You know the sight you get when two statues are forced to have a staring contest… I don't but the thought had crossed my mind whenever I think of Nick Fury and Batman being in the same room… just think or imagine.
Having a Spy and a Detective in the same room, one willing to do anything to keep the peace, and the other holding himself back in fear of becoming what he kills.
Oh wait…
Sitting back with the meeting/debriefing room within the Helicarrier, Ken sat back with his arms wrapped around Aranea and Ahri, Akali resting her head atop his. The rest of the Celestials were watching the sight of Batman and Nick FUCKING Fury have a staring contest, with Venessa wanting to help the pirate win.
The funny sight stopped by Ken who had become worried for her safety in case, which left her sitting on Ken's Lap curled up for a nap.
Staring at the League and the Galactic Enforcers, Ken spoke with a tone of tired annoyance.
"Batman if you want to kiss him just do it, you're holding up this debriefing so swallow you're pride and let the GE debrief us" seeing all eyes on him, Ken stared at Batman who turned to him with narrowed eyes, this only prompted ken to raise his right hand with built in claws popping out with a flex.
"I'll gladly gauge you're eyes out if you even try" seeing Batman stare further, Ken narrowed his eyes until Superman spoke.
"He's right, the more time we waste here, the more time these two mercenaries get to find what they're looking for" turning to Ultimos who gave a nod of thanks, Ken felt his attention turn to Martian Manhunter with a curious thought.
Looking to the Omnitrix, his mind began to go through several scenarios before turning to Angela… who had been quiet the entire time they were on the Watch tower… a wary eye aimed towards Hawkgirl.
Frowning at this, Ken spoke quietly as Ultimos gave a debriefing to Fury and Batman.
"Angela… you ok?" seeing her flinch at her name being called, the doctor gave a sincere smile with a nod, moving closer she spoke quietly.
"I'm, thank you for the concern" seeing her wings twitch, Ken turned to Hawkgirl before turning back to Angela who had turned back to her current worry until she felt a hand gently wrap around her own.
Looking down she found her cheeks reddening at Ken's reassuring squeeze.
"We'll be here to back you up if things start" nodding in thanks, Angela stepped back with a more confidant stance, a smile on her beautiful face as Ken turned to a smiling Aranea.
"What?" her only response was a gentle caress of his skull helmet.
"You charmer" snorting at the tease, Ken leaned closer to speak quietly.
"You I can understand, Ahri I'm still waiting for an explanation and don't forget Akali" seeing her smile shyly at the mention of Ahri, she spoke quietly.
"She thought of trying me before you, she had been asking me on how big you are… and how long you last… How gentle you are, she has it bad that's for sure" turning to the blushing Fox girl to his right, Ken spoke knowingly.
"Wow, if you wanted a shot, you could have just asked" seeing her giggle softly, they all looked up at hearing a Beep come from Ultimos.
"Our observers have detected something" pressing the button on his belt, a hologram came to life, showing the inside of a mine with the two aliens present, SixSix speaking in his gibberish language, of which Valcanus turned to him with an offended look on his face.
"Yeah, well it would go a lot faster if you helped too, you know"
Seeing this, Fury spoke.
"That's a strip mine" frowning, Fury turned to Ultimos.
"What exactly is the second ingredient for the Explosive?"
"Bicenthium Alloy a rare ingredient in the wide galaxy, an ore that you humans have taken to calling, Iron" seeing Fury groan, he spoke.
"We have enough of that exposed they could be anywhere and have it immediately instead of mining for it" standing up, Ken stretched with his neck popping beneath his armor.
"Does it matter, we have our time limit, let's get to it"
Stepping off of the Quinjet with his own team to where Max had parked the Rust Bucket, Ken approached the back of the trailer where a very sophisticated workbench popped out, reaching inside the storage, Ken brought out a large rifle with a Chainsaw Bayonet under the barrel, revving it with a pull of the lever, Ken smiled at the tool before holstering it to his back, a recently added magnet clutching the new Lancer firmly, testing it Ken moved his arms to feeling the rifle move with his muscles.
Nodding at this, Ken moved back to the Quinjet with his team noticing the weapon immediately, with Moira nodding with approval.
"I can just tell the JL are not going to like that new toy" instead of turning to her, Ken spoke.
"They can suck my fat one" when Akali spoke, she had all eyes on her.
"I call dibs first"…
That ruined the badass moment…
Which made Ken turn to the horny ninja.
"Really?" seeing her shrug with her eyes potraying a playful grin beneath her mask, Ken shook his head with a snort as the Quinjet took off.
Setting themselves down, the speakers above spoke with Furies voice.
"Alright, people, our dear friends of the Justice have gone ahead of you, the Ge protesting to hold off for you but the League aka Batman suggesting being a dumb bitch, elected to go on ahead to avoid causalities, Batman doesn't seem to be you're fan Loki!" getting snorts and chuckles from his team, Loki rolled his eyes with disinterest.
"Anyway, the League brought another group into the mix, a team as they call it consisting of their old protégé's, keep an eye on them, the coordinates will be sent to the Pilot" nodding to themselves, the flight over was uneventful… until Genji spoke to both Ken and Aranea.
"is it too late to apologise for unintentionally teaching V a swear word?" the only answer he got was small glares, making him wince while Hanzo shook his head with an amused smile.
"You brought that on yourself, brother" watching the two bicker, Ken shook his head before bringing up his new rifle, looking it over, he began to clean it for a last minute inspection.
Tweaking the chainsaw he made sure the stock fitted more comfortably.
Checking over his ammo, Ken finally felt ready as the bay doors opened to show the rooftop of a building, with Wonder Woman and GE waiting for them.
Seeing them ready for business, Ken spoke.
"Alright, what mess did Batman make worse?" seeing Diana narrow her eyes at a smirking Evelyn, she turned to Ken with her eyes softening somewhat.
"Batman has sent in a team, The Flash has gone in alongside them to act as a dampener on damage" seeing Ken stare at her with a tilt of his head, Ken sighed while shaking his head.
"How that man is considered intelligent, I will never understand" moving past her, Ken approached Ultimos who stood with a look.
"I have to say, you're local heroes aren't one for rules or the code of conduct" giving the alien a look, Ken spoke with a shrug.
"Villains tend to not follow rules or play fair, why should we?" seeing Ultimos move to protest, Ken spoke.
"If one of you were taken hostage and forced to surrender, would you do it?" seeing Ultimos frown, he spoke with conviction.
"If it is the only choice" shaking his head, Ken spoke with a tone of disappointment.
"But what if the bad guy doesn't release them, instead he kills them and you've chosen to surrender on the blind faith they will as I said, release them?" seeing the look of confliction on his Face, Ken spoke while setting his hand on Ultimos' right shoulder, firmly shaking it reassuringly.
"I would have fought them without warning, a feint so to speak, I'd move in a fashion of surrender before striking, I wouldn't let anyone hurt those I love or work for" turning to Aranea as she looked over the area, Ken turned back to Ultimos who smiled.
"She chose a worthy mate" looking forward with his cheeks reddening at the praise, Ken shrugged.
"And all it took was helping her find her daughter" hearing this, Ultimos spoke.
"What do you mean by that?" shrugging with a casualness of the story he was told, Ken told the abridged story he was given.
"Husband was a High school sweet heart, they married after graduating, Venessa was born, two years later when the FOH retards began to rise against supposed "Freaks of Nature". When Aranea exposed herself to her now ex-husband… he went into a rage at being married to a "freak" it got worse when he realized what Venessa looked like, he didn't even care what she said, he just got a knife and tried to stab them… Aranea was at tears when she told me the betrayal when her husband did that… the scumbag never even got a trial for attempted murder" cracking his knuckles as rage began to build up, Ken spoke with a low growl.
"When I find this ass hole… I'm breaking every bone in his body" getting a nod of agreement, Ultimos spoke.
"At least allow me to have a few strikes" turning to the alien, Ken spoke with a small chuckle.
"I knew there was a reason I liked you, come on, if we're to keep the damage to a minimum if Batman's involved" with that they gathered for an assault.
Moving through the factory with Akali and Aranea, Genji and Hanzo followed from above to add a height advantage to the duo.
Stopping at seeing Valcanus walking to a smelting bowl with a Cart, this team the Batman sent made the four deadpan, with the young heroes looking like they were easily dispatched.
"This is the team Batman sent?" turning to Aranea, Hanzo spoke through the ear piece.
"They were disorganized, they were easily distracted and taken down, the flyer from what ken had mentioned, has a utility of tools at his disposal… no doubt he was the one who had done this" nodding in agreement, even though Hanzo could not see it, Aranea spoke.
"Alright… How should we do this, should we separate them?" waiting for a confirmation, Hanzo spoke.
"No, this was most likely done by the flying one, we should focus on him the most" moving to acknowledge this, Ken spoke over the radio.
"We got a problem" looking up as the roof shook, Aranea spoke in confusion.
"Loki, what's happening?" feeling another shake, Ken crashed through the rooftop with a bronze coloured cyborg crab man who landed on Ken before scurrying away to SixSix and Valcanus.
Moving to sit up, Ken gave a groan.
"Another old face" was all Ken said before lying back down.
"Owwwww" laying in the middle of the sidekicks, Ken felt his mind tingle, making him wince he felt compelled to look to the right to stare at a young green skinned woman, her eyes wide in alarm as she was constricted in… an orange webbing.
Climbing onto his feet, Kraab spoke with a mocking laugh.
"You didn't expect me to attack from above, did you!?" giving him a look, Ken made a gesture for one minute while turning to the girl whose eyes widened as he projected his mind, looking to the Omnitrix, Ken turned to the three aliens.
"Who are you again?" this in turn only served to piss off the Kraab who aimed his claw laser.
Bracing himself, Ken felt the shockwave from the strike with smoke hiding his presence and location.
Moving towards the greenette, he tore her bindings with her touching the Omnitrix without hesitation, looking into her eyes, Ken nodded before pressing the dial.
The green flash blinding the three aliens before Valcanus was sideflown by Ultimos, leaving SixSix stunned at the sudden attack before being tossed to the floor by Synaptak while Kraab was held at bay by Tini.
Feeling himself thrown into an empty smelting bowl, Kraab looked up suddenly as a large figure loomed over him.
Looking up, his eyes would had widened as he stared at the terrifying sight of a Yautja, only this one looked larger and angrier before it dived at him, sending them both through the smelting bowl, feeling his stomach jab with a stab left behind, kraab aimed at fired his claw, only for it to be held up to the ceiling by a Xenomorph, seeing this, kraab gave a yell of anger.
"HE SCANNED THE MARTIAN'S DNA!" ducking down after his outburst, the newly turned Martian began a snake of blades that curled around Kraab who gave a pained yell of horror as the blades dug through his armor, getting another scream as the claw was cracked and twisted beyond use, moving to try and free himself, Ken became a large gorilla like creature with an organic looking hammer in his right arm, staring as death approached, Kraab closed his eyes… only to give a pain grunt as he was knocked to the ground, his limbs refusing to obey his mental commands with Ken turning around, taking the form of a… White Martian with a Gladiator like armor, a Pauldron too large for his left shoulder.
Sniffing the air while looking to the battles, Ken spotted Tini fairing against Valcanus who at the moment was overpowering her if not for Synaptak helping her by deflecting blows meant to hurt.
Seeing her send a strike, Hanzo came into view with two arrows lodging themselves in his armor, making him look down in confusion until the armor exploded… leaving the Dectrovite flying towards Ken who caught him by the head. Looking at him briefly, Ken stood up tall as his throat and jaw grew at his command, raising Valcanus above him, the detrovite began to cry for his life at the maw of sharp teeth.
Dropping him Ken caught him with his left arm while laughing hysterically, punching the criminal to dream land, following that was SixSix landing with dents everywhere on his armor, followed by Aranea, Ultimos and Genji landing around him.
Turning to him suddenly, Ken gained an idea as he reached out mentally, looking through SixSix's mind, the mercenary gave a gurgled cry as he held his head until Ken left his mind with a smirk as SixSix's voice became clearer.
"What pain. What-WHAT DID YOU DO TO ME!" seeing SixSix turn to Ken as he stalked towards him, the new Martian stood over him with sharp teeth.
"I merely learned you're language" seeing SixSix flinch at the implication, Ken spoke with a frown.
"what is with you're siblings naming themselves after numbers?" flashing into a green light, Ken quickly made SixSix grab the Omnitrix with another DNA sample catalogued.
"It is a culture we adopted… you wouldn't understand" shrugging as SixSix fell to his knees, Ken spoke.
"Who hired you anyway?" turning to him with a weak laugh, SixSix spoke a name that made the GE and every other alien present
"Thanos" with that the mercenary fell unconscious… with Ken's expression hidden by his skull helmet.
