Chapter 2: The Night Before the Exam

"How could you beat me here? I've been living here for 6 years and you still reach the Castle before me. How'd you even know where to go?" Ven said still annoyed he lost to Sora. The others follow behind him who were just as surprised that Sora managed to beat Ven. Sora shrugged and said, "I have no idea. It just felt like the way to go, like I've been here before."

"Have you?" Ven asked, raising a brow.

"I don't think so. I'm pretty sure this is my first time here." Said Sora. "Well… okay. So did you come from anyway?" Ven asked.

"Well me and Riku, we come from a world called the Destiny Islands, Kairi grew up with us there but she actually came from a different world." Said Sora. He didn't think it couldn't hurt to at least tell them where they came from. "Really, how did you guys meet you then?" Asked Aqua.

"Sora and Riku were on the island off the coast of the mainland when they found me on the beach. I was scared and confused, Sora comforted me while Riku went to get their parents. When I calmed down, I realized I had no memory from where I was from before then." Said Kairi.

"Guess that makes two of us. I can't remember where I was from either before my old master brought me here." Said Ven. Terra just smiled, "Huh, small worlds. Anyways, how did you guys know she was from another world?"

"Sora and I heard of an old legend that a kid left the Islands to become stronger. We guessed that's where she came from when no parents came looking for her. Sora and I promised that when we got older we would make a raft and explore the worlds together and find her family." Said Riku.

"I don't think you three would've gotten too far with just a raft." Aqua laughed.

"Yeah, we didn't think that far ahead when I finished that Raft." Said Riku as Sora glared at him,

"Hey, what do you mean 'when YOU finished the raft?!' Kairi and I helped too!"

"No, you two just got the supplies and food while I did the actual building. Then you just took a nap the moment we started Sora, while Kairi is just as lazy as you are, preferring to watch to play sleeping beauty with your lips." Riku said with a smug grin, and then laughed as beet-red Kairi proceeded to hit his back, and the others laughed too. "So, looks like Ven isn't the only Sleepyhead around here now." Said Aqua as Kairi turned to her with a teasing grin.

"Yeah, but Sora's more of a Lazybum than a Sleepyhead." She added, cheekily as Terra opened the doors

"HEY!" Ven and Sora complained while their friends just laughed their heads off. they walked inside the castle. Everyone laughed and eventually Sora and Ven laughed as well. "I'll go get Master Eraqus. Then we can try to figure out who that evil Keyblade Master is." Ven said.

With that, he ran through the halls and Riku mumbled, "Good Luck with that." Terra then said, "So, how long have you three had the Keyblade."

"I had mine for almost 2 years, Riku got he's a year after, and Kairi only had hers for a few months." Said Sora. "Then you all must be pretty quick learners if you are able to learn all of those moves and become as powerful all on your own. I'm impressed." Said Aqua.

Terra also nodded and said, "Yeah, and by the way how did manage to use two Keyblades? Until now, I never thought it was possible."

"On my second adventure, I grew out of my old clothes. Three good fairies made me new magic clothes that give me even more powers. They take forever on deciding which color they wanted it to be but it's totally worth the wait." Said Sora.

Aqua noticed Terra writing this all down with a pen. "Now you care about fashion," Aqua said with a smirk.

"No, but magic clothes that give you two Keyblades is what I want when I'm Master." Said Terra. He then turned to Sora, Riku, and Kairi. "By the way, do guys mind staying to see our exam? You might pick up some tips if you ever have your own" He offered.

"Sure, we've got time. Hey and maybe after that, you guys can help us afterwards." Said Sora. Aqua smiled, "Of course. If our Master says the word, then we'll gladly join you on your quest."

"What quest would that be? Are these the three you were talking about, Ven?" They all turned to a man in white robes with Ven right next to them. "Yeah, if it weren't for them those white Nobodies things would still be here."

"In that case, you have my thanks. I am Master Eraqus." Said the Keyblade Master. Sora smiled and said, "Nice to meet you, I'm Sora. This is Ri…Master Riku and Kairi." Replied Sora as Eraqus turned to the older boy in surprise.

"Master? Aren't you a bit young to be a Keyblade Master? Who gave you that title in the first place?" Earqus asked. Riku replied, "A friend of yours, Master Yed Sid."

Eraqus's pupils and his eyes widened. "But…Yed Sid gave up his title as master years ago, has he really come back as Keyblade Master?" Asked Earqus. Yed Sid was his old friend and his old master to him and Xehanort, he told him that he's now retired himself then what happened to make his return to his place as a master. "He's still retired. However, the three of us were self-taught and he was kind enough to give us the Mark of Mastery." Said Riku.

Ven turned to Sora, "Were you three really self-taught?"

"Yep." Sora grinned,

"Wow! For wielders who never really had a master, you guys learned some awesome moves." Said Ven. HE wished he could do all the stuff Sora, Riku, and Kairi could do. Master Eraqus smiled, "Then I take it you have a message from him."

"Yes, and we have a problem. Some of this information Yed Sid wants to keep a secret." Riku said. Eraqus nodded, "Very well. Let's discuss the information Master to Master in my quarters."

Riku nodded and they left. Ven turned to the others, "In the meantime, want to find out who that rogue Keyblade Master really is?"

"And let's see if we can't, teach you how to use that armor." Aqua offered as Sora and Kairi nodded.

Riku told Earqus everything about the situation they're in and that they were in ten years from the future. "This does trouble things. I'll explain to the Yed Sid of this time so there's no confusion tomorrow."

"Thanks. We want to keep this information from getting out as little as possible." Said Riku. "Now how do we stop this Organization?" he asked.

"We just need to find these Keyholes. They're so powerful that it takes two Keyblades to lock them, fortunately, we already have six of them, Mine, My friends, and your students' keyblades. Then once we find the keyhole in each world from either time we lock it." Riku Explained.

"Good, my pupils will aid you in any way they can. But what of the worlds that are from your timeline?" Earqus asked.

"Same deal. Once lock each keyhole in a few minutes, those worlds should return to the future." Said Riku. Earqus nodded, "Very good, tomorrow after the Exam, you shall tell my pupils the situation with these Heartless and the Nobodies and how to stop them. And What of this Keyblade master of Darkness?"

"He still should be in our time, since he's past self is probably here too, but the rest of the Organization may be here too, including he's own Heartless and Nobody: Ansem and Xemnas, so we gotta be extra careful. I'll tell your students the six we already know about so they know who to watch out for. There's the Keyblade Master, his younger self, Ansem, Xemnas, Saix, Xigbar, but the other seven are still unknown," Riku explained, he neglected to tell Eraqus that one of the other seven member was really his past self.

The older Master nodded, "Alright if that is all. I should make sure everything is ready for the Exam tomorrow. If you wish, you may help Xehanort and I make our final judgment of if Terra and Aqua are ready to be master as well."

Riku nodded but at the back of his head, he felt something familiar about the name Eraqus mentioned: Xehanort.

"Xan?"

"No."

"Xander?"

"Nope."

"Xandy?"

"I don't think so."

"Xanthippus."

"No. Are these even real names?" asked Sora. "I don't know, people have weird names don't they. Do you have any other ideas on what it could be is?" Asked Ventus.

"Xehanort…" Sora's head popped up. Who said that name? It did sound familiar so he guessed. "Ummm…how about Xehanort?"

"Hate to break to you Sora but Master Xehanort is one of Eraqus's closest friends and is a respected Keyblade Master. In fact, he's coming tomorrow morning to help make the exam." Said Aqua smiling at the two boys' attempt to find out who this evil keyblade master was.

"Well, I'm sure you find out who he is eventually but It's getting late you two. We should all try to get some sleep for tomorrow." Said Terra.

"Oh, come it's not that late. What time is it anyway?" Said Sora. Ven looked at the time on the computer, "Wow, it's 12:30 in the morning. Man time flies."

"No kidding. I guess we should all try to get some sleep. Where's Kairi?" asked Sora as he looked for her, He then found her lying on the floor sleeping. "She fell asleep while you two were looking up names." Said Aqua, giggling at the sleeping girl.

"And you call us sleepyhead." Ven comments, as puts the books they were using away.

"Wow, she's beautiful even when she's asleep," Sora said to himself but then realized both Terra and Aqua smirking at him. "Did I say that out loud?"

"Say what out loud?" Asked Ven as he came back. "Yes, you did. Ah, young love. We knew what it's like right, Terra?" Asked Aqua.

"Yep, the moment you met her you just can't get her out of your head." Said Terra. "But Kairi and I are just friends." He said trying to hide his blush.

"Come Sora. You were in love with her even before you knew what love was." Said Riku as he entered the room. "Especially since you almost fell off the harbor when you saw her dress for the school dance." He smirked as Sora's face turned red and stammered hopeless as the others laughed.

"I thought Dp. Let me say that you two make a cute couple." Said Aqua.

"Uhhh…Hey, I thought we were getting ready for bed." Said Ven trying to change the subject. Sora mouthed a 'thank you' to him. "Ven's right. We stayed up long enough as it is. I"ll show you guys to your rooms. You want to take your girlfriend to her room Sora?" Said Terra with a smirk.

"Sure..." Said Sora. Then he glared at the past Keyblade Welder. "And for the record, she is not my girlfriend."

"But you want her to be." Said Terra still smirking. Sora began to blush as he picked up Kairi's bride style. With that Kairi snuggled closer to Sora and Sora blushed even harder. Terra then showed them their guest rooms smirking all the way. Aqua watched the young Keyblade Welders leaving and smiled. "Those two look so cute together." Said Aqua.

Ven turned, "What do you mean? They're just friends, right?"

"You understand when you fall for a special girl someday, Ven. Then you'll understand." Said Aqua. Then she went to bed as well. Ven just shrugged as he left for his room, he sat down and set his alarm to 6:00 am. He didn't want to miss any bit of the exam.

It was great to meet some more Keyblade Welders his age. Maybe they could all learn from each other and all become masters with Aqua and Terra one day. He began to close his eyes but what he didn't know was that there was a ghost image of a girl in white was watching over him and whispering, "It's great to finally see you awake, Ventus."

As you can see I edited this chapter too, Tell me in your comments which worlds (That were not in Birth By Sleep should appear in this) so the team's adventure can really begin.
