Metal Flower

Winry glared at Ed. This was the fourth time this week that he had come in to have his auto-mail repaired. It was beginning to annoy her. Seeing her precious auto-mail in pieces made her both angry and miserable.

"Why do you insist on ruining my precious auto-mail?"

Ed shrugged and said, "I guess I just have rotten luck when it comes to not ruining auto-mail. At least I have you to fix it."

Winry turned away from Ed and started wiping the oil off her hands and her wrench. She was about to say something when Ed spoke up.

"You look so beautiful when you're covered in oil."

Winry turned around. "What?"

"You look beautiful when you're covered in oil. You remind me of one of those flowers that don't look very beautiful when they're in a group, but on their own they are more beautiful than roses."

Winry blushed. No one had ever said that to her before. Ed had never said anything like that before. "Oh, Ed, that is so sweet." She kissed him…on the cheek. Then, smiling she walked out, leaving Ed there.

"Damn it," Ed swore softly. "The least she could have done was kiss me on the lips. It took me forever to come up with that line."

My friend, Ele, challenged me to write this so I did. Don't blame me if you don't like it.
