(A/N): Okay, so this is just going to be some place I put all my tiny ideas, my drabbles and whatnot, things that don't really have a home and will never see the light of day otherwise. No chapter will be interconnected, it's just a place to put everything that isn't part of anything properly. I own nothing as always.

Simone has to nip to Jack's, only Jack isn't the one to answer the door.

Shut up

Simone rounded the front wall and made her way up the front path with a tiny bounce in her step. She'd been on the phone to Jack, stuck on the current case they were all working, when Jack had told her to just come round to his if she was so intent on talking his ear off with theories. He'd told her everyone was home for the night anyway and his dad made a mean hot chocolate.

Ringing the doorbell, Simone glanced at the front of the house. It looked worn, but more lived in than dilapidated. It was a home that had character, that had stories to tell, but with the room to house more stories in the future. Definite potential anyway.

The door clicked and swung open, Simone's mouth falling open accidentally in shock. For instead of Jack on the doorstep, as she'd been expecting, Nikki was instead stood there on the threshold, blushing slightly and dressed in a pair of fluffy socks, leggings and one of Jack's denim shirts, rolled up several times on the sleeves. It wasn't as though she hadn't thought them an item from the very beginning of her time at the Lyell, but with the hectic events that had followed them all around since she'd started, Simone hadn't really thought she'd find Nikki wearing Jack's clothes in his house at nearly ten at night. "Hi Nikki." Simone managed to smirk at the blonde's obvious embarrassment. "Jack said to come round to talk about the case."

"I'm going to kill him." Nikki muttered, though even Simone could tell there was absolutely no heat in the words. She opened the door wider to let the ecologist in. "Come in Simone. I'll ask Conor to make another tea, unless you'd prefer coffee?"

"Coffee please." Simone didn't know if Jack's tea making skills were inherited or not, but she wasn't taking any chances. "So, you and Jack then?"

Nikki blushed even further. "Shut up."

"It's okay, you two are sweet together. Even if you both remind me of teenagers at times."

"Simone?"

"Yes Nikki?"

"Shut up."
