It was a cold winter evening in Gotham and all through the city, not a single creature was stirring, not a citizen or an officer and NOT even a villain. However, not all was peaceful in the city tonight as Gotham was once again bearing witness to another intense battle between good and injustice.

In the streets of the city, while many people tried to sleep or enjoy the festive holiday season that was upon them all again, a lone muscular figure clad in black found himself battling his worst enemies alone. This was Batman, the Dark Knight, secretly known as the famous billionaire Bruce Wayne. And tonight, his arch-enemy The Joker was up to no good again, along with The Penguin and The Riddler.

Joker had been setting up a bomb in city square with Penguin & Riddler's aid and they'd taken Commissioner Jim Gordon hostage alongside his daughter Barbara Gordon –secretly Batgirl. The police chief and Barbara were tied up to a lamp-post next to the bomb, dreading their impending doom.

"You can't beat us, Batman!" Joker taunted as he tossed a bomb at Batman, "You have only four minutes until this city will be a crater upon which we will create our evil funhouse."

Commissioner Gordon called out to the Dark Knight, "BATMAN, you must hurry!"

Knowing there wasn't much time left, Batman pulled out his Bat-Smoke Grenades and threw them at his three enemies. The grenades exploded and smoke blanketed the area, making both Joker, Penguin and Riddler cough. This gave Batman enough time to reach Joker's bomb, he tore it open to find multiple wires inside. As the time ticked away ominously, Batman guessed the right wire and snapped it.

"SHIT, OUR BOMB HAS BEEN DISABLED!" Penguin quacked with outrage when the smoke cleared and the villains were able to see what the Dark Knight was up to, "Damn you, Batman!"

Joker broke out into mad laughter and glared at his intimidating foe with a villainous smile. "Oh, Batman." He sneered, "You may have disabled our bomb, but we have a backup on our hands. If the bomb can't detonate on its own, we'll just have to do it a different way."

"Riddle us this." The Riddler remarked as he reached into his pocket, "What is grey and flat as a book, makes beeping sounds and has a feature that receives signals and has a red button on it?"

Batman put the pieces together as quickly as he could while Joker and Penguin reached into their own pockets too. "A remote control." The Dark Knight answered, the three villains laughed deviously and whipped out a pair of remotes with big red buttons on it. Knowing that the remotes could still detonate the bomb, Batman swiftly whipped out his ever-useful Batarang and threw it as hard as he could.

SMASH! The remotes were broken and fell out of the villains' hands, its pieces scattering on the ground and all electronic activity ceased while Joker, Penguin & Riddler could cry out with defeat.

With the battle at an end now, Batman punched each villain in the face and knocked them out cold. Then he whipped out a bundle of rope from his belt and tied up the evil duo before setting to work on untying the Gordons, which Batman did effortlessly. In seconds, Barbara and her father were free.

"I can't thank you enough, Batman." Jim said as he shook Batman's hand, "For a short moment, it almost seemed as if we were done for and you wouldn't save Gotham this time, but you did. So, I gladly thank you for saving me as well as my precious daughter." He looked at the incapacitated villains, who were struggling against the bonds of the Bat-Rope. "Now let's get these devious loons back to prison."

The police commissioner pulled out a radio and contacted the police while Batman headed off to the Bat-Mobile just before police cars arrived on the scene to collect The Penguin, Joker & Riddler.

And by the time the cops got there, Batman was driving his way back to the Batcave and Wayne Manor. Now that the city was safe again, he could have a peaceful Christmas as Bruce Wayne. He drove his way through the countryside outside the city, following the road leading up to the mountainside where Wayne Mansion was until he found the trail that was just next to the cave.

Driving carefully as usual, Batman drove off the road and through the bushes, past a few oak trees and riding under several branches. The Bat-Mobile glided towards the dark entrance of the cave and left the winter-covered landscape behind, plunging into the shadows towards its driver's destination.

Illuminating lights activated, lighting the way through the cavern. Batman pressed a button and Christmas lights activated, the festive decorations welcoming him with vibrant radiance.

The cavern got larger by the second and more metal coverings began to cover the road and cave ceiling. Many minutes later, the main interior of the Batcave appeared and Batman slowed down the Bat-Mobile before cutting the engines as the car came to a soft halt and he exited his ride.

Batman pulled out a remote and pressed a button, activating the locks and ensuring his Bat-Mobile was secure. With that taken care of, there was nothing else to worry about, except…

"Welcome home, my brave knight of mortal men."

Batman turned and his heart began to thump intensely, she was here. Diana Prince, Wonder Woman and Amazon Princess of Themyscira, sat next to the Bat-Computer, wearing her revealing trademark outfit and golden red-star tiara with the Lasso of Truth at her side.

For a second, the superhero billionaire was surprised. But as loved filled his heart, Batman removed his mask, revealing the ever-handsome face of Bruce Wayne. "Diana..." He breathed, "You're here."

Diana stood up and approached Bruce with a kind smile, swaying her shapely hips in an alluring manner. "Of course I'm here, my brave and loving Bruce Wayne." She said, "And why wouldn't I be here to see you on a time such as Christmas." Wonder Woman walked up to the man she loved and threw her arms around his neck, pressing her slender body against Bruce's manly stature while doing so.

For a minute, Bruce thought back to what he'd gone through; he thought of the night he lost his parents and the day he became Batman, every single memory flooded his mind all at once.

Memories of his time with Wonder Woman rose to the surface; Their first meeting, the day she joined the Justice League and the times she and Bruce had fought side-by-side. Then he thought of their confession and their first kiss, their first date and all of those days she'd been here for him.

"Is there something troubling you, Bruce?"

The sultry voice of Diana brought Bruce back to the present and he looked into her eyes again, his hands were grasping the Amazon's hips now and Bruce was holding the Wonder Woman even closer to him.

"Nothing's wrong." Bruce replied with a chuckle, "It's just that I'm very happy to see you right now."

Just then, a small white speck dropped onto Bruce's nose and another fell on Diana's. They wiped the specks off and looked up, spotting a leaf growing on one of the stone stalactites in the Bat-cave. The leaf was covered in traces of ice and a few tiny ornaments, both heroes then noticed more leaves appearing on the stalactites. It was almost like magic, the magic of winter, the magic of Christmas

Bruce and Diana looked at one another and chuckled lightly. "Mistletoe in the Batcave." The superhero billionaire remarked, "Damn, that's never happened with us before..."

"Merry Christmas, Bruce 'Batman' Wayne." Diana whispered.

Hearing the words warmed Bruce's heart the same way an 'I love you' would. "And happy days to us all, Diana 'Wonder Woman' Prince." The fearless caped crusader replied.

"I love you…"

With their hearts beating in unison like never before, the intrepid heroes publicly known as Batman and Wonder Woman leaned in and embraced one another in a romantic kiss under the mistletoe. They kissed gently, then it became a fierce make-out session with Diana seductively rubbing Bruce's muscular torso while Bruce rubbed a hand upon her smooth and womanly back.

Nearby, the Dark Knight's butler Alfred Pennyworth watched with a tray in his hand before he decided to head back up to the mansion to leave "Master Bruce" and "Madame Diana" be. 'Young love.' Alfred thought, 'May their days be full of optimism.'

Down in the Bat-cave, Bruce and Diana continued to make-out and considered going a bit further until a loud explosion of rocks shook the Batcave. Bruce put his mask back on and became Batman again while Wonder Woman drew her sword, the source of the explosion made itself known quickly. A large muscular figure dropped down into the Batcave and stepped out of the mist, revealing himself to be...

"OH HO HO!" Bane howled, glaring at Batman through the red eyes of his mask while he flexed his muscles in an intimidating way, "It's been nearly forever since we last battled, Batman! Now, I have broken free of Arkham's grasp to break you and everyone you love! HA HA HA HA HA!"

Wonder Woman and Batman looked at each other, knowing that this night would be something they were not going to forget easily. They were going to defeat Bane and defeat him together.

"Come at me, weaklings!" Bane shouted boldly, "I am stronger than ever and no one shall stand a chance against Bane, the man who broke the Bat and shall be the bane of happy holidays around the ever-so-fair city of Gotham!"

Bane leaped into the air with his fists raised, ready to unleash his full strength. Batman and Wonder Woman saw the looming shadow over them and scurried out of the way before Bane came down, creating a dent-sized crater in the floor and shaking the Batcave. Small rocks fell and dust flew, Bane glared at the superheroes with a sinister smile that was obscured by his own mask.

"We have to make sure he doesn't wreck the Bat-Cave and the mansion." Batman said warily.

Hearing the man of her heart loud and clear, Wonder Woman drew the Lasso Of Truth and nodded. "Agreed." She said, "We'll work together and subdue him before he causes any further damage."

"FEAR THE MIGHT OF BANE!" Bane howled like a gorilla and beat his chest as he did so, a poor attempt at even daring to emulate one of nature's most well-known animals in the wild. Bane glared at the united duo facing him, awaiting their move.

Wonder Woman took to the air with her well-known flight powers and swooped down towards the towering venom-infused criminal, she twirled the Lasso of Truth and flew higher to avoid being swiped down by Bane before letting her Lasso fly and the rope wrapped around Bane's shoulders. "Foolish woman, you cannot subdue me like this!" Bane remarked with a growl.

"A lesson to be learned, Bane." Batman said to his fierce foe as he approached him confidently, "Never underestimate a capable woman, especially an Amazon like Wonder Woman."

Bane struggled to break free from the bond of the Lasso of Truth, even as the magical rope seemed to tighten around him despite his brute strength. Wonder Woman flew in and kicked Bane in the head, phasing him slightly. "URGH! You shall not best me, I AM STRONGER THAN ANY OF YOU!" He raged.

Diana and Bruce nodded at one another again, knowing that defeating Bane was going to prove him wrong one way or another, even if he had broken Batman in battle before.

Thinking and acting fast, Batman grabbed some Bat-Rope and tied it around Bane. At this point, the two heroes were subduing the big brute with the Lasso of Truth and Bat-Rope combined. The heroes pulled with all of their strength while the rope strained under the pressure from restraining a strong being, which was nearly hard to achieve since Bane could've broken free any time.

Yet, despite the odds, Batman and Wonder Woman pulled hard enough and Bane fell flat, unable to break free from the ropes bonding him.

Knowing they had almost succeeded, the two heroes came down on the villain and began beating him up, pummeling Bane into further submission. Wonder Woman punched and kicked Bane intensely, hitting him everywhere while Batman repeatedly bonked him in the face.

"URGH!" Bane groaned; he couldn't take it anymore. The two heroes kept up the pressure until, finally, the villain caved in and lay still. No words, no resistance, he was out of commission.

Wonder Woman came to Batman's side and put her arm around him, the two heroes smiled at each other and took notice to some Mistletoe that had just landed on Diana's head. They embraced in a romantic kiss of victory, knowing that their Christmas so far was turning out to be the best. Not only did they just defeat a villain like Bane, but their bond was as strong as ever and unbreakable.

Clean-up was very simple since the fight wasn't too destructive, Diana hauled off the heavy Bane to Arkham Asylum and returned in a matter of minutes while Bruce got Alfred to sweep the floor.

Once the Bat-cave was cleaned up, Bruce and Diana decided to retire to the bedrooms and changed out of their superhero outfits. A short while later, the two were in bed together in one another's arms with Diana atop Bruce, making out passionately and enjoying the best Christmas gift of all; Their own love...

The End
