CHAPTER 16: A Bright Tomorrow

NYU Mount Sinai Hospital, Meta-humans Wing.

"So that's it?", asks a startled Jimmy. "The bad guys get sent off to some random max security prison and no one gets to know who he really is?" "Yep", replies Lois. "Sometimes it's just that easy, especially with guys like him", she says while tapping his chest. "Granted, he's still sleepy from two days ago, but I think he should be fine. He's gone to sleep for longer periods of time." "Like that one time he supposedly went to Hawaii?" "Perhaps", Lois sheepishly replies.

"M-mm-Where am I?", groggily asks an exhausted Clark. "CLARK!", Jimmy and Lois both shout in glee. "Baby, how are ya feeling right now?" "W-why am I wearing my suit still? Why is Jimmy here?" "You've been asleep for a while now, and Jimmy knows. He's a good kid, he won't tell anyone", replies Lois. "I promised to her and to the Batman. Dude's a thousand times scarier in real life", chuckles Jimmy. "He can be quite an intimidating man, especially when it comes to his friends", Clark replies while hugging the two. "At least you two are safe and sound."

"We're good, but I can't feel my arms. Or my chest. Or anything, really. Let me go please you got your super strength back", wheezes Jimmy. "Sorry, Jimmy. I'll be more careful with—"

Suddenly, a loud boom coming from Midtown Metropolis filled the room. "That's no bird", states Jimmy. "And hopefully not a plane", jokes Lois. "Nope. Sounds like a job for Superman!" A booming blur of red and blue flies out of the hospital window.
