Dust to dust
It hadn't been that long after their supposedly encounter with the Knights, if you could call it that, after the encounter, Fury had sent a message to Gina who had relayed it to Ken's team along with the Rust Bucket.
They were given a reassignment due to Fury finding a conveniently grown jungle/forest where signs of a temple lay.
And seeing this he sent the mission.
With Ken and his team now ready in their gear, With Brittany clutching the Lancer eagerly with Ken and Aranea sharing a knowing look, Gina merely looked once and gawked at the odd attachment under the barrel.
When they came to the forest's edge, Ken had a double take as Max exited the RV with Kevin… wearing a very old uniform like the one Phil wore.
Kevin had a mortified look on his face as he wore a makeshift version of it, Gwen followed soon after with Ben, the two posing with fake guns with their hands.
Seeing this, Brittany spoke.
"Ok, that's adorable" getting nods of agreement, Hanzo and Genji moved ahead upon Ken's orders, moving to take his rifle, Brittany moved ahead with her hips swaying as it rested on his right shoulder.
Turning to Aranea, Ken bit his knuckle while Evelyn smacked his ass as she followed the others, Turning to them, Ken turned back to Aranea as she stood calmly.
"You ok to stay with Venessa?" seeing her turn to the Trailer as a cheer rang out from the young Kineceleran, Aranea turned to Ken with a fanged smile, her hands on her hips.
"I had to raise her by myself, We'll be fine" moving up to Ken as his armor formed over his body, his head was left exposed as Aranea leaned against his chest.
"Just be sure you get back safely, alright" smiling at her, Ken gave her a small meaningful kiss before his helmet formed after he stepped away from her.
"I'll look both ways before crossing" seeing her giggle, Aranea turned and moved to the trailer, Ken staring at her hips until he tripped, making her turn as he stood back up quickly.
"I'm good" with that he rushed after the Celestials.
Finding the temple in the middle of the forest, Ken looked it over before shrugging.
"I've definitely seen better in Uncharted" moving to 2B's side, Gwen held the mask to her face as they tried to pry the temple doors open.
"Fall in, Gwen's got the smart idea" seeing Genji, 9S and Hanzo turn to him before turning to Gwen as she pressed a stone in the wall, before it opened to show a doorway to stairs leading downward.
Staring at the sight, 9S spoke with a slouch in his shoulders.
"Why is it always stairs?" moving to speak, 2B beat Ken to the punch, seeing her shrug, Ken had to snort.
"Hey, it keeps us fit, doesn't it?" looking down to her form fitting body, Ken nodded in agreement.
"It does wonders" moving to go down, Max stepped forward with Ken frowning at the silence.
Looking around to the others, Ken shrugged while allowing Ben, Gwen and Kevin to walk after Max.
"Watch you're step as well, don't know how unstable it could be in here" getting voices of agreement, they made solid progress through the temple, it had been an alarming wake up for Gwen as she nearly fell, if not for the quick reflexes of Genji, though the fact Max was worried more on the mask then Gwen, struck a cord with Ken as they finally found themselves in an open area… with stairs leading up to a pedestal where a Sword of all things sat.
making Ahri speak with an annoyed look.
"Are you telling me that mask has led us to nothing… but a sword?" turning to the others, Ken jumped as Gina gasped in awe, rushing up the stairs, Brittany went to stop her if not for a large figure to land before the girl.
Showing it's face to resemble the mask Gwen held, Ken moved as the mayan god, Ah Puch, raised his hands, shoving Gina aside, Ken gave a grunt of pain as he was set flying to the right, skidding on the ground, Max turned to him in alarm.
"Get that sword and try and make it stop" was all Ken spoke before wincing in pain.
"That hurt more than expected" raising the Omnitrix, Ken felt his right leg grabbed.
Looking down his eyes widened as he was tossed by Ah Puch who had 2B's sword impaled through his chest, the androids trying in vein to stop the Mayan god who back handed 2B aside while Ken tumbled about, smashing through a set of wooden platforms, Ken grunted as he climbed to his feet.
Moving to dial a form Ken felt his arm grabbed by AH Puch who lifted him to be face to face.
"The… anomaly" was all Ah Puch whispered with a hiss like voice, Ken stared at the God in alarm as his stomach was caved in slightly by a jab, making Ken's eyes bulge at the strike before being slammed into the floor, his armor thankfully taking the brunt of the strikes, he was about to be stomped on if not for Akali to slash one of the Mayan gods eyes while Evelyn snaked her scarf/ tails at Ken who felt them wrap around his torso before being pulled away.
Seeing Angela moved to tend to his wounds, Ahri and Kai'Sa moved to Akali's side while Brittany fired the lancer in an effort to distract the God, and upon it seeing Evelyn, it gave a hiss as the two shared a glare.
"Demonesssssss, you've forsaken yourself for weaklingssss?"
Shrugging at Ah Puch, Evelyn smiled smugly.
"What can I say… they're more interesting" this response merely gained a confused head tilt from Ah Puch, snarling in sudden agner, Evelyn rushed forward with her arms reaching for the Mayan God with her tails snaking up to stop the arms mid way down to her, leaving them in a stalemate while Genji and Hanzo flew around the duo, giving Evelyn support alongside Ahri who had sent an orb of pink energy, making Ah Puch stagger to the right, 2B chose this moment to strike by kicking her sword straight through the god, sending it free, the God gave a roar of rage and pain, kicking Evelyn away, it turned to 2B until it noticed Ken and Angela, the medic gasping at being seen, Ken aimed his hand-cannon with a scowl, his wounds half way treated.
"KILLLLLL!" seeing the god rush at them, Ken's eyes widened until a loud bang echoed within the temple… blinking at the sight of Ah Puch stumbling a step back, the right side of it's head revealed itself to be missing a chunk of its head.
Looking around with a whine, the god growled while looking for whoever shot at it.
Ken however, recognized the sniper shot from his youth from another life.
Looking back he spotted movement above a scaffold before it stopped to aim.
Followed by another shot to echo with another hole entering Ah Puch.
Leaving a large hole over it's heart, the God gave a roar before turning to see Ben pull the sword form it's pedestal, Gwen, Kevin and Max turning to it suddenly as it gave a roar of undeniable rage, moving towards them while ignoring the attacks, Ken scowled as he dialed for a hero.
Hearing the flash behind it, Ah Puch turned around to stare an unanticipated sight.
Stomping towards it with teeth bared, Fenrir gave a roar as his tribal tattoo's glowed red.
Rushing at one another, the temple shaking never registered to them during their punch trades.
"Everyone out!" was all Angela ordered while flying to Max and the kids, Kai'Sa doing so as well, turning to Ken as he thrashed the god, Brittany was still firing at the gods knees for Ken to keep winning.
"Brittany, we need to go!" turning to Gina's frantic voice, Ben moved by her to run behind Ah Puch who was forced to his knees, it's hands held tightly to keep Fenrir's glowing jaw from it's face, Ah Puch's eyes widened in pain and horror as the sword was impaled straight through it's mouth, gagging as Blood spilled from the wound, it turned to Ben weakly.
"No one messes with my brother while I'm around" watching the god fall down death, ben went to get the sword… if only it didn't break down into dust, seeing this Ken grabbed both Brittany and Ben before rushing to the exit, setting them both on his back, the two looked back to see the temple crumbling behind them.
Turning forward with alarmed looks, the two screamed as Ken moved about to avoid falling debris, he reached for the two before throwing them forward as a larger piece of debris crashed down upon him.
Leaving Ben tumbling until Brittany stopped him, turning to the entrance as a cloud rose from the temple falling, she squinted her eyes in an attempt to see through.
Seeing a figure stepping out, her eyes widened at seeing a woman walking out with a human Ken leaning against her, her skin covered in a deep blue glow while her amber eyes stared at them.
A set of tiny wiskers on her cheeks, she gave a small smile to Ken as he gave a tired laugh before wincing.
What followed was the group gathering around a camp fire with Gina giving her report to Fury… who instead of being angry at finding out the sword broke apart… he laughed loudly, which made them all smile… all except for the unknown sniper whose eyes remained solely on Ken.
When Fury's laughing skit finally stopped at Gina turning off the screen, they all turned to the sniper who perked up at the sudden attention she had.
"So… anyone want to know who the kitty cat is?" turning to Genji, Hanzo spoke.
"Who are you?" turning back to the sniper, she placed a hand over a pendant over her heart.
"I was a prisoner of Vilgax, his prized assassin if you wish to be technical" seeing her narrow her eyes in a calm rage, she turned to Ken who stared at her with a frown.
"Upon his death, I had finally caught a glimpse of hope of freedom" turning to Ken, she gave a genuine smile as tears fell from her eyes.
"I am Amélie Lacroix, a Therini-sapian…" turning to Ken once more, she stood and bowed down to her knees to Ken who stared with wide eyes.
"You freed me, Kenneth Tennyson" staring at the alien Saber-tooth, Ken turned to Aranea who had a smile while her hand was on her face.
"Only you, Ken… only you" hearing this from Max, Ken cleared his throat while standing up, making Amelie perk up with a worried frown until Ken held his hand down to her.
"Than stand with me as an equal from this day forth, Lacroix" staring at his hand, she took it carefully before being pulled to her feet, Ken trying in vain to not stare at her shapely body before turning to the others.
"Welcome to the Celestials, Amelie" turning back to her, Ken saw her eyes show life in them before she turned to him and pulled him into a kiss, followed by her hugging him with tears in her eyes, sobs of joy echoing in the camp.
I should also say, Thanos has no interest in the Omnitrix, that is all
