I felt as if I was floating in midnight dark waters. I couldn't see anything nor feel any part of my body. My mind would wander but I couldn't seem to think about any one specific thing for more than a couple minutes. Soon I felt the light to start to change. My limbs didn't feel so heavy and I could start to hear sounds. I couldn't understand what they were saying but I could hear the sounds. My eyes felt heavy, but I could feel that with some strength I could open them, so that what I did.
Blinding light hit my eyes and I shut them immediately. Slowly opening I saw that Faolan was looking at me with concern written in his eyes. I looked around best I could without moving my head. I was in some room that held plants, and jars filled with strange liquid that I couldn't identify. There was some background talking but I couldn't distingue what was being said.
"What" I felt weak and had to stop to breath. "Happened?"
"I'm not exactly sure you got really sick and Gaius the court healer help fix you up."
I didn't say anything too tired to respond. I closed my eyes and hear some commotion near me but payed it no mind. I felt someone get off the bed, but I had no more strength to even look. I felt a lot better just very tired and drained of energy. I fell into a deep slumber. Later when I awoke, I was feeling much better and less tired. When I opened my eyes, I was met with an empty room. I sat up and didn't feel like I was going to die.
I was in the same room that I woke up in last time. There was a table with a chemistry looking set on it. I looked down and I was wearing my normal sleep clothes. I heard a door open, and I looked up to see an old man with white hair down to his shoulder. One eyebrow was raised in a permeant position, so he looks like he is always questioning you. When he saw me, his eyes widened, and he hurried over.
"Don't get out of bed your still very weak." He says and pushes me so I'm laying down again.
"I feel fine don't worry." I say and try to sit up again. I get pushed back down again.
"You almost died you are clearly not fine!" He spoke
"What?"
"I'm the court physician, and you almost died yesterday due to some reason which I'm still finding out."
"So, I almost died." I sighed "Not a great way to start this trip off huh."
"Just sit still while I quickly look you over to make sure there aren't any lasting effects." I do as he said and soon enough, he said that I was mostly ok, but I would feel more tired than normal.
"So, do you know what poisoned me?"
"Not exactly but it was close to another poison so I could get it out of your system before it could kill you."
"Thats good, do you know where Faolan is?" I ask
"Somewhere with the king and Merlin."
"Ok." I sigh then said, "Can I go find them or am I trapped here for the time being?"
"You aren't trapped but I suggest that you stay here for a little while longer. Merlin and the others will be here soon to check on you."
I nodded and didn't say anything but stayed on the bed. Gaius when around the room doing various tasks but didn't really try to talk to me. It was a comfortable quiet. I was getting bored though with not talking and nothing to do.
Soon enough I heard people talking and opening the door. I saw Faolan come in first and he ran over to me yelling some words which I assume where questions if I was alright. I nodded to his questions though I didn't understand him.
"Boy what are you doing trying to give this old man a heart attack with all the sound you are making?" Gaius says stepping in stopping the flow of words from Faolan.
"Adrastea," Merlin says "I'm glad you're doing better. I'm very sorry that this happened to you."
"Its fine" I respond but before I could add anything else Faolan opens his big mouth.
"It's not fine! You almost died!"
"But I didn't I'm fine Faolan"
"You, Almost, DIED!" He said slowing each word as if I was a child
"But I didn't and I'm fine. Alive and Kicking and if you say another thing about how big a deal this is I will show you how well I am doing."
Wisely he keeps quiet. Good he does have some sense in him. I turn to the others who came into the room consisting of Merlin, Aruther, and Gwen. They all looked surprised at my outburst but kept quiet. I smiled to them and waved at them.
"Adrastea I'm so glad you're doing so well." Gwen says to me breaking the silence.
"Thanks, I feel much better. Good enough to leave?" I finish and turn to Gaius looking hopefully at him. He sighs and nods at me probably, so I don't interrupt his work anymore.
"Cool, cool, cool. Quick question where are some clothes I can change into so I can go." I say and stand up. Feeling only slightly lightheaded. I look around for my stuff and anything to change into.
"Over there" Gaius says pointing to a table that has some clothes. I walk over and grab a shirt and pants to wear. After changing into them I'm ready to go do stuff.
"So, what are we planning on doing today?" I ask five people in the room
"Well, I was hoping to go to the forest" Faolan says
"Sounds good, I also need to give you some books Adrastea." Merlin says then walks around the room collecting random books. He comes back and hands a stack to me.
"These are all beginner books for starting magic, studying plants, animals, different forces of magic and more." I nodded along not really understanding why I needed these books, but I wasn't going to argue if he said read them, I would read them.
"Cool, so about going to the forest?"
"We will stop by your room to drop the books off then we will go." Merlin said
I nodded and we set off. My room was the same one I passed out in last time. Nothing had really changed but the widow was open. Dropping off the books we headed outside the castle. Arthur and Gwen had to go do some stuff for the kingdom, so it was just Faolan, Merlin, and me. I was once again wearing my druid clock, so I got strange looks from people and even some being rude towards me but soon enough we reached the forest. Faolan and I both ran a head into the forest where Faolan could call his pack to come talk.
Once Faolan deemed it far enough from the Castel he used his magic to call the wolves. I'm not exactly sure how he did it because his magic is different from mine. Merlin soon caught up with both of us when Faolan and I both sat on the ground.
"Wow you guys are faster than you look" He says as he is panting at me.
"Well, we did spend most of our life running around" I say
"Yeah, sorry about that"
"Wasn't you" Faolan answers for me
Soon we hear some barks and yips. The pack is close and soon enough they come into view. Faolan and I don't move but smile as they surround us saying hi. Merlin goes pale and stands up and backs away quickly. The wolves notice him but didn't do anything until he started backing away. They growled and formed a circle around Faolan and I.
"Merlin don't worry they are Faolan and I's friends" I say to him as Faolan starts talking with the pack. Soon enough the wolves stop growling and look at him curiously. Merlin slowly walks over and lets the wolves smell and examine him. Soon Merlin was sitting next to us as we hung out around the overgrown puppies.
"Faolan did you bring some writing stuff?" I asked him
"Don't I always"
"True"
"Why do you need writing stuff?" Merlin asked
"So we can write a message then the wolves will go to the Druids and get our message."
"Wow that is cool" Merlin says
"Meh sometimes things happen to stop the message so it's not the most reliable, but it works"
After that the conversation drifted away from wolves and druids down a strange rabbit hole. We kept jumping from topic to topic until we ended up talking about water.
