Harry took his seat in the Grimmauld Place kitchen next to his best friends Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger. He was glad to finally be away from the Dursleys', as they had beaten and starved him all summer.
Everyone was eating the delicious dinner Mrs. Weasley made. When suddenly,
"Harry? What's that on your neck?" Hermione asked as she looked closer, Harry quickly pulled up his shirt to try and cover the mark, but Hermione just pulled it down and examined it.
"Harry, that looks exactly like a hand print." Harry just looked away.
"You have to tell an adult!"
"Tell them what?"
"That your being abused." said Ron. The trio didn't realize that the room was gradually getting quieter as everyone else started listening in, Harry began to pale,
"I'm not!" he spluttered.
"It adds up mate, when I first met you, you said something about a cupboard and only being allowed Dudley's hand-me-downs, in our second year when me, Fred, and George rescued you from the Dursleys', they had you locked in your bedroom with bars on the window and a cat flap on the door!" By this point the entire room was listening but the trio still hadn't noticed, Harry was getting paler and paler with each word spoken. "In our third year you accidentally blew up your aunt because she called your father a lay-low unemployed drunk and compared your mother to a dog. In our fourth year we had to send you food because those imbeciles were starving you. This year you have a hand size bruise on you neck and I bet it's not the only one!"
"Harry you are being abused." stated Hermione, "Locked in a cupboard for 10 years! Not to mention every year you seen to come back skinnier."
"I'm not abused."
"Harry this IS abuse!" yelled Hermione, "Does your cousin get treated the same way as you? Pushed around? Beaten and starved? Thrown in cupboards and locked away? Does he do endless chores like a house elf too?"
"'Mione." Ron said quietly.
"What Ronald?" She snapped.
"Look around." And she did, and so did Harry. Realizing that all eyes were on them, they slowly sank back into their seats.
The room suddenly filled with shouting, but the one that stood out the most was Professor McGonagall's, "I TOLD YOU ALBUS ALL THOSE YEARS AGO! I TOLD YOU THOSE WERE THE WORST SORT OF MUGGLES IMAGINEABLE! BUT DID THE OH SO MIGHTY ALBUS DUMBLEDORE LISTEN!? OH NO HE DIDN'T! HE IS NOT GOING BACK THERE AND IF HE HAS NO WHERE TO GO I'LL LOOK AFTER HIM!"
The room turned to glare at the man in question.
"You knew didn't you?" snarled Tonks.
"Knew?" Dumbledore asked, his brow furrowed. "Nymphadora what are you-"
"Don't play games Dumbledore." Remus hissed, "You knew he was being abused in that house hold. And yet you sent him back there, year after year."
"I-"
"Don't bother denying it!" yelled Bill.
Dumbledore stared at Mrs. Weasley, who was now giving healing potions to Harry.
"Will-will he be alright?" Dumbledore asked wearily, Sirius snorted.
"Yes Albus, your golden boy will rise again and fight for you." he said sourly. Dumbledore flinched.
"I-I...I only-I"
"Save it!" Hermione suddenly spoke up, "You knew and you left him there! That's all we need to know."
"I'm going to get the Dursleys' arrested," Tonks drawled sarcastically, "If you talk real quick-like, I just might leave your name out of it. This is your only chance."
This effectively shut Dumbledore up.
Kingsley and Tonks got up,
"Coming kids?" asked Kingsley.
Harry, Ron, and Hermione followed them out the door. Tonks grabbed Ron and Hermione's arms, while Kingsley grabbed Harry's, and disappeared.
They reappeared at the Ministry atrium, Kingsley let them down into the DMLE. Ignoring Dawlish's glare, ignoring Scrimgeour's astonished stare, they walked right up to Madam Bones's office and pounded on the door.
"Enter!" a voice thundered.
"We're here to report a case of child abuse and neglect." Ron said as he stepped through the door.
Bones frowned as she got her quill ready as Kingsley closed the door.
"Against whom?" She asked.
"The muggle guardians of Harry James Potter." Kingsley said roughly.
The quill fell out of Bones's hand.
