COMMANDER'S OFFICE

Gendo sat at his desk alone, contemplating endless thoughts passing through his mind. He keeps thinking about what happened the night before.

"I can't keep going. This is all a lie. He still hates me."

His mind still taunts him with thoughts of betrayal. He placed his head in his hands. A sigh escaped his mouth.

"He hates me."

"He hates me…"

His hands quickly reached for the bottom drawer of his desk and opened it.

A lone pistol and magazine sat in the drawer

"He hates me."

"He is all I have left and he hates me."

Thousands upon thousands of thoughts raced through his mind. Thousands of scenarios to which he had no control over. Thousands of scenarios to which he was hated. Thousands of scenarios of which he loses everything again.

"He hates me."

"He hates me."

"He hates me."

"He hates me."

. . .

"What if he doesn't?..."

Yesterday's memories flooded his mind as he remembered a small smile on Shinji's face.

He sighed and closed the drawer, Cursing himself for allowing him to lose control again.

"I need a drink…"

MATERNAL PROGRAMMING

EPISODE 11

"Pensees Intimes"

NEXT DAY

1:12 PM

TOKYO-III FIRST MUNICIPAL SCHOOL

TEACHER'S LOUNGE

"I'm sorry to call you from work Mrs Akagi, but Shinji here… Got into an altercation with another student regarding some snide comments being made to him."

The old teacher sighed and simply gestured to Shinji, who had some bruises on him. Naoko crossed her arms and looked at Shinji expectingly.

"Well? I expect an answer."

She said, clearly annoyed. Shinji's eyes kept his gaze anywhere but her's. He was rather ashamed.

". . ."

"Well?..."

"He said that I was only made an EVA pilot because of you, and called you a bitch for doing so…"

. . .

"That's it? You got in a fight over that?!"

. . .

"Yes…"

Naoko pinched the bridge of her nose and sighed. Shinji raised his hand to speak but was cut off.

"No, I really don't want to hear it. What's his punishment?"

The teacher shuffled some papers and shifted his glasses.

"Well this isn't the first time he got in a fight… We don't usually do this, but I'm afraid he needs to be sent home for a few days.."

Naoko's eyebrow twitched.

"Mom I-"

"No, I don't want to hear it. We are leaving now."

The old teacher held his tongue as the clearly angry women marched out of the lounge with the boy in tow.

Students stopped and stared as the two walked out of the school and into the parking lot.

They entered the car and buckled up.

Naoko sat there, hands on the steering wheel. She took a deep breath, trying to calm herself down.

This definitely wasn't the first time, and probably won't be the last. Every fight he gets in somehow deals with her or the mention of mothers.

It's almost like an obsession.

She turned on the car and made her way out of the parking lot.

The car ride was initially silent. No one dared to make a noise.

Shinji kept his eyes fixed on his shoes, not wanting to look up.

"You know what your punishment is, right? No games, no friends over. No texting for more than 30 minutes.

For 3 days. This shouldn't have happened again, but it did."

Shinji barely nodded.

The rest of the car ride home was quiet.

AKAGI HOUSEHOLD ?

: MM?

"You've done enough damage young man."

Naoko Akagi stood at the foot of the bed with an angry look on her face. Her words are full of venom.

"I-I didn't mean to! I'm sorry!"

Shinji said, cowering on the bed in a begging position.

"I don't care. I don't love you. You are nothing but a pest. Constantly interrupting my work!"

The room they were in suddenly went dark and he was no longer sitting on a bed. He was surrounded by the people he knew and loved.

"You're nothing but a nuisance. I wish you would stop calling me!"

"Asuka?"

"You always were a weirdo, ever since we met, you were clinging to her leg like a parasite."

"Rei?"

"You are so annoying, always intruding on what I want. You never leave me alone."

"Ritsuko?"

"You really are pitiful. The only reason we're friends with you is because of your Eva pilot status."

"Toji? Kensuke?"

"I want you out of my sight, you worthless child. I have no use for you."

"Father?"

"You should die with me…"

"Ms Yui?.."

"Just go away, Shinji. I don't want you anymore."

"Mother?..."

"Just die already."

REALITY

3:54 AM

"AAAHHHH!"

Shinji jolted up, and quickly looked around. His breath was heavy and ragged.

He was in his room.

Several footsteps could be heard rushing in the hallways towards his room.

The door bursts open with Ritsuko holding a pistol and Naoko holding a baseball bat.

"Who picked the wrong house?!"

"Who do we need to shoot?!"

The two women saw no threat and instead focused themselves onto Shinji, who was balled up and crying.

Ritsuko turned the safety back on and lowered the pistol, with Naoko lowering the bat.

Shinji began muttering something under his breath.

"Shinji?"

He barely raised his head as Ritsuko stepped forward towards him, placing the pistol on the drawers and taking a seat on his bed.

Naoko followed suit standing next to him and placing a hand on his shoulder.

"Did you have a nightmare Shinji?"

He nodded slowly.

. . .

"What.. was it about?"

. . .

"Don't leave me."

. . .

"We promise we won't leave you."

REFURBISHED EVANGELION CAGE

JET ALONE READY CAGE

"Ms Akagi it's good to see you again. I do hope that this investment is a worthwhile one for you and NERV."

Shiro said, leaning on the railing.

Naoko yawned and gave a weak smile. She admired Shiro's initiative to oversee the cage fitting himself, but he was a bit too eager for her tired mind. She had to deal with a crying fourteen year old at three in the morning.

"Jet Alone really did impress me at the demonstration. It really does seem capable of quick repairs and easy deployment."

"Well, that is one of its major design philosophies. Easy modifications and rapid deployment."

A technician came up and began to ask Shiro some questions.

"I'll be back soon Ms Akagi. I have to deal with some things."

And with that he left with the technician, leaving Naoko alone with her thoughts.

Something is very off with Shinji. He is obsessed with her. Anytime someone makes a slight joke about her, he gets all snappy and defensive.

Then one thing popped into her mind. An old and possibly outdated theory came to mind.

"No… He is well beyond that age…"

"Could he?..."

Sorry for the short chapter today, I was having trouble writing this one. And a lot of things were going on in my life. Some things that may have influenced this chapter. Also, If I don't post any chapters for a while, I'm ok, just dealing with some stuff.

One last thing:

No, I won't do Genderbending.

You know who you are.
