To Second Lieutenant Kazuchi Hirosama today was like any other day, get dressed, brush your teeth, eat breakfast made by your beautiful wife, then head to the Metropolitan Police station via train, most just wait around all day for a report like an unstoppable criminals who were in a tank rampaging the city, and as such we'll be called in.
That's what's supposed to happen but I was suddenly transferred to another department called the Anti-Supernatural force.
I went to where I was told to go and as such, was taught how to fight a Supernatural, as such I wouldn't be able to fight with my normal equipment but it works the same, all I was told was not to shoot your squad mates.
Understandable as fixing bullet wounds isn't exactly great, but then they completely incinerated the target which was inorganic mind you. Which brought the whole don't shoot at your squad mates to another level unless you want them deleted by god himself, and as such I requested a standard issue type 89 along with the rifle for the Anti-Supernatural department.
They happily accepted the request and gave me the type 89, and then I was on my first assignment which was at an office building with the words Hololive slapped on the wall on the second story of the 4 story building.
They told me to keep note of the most minor things like if you hear screaming take note of it and don't investigate, if a window is broken by a giant laser beam don't worry about it someone else will handle it.
If zombies come out the front door don't shoot them, just bring out the grenade named anti-zombie gas and throw it at the target like a normal tear gas grenade and you'll be fine along with Target going back to a normal human.
They seriously thought about everything. The one that made me panic the most was if the building explodes, don't do anything about it and just note it down and the proper officials will do their job.
"Well what if the people I'm monitoring get killed in the explosion?!" I asked my superior back then.
He responded with "Nine times out of ten they started the explosion so they'll be fine. They can survive just about anything you know." He answered my question.
Not only that I can't tell anybody who I'm working for except answer with the Metropolitan Police, and tell them I'm just on watch after numerous noise complaints which don't exist.
So after that I soon arrived at my assigned area around 10:00 hours around the time when a group of girls arrived. All of them seemingly had non-human features, most notably animal ears and tails like they're from some fantasy game or anime.
We were told not to interact with them at all unless they start the conversation and as such started the daily annoyance of talking to the same people everyday.
Around 1 month later one of the girls had noticed us or they were aware of us and decided to come up to us, she had silver hair, a fucking floating star over her head like it was a halo or something, and wore what seemed to be some sort of uniform. She also had Angel fucking wings along with an armband like those kids we see pass by us everyday around 3 PM.
"I… uh… I am… uh." She stumbles over her words while trying to speak. We all stood silent silently waiting for her to say what she was planning on saying.
She then finally stopped stuttering and was finally able to say something.
"I think you look cool!" Said the girl, and then ran to the other girls as they entered the office. It was clear they were arguing over the entire ordeal inside the building going off of their body language through the window but I wasn't sure, but my squad and I just stood there.
Hours later a massive laser beam that was yellow suddenly fired out of the window over the city luckily the city wasn't wiped out, but it seemed the JSDF and Metropolitan Police wasn't happy about that and came in large numbers with Tanks, APCs, attack helicopters surrounding the entire office and blocking off the road.
"So the brass was right about the laser beams getting fired out the window." Said my private.
"Yep." I responded. I could tell everybody in the building was being escorted out because of this ordeal.
I could easily tell that the girls were trying to defend themselves in hopes they wouldn't get shot.
Overall it was a massive panic by the Japanese Government and military.
