True Love for the Wealthy
Chapter 2: Rebecca's Next Workday
The following Monday, Rebecca is at work. She's in Monty's office, as he had called for to come to him. Monty is currently flirting with his lover, saying things like, "Oh Rebecca you make me so happy.", "I want to be with you forever.", and other flirty things. Rebecca flirts with him. He stands up, walks from behind his desk, and pulls out a box. He goes over to the front of his desk, takes Rebecca's left hand. "Rebecca, you are the most wonderful woman. I want to marry you in the future." He then opens the box to reveal two silver hooped ear-rings, and this makes Rebecca smile and tell him, "Oh Monty! You're wonderful too."
Thirty minutes later, Rebecca is back at her sector with Carl, who says, "So how are things between you and Burns?" She smiles and tells him that things are going amazingly. He tells her that he's happy for her, also stating that Burns is starting to change his work ethics. Rebecca asks what he means, and he says, "Y'know, he's giving us more breaks, more donuts and coffee, and he even cares about the workers."
Meanwhile in Mr. Burns' office, he's talking to Smithers, saying, "Smithers, is there a really fancy resturant in this lazy town?" Smithers tells him, "There are a few, sir. Would you like me to tell you about them?" Monty shakes his head, "That won't be necessary, Waylon." Monty goes over to his bookshelf, telling Smithers, "I thought I'd never find true love. When I lost Lyla that's what led me to believe that no woman would ever love a selfish man." Smithers reminds him about Gloria, he scoffs at this, "That woman left me for some criminal!"
