Rory is seething.
He wasn't there in her Mom's final moments.
He wasn't there during the funeral.
He wasn't there on all her birthdays, or school plays or PTA meetings, even when her Mom was shot numerous times throughout her career as Lieutenant.
Not even a shadow.
She hates him. Too bad she can't time travel, but she's an angel.
So she makes her way to Hell, where he's supposed to be.
And she does find him there. On his throne, looking over his domain, maybe a little bored by the way his chin is leaning on top of his clenched fist.
This is it. She can finally get that explanation for why he abandoned them. Then maybe get revenge for all those years of pain he's caused her mother.
Rory flies in front of Lucifer, suspended in front of him, wings flapping to her afloat. He takes one look at her and then past her as if she's not there.
"Huh, so you truly are an asshole," She tells him, venom dripping in her words, but he still doesn't say anything. "What? What do you have to say for yourself?! Do you even know who I am?"
"I know who you are," Lucifer responds, chin still resting on his fist. "But it's still too early for you to be here."
"What the fuck are you talking about?"
"We have done this ," He pauses and closes his eyes as if trying to keep his anger in check, "...a million times over. But I will tell you what you want to know. You asked me to abandon you and your mother because you didn't want to change. We obliged, and when it was her time to go, someone snuffed out her soul with Azrael's blade, and now I'm left with nothing. All of that for nothing."
"You liar!"
And that was the trigger for her to go back in time. To see what she was looking for.
Lucifer rests his head on his throne and silently utters a prayer to no one, "Please, get it right this time."
