Authors Note: I still don't own the Avengers. All right to them belong to Disney and Marvel. I'm just borrowing them for creative liberties. I promise I'll give them right back once I'm done! I do however own Lizzie and Hailey! Just a little reminder for everyone who reads my story. I'm only able to update about once a week. Typically those updates will be on Sundays/Mondays. I'm a full time college student so I usually end up writing the chapters on Saturdays, maybe Fridays if I don't have a test coming up. I'm seriously so appreciative of the people who are enjoying this story so far! You are all the absolute best! I hope you enjoy this chapter!

Previously on White Phoenix:
"…everything was normal. Lizzie and I always watch the same movie on girl's night. Every month we watch Captain America: The First Avenger. It was literally a typical night for us. Which is why I have no clue how I ended up here," I shouted in exasperation. During my quick rant I noticed I had stood up so I collapsed back down into my seat and put my head in my hands. The tent was completely silent and when I looked up I saw everyone's eyes staring between me and Captain America.'
My mouth fell open and I sheepishly looked at Col. Phillips. "I'm assuming you haven't told them that part yet Sir" I questioned. Colonel Phillips shook his head side to side, "No I was going to let you tell your story and as a group we'll decide what to do with you." I let out a sigh and nodded.
"Alright well what I'm going to tell you is going to make me sound crazy, well crazier than I already seem. Like I told you I'm from the future. Except I don't believe it's that simple. You see where I come from none of you are real people. Well you are real people but your names aren't the same. Captain Rogers your name is Chris Evans, Agent Carter your name is Hayley Atwell. You see in my world you guys are film actors. I say my world because where I come from Captain America is a comic series that was developed into movies. I believe that not only am I from the future but that I'm also from different Earth."
"Wait a minute. A different Earth? Is that even possible," Captain Rogers asked and looked at Howard Stark. Howard looked at Captain Rogers and said, "I'm not sure Cap. It's not something that has been studied."
I let out a sigh and said, "It may have not been studied yet but that doesn't mean it's not possible. According to The Flash travel between different universes is possible but it would require a significant amount of energy. Energy that may be possible in my time, but I wouldn't think it would be possible here. Oh, also The Flash is a television series, but the science behind it is quite accurate, even if it is mostly theoretical."
"So what you're saying is that something created energy large enough to bring you here. Why here though? For what purpose," asked Howard.
I shrugged my shoulders , "I don't know. I don't have an answer for you. I really wish I did though. I want to know why I'm on a different Earth where my favorite movies characters are real people." I let out a gasp and my head shot towards Howard Stark and Sgt. Barnes. Both of them looked at me and I heard Captain America ask me what was wrong. When I looked towards the Captain I had tears in my eyes. I managed to choke out a response, "I know how everything ends. I know what's going to happen to every single person in this room."
Colonel Phillips stepped forward and said, "If that's true then we can't send you back to the States. We need to use what you know to help us win this war."
I shook my head and said, "No I don't think I should interfere Sir. Bad things happen to those meddle with time."
The Colonel stood up from his chair, "We will discuss this later Ms. Johnson. For now you will bunk with Agent Carter. Agent Carter you have my permission to take Ms. Johnson to the nearest town and gather appropriate clothing for her. Make sure she doesn't stand out. Take Sgt. Barnes and Cpt. Rogers with you as your escorts. Mr. Stark I need to speak with you privately. Everyone else is dismissed."
I stood up with a nod of my head and followed Agent Carter to her bunk. Neither of us spoke on the way to her tent. I quickly changed into clothes that she handed me and threw my hair up into a ponytail to keep it out of my eyes. Agent Carter quickly did minimal makeup on my face and gave me bright red lipstick. We were only gone for about ten to fifteen minutes before we headed back towards the vehicles that were parked outside of headquarters.
"Captain Rogers and Sargent Barnes should be along shortly," Agent Carter stated.
I shrugged my shoulders and said, "I'm not in any rush. This is all a little strange to me, and if I'm honest I don't know what's going to happen to me."
"I wish I could say I understand where you're coming from, but unfortunately your situation is completely new, to all of us," Agent Carter said with a small smile on her lips. I shot her a half smile and quietly stood there waiting. A few more minutes passed when I heard laughing coming from the direction of a large tent to the left of headquarters. I saw Cpt. Rogers and Sgt. Barnes come out carrying a basket. They headed in our direction and as they got closer I noticed that the basket was full of rations. I raised an eyebrow at the amount of rations in the basket and saw Cpt. Rogers face turn pink.
"I tend to eat a lot of food ever since I received the serum. Some tests were run by Howard and he thinks that the serum boosted my metabolism. I have to eat twice as much as a normal male my age. I also can't get drunk," Cpt. Rogers said with a slight frown. I gave a small nod at what he said and quietly climbed into the back of the Jeep next to Sgt. Barnes. Once we were settled Agent Carter started driving. I sat back against the seat and looked out the window and watched the countryside pass by.
I need to go home. If I stay here I could really screw up this timeline. And what about Sgt. Barnes' "death". I can't interfere in that. Everything has to happen the way it should. All this may be a movie to me but to these guys its real. This is their lives and I really can't screw it up. I let out a small sigh at my thoughts and leaned towards the window. I closed my eyes and let the motion of the Jeep relax me and my thoughts.
"So Doll," I heard come from Sgt Barnes, making me shift and look towards him. "What can you tell us about where you come from?"
I furrowed my brows and said, "I can't tell you anything about the future if that's what your asking Sargent Barnes."
"Doll you can call me Bucky. Everyone else does, and you're a civilian. You don't need to address me by my rank. But that's not what I was asking. I want to know about your life. And about your family."
I shifted so I was facing Bucky and let out a small smile. "Well as I told ya'll I'm from Michigan originally. Most of my family still lives there, minus my parents and my older brother. My family has a farm in Michigan that my mom grew up on, and growing up my brother and I spent every summer there. Even after we moved to New York. Lizzie would end up going with us once we were teenagers. Lizzie is my closest friend, she's practically my sister. She's kind of boy crazy though," I gave a smirk and laughed. I saw that Bucky was smiling encouragingly towards me and noticed that Cpt. Rogers was turned towards me and that Agent Carter was clearly listening as well. "I like the color green and my favorite meal is Spaghetti. I can't cook very well, and I enjoy a glass of wine a little too often. I'm going to school for Nursing with the hopes of becoming a Pediatric Nurse. I'm planning on applying for the Master's program at NYU after I get my bachelors. Well I was planning, but now I don't know what's going to happen." I let myself trail off and looked out the window again.
"Doll nobody knows what's going to happen in life. Sometimes life hands you a bad situation and you just have to flow along with it," Bucky stated. He grabbed my hand and rubbed his thumb along the back of it. "Things will look up Doll. It could be worse. You could've been found by the Nazi's, or even worse Hydra." I shuddered as the thought of being captured by Hydra crossed my mind. I looked at Bucky and shook my head in the negative.
"That would be awful Bucky. Who knows what they would do to me, especially if they found out where I come from."
A dark look flashed across Bucky's face, "Doll I can promise you it wouldn't be nice. Hydra is not someone you want to mess around with. No matter what we'll make sure you stay safe. Me and the rest of the Commando's."
I gave Bucky a sad smile and said, "I know Bucky. I trust that ya'll will do your best."
Bucky got real quiet and looked at me. I looked into his eyes and saw a ton of emotions flash across his face. There was resolve, anger, pain, and something else that I couldn't identify. I quirked my head to the side in thought and realized that Bucky was still holding my hand in his. I didn't want to say anything but I cleared my throat and shifted so I was leaning away from him a little bit. He looked down at our hands and slowly released mine from his, and also shifted away a little bit. I heard a small cough come from the front seat and I saw Cpt. Rogers give a knowing smile in our direction. I could feel my cheeks warming up and knew that I was blushing. I turned my body away from Bucky and stared out the window the remainder of the ride.

Authors Note (2): Holy shit guys! Over 1700 words by the end of the chapter! I'm pretty proud of myself. Did anyone catch my Harry Potter quote I threw in there? This chapter gave me some trouble. My muse didn't want to finish it and then I got overloaded with schoolwork, but it's here!
