of his friends in her unmentionables, the thought spurring him to glance away in a hurry. "Why are you dressed like that?!" he shouted in panic.

"Why am I- Oh, I don't know… maybe because I just woke up… In my bed, in MY room!" the girl yelled, carefully studying his terrified expression. Even if said girl was never one to yell at anyone, she could still barely contain her anger and frustration at the moment.

Now that Ron was fully awake, he could clearly see that this room was vastly different from his own. Hell, the only real similarity was the poster of Steel Toe next to her desk. He looked down at his own bare chest and swallowed hard, lifting the blanket that was still covering him. Thankfully he still had his boxers on, but that gave him very little comfort when he looked back up to the angry girl.

"S-S-So… morning?" he stuttered, cowering in the face of her angry stare.

"Yeah… morning…" the girl bit out, gritting her teeth as she spoke. "Hey… could you please stop staring at me… right now?" she requested, covering her chest before turning away from him.

"Oh!" The blonde sidekick covered his face in an instant, mumbling a very quiet, 'sorry'.

The ravenette girl took the chance to quickly search for something to cover herself with. She noticed a small pile of clothes at the foot of her bed, but they didn't look like something that would fit her properly. 'Those are Ron's' she concluded, before glancing towards the trembling boy underneath her blanket. "Ron…" she began in a much cooler tone, watching him jump in panic. "I'm going to take a shower and get dressed… Your clothes are here on the floor… so…"

Ron simply nodded his head. "G-got it. I'll, uh… get dressed and go… Don't worry…" he assured, waiting for her to move.

"I would prefer it…" she shot back, moving out of the room and to her private bathroom. She leaned on the door and waited for almost a full minute before she heard the door of her room close, he'd most definitely left.

The girl felt her legs give out, she fell to the floor. "I can't believe I… did that…" she said to no one. She didn't really remember very much of last night, not after she and the blonde had left the match. But as she thought about it, she seemed to recall both of them agreeing to get something to eat and hang out.

"No, I'm not going to think about this now!" she declared, walking into her shower. First off, she was going to take a nice, very cold shower and calm down from this… dream she was having.

Then, hopefully she'd wake up…

It hadn't helped… not even a little bit!

The ravenette girl couldn't think of anything BUT Ron as she walked through the hallway, the same thoughts going through her head over and over again. What was she supposed to do when she saw him again? Laugh this morning off? Play it cool and avoid the subject? Scream at him? Ignore him completely?

Monique wasn't sure, but what she DID know was that she couldn't run away from this… After all, Ron was her friend. Every bit as much as Kim was, actually. "Oh crap… Kim…" Suddenly remembering about her redheaded friend didn't exactly fill her with glee. If Kim ever found about this, she would kill Monique! Okay, admittedly, she wouldn't go that far… But it would make her upset, from there it would be all too easy for Kim to just cut ties with her in favor of Ron.

'Okay… that's cool… I just need to make sure to talk to him, before he has a chance to talk to-" the ravenette resolved, although someone calling her name derailed her train of thought.

"Hey, Mon!" greeted a familiar voice next to her locker.

'Speak of the superhero…' Monique smiled as she watched her best female friend walk up to her, Ron wasn't with her!

"Hey girlfriend! How's it going?" she replied, standing next to her redheaded friend.

"Morning to you too. So, you look a lot better than yesterday! You had a good time, I take it?" Kim prodded.

Monique paled, her smile wavering, too shocked to even speak. She very forcefully opened her locker, purposely concealing her face behind the metal door. "A-A good time?" she repeated, her voice shaking a bit.

"Yeah, did you have fun with Ron?"

"F-Fun with R-Ron?" the ravenette parroted, now blushing far more intensely than before.

"Yeah… the wrestling with Ron, how was it?" Kim asked again. She recalled the numerous times that she'd gone with him in the past, the clear excitement that he'd had for the rest of the night. Heck, even the following day if it had been a big match.

"Wrestling… with Ron?" The fashionable teen couldn't help recalling the way he he'd been dressed in her bed when she'd woken up this morning. Monique started feeling a little hot, she was practically sweating. "Y-yeah… it was fun…" was all she could say, her head still stuck inside her locker.

"I bet… He probably couldn't stop talking about it… all the moves and stuff…" Kim giggled slightly to herself. "But, don't worry Mon, I'll be sure to go with him the next time so you won't have to…"

Monique swallowed hard before she opened her mouth. "It… it wasn't that bad…"

"Well, obviously not… Seeing as neither of you called to tell me it was a disaster…" the worldwide heroine pointed out.

'I'm pretty sure you'd have a different opinion, if you knew what really happened!' she wanted to scream, but kept herself under control. Finally finished with her locker, she glanced at the redhead.

Kim was looking around at the moment. "By the way… did you happened to see him today? I half-expected him to call me the second you two were done with your wrestling… but he never did…"

"Yeah… what a mystery…" the ravenette muttered to herself, glad that Kim hadn't seen Ron yet. 'I NEED to talk to him, BEFORE Kim gets the chance to…'

"Well, I guess that means he was just too tired to call me after you two were done… I'm kinda surprised, to be honest… He's usually too much for even me to keep up with…" the redheaded teen mused, opening her Kimmunicator.

Monique could only guess at what had been the reason for him being 'tired', as Kim put it. "W-Well… I'm sure we'll see him later…" she assured.

Kim nodded in response. "Yeah, you're right. Now, how about you tell me-"

"Actually, I have to take care of something" the fashionable ravenette quickly interjected. "I'll see you later in class?" She received a nod from her redheaded friend before she hurried away.

'Poor Mon… she still feels bad about that guy standing her up…' Kim mused, staring at her friend. It really bothered her to no end, seeing the ravenette in such a state. 'Maybe Ron and I can take her out shopping, or something?' Kim started giggling, thinking about how much fun both she and Monique would have. Meanwhile, her partner would undoubtedly spend much of the time groaning and complaining.

X-=-=-=-=-=-=-X

Monique walked down the corridor, her eyes firmly locked onto the ground. 'I'm a terrible friend… a horrible one!' she kept repeating silently. Kim was so worried about her, wanted to make her feel better, all while she- 'No! Stop thinking about it!' she admonished herself again. At first, Monique would have sworn that nothing… untoward had happened last night. But, as time went on, she started recalling what she'd done… What they'd BOTH done.

"Mon…" prompted someone in front of her, making her freeze.

Monique looked up to see the same blonde teen she was trying so desperately to stop thinking about. He was dressed like he almost always was… the same mishmash of shirts and baggy pants. So vastly different from what he'd worn yesterday. 'Or, what he wasn't wearing this morning…' her traitorous mind whispered, Monique turned red.

"M-Morning… a-again…" the blonde sidekick greeted, making it clear that what'd happened hadn't been some bad dream that had assaulted her mind.

The girl quickly looked around before she moved, grabbing him by the hand. She started pulling him away from the small number of people currently around them.

"M-Mon, what are-" Ron tried to ask, before he noticed the look she was giving him.

The two kept walking until they arrived at much more isolated part of the school, she finally let him go. "Okay… now, what were you saying?" the ravenette asked, the annoyance in her tone making it clear what kind of answer she was expecting.

"N-Nothing! I didn't say anything!" he quickly spoke up, even putting his hands up in a defensive gesture.

"You better not…" the girl hissed. "I hate to think what Kim would do, if she found out…" Monique growled, staring at the odd face Ron was making.

"Okay? I'm not sure why that's your biggest concern… but, okay…" the boy replied, moving into a normal stance and glancing around.

"Maybe because it would hurt her? Ever think about that?" the fashionable teen spat… before she remembered watching Kim walk away with some new pretty-boy the day before. 'Okay… maybe she won't be THAT bothered by it… But, it would still come as a shock to her…' Monique shook her head.

"I guess… So… can we just, like… forget it ever happened?" Ron asked pathetically, looking uncomfortable.

Monique scoffed. "That depends… do you have some way to reverse time, or erase my memories?" she asked rhetorically.

He took a good seven seconds to think about it, before he shook his head for a no. "Sorry… not yet… If I do find a way, I'll let you know…" the blonde teen answered.

"I'd say you were mocking me, but I know the kind of stuff you and Kim get caught up in. So, I guess I'll have to wait… Not much else to do…" She looked him over, taking note of his crestfallen expression. "Sorry… I just-" the girl tried to apologize, before he cut her off.

"No, I get it… I can't blame you… But, I WILL find a way to make this better… So, in the meantime… Can we ignore this, for now?" he asked hopefully.

"Yeah… that's probably for the best…", she smiled weakly at him. "Now… how about we head to class?" she suggested. It wasn't an ideal situation, but at least it was a start. She just hoped that when what had happened DID come to light, that it wouldn't ruin their friendship… or any of Kim's.

Class had been as dull as ever, droning on about some sort of battle or something. The only interesting thing that had happened had been a call to Kim. Both her and Ron had exited the classroom, gallivanting off to another mission. …at least that WAS the case, until the door opened once again and a familiar blonde reentered.

Their teacher had seemed confused, staring at the blonde sidekick before asking him to sit down.

'Why is Ron back, instead of on that mission with Kim? And where is Kim, anyway?' Monique wondered, glancing at the blonde teen.

After class ended, the student body filtered out of the room. Ron used the chance to exit as well, not noticing that he had someone on his tail.

"Ron, hold up!" Monique called out, he stopped.

"Oh… hey Mon…" The blonde teen looked away for a moment, clearly uncomfortable.

"Oh, don't be like that… You don't have to avoid me, just try to act normal…" she admonished.

"You're saying that to the guy whose motto is 'never be normal'?" He smirked at her.

"There you go, that's the spirit!" she encouraged. Monique looked around, still unable to see Kim. "So? … where is your partner? Still not back?" she asked. The unusual situation had piqued her interest, since when did Kim Possible go on missions alone?

"Oh, KP? Yeah, she had some stuff to take care of…" he responded vaguely.

"Is it a mission?" It had to be, there was no way that someone like Kim would use an excuse to get out of class, unless it was for a VERY important reason. The only reason there had ever been before… was a new mission.

"Y-Yeah, but she can handle it herself… Especially with the extra help…"

"What?" Extra help? Could he possibly be talking about himself? She didn't think so… That could only mean that there was someone else helping the redheaded heroine. But that couldn't be… right?

"Oh! It's nothing… don't worry about it!" Ron flashed her a smile, before changing the subject. "So, any big plans today?"

"No… not really…" she admitted, the two continuing to talk and walk. Monique was at the very least grateful that she could act normally around him… For the most part, that is.

Monique sat in her room, already finished with her homework. She'd enjoyed a nice, long shower. It had really done wonders for her mood, the ravenette finally relaxing a little.

Glancing at herself in the mirror a few times she smirked, approving of what she saw.

That was, up until she recalled how her day had started again. Her blonde friend's face appeared for a moment in her mind, before she banished the thoughts once more.

"It never happened… just ignore it…" she chanted, over and over. She picked up her phone, dialing a number.

It rang a few times, no answer from the other side. "That's odd… why isn't Kim picking up?" she asked herself, glancing at her phone's clock. It was still pretty early in the day, why hadn't Kim answered her?

She dialed again, only this time a different number… It rang a few seconds before a familiar voice called out.

"KP?" Ron answered, a bit forcefully.

"Sorry, not this time…" Monique replied, waiting for his response.

"Oh, hey Mon… my bad. I kinda answered without looking at the name… So, what's up?"

She assumed as much. Monique could already guess what his answer would be when she asked: "I was just trying to call Kim; do you know where she is?"

"Umm, yeah, I do… I just expected them to be done by now…" he admitted, his tone becoming slightly nervous upon noticing his little slip-up.

'Them?' Monique questioned, before she remembered the boy she'd seen walking with Kim the day before. 'So, she has another boyfriend already? Wow… that was quick.' Monique couldn't help but feel a little jealous at her friend's popularity with the boys, the sentiment vanishing as soon as she recalled that she was still on the phone with Ron. "Well, her loss! I was actually planning on asking both of you if you wanted to meet up and watch some horror movies together? Just the three of us… But, since she's too busy for us, why don't we meet up and see them? She can just miss out!" the ravenette teen exclaimed.

"Wha- Really?" He sounded pretty surprised at the suggestion. "Are you sure that's a good idea? …you know, after what happened?" the blonde teen pointed out quietly.

"Hey, I'm just suggesting that we meet up at your place and watch some flicks to pass the time. Nothing odd about that, right?" she prodded, a bit more loudly than she'd intended.

"I guess… But, are you sure? I thought you said-" Ron tried to remind her, Monique cutting him off.

"I know what I said! Now, I'll see you in an hour!" she declared, before hanging up.

Monique could only cup her face in her hands.

X-=-=-=-=-=-=-X

'Why the hell did I say that?!' the fashionable teen wailed, for the fifth time in past hour. All she'd wanted was to let this day (and the one before it) pass on and vanish into thin air. But, instead of that, she was now standing on the porch of the Stoppable's home. This would be the first time she'd ever been inside his house and, from how she felt at the moment… it would probably be the last. Why, in the HELL, had she suggested to meet up with him? In his own home, no less?! She doubted that Ron would take this as an invitation to try something… But still, why had she thought that this would be a good idea?

Monique rang the doorbell once, waiting patiently for the door to open. Ron stood at the entrance, dressed differently than what he'd worn to school that day (but looking nowhere near as good as he'd been dressed the night before). That had come as a relief to her, at least that meant he wouldn't appear quite as handsome as he had yesterday evening.

Monique herself had gone with a very simple ensemble of dark blue jeans, paired with a light-red shirt. Nothing too outrageous from someone like her, but not overly conservative either.

"Hey Mon" he greeted, sounding a little excited to see the girl.

"Hey yourself! So, I take it that Kim is still choosing to ignore our calls?" the girl asked pointedly. Ron moved to the side, clearing the doorway for his friend.

"Something like that… I'm sure she'll call later, when she's done that is…" Ron commented, leading the girl inside.

'Damn it Kim, why did you give him up like that? I thought you LIKED Ron! …and not just as your best friend…' The fashionista must have been mistaken, it appeared that the redheaded teen liked her boys on the cool and pretty side. …as opposed to someone she'd known for a long time. Monique found herself disappointed, she would have liked the two getting together. If only so she could have said 'I told you so!', the moment they had. "Well, her loss! So, did you pick out a movie for us yet?" she asked, hoping to change the subject.

"I did… I just hope that you'll like it…" The blonde teen grabbed the remote and pushed the power button, the screen flickered to life.

The two friends sat on the sofa in the living room, a pile of snacks on the table in front of them, they eyed their movie with mild interest.

Monique was genuinely confused about the plot, despite the fact that she found it fascinating. There was just so many different things happening, it kept her guessing as to what would unfold next. She did prefer movies with a bit more flare for the dramatic, with a dash of romance… But, watching something like that would have been an awful idea… considering who was sitting next to her.

It still boggled her to no end, why had she even suggested that they meet up to see a movie? What would have happened if she'd bid him good night and hung up? Ron would have been alone, waiting for Kim to come back… It wasn't like Monique was married to him or something, they weren't even dating. But… she'd still felt bad for him.

'So, I offered to meet with Ron just so he wouldn't be alone?' Monique wasn't sure, but took the excuse nonetheless. It wasn't like she hated him… She wasn't even trying to avoid Ron, despite what had happened. If anything, she was a good friend… Just a good friend.

She noticed the blonde sidekick glancing at her from time to time, it wasn't clear why… But, she could definitely guess. "What's up, Ron?" Monique asked casually, attempting to conceal that she'd caught him staring.

"I was just wondering if you wanted to start up another movie, or maybe call it a night?" the teen explained, gesturing to the clock on the wall.

Monique glanced at it, realizing that she had been here for over two hours. Their movie had just ended, so this would be an ideal place to stop and call it a night. It wouldn't even seem rude on her part, he himself had suggested it. This was good, all around!

She glanced at him for a moment, noticing his uncertain expression. 'Was that the reason he kept looking at me? To try and find the right moment to end the night?' Monique wasn't sure why, but she didn't like that one bit…

'Think you can get rid of me that easily?' she mused, smiling at him. "I think I can go for one more movie, or is it that you're tired of me already?" she teased. Too nervous to pick up on his friend's joke, Ron adopted a worried expression.

"No! Nothing like that… I just didn't want you to think that you had to stay with me, like KP does… Also, the whole mess last night… things were kinda awkward today" he assured her.

'Oh… so he did figure it out…' She simply shrugged. "Please, I'd already forgotten about yesterday… I'm cool with it…" She smiled at him. "It just happened, you know? Not a big deal… Even if it wasn't my fault…" the fashionista shot back.

Monique heard the strangest sound escape his lips, a mix of a scoff and a snort of laughter. She stared at him, one eyebrow raised. "Something to say about that… Ron?"

"No, it's-" He paused and seemed to think for a moment, as if considering something carefully. "Actually, yeah, I do… That whole thing, about it not being your fault? Let's just say, I remember it… a bit differently, that's all…"

"Oh, really now? Care to remind me what REALLY happened?" she goaded him.

"Are you sure you want me to?" the blonde teen asked, shooting Monique a small smirk that seemed to challenge her.

"Are you saying I'M the one who instigated it?" She started to laugh loudly.

"What? YOU'RE the one who came onto ME, if I remember correctly" the blonde sidekick responded.

"What?! No, I didn't! You were the one to say something witty and started it!" The ravenette's face turned red.

"ME? Say something witty?" He scoffed. "Now I know for sure that I'm right… you just came over to me and started making out with me…"

Monique felt equal parts angry and embarrassed at his words. So much so, that she didn't even think before her body moved on its own. Her leg swung over as she sat down on Ron's thighs, now facing him on the sofa, their groins pressing against one another.

Her smile returned in a triumphant fashion from the sight of Ron's red cheeks, they looked like they would explode at any moment. "See here? I really doubt that it happened like that, seeing as you can't even look at me without wanting to run away…"

"I just wasn't expecting it! …and that doesn't really prove anything!" he insisted, clearly embarrassed.

"Sure…" Monique smirked at him. "So, you don't mind me sitting here a little longer, right?" she challenged. Monique already expected him to fold, like he had so many times in the past.

"No, not at all! It's just like last night – so, no big - right?" the blonde teen answered without any thought, almost as if he already knew what she'd been planning.

"R-Right…", she cursed her stutter. "No big deal…"

The two sat there in silence, the movie's credits playing in the background.

'Why did I think this was a good idea?!' Monique wailed. It was childish, but she refused to back down and admit that she'd been wrong. "Say…" she began, a new topic popping into her mind. "…who was that guy Kim was with, the one we saw yesterday?" Monique asked, if only to break the silence.

"What- Oh, that guy? … just someone Kim and I know… no one important!" the blonde replied quickly, trying to shut that conversation down, the subject clearly made him uncomfortable.

'He really doesn't want to talk about it… he must be unhappy about Kim seeing someone…' Monique decided. She looked at his expression, it was indeed troubled. More surprising however, was just how comfortable she was at the moment. Sitting on his lap, staring up at him. His face was annoying her… Not his looks, just the expression he was making.

'Can I cheer him up? Or, at least distract him?' she wondered, now he seemed to be studying her own face.

"Mmm? What is it?" Ron asked, flashing a tiny smile at the beauty on top of him.

Her body shot forward, her lips meeting his own.

And that's done!

Don't forget to tell me what you think!
