Street Cat Chapter 1: Life As A Criminal, a miraculous: tales of ladybug & cat noir fanfic

If you have not read Feline Criminal, please read to understand. This is a prequel of Cat Noir's life as a criminal he's done for a year. He's not evil or heartless but he can't show his soft side as a sign of weakness. He doesn't hate Ladybug, he just doesn't feel like a hero anymore but he still cares about her. He just can't go to anyone to hide himself because his father will find him anywhere and the only way to remain hidden is to become a criminal to survive on the streets by stealing like a cat burglar.

I know Cat Noir would never become criminal in the show but cat burglar does exist when it comes to thieves wearing black or a catsuit to blend in the shadows.

I used to be a superhero cat but now…I'm not anymore. The dark path wasn't the best choice I had to go to but the only choice to hide from my father who is not a father to me. He's a monster. That old life is over and this alley cat has become a cat burglar.

Right now as Cat Noir, struggling to survive in this abandoned warehouse while reading the grimoire spellbook containing spells, magic, and potion-making. There's gotta be a spell to protect me from an akuma. I can't let my father find me and take my miraculous.

I turned each page until I found what I needed, "Bingo."

It was an ancient Chinese spell that was hard to make out. Thank god I know Chinese but I'm a little rusty with ancient Chinese.

"I hope this works" I took a deep breath and said the incantations. As I said it right, the spell magic went around me for a few seconds like the wind twirling me with a cold breeze. Once it's over I felt no different. Did it work?

One way to find out if Shadow Moth finds me. And the only way to do that is to rob stores so that he can find me.

"Better watch out, father. This cat grew deadly claws" I said to myself as I hid the spellbook in a safe so no one can find it. I'm gonna need something to secure my secret lair but I'm gonna have to put that on hold.

I came to a bed store late at night because I've been sleeping on the hard ground that got me very sore for a whole week. 3 days ago during my first robbery at the jewelry store, Ladybug now knows I'm a criminal and she wasn't happy about that but she doesn't know why.

I searched for a good small king-size bed that I can steal. It won't be easy but I can make one if it comes with parts.

"This one will do." I found the one I'm looking for. I got on it to test if it's comfy and soft. So puuuuurrrrfect. Meow. Hmmm…how am I gonna carry it like this? Ah! I remember the incantation spell from the mouse page. I can shrink it like a toy size. That should be easy. I cast the spell on the bed and it shrunk to the size of a toy.

"Puuuurrrfect" I smirked and put it in the zipped pocket of my catsuit. Suddenly, I hear wings fluttering and when I turned around, an akuma was flying towards me which nearly got me scared but I stood still. Just as it was about to get in contact with my miraculous ring, it bounced back like a shield. It worked!

"Aww….how sad." I chuckled that it's trying to keep coming back since it senses my anxiety, it still can't go through the protection spell magic around me, "It seems you can't get me this time, Shadow Moth" I said as I know he's been standing behind me the whole time.

"You're strong, my son. But not strong enough" He said behind me and I turned around to face him.

"I'm younger, father. I'm nothing like you but you made me insane." I smirked and clawed his chest.

"ARGH! You dare to strike me?!" He screamed and I saw the claw marks on his suit.

I tasted his blood from my claws. I don't know why I'm doing that but I think cats do that when they are wild and savage, "What's the matter? Scared? Petrified? How does it feel getting backstabbed?!" I tried to claw him again but he jumped out of the way. Coward!

"We'll meet again Cat Noir!" He cried out before leaving.

I growled and ran out of the exit door only to find him gone. That's right, father! You better run while you can! You're no match for this feral cat!

"Run while you can, father. I'll make you pay for isolating me" I said coldly.

The next day, I never felt so good to finally sleep on a comfy bed in an abandoned warehouse. Plagg also slept well too, especially having Camembert cheese that I stole too so he can feel charged up. I can't use cataclysm this time, so I guess I'll have to use claws and my baton.

"That father of yours can't get you this time. But when are you gonna fight him again?" Plagg asked as he swallowed his cheese.

"When I'm ready. The scratch attack I gave him was a message, not an attack" I said, looking at myself that my trademark clothes are worn out. Looks like I'm gonna have to change my identity. I'm not a model anymore. It's time that I find a new style, something that made me look emotionless and fierce. I know, the goth store has just what I need. Mostly everyone thinks goth people look creepy and weird but that's the best option I can do. Plus, black help me blend in the shadows.

"Plagg, I need clothes. It's risky but Paris needs to know that I'm not a hero. Ladybug will try to stop me but I can't harm her" I said, removing my white sleeveless jacket since it's torn. Throwing it at the metal bin.

"Alright then. Are you sure about it?" He asked hesitantly.

"I'm 100 percent sure, Plagg," I said.

"You know she'll hate you. The cops will try to arrest you" Plagg said with concern.

"Let them try. Plagg, claws out" I transformed into Cat Noir, grabbed my backpack, and head out of my lair and onto the rooftop. It's a very cloudy day, that's great. Just the way I like it. Running on all fours, jumping from the roof to the other. No more cataclysm this time. I can't risk revealing my secret identity to the public.

Ah, there it is. The store was filled with black clothes of punk, goth, and bikers. Meow! Now I just need to make an evil act so I don't hesitate nor show my good side. But I can't harm the innocents but I can harm bad guys.

I jumped down near the entrance and casually walked inside, frightening the customers and workers. I can smell fear, puuuurrrfect. I spot the security camera and I extend my staff to destroy the camera as well as the rest.

"Meow. So much black. It matches my fur. Better yet, it matches darkness" I laughed and destroyed the lights to cause total darkness, making everyone scream frantically since they can't see but I can.

"That's right! Scream! Fear the cat!" I made an evil laugh which I shouldn't be doing but I have to show them I'm not a hero. I'm sorry people. I truly am.

I looked around to see what I can steal. Ah, leather fingerless gloves, that's fancy. And this leather vest, ah yes, and this leather jacket too. I need something to cover my hair. Ah, a black beanie would do; I grab a few black clothes and stuffed them in my backpack. Black jeans I'll need too. Black converse sneakers, I'm gonna need them too. Good riddance of the Gabriel brand clothes that I hate! No one can see what I got because it's dark inside the store. I hear the police sirens coming. I gotta get out of here now! Ladybug will show up for sure to stop me!

"Have a nice day," I said before leaving.

I need to hide! Ah! The sewers! I quickly ran into the alley and found a manhole cover, "Perfect!" I smirked and opened the lid to get down there but I was tackled by someone and we landed hard down the sewers tunnel. Ow! That hurt!

"GET OFF ME!" I pushed someone off and looked to see its Ladybug.

"Missed me, Kitty?" Ladybug said.

"I thought I told you to stay out of my way!" I jumped back to my feet.

"What can I say? Cats are adorable whenever I see one" Ladybug chuckled.

"This cat is very feral with dangerous claws, milady. I don't like being petted" I said coldly to intimidate her, "I don't wanna fight you," I said as I put my backpack on.

"Neither would I with my ex-partner." Ladybug was not scared.

"Then let me go. It's that simple." I said as we circled while talking.

"What were you stealing? Money?" She held her yoyo up.

"Just some clothes I need for my closet," I replied.

"Clothes? Seriously?" Ladybug laughed to think I'm a lousy criminal, I got angry.

"This isn't a joke, milady! I'm homeless and living on the streets! I can't believe you!" I made my way to leave by going to where the waterfall of the sewer since it's the only way out that leads to the river canal.

"Have it your way!" Ladybug went the other way.

Why do I even try to impress her? She obviously has no way of taking my feelings seriously. She's so insensitive. I came to where the sewerage water leads to the waterfall of the tunnel. I jumped down and used my baton to help me breathe underwater. I swam to the drainage that leads to the river canal, the same one where Ladybug and I fought those scarlet akumatized victims, Animan and Syren.

I came out of the river and saw a biker with a Ducati. I smirked in an idea as I quietly sneak up to steal his bike while he's just smoking a cigar. I may be underage but I've seen how it's done. I got on and start the ignition which startled the biker.

"HEY, THAT'S MINE!" He yelled.

"Not anymore!" I drove away.

While I was driving, three police cars started chasing after me, the sirens blarings.

"Come and get me!" I taunted them while they were pursuing me. I drove up on a truck's trailer and landed on the other side. I turned over to the right and the police cars went there too. But soon I saw a construction site on the road and used a board to drive up on to jump over the hole in the road, making the cops stop right there.

Suddenly an invisible arrow hit the Ducati's back wheel, "Mime?" I turned to see Mime, one of the akumatized villains I used to fight with Ladybug.

Oh great! He's riding a mimed invisible moped or something. Shadow Moth is after my miraculous this time! Not gonna happen!

"You're not getting it that easily!" I drove away from Mime, luckily, I didn't get a puncture. He can chase me all he wants but it's not my problem to deal with akumas anymore. Ladybug can do this on her own. I pulled the throttle at full speed as I saw Ladybug arrive at the scene.

"Sorry Ladybug, you take care of him!" I drove past her.

"YOU SCAREDY-CAT!" She shouted in anger but I just chuckled at that. Her cute angry pout never gets old.

I arrived at my lair and transformed back to Adrien. I put the backpack on the bed so I can try on the clothes since my trademark clothes are dirty and worn out. No more being the naive boy again.

Once they were on, I looked at the mirror. I look very depressing with a lot of black but I gotta move on with a new style. I look very badass and very creepy, "I look great."

"You look like a depressing vampire!" Plagg complained.

"I'd say a gritty one," I replied.

"Good news is that I don't see any Adrien on the outside. Bad news, everyone thinks that Adrien has disappeared" Plagg said, munching on his cheese.

"And that's what I want everyone to believe. Time for a test and I need to eat something since I did pawn stolen jewelry and got money. Goth Adrien is not a criminal" I said and I made my way out of the abandoned warehouse but I gotta be careful from savage animals like street dogs and rats lurking around. But one thing I feel bad about I abandoned my best friend Nino and the others I was friends with. There's no going back. If they know I'm alive, my father will find me for sure and put everyone I love in danger. He thinks having friends gives me bad influence which obviously that's a lie.

I came to a Chinese restaurant and I see Su-Han as an undercover or whatever, serving Chinese food to customers. He's probably learning about modern life I guess but he's still strict with the rules of the miraculous since he's the celestial guardian.

I took a seat and looked at the menu of what they had. I can try noodles and some Kung Pao Chicken.

"May I take your order?" A waiter asked.

"I'll have Kung Pao chicken and some noodles." I pointed at the menu.

"Ok then. And the drink?" He asked.

"Just a glass of water," I said.

Minutes later, I got my food and my drink. So hungry I am today. Especially the other night I robbed food and Ladybug helped rather than stop me. Maybe she did realize I needed food to survive. She does show care for me but it's obvious that she's heartbroken that I became a bad guy. I ate my food using my chopsticks like the Chinese tradition.

At least I'm not eating like a beggar but eventually, with all this surviving on the streets, I know for sure I'm gonna eat like an animal. I can't lose my sanity. I ate as quickly as possible due to my cravings. I hate eating small meals with my father. Then I called for the check and gave the euros I had.

After exiting the restaurant, I hid in the alley to transform into Cat Noir. I did a wall jump to head to the roof so I can head back to my lair. But then, my cat ears twitched that Shadow Moth is here again. Grrr! That coward is so obsessed with miraculous! Why does he want mine and Ladybug's miraculous?! To wish to take over the world?! He has no morals.

"Shadow Moth! I told you to stay out of my life! I'll claw your throat if you touch my ring!" I threatened him without even looking at him as I extract claws. I don't care if he's my father but he doesn't act like a real father to me.

"That sounds low even for you to say." Shadow Moth said and slowly walks up.

"I'm not the hero everyone remembers now, so I can use my claws when I want to," I said and backed away.

"I saw the news you're a cat burglar. That's an evil activity for you that's way too innocent to become" He said.

I hissed like a cat to tell him to back off, "Hmph! You know nothing about me! I spent my whole life being treated like a puppet by you! And for what?!" I punched the chimney wall and it was smashed into debris, "So that you can neglect me and keep me isolated like I'm nothing to you while you're busy terrorizing Paris?!"

"You know I've spent years to bring your mother back!" He replied.

"Mom wouldn't like it one bit when she learns your actions!" I said and ran up to him to claw his face but he moved out of the way, "STAY STILL!" I snarled.

"You wouldn't dare again!" He struck me hard with his cane.

"Agh!" I fell down but rolled to the side to dodge the strike and I kip-up to stand, laughing insanely, "Who's a better villain now?!" I tried to claw him but he still keeps moving too much.

"You see son, you're nothing without Ladybug!" Shadow Moth replied.

"I don't even need her!" I lunged at him, grabbed his cane, and snapped it in half with my upper left leg, "Run while you can, Gabriel Agreste" I tossed the broken pieces of the cane aside.

"So be it." Shadow Moth leaves me but he looks back, "But mark my words, you won't survive alone for long."

"Watch me. I'll survive without a parent" I said and pole-vaulted out of here.
