"Gwen, how nice to see you and your child begging for your lives!"
A woman dressed in fine clothes looked up with tears in her eyes, she was heavily pregnant, and a crown sat on her head. Her dark skin was pale, and her hands are tied behind her back. She was kneeling as best she could. Dust covering her dress.
The room is spacious but there is dust everywhere showing that is hasn't been used for a very long time. At the front of the room there is a huge throne in with a pale tall and slender lady dressed in expensive clothing staring coldly down at the lady on the floor.
"It brings me immense joy to know that right now Arthur is without his beloved Guinevere and your child the heir to the throne." Then then proceeds to laugh coldly at Guinevere. She stares at her coldly smirking because she feels that she has won.
The world starts to grow dim and the voices sound like they are coming from underwater. The world starts to twist and turn, and everything turns dark.
My limbs feel heavy and my eyes refuse to open. I am laying down on the ground and something heavy covers my body. I hear some chatter in the background, but I can't make anything out. I can't feel any rain falling on me, but my hair feels the same fizzy that it did before.
"She is starting to wake up." A voice sounds from nearby. Its male by its low tone. My limbs are starting to feel less heavy right now. I try opening my eyes once more, but they still refused to move. I wait a little longer in silence because no one says anything. I could feel my eyes becoming less heavy and I open them. I am greeted by a tent above me. That would explain the lack of rain.
"Before you freak out, we aren't here to hurt you, you fainted so we are trying to help." A voice off to the side says.
I turn my head to the sound to see the king standing at the opening of the tent. Next to him is Emerys who looks at me worriedly. I want to tell him that this is normal after I've had a vision but then the king would know about my powers. I sat up suddenly and backed up as far away as possible.
"relax we just want to talk" The king continues.
I look at him with wide eyes then turn to Emerys and try again to communicate mind to mind. Emery's what is going on? Emerys just looks at me confused then a voice enters my head, and I can tell it is from Emerys
We just want to talk relax, don't call me Emerys my name is Merlin.
"My name is King Arthur of Camelot, I am trying to stop the prejudice against magic, I want to talk to the druids and ask for their forgiveness and help."
I was dumfounded. Why would the king, the son of the man who hunted us almost to extinction, want to help us? I didn't say anything, but my silence spoke volumes. I staired at them with fear but defiance in my eyes. I would not bow down to this king, even if he had Emerys on his side.
"Druid girl, I'm sorry I don't know your name," Emerys starts "We want peace but to do that we need the Druids help." That did sound like Emerys to want peace and to help people. But working with the king was confusing.
Adrastea, I'm coming with help hold on! I heard Faolan say using mind speech. I stood shocked, not moving. What was I supposed to do try and escape stay here like a good prisoner? I made my choice by rolling underneath the tent in the back. Luckily the tent wasn't staked down it was just a quick shelter in the rain. I stood up to see that a fire was going, and knights were all around it. Some were walking perimeter. Some of them spotted me, pulled out their swords and started walking towards me.
Faolan HELP! I projected my thoughts outward to the forest and started running. I could hear people shouting behind me, probably the king. The knights immediately go tried to catch me luck was on my side and I manage to doge them. I looked into the trees to try and spot any druids. I didn't see any of my friends. I ran harder because as good at running as I am the men are taller than me and could run longer. I reach the tree line somehow without getting caught. Not stopping I run into the trees and doge and weave around them to try and throw off my pursuers. I glance behind me and don't see anyone; I must have lost them. I slow down and try to catch my breath.
Adrastea, where are you? I heard in my head, I managed to run off, where are you? I responded. I didn't get an answer instead I felt someone grab me from behind and yell
"I'm so glad you're ok!"
"SSHHH" I said quickly "We don't want to be found again"
Faolan nodded then grabbed my arm and pulled me farther into the forest. He let go of my arm quickly so I could move through the forest better. We walked only a short distance when I saw some of the Elder Druids in a circle talking, the rest of my people were gone. I was confused why would they be there they should be off with the rest of the Druids.
"Faolan what is going on?" I asked him
"You're the seer we couldn't just leave you there, not to mention with Emerys there the elders want to find out what is going on."
I nodded and walked up to the elders. They are talking about Emerys and why he was with the king. I waited until there was a brake in the conversation when I tapped on one of the elder's arms.
"Adrastea!" She exclaimed "I'm so glad you're ok, we were very worried when Faolan came running and told us the news."
"Did they do anything to you?" A male Elder said
"No, the strange thing was that they said they just wanted to talk and ask for our help, I didn't get threatened at all" I responded
"Strange," A female elder said "We should hide from then we don't know what ill will they want to inflict."
I nodded, thinking back to when I had my vison. I should probably tell them what I saw. As I was the seer it is very important for me to tell the Elders about all my visions. I didn't want to say anything out loud, so I used my mind voice to talk to the female Elder.
I had a vision while I was there, it was about the king's wife and their unborn child. They were being attacked by a woman named Morgana.
I don't know where the name Morgana had come from, but it just appeared in my mind. She looked shocked from my revelation and immediately turned to the other elders and started talking though mind speech. I turned and looked at Faolan and he gave me a questioning look.
"I had a vision they must be talking about it." I said answering his unheard question.
"What was the vision about?"
"The king's wife and their unborn child were being attacked by Morgana."
He looked at me and nodded his understanding, we both stayed silent after that not wanting to distract the elders in their conversation. After waiting for a few minutes, I started to get nervous where were the Knights, why hadn't they come after us yet?
"Faolan, Adrastea, we are going to talk to the king and Emerys to find out what they want. I want both of you to head North to the safe haven by the oaks." One of the male Elders said
What? I was confused why would they go and talk to the king, Emerys I understood but if he was with the king, they could all be executed and die. I couldn't let that happen we need the Elders to help us they can't just go and ask for a death sentence.
"If you're going, I'm going with you." I said, "We need the elders more than we need a seer."
"Adrastea how can you say that?" The female elder said, I really need to learn their names. "We can't risk your life; we just want to see what Emerys wants."
I staired at them disbelief all over my face, I wasn't more important than the elders! I looked towards Faolan he was looking at the ground and wouldn't meet my eyes. He thought I should go back as well! If they thought I would do that they had another thing coming for them.
"Look I know it was my vision that led you guys to decide to see what is going on. I deserve to be there so if they have questions, I can answer them directly without all the confusion of going back and forth."
"No, you are the seer not to mention you are still in training you will go back with Faolan. This is non-negotiable I will use my magic if you force me to."
I sighed in defeat, she would make me fall asleep then carry me to the camp which would mean more work for Faolan and the others. I nodded and started walking through the forest to the north. I heard some people follow me and some quiet talking. I didn't even try to hear what they were talking about; I was annoyed at all of them.
"Adrastea," Faolan said quietly. I didn't say anything just waited for him to continue. "You are more important than you think, please don't be mad we are just trying to keep you safe."
I snorted just because I could see visions about time doesn't mean that my life was worth more than any other druid with powers. We walked in silence the rest of the time. We passed a stream, and lots of trees. The rain was starting to let up, but it had done its damage to my hair by fizzing it up. While we walked, I tried to get it under control.
We reached a tall stone that was in the way of which we were walking. We had reached our destination. I could feel the magic coming from the place were other druids had put up wards. Faolan stepped forward and touched the boulder. An outline of a door showed, and he walked through the bolder as if it was water. I followed after the strange sensation of magic flowing through my body. My vision darkened then got brighter as if I had stepped through a tunnel.
I was meet with a clearing of tents, fires, people mingling around and a tense atmosphere. I walked over to the tent that I shared with my family. It was big for a tent and had colorful fall colors decorating it. My mother was sitting on a stool patching up some clothes and weaving magic into them at the same time. I always envied my mom that she could do that so easily. My magic was unpredictable I had just barely learn mind speech.
"Adea, your back I was so worried!" My mother said when she saw me coming towards her. She stood up and went to make sure that I was alright. My father must have heard my mother and came out of the tent as well and started fawning over me.
"Mother Father, everything is fine I'm not hurt" I said trying to stop them worrying about me.
"Why did you stay back, you could have gotten hurt!" my mother said
Switching from scared I'm hurt too angry at me for disobeying her.
"What were you thinking! You were the one that had the vision in the first place and told us we needed to move because the knights of Camelot were coming. But instead, you run towards them and almost get killed!"
I stopped listening when she started ranting. I looked at my father who was looking apologetic but was agreeing with mother. I was in trouble now I saw my sibling's heads poke out of the tent flap. They looked slightly worried but mostly smirking at me because I got in trouble.
"Adrastea are you listening to me!" My mother shouted at me
"Yes" I said immediately
"What did I just say?"
"I'm in trouble for not listening and I was being irrational?"
"No, I was talking about your punishment."
"I love you please don't punish me to hard." I said trying to not get in any more trouble.
"Honey lets go calm down and talk about this later." my Father said stepping in "Adrastea won't do anything while you're calming down."
I nodded my thanks, and he gave me a look that said I better wait here until they got back. They walked off and my sibling ran out of the tent and came over and started talking to me all at once. My two older sisters looked at me with worry written in their eyes.
"Everyone quiet please!" Kilian, the oldest sister, said. "Adra you are going into the tent then explaining what happened."
I sighed and nodded no point in them hearing it from anyone other than me.
Druids we have a problem meet in the center of the village it has to do with Camelot.
I was shocked to hear that. I could tell that my siblings all hear it as well. We all started walking towards the center of our makeshift village after the shock wore off. We passed other druids that's expressions matched ours. We reached the center of the village where a fire pit was located. Everyone gathered around it none of us talking just waiting for an Elder to tell us what is going on.
"We know that we have been scared our whole lives and have ran at the first sign of trouble. The Elders are hoping to change that fact, King Arthur of Camelot wants to have peace with magic users like the druids." Ogma the head Elder said
Small chatter broke out all over, most carried a note of panic in it. The elders started saying other words, but I wasn't listening. My magic was acting up and pulling me away from the crowd. The world seemed to fade away and all I knew was that I had to follow whatever was calling me. I reached the edge of the druid's encampment but kept walking straight through the magical barrier. A small voice in my head was yelling at me to go back and not follow my magic but it was easily overruled by my magic. I kept walking until I found myself in a cave.
