They would never know
She sat below the tree, not wanting to speak to anyone. She was frustrated, irritated, annoyed, angry and sad all at the same time. She put her hands and head down on her knees and found the little plants on the ground very interesting. Not noticing the person beside her, she continued looking at the plants.
He came to the tree where she was, troubled by seeing her upset, and sat down beside her. She did not look up. He saw her soft, bushy brown hair falling on her face as she gazed at God knows what. He gently put his hand around her. Then he too saw what she was gazing at.
She turned around, not surprised. He gave her his smile and she forgot everything else… even the little plants. His sincere, true smile always held a spell over her. She gazed into his emerald green eyes; he into her chocolate brown ones.
She smiled, her bad mood vanishing immediately. She just thought how cute he looked with his raven black hair on his forehead like that, really so cute… She turned her gaze back to the plants, and they continued watching their perfect symmetry together in silence.
They never understood what they were… such incidents always left them wondering the same thing in silence… were they good friends, or something more..?
They would probably never know…
