The clock strikes twelve, and the door automatically unlocks. With their hands still intertwined, they exit that panic room and looks around for something that seems amiss.

Satisfied that nothing seems to be out of place, they begin to celebrate, but then a blinding light surrounds them, so bright that they are forced to close their eyes shut.

Lucifer feels Chloe's hand slipping away. He screams her name, but she doesn't hear, and when she opens her eyes, he's gone.

At the same time, Rory feels herself being pulled back.

It remained a mystery on where or who exactly took Lucifer, but perhaps she was only meant to learn how good he would've been as a father if he hadn't disappeared. And maybe why her mother couldn't tell her anything because she simply doesn't know.
