"Oh my. Elizabeth you look awful!"

"Thanks for that Maureen"

The bruises and swelling made Maureen's youngest sister almost unrecognisable. The side of her face not bruised was paler than Maureen had ever seen it, despite the 'Irish skin' her grandfather used to love although Elizabeth Just complained about the inability to tan. The exhaustion was evident on her face.

"Sorry Lizzie, I was just shocked. Mom told me you'd been mugged but I didn't realised you'd actually been hurt." Maureen said hugging her sister tightly, Elizabeth trying not to wince at the contact.

"Oh hi Mo," Olivia smiled walking out of the bedroom. "I'm off to work, have a good day Girls. I was going to pop home at lunchtime with sandwiches from that deli near the precinct what do you fancy?" Liv smiled and the girls gave her their order. Mo had brought candy and popcorn and popped a movie on. Clueless, a proper chick flick.

They both knew the movie almost off by heart. So they chatted through it. "You know Gillian I went to school with. She's pregnant now." Maureen gossiped. "No way. I thought she'd end up one of those crazy cat ladies." Elizabeth replied, trying her best to sound upbeat and normal. "At least with Deanna Robertson we all expected it." Elizabeth continued. "Even though she's a teen mom she seems like such a wonderful one. I saw her in the grocery store a few weeks back. She's got 2 kids now. They're adorable. I went and said hi and she remembered me from when she was in the choir with you and the children were so polite." Elizabeth smiled. "Don't be expecting any nieces and nephews anytime soon Lizzie, I always thought I'd be the first one of us to have sex but that ships already sailed with Kathleen! And we all know you're daddy's little catholic princess. No sex before marriage for his Little Lizzie love" Maureen laughed and didn't notice her sister flinch. Maureen kept up the inane chatter before looking at her sister. "You're being quiet Lizzie-Lou, is everything okay?"

"I'm just tired Mo, and my body hurts." Lizzie mumbled.

"I've got some Tylenol in my bag, let me get you some." Mo told Lizzie and gave her some pills and a glass of water.

"Thanks" Lizzie smiled at her sister. She wanted to sleep but after the nightmares and sickness of the night before she was scared, exhausted but scared.

"Elizabeth. Maureen, it's Olivia." Liv said at 1pm before opening the door so as not to scare them. Liv came in carrying a bag from a deli. "BLT for you Maureen and Cheese and ham for you Elizabeth." Liv smiled passing each of the girls a sandwich and a bag of chips. All 3 of them sat at the table. Olivia and Maureen eating their sandwiches hungrily whereas Elizabeth just picked at the bread on the top of hers. Olivia noticed but didn't mention it. Maureen was completely oblivious to her sisters struggle chatting with her mouth full to Olivia about collage. "My roommate is called Lesley and she's the sweetest. When we're going out she'll do my make up for me. She's so good at make up. And we both love iced coffee so when we're studying we'll alternate coffee runs" Maureen was telling Olivia excitedly while Elizabeth played with her food. Although she felt a little better with Olivia being there.

After less than an hour Olivia had to go back to work. She hugged both girls so he could whisper to Lizzie "if you need me, just call me, or your dad. Our phones are always on." Olivia smiled at Elizabeth who gave her a small smile back. All she wanted to do was run to Olivia and ask her not to go, but she couldn't, she was safe and Mo was here. "Liv?" She asked and Olivia turned round as Lizzie made her decision, to be brave. "See you later."

"See you later Elizabeth."

Maureen put some more movies on, but didn't seem to realise she was the only one eating the chips and candy she'd brought and set out in bowls on the coffee table. While Elizabeth had drawn her knees up to her chest, trying to concentrate on the movie rather than the reoccurring images in her head. A few hours later Maureen's cellphone rang causing Elizabeth to jump. "Yeah, I'm having a girls day with my sister...no Elizabeth...we're at a family friends place in Manhattan...sure...no Lizzie won't mind...I'll text you the address...love you too." Maureen said into the phone. "Mark's coming over in a bit." Maureen told her sister. Mark was Maureen's boyfriend, Elizabeth didn't mind him, he was always sweet to her, but her mom and dad especially, didn't like him since he wasn't a Catholic, in fact he was pretty much a devout atheist, if such a thing exists. Elizabeth felt anxiety in the pit of her stomach but tried to ignore it. She was safe, with Maureen and Mark. Despite knowing it was going to happen Lizzie jumped when Mark buzzed the front door, and then again when he rang the doorbell. Maureen answers the door and giving him a X-rated kiss. When they finally broke apart Mark came towards Elizabeth to hug her, which he had done multiple times in the past, but all of a sudden he was a tall, faceless man with light brown hair. She pushed Mark off her screaming "No, help, stop." And ran into the bathroom locking it behind her. Mark and Mo looked at each other. "What the hell's going on with her, her face is such a state too?" Mark asked. "She was mugged 2 days ago apparently." Mo told him and knocked on the bathroom door. "You okay Lizzie?" She got no reply . "Elizabeth?" Mark asked still no reply. They knocked a few more times but were at a loss. "Elizabeth, I'm going to ring Olivia okay?" Maureen said through the door. She grabbed her cellphone and found Liv's number. "Liv, Elizabeth's locked herself in the bathroom and won't come out or say anything...my boyfriend came over, sorry I should have asked you...he went to hug her, which he's done before then she totally freaked out, pushed him onto the couch yelling no then ran to the bathroom." On the other end of the phone in the precinct Olivia was worried, it sounded like Elizabeth was having a flashback. "Okay, Mo I'm coming back now. I'll be 15 minutes max." Then she turned to Fin. "Cover for me please." And back down the phone. "It might be better if you can get Mark to leave for now. Tell Elizabeth that I'm on the way and just keep reassuring her that she's safe and he's going and you're there."

Olivia's face was flushed as she ran into her apartment. She threw her bag onto the sofa a quickly kicked off her heels leaving them haphazardly strewn in the hall. She didn't even remove her coat before going to the bathroom door and knocking. "Elizabeth, it's Olivia, can you hear me honey?" Olivia asked. She got no reply but She could hear that the water was on. "See," Maureen said "why won't she say anything?"

"Mo, can you grab me a quarter off the dish of coins on the dresser and a throw blanket off the back of the couch?" Olivia asked and Maureen looked back at her confused but got what she had asked. The way Olivia's bathroom locked meant it could be unlocked from the outside using a coin. "Thanks Mo, why don't you go watch some TV and I'll check on Elizabeth." Olivia told Maureen before knocking on the door again. "Elizabeth, I'm worried about you, so I'm going to come in." Olivia unlocked then entered the bathroom. Elizabeth was sat in the tub, with the shower on, her legs pulled up to her chest, head down and it looked like she had no idea Olivia had entered the room. She looked at the naked hunched figure and realised she was shaking. "Elizabeth, you're shivering." Olivia walked over to the tub and turned off the water. It was freezing. Olivia discarded the throw blanket and picked up a towel. "Elizabeth, I'm just going to put this towel around you, you're so cold." As she did Elizabeth flinched and tried to move away from Olivia's touch. Started to hyperventilate "Elizabeth, you're safe, it's Olivia."

"Olivia?" Elizabeth gasped.

"Yes, honey I'm right here." Liv soothed.

"Is he gone? He was here Liv!"

"Yes honey, the only people in this apartment are me, you and Maureen. Let's get you out of this tub, can I help you?" Liv waited for consent, a nod from Elizabeth before grabbing her underarms and pulling her to her feet, then putting her arm round Elizabeth's waist and helped her step out of the tub. Even with the towel round her Olivia could feel how cold the teen was. "Let's get you warm sweetie." She soothed, she helped Elizabeth into the spare bedroom. The teen shaking with cold, adrenaline and fear. Elizabeth was still struggling, so Olivia helped her into some pyjamas and an NYPD hoodie, that probably used to belong to her father. "Elizabeth, you said that he was here. We're you talking about the man who hurt you?" Olivia asked once Elizabeth was warm and safe under the covers. She nodded. "Elizabeth. Is Mark the man who hurt you?" Olivia asked. "No, I don't think so. Mark was here and then as he came toward me and he changed, he became that man. I don't know what happened but I was scared, so I pushed him." Tears began to spill from Elizabeth's eyes. "Honey, it sounds like you had a flashback. He was never here, your brain was just confused." Olivia tried to explain.

"Are you mad at me?" Elizabeth asked timidly.

"No, honey, of course not."

"Is Mo?" Elizabeth asked again. Olivia looked down at her. "No, she's just concerned. Honey, no one is mad at you."

"Am I crazy? I mean mentally ill? Like Kathleen? Mom said bipolar disorder can run in families." Elizabeth started to panic.

"It's a possibility but unlikely. You have been through a traumatic experience. Flashbacks and nightmares aren't unusual honey. I know you're scared and that's okay but you're safe now honey, and at work we are doing our best to try and get the man who hurt you."

"How do I make it stop?" Elizabeth asked despite the tears "Even when I was watching movies with Mo, I couldn't get it outta my head."

"Well...time, therapy, a good support system, and hopefully being able to face the man who hurt you. Telling your truth, reclaiming your life! How about I call George Huang and see if he knows any doctors that work with teens and might be able to help?" Olivia asked and Lizzie nodded slightly, she was still feeling shaken up and still a little scared. "Do you have to go back to work Liv?" Elizabeth asked timidly.

"Not if you don't want me to, Fin is covering for me and I was only doing paperwork anyways. I've got my laptop and can catch up anytime." Liv was telling the truth, plus this was Elizabeth. Cragen would understand, Elliot's kids were almost like grandchildren to him.

"Liv, would you just stay here for a while?" Elizabeth asked, her tears beginning to slow. "Yes I'll sit with you as long as you need me to. You just rest honey." There was a knock on the bedroom door which caused Lizzie to flinch and start to panic. "Mo?" Olivia asked, reminding Lizzie who it would be then opened the door to talk to her, keeping it open so Lizzie could see her but talking quietly. "Is she okay?" Mo asked. "She's just exhausted, that's all." Olivia said diplomatically. She had to respect Lizzie's wishes for her siblings to not find out what happened. "Look I hate to leave right now but Kathleen has the dentist and mom and dad are working so I need to go home and watch Eli. Should I talk to Lizzie?"

"Maybe just leave it for now and send her a text later, she's almost asleep." Olivia lied knowing that right now Elizabeth couldn't deal with a full on conversation right now. "Okay...well...urm...give Lizzie my love yeah." Mo rambled.

"Of course. It was good to see you Maureen, honestly, and thanks for staying with Lizzie today. Give Kathleen my love too okay." She gave Maureen a hug. "Bye Liv."

"Bye Mo."

When Olivia retuned to the spare room Elizabeth had her eyes closed, so Olivia sat on the chair in the corner working on her laptop. Though she doubted Elizabeth was asleep.
