I remember the first time I logged in as if it was yesterday. My eyes looked confused around into virtual world, and I reached out my hand in front of me to only touch the computer set. The World looked so real. I set my hands on game control and made a few steps. I figured how to walk back, my face turned left then right. Water under the bridge sizzled softly as the river flow took it down the stream. I directed my character to the edge of the bridge, making her lean over. I always wanted to jump off a bridge. In my fantasies I dreamt of ending my life by jumping into solid water. I could finally do it.

I leaned over and let go and let the unnatural gravity pull my character down. I made a diving gesture with my hands, as I was face to face with my reflection in clear blue water. But something stopped my free fall or someone. I reached down my hand and touched the water. I stroke it. It was magical. I made a few circles. My brain already not working. I guess this must be heaven in this world. Every muscle in my body relaxed, but suddenly it tensed up. What was happening? Something was pulling me up. I was turned around, and now I stood on water. I made a few steps, and with a big slash I crashed into water.

"Hey!" I heard someone shout out. A girlish looking young boy ran toward the bridge. He was a good 15 feet away. The people seem to stop and stare at me, as the stream carried me away. The darkness fell, for the roof of the bridge covered the sun. Some awed, other gasped, yet the other portion expressed horrified look on their faces. I heard that voice again, yelling out something in strange language, then I saw ahead of me ice. The river froze, and I gently bumped into the ice. The sun was shining again. And a smiley face was looking at me. His eyes sparkling with joy. He reached out his hand down with his staff in it. I looked confused as if awakened from a dream.

"Grab onto it!" he said still smiling. I reached my hand up, and my fingers closed upon a wooden staff with strange engravings. Everything about this boy seemed strange and mystical. His eyes, his smile, his voice, his expressions. I finally smiled back at him. It felt strange smiling like that, as if there was no tomorrow. He gave out a gasp as he lost his balance and leaned dangerously over the edge. But a handful of unknown hands and grabbed him by the shoulders and helped him drag me out. I sat on the stone bridge on the other side looking into his eyes. And he smiled madly.

"You have to be careful. This might be a game, but still we tried to make it as real as possible." A tall woman in long white robe embroidered with gold said looking down on my character. The young boy stood up already and reached his hand out to her. I felt weird inside, but my charater reached out and let her fingers lock onto hi shand. Somehow I felt a weird urge, strange sensation inside her. Then my character froze, and she realized she still was in front of computer terminal, madly pressing buttons.

Then the smile was gone off my face. And I heard my voice say "What's the point of all of this! It's not as if it's real, any of this!" The three people were taken aback aroundby my words.

"I'm real," the first said silently.

"I'm real two," the other two agreed, looking at me hurt. Then they turned around and I saw them walk away. I felt a tear drop on my cheek. I stood silently, with my head down and eyes focused on myfeet. None of this was real, right?
