Emile reached the ONI Facility and landed on the landing pad. He got up and started to walk to the door. Two ONI Spartans were waiting right outside the landing pad to see who it was as it was an old pelican. Emile started to open the door. The two ONI spartans moved closer as they wanted to greet their new guests.
"Hey I am Emile-A239 reporting as Reach has fallen." Emile said calmly as he waved at them. The first spartan was wearing the newest armor which is the Mark Vll, with the Trailblazer helmet. The second Spartan was wearing YOROI armor, with a Yokai helmet. This was all new to Emile as he was somewhat confused.
The two spartans looked at each other and nodded. The first Spartan took a step forward and looked at him. " Emile it's been.. How am I supposed to say it?" The second spartan took a step forward.
"It's been over 8 years since Reach!" Emile was now in shock as he looked back down at his hands.
"Akari look what you fucken did!" The first spartan said as he punched her in the shoulder. She didn't look fazed by the punch. "Well how else was I supposed to say it Jambu!" Akari said as she punched him right back. Emile was starting to compose himself.
"I was asleep for 8 years. How did I even survive that long? Is Humanity still at war with the Covenant?" Emile thoughts were going wild with questions. Jambu started to snap his fingers in front of his Skull Visor.
"Hey Emile, I know you are in shock. Forgive my partner as she is a new member of ONI." Jambu paused and then gestured to Akari to step back.
Akari nodded and took a step back. Emile snapped out of his trace. "What happened over the last 8 years?" That is all Emile could say as he was so confused and lost.
"Emile, I am sorry but we should head Inside the outpost." Jambu stated in the most calm voice he could muster up. Jambu was surprised that this was happening and simply waved out to both Emile and Akari to follow him.
Emile followed them into what he thought was a facility but things must have changed. Things just are different now when he thinks about it. He started to think back to those two Elites he killed. "They did not fight back nor did they try. How often do they allow their females into the line of fire?" Emile snapped back to reality as he looked to see ONI soldiers were watching them. Akari and Jambu were not fazed by this.
Jambu and Akari walked into a private room then gestured to Emile to come in. "Emile like I said before, it's been 8 years since Reach." Jambu pulled out a tablet from one of the filing cabinets. Akari sat down on one of the chairs.
"Well let's just start off with what happened to the Covenant?" Emile asked as he sat in the chair on the opposite side of the room. Jambu sat down next to Akari and opened the tablet.
"The Covenant isn't that much of a threat anymore since the Sanghelios revolution against them." Jambu said then started typing something into the tablet. Emile was not expecting the sangheili to start a revolution.
"Why would they even do such a thing. There just a bunch of murderers savages." Emile stated with a cold tone in his voice. Akari looked like she had something to say based on her body movement but was quickly silenced by Jambu putting a hand on her shoulder.
"Well you are Emile-A239 from the Noble team. ONI and the UNSC thought you were dead along with Noble One, Noble Two, Noble Five, and Noble Six." Jambu said, looking at him, studying him as he waited for a reaction. Emile's body froze as he started to think.
"How did Six die?" Emile said shocked as he was Gathering his thoughts on what had happened to him. Jambu simply looked at Emile then started to speak.
"Six died fighting off around 200 sangheili elites before Six eventually died." Jambu said calmly. Akari nodded and started to examine Emile. Akari realized that he had an energy sword that she recognized.
"Well Six you definitely went out like a lone wolf but I hope you found peace in your final moments.." Emile thought in silence as he thought of what to ask next. Akari wondered how he got the sword but figured that she should wait to ask him about it later.
"What happened to Noble Three?" Emile asked a little worried about his old friend Jun. Jambu looked at him then Answer his questions
"Well Emile after the battle of Reach he started to train the spartans in the new spartan Four program." Emile started to think back to Memory, when they both Spard back on reach before everything went to hell. Emile remembers always winning until the seventh match as Jun managed to trip him over at the last second. "That was a good memory." Emile thought to himself as he then looked back at Jambu and Akari.
"Well where is Jun now?" Emile asked as Jun was really the only one left of his past life. Emile started to wonder how he survived for eight years but seems to forget every time he thinks too deeply into it. Emile shrugged it off as it didn't seem too important anyway.
"Well Jun retired on earth Two years ago. He is living a comfortable life right now. Now that I've told you that I need to ask you some questions as to where you've been for the last eight years Emile?" Jambu asked, seemingly pulling out his knife. Akari laid back in her chair as she knew exactly where this was going.
"Well I was dead on Reach for eight years or asleep. I really don't remember how or why it happened." Emile stated clearly as he knew what kind of tactics Jambu was trying to use.
"Well, do you really expect me to believe that Emile?" Jambu asked calmly as he put his knife away. Emile needed to somehow convince him that he was telling the truth. Then he thought of something.
"Well why would I come back on an old pelican, why would I come to an outpost instead of a facility, or why my armor is messed up." Emile said calmly as he pulled out his DMR to place on the table.
Jambu looked at it and took a long pause to think. " Well he is Ethier telling the truth or he is a good liar." Jambu thought as he then looked at him again. "Well Emile looks like you're off the hook with me as I think you are telling me the truth about this."
Emile sigh in relief as he then stands up. "Well I need to find out how I survived for eight years." Emile started to think about what happened then he started to forget slowly this time. Emile remembers Orange lights as he sees a robot eyeball. Then his memory fated away.
"Well we still need to tell you what has happened in the last eight years as you probably don't know anything." Akari stated as she started to sit up straight. Jambu nodded his head in agreement as he could get more information this way.
"Well Arbiter Thel 'Vadam and Fleet Admiral Terrence Hood shaked hands on November 3rd, 2552. This is known as the Treaty of 2552. This treaty marked the end of the Human-Covenant War. Sangheili Elite are now humanity friends Basically." Akari said somewhat happily but Emile could not really tell. Emile did not like the idea of going to peace with the sangheili.
"There is also the problem with the Banished as they are the newest problem on ONI list of things to worry about." Jambu stated as he seemed to not like Brutes. Emile assumed that it was another alien faction that he did not know about.
"What are the Banished to be exact?" Emile asked somewhat confused about who they were. Jambu started to think about why they were called the Banished. It started to come back to Jambu slowly but Akari started to examine before he could.
"Well the Banished are a group of Burts that rebelled against the Covenant during the Human-Covenant War. The Covenant could not stop them at the height of their power. The Covenant now are basically a fraction of what they were 8 years ago." Akari explained to the best of her ability. Jambu was really impressed with her memory of the Banished.
"Well that is a lot to take in." Emile said shocked that the Covenant was now a fraction of what it once was. The Brutes formed their own faction and were now one of the biggest threats to humanity.
"Well maybe that is enough information for today as it seems you had a long day. Akari, can you please take him to the guest room." Jambu said calmly as he stood up. Emile seemed to agree as he was overwhelmed with information.
"Yeah I can take Emile to the guest room." Akari said calmly as she gestured to Emile to follow her to the guest room. Emile started to follow her to the guest room. Once got into the guest room he just sat on the bed.
Hey you guys I am still new to writing and I am just trying to learn. Please let me know what you think of the story. Should I keep chapter short or should I make it longer? Thanks for the feedback on this chapter. I think I fixed most of the problems with it.
