AKAGI RESIDENCE
A frightened yell was heard from a room, quickly followed by the sound of footsteps.
A now 4 year old Shinji Akagi, sat straight up in his bed, tears in his eyes. A frazzled and panicked Naoko rushed in to check on him.
"Shinji, what's wrong?!" She said, still in her nightgown.
"Mama!" he cried out. Tears falling from his face. She slowly moved towards him and brought him into a gentle embrace.
"Shhhhhh." She said, rubbing a circular motion on his back. "It's ok, Mama's here."
Shinji continued to cry, slowly degrading to soft whimpers. He continued to shiver, the thought of the nightmare still in his mind..
"What happened, Shinji?" said Naoko. He looked up at her and let out a pained sob.
"Papa hates me. He thinks I'm why mama is dead."
His words tugged at her heart. . Shinji continued to blame himself for his father leaving him.
Naoko stroked his tear-ridden cheek. "Shinji, It's not your fault. He… Can't take care of you, because he isn't a good person. He is too weak to take care of you." She said.
He kept sobbingas Naoko held him, trying to calm him down. She tried patting him on the back as she held him, but he kept crying. "Shhh, it's ok Shinji. I'm here for you, I'm not leaving you." He seemed to soften a bit but the tears continued.
Naoko felt at a loss, so she kept holding him and telling him everything will be alright. Shinji eventually got calmer and calmer, until he fell asleep. Naoko tried to get up and put him back down, but was unable to without waking him up. She eventually gave up and layed down with him. As she also soon began to fall asleep, she noticed a small smile on Shinji's face, which made one spread across her own face..
"This is my son. A son that I care about. I may not have been there as much for Ritsuko, but I can at least be there for him."
She soon fell asleep with the son she cared about, resting on her chest.
This will be the shortest chapter Ill ever do for this story. Then again the shortest chapters are Memory Adresses. Each one will build a bigger and bigger picture of a puzzle.
