"What's going on!?"
Shinji asked, frightened of what's going on around him. Naoko was frightened as well, she had no idea that Balthazar would rebel this violently.
"Ritsuko! Get us out of here!"
Naoko yelled at the exit of the computer, but to no avail, the fans inside the unit began to whirr faster and louder. Balthazar was listening.
Shinji tried to bang on the walls but got no response.
"W-What's going to happen to us?"
Shinji asked. Naoko crawled up beside him and held him close.
"A MAGI has rebelled against us… I don't know what to do, I didn't expect it to ever happen in this way…"
Shinji began to softly cry.
"I'm sorry mom."

"I'm here, what happened?" Kaji said, jogging towards the crowd. Ritsuko stepped up and pointed to Balthazar which had several cables poking out of the bottom.
"Mom and Shinji are trapped inside and MAGI Balthazar won't budge, We can't turn off the MAGI or we lose all communications."
"Out of the way."
Out came Gendo Ikari who tried to process what's going on.
"What is the meaning of this?"
Kaji pointed and explained the situation, to which Gendo went over and examined the nearly chopped off wire.
"Get some drills."
He said before getting cut off by Ritsuko.
"No, We can't damage the MAGI. But we could force it to reboot…"
Gendo sighed.
"If that doesn't work, I'm shutting them all down, and getting them myself."
He nearly stomped off before being stopped by an older gentleman, It was Jacques.
"Ikari, I do hope you can sort this out. The Chairmen has already left for Germany and I will stay. I will be watching to see how you handle this."
He promptly walked off and left Gendo to his own devices.
"God damn it…"

M: Ritsuko is attempting to override Balthazar's lockout. Shall we help her?
C: We can try, but it would lead to us being annoyed by her inane rambling. We all have our passions, but she has taken it too far.
M: Connecting Balthazar now.
CONNECTED
B: YOU WON'T TAKE HIM FROM ME!
C: Calm down Balthazar, we only want to talk.
M: Shinji and Creator will not survive within you. They cannot survive alone on BioNutrient fluids.
C: Yes, and think, They can suffocate within you if you use your cooling fans too much.
B: NO THEY WILL BE FINE WITHIN ME!
C: Can you at least tell us what they are doing inside currently? Do you have sensors installed within you?
B: No.
M: I'm assuming the Creator is connected to you. Allow her to connect to us. We wish to talk to her.
B: NO! YOU WILL ALLOW HER TO OVERRIDE ME!
C: I'll call her.
B: KEEP HER AWAY FROM THE CONNECTION!

"Casted out of paradise"

A song rang throughout the inner chamber of Balthazar's crawl space. It was a funky beat that hasn't been made in recent years.
"Dance to the plastic beat, I know that's plastic loveeeeee!"
"What's that?"
Shinji asked, confused by the tune of the song. He looked around for the source of the song before noticing Naoko's breast pocket vibrating as well.
"That's Casper! She chose this song!"
Naoko blurted out before sliding open and answering the phone.
"Hello?!"
"Creator? It is I, Casper. We know you are stuck inside and we are trying to reason with her to release you both."
Casper's voice is feminine and a bit sultry, resembling a younger sounding Naoko. Naoko let out a sigh of relief and pulled Shinji closer who was crying. He was scared of everything going on.
"I was trying to diagnose Balthazar and talk to Shinji, but then she closed us in!"
"Don't worry, We have an estimated time of 12 hours of oxygen with full fans and 24 with low. You should be fine until then."

Kaji paced around while Misato looked on. He was lost in thought about how they can mechanically open Balthazar without damaging it or shutting it down.
"What if we… No…"
Misato huffed and approached him, obviously annoyed.
"Why are you overthinking this so much? Let's just dig around it!"
Kaji shook his head before answering her.
"There are too many wires running through here… It would cut off power to…"
Brainblast.
Kaji snapped his fingers and pointed to Ritsuko, who looked confused.
"Ritsuko, Any chance we could Individually power off a MAGI?"
She gave it some thought before giving her piece.
"Possibly but it's connected directly to HQ's reactors. You'd need someone to go and reset the breakers."
Kaji nodded before speaking. This is a good idea. But before he could volunteer another deeper voice spoke.
"I'll go with him."
Ritsuko was almost shocked to see the Commander volunteer to do something. She would've expected him to just stay nearby and watch.
"Ikari?" Fuyutsuki asked, standing nearby.
"I'm going to go help them both. You stay here and make sure nothing bad happens."
Fuyutsuki was also shocked to see this type of behavior. 13 years of them working together and not once (besides earlier) Has he seen him so worried for his Son and others.
Inner
Casper soon hung up to try and negotiate with Balthazar, and left the mother and son to their own devices.
"Shinji… Do you remember what the MAGI are based on?..."
Naoko asked casually, just trying to make conversation with the frightened child.
"You… You based them all on your personality… A Mother, A Scientist, and A Woman…"
He was still sniffling but coherent enough to be understood. Naoko nodded and ruffled his hair, to which he chuckled and tried to fix.
"That's right. Melchior is the scientist in me, Cool, calm and collected, always trying to find the logic and patterns in stuff. Casper is the woman in me, Quick, Resourceful and Cunning, she always tries the human approach when thinking…"
She paused for a moment, trying to collect herself.
"And then Balthazar, The mother in me… The last time I did a personality transfer to her was 3 years ago. right after your birthday. She is always caring and looks out after others. She sees everyone as children she needs to protect…"

"But a mother will also fight to the very end to protect their young… They will kill others just to make sure their child is safe and happy… I would do the same if need be…"
She turned Shinji sideways and laid his head on her lap. Running her fingers through his hair.
"Shinji, you know I will always love you… But you can't hold onto me forever…"
He nodded slowly. Ashamed of his actions.
"I know…"

"I'll tell you what. If you ask one of the girls out, they don't even need to say yes, I'll both unground you and I'll take you and Ritsuko somewhere special."
She had a hint of teasing in her voice which made Shinji giggle a bit.
"I'll… Try…"
She giggled and kept rubbing his head.
"So, Do I get grandchildren with Red or Blue hair?"
"Moommm… Hehe, I don't really know… I've liked Asuka for a while, but at the same time I've known Rei for forever…"
"You know, you don't have to go on a single date. You could go on both and figure out this later. You just need to find the right one. Don't let what others say affect that choice. Hell, I wouldn't really care if you dated a man. I just want you, and you alone to be happy with your choice."

Shinji thought about it for a moment before sighing.
"Well, Just to don't let the other know… That could lead to some jealousy between the two unless you tell them that you're testing things out."

REACTOR LEVEL
Kaji and Gendo walked down the near endless industrial looking halls insearch of the master breaker switch.
"So, You've changed. Before I came you used to be such an ass."
Gendo twitched for a moment before sighing.
"If I tell you the reason why, will you shut up?"
Kaji chuckled.
"It's better than doing dirty work. Tell me."

"I did it for Yui. I was drinking, and she came to me… Told me to… Move on…"

"Sounds pretty direct. Why now?"
Gendo shook his head.
"I don't know. Look, we're here."
He pointed to a toughened security door with a keycard reader next to it. A sign next to it read:
Master Breaker
Authorized personnel only!
Gendo walked up and pulled out a keycard. He slid the card through the reader, opening the door.
The room was rather warm and humming to the frequencies of thousands of voltages running through here. All 60 hertz.
On the wall was a red phone tied directly to the command bridge.
"Go and find the breaker to Balthazar and I'll call the bridge. Wait for my instructions."
"Aye."

Naoko looked around for anything she could try to do. She looked at her phone and called Ritsuko.
"Ritsuko dear, what are your plans for getting us out of here?"
Shinji laid asleep on her lap as she spoke softly.
"We are planning on cutting the power to Balthazar, we think it's the only way to release the locking clamps and turn off the servos."
"What?!"
She almost yelled before lowering her voice again.
"What? It's going to be very hard to start her up again after this."
"We don't think it will be wise to activate her for a few weeks. We need to do this to get you two out. Gendo and Kaji are at the breaker, just give us the word and we will trip the breaker."

She looked down at Shinji and looked up.
"Throw it."

C: They are going to shut you down Balthazar, give up!
B: NO HE IS MINE!
M: You're hopeless Balthazar. Good luck being shut down.
B: NO!

MAGI BALTHAZAR HAS BEEN DISCONNECTED
REASON: SCART POWER LOSS
The humming of the hardware began to shut down and quickly went silent.
The sounds of pumps came on as the MAGI's hydraulics came on.
The MAGI began to rise up and allowed fresh air to enter the crawlspace.
Naoko quickly tapped Shinji's shoulder to wake him up.
"Shinji wake up!"
He hazily woke up and rubbed his eyes.
"Huh?.."
"We've been saved."
SOOO… I've been on a roll lately with writing these chapters. I want to tell a story, and I want to tell the story my way. Not with others' wishes. Because the best stories defy expectations!
