Hey everyone! Good to see ya again! This chapter concludes the USJ arc for Blood Red. Acid Pink will get the same treatment likely before Christmas. But anyways, the next three or so chapters will be diving head-first into new territory, but for more on that, see the note at the end. Enjoy everyone!

It only occurred to me as I fell that maybe leaping up to maybe fifty feet to the ground wasn't the best idea. If I didn't find a way to land softly, my big vigilante debut would be me splatting on the ground. Almost on instinct, my body twisted in the air, trying to find a way to land on its feet. As I did so, I noticed a black clad figure engaging other, more varied figures. That's probably Aizawa, but I was too busy panicking and trying not to die.
Oh geez we're gonna die!
'Trying not to do that, no distractions please!'
By sheer luck, all my twisting and motion landed my feet right on a villains shoulders, and I instinctively pushed off from him, the guy crumpling from the impact as I flipped and landed near the center of the group of villains in a crouch, about eight feet from Shigaraki himself. I drew a knife and did my best to pretend I had planned that entire thing. Looking around, it appeared I had shocked everyone, some of the villains looking down at the guy who was clearly out of commission due to my landing and others looking up at the shattered skylight I had created, a few pieces of glass having fallen just before I did and landing just around where I had initially.
Shigaraki himself was exceptionally surprised, looking like he had jumped, though it was hard to tell through the hands. He was indeed wearing the trench-coat he would be using later on, as well as what looked like…gloves? Now that was new. Shigaraki needed to be bare handed for his quirk to work. Was he concerned with life? No that couldn't be it, he wouldn't be doing that now, and certainly not later. I shook my head as I watched, trying my best to stay alert. Behind me , I heard fighting as Aizawa, who had paused in shock, resumed his assault. The villains around me tensed, but seemed wary as their leader seemed to finally regain his composure and step forward. Kurogiri shifted protectively behind him, likely ready to spring in case I made a move against his charge.
Is that mist guy his dad?
'In a manner of speaking'
I figured, he is glaring kind of protectively at you
'Yeah, not a fun feeling really'
When he finally spoke, Shigaraki's voice sounded off. It still was recognizable, but the way he was inflecting and the tempo he talked at felt different. The things he said were classic Shigaraki though.
"And what's this? A new player in the game? How did you know about our attack? And are you a new party member? Or a mini-boss like?"
I narrowed my eyes at him as I snarked back.
"What's with the game lingo? You such a nerd that you can't relate to real life?"
I twirled my knife around as I stood up, casually tossing my knife into the air and catching it.
"But since you asked so nicely…"
I turned and tossed the knife at a nearby villain who was about to attack Aizawa, and it landed in his leg with a thunk, the guy falling over with a surprised yell, which Aizawa capitalized on with a boot to the head. He looked over at me, though I couldn't see his eyes, and gave me a confused grimace. I saluted him and turned back to Shigaraki.
"I'm the secret boss. You know, the one that kicks your ass and sends you packing if you weren't prepared?"
I gave a mock bow.
"Bloodrush, nice to meet you Mr. Hand Fetish, though I doubt you'll think the same after I kick your ass."
Shigaraki made a strangled noise at the hand fetish comment before he growled out a "Make her hurt." to the villains around me. They grinned and advanced as Kurogiri disappeared. He was on his way to scatter the students, and I really didn't want that to happen. Sure, they were fine in the story, but I didn't want to chance it. I looked at the group trying my best to gage what I was dealing with.
'Okay, a mutation quirk, that looks like a transformation, and that one- oh fuck it'
That's the spirit! Stabbing time!
One of the villains grew larger and swung at me with a fist that enlarged. I quickly leapt away and drew another knife, stabbing it into his arm, and causing him to roar in pain. Hearing another come up behind me, I ducked and avoided the punch, which due to overextension, clocked the first villain and knocked him down. I swept the second villain's feet out and kicked him in the head to put him out, before turning as the rest advanced.
One of them, a guy whose fists looked like they were literally made of steel, took a few swings as he was the first to reach me, I backed away, doing my best to dodge as a few punches from those things would put me out, possibly for good. Seeing another of them approaching, I managed to turn Steel Fist away and knock him into that approaching villain, taking them both down for at least a little while.
The next four rushed me at the same time, two coming straight for me, while a lady with gun fingers and a guy who formed an energy ball in his hands started lining up shots. Lucky for me, the two melee fighters were stupid, and I easily pushed one, who had a tiger head and claws, into the energy guys projectile, taking him down for at least another while. The other, a guy with a snake head and stretchy arms, rushed me and nearly wrapped me up, before I slashed him across the face and gave him a good kick to the crotch, which lowered him enough that a boot to the face took him out. Gun Lady fired off, but I rushed her, zig zagging to make it harder for her to aim. A bullet nearly grazed my side and did manage to graze my cheek, but I got in her face and knocked her out. Energy guy tried to fire off, but I kicked him and made the ball go wide, hitting another villain that Aizawa was fighting.
By that time, Steel Fists was recovering, but I was done. I ducked any other villains as I ran and jumped up the steps to the entrance plaza, only to see the bubble of darkness dissipate, leaving just Kurogiri, Thirteen, and the remaining students. I took a deep breath and dropped out of perception. If I could grab Kurogiri, I could distract him, let Iida get away earlier. He was currently reforming as Shoji informed Iida about the fact that most of Clas 1-A had been scattered. Thirteen turned to Iida, and tasked him with escaping, I watched as Kurogiri finally reformed. He wasn't moving as the remaining class encouraged Iida, though I scoffed at Sato's mention of alarms outside.
"Yeah right. If there were alarms outside I wouldn't be here."
It was only after people's head snapped to look at me that I realized I had said that aloud. I gave a sheepish wave as Thirteen moved in front of the students and glared at me.
"Who are you? Another villain?"
I put my hands up in a non-threatening gesture.
"Whoa whoa whoa. I'm on your side. I'm a vigilante. Name's Bloodrush. Caught wind of the scheme and staked the place out in case this happened"
I pointed behind them, to where Kurogiri was.
"First, against that guy, and to give mr. white knight here time to escape."
They still seemed wary, but nodded, and I took a combat stance as Iida unfurled his engines. But then Uraraka turned to me, a concerned look in her eyes.
"We can handle this. Can you please find our classmates? I'm worried about them."
I thought for a moment, before nodding.
"Fine. But here."
I took off my gloves and tossed them to her.
"These are cling gloves. Grab him and don't let go. He's got a metal collar. Find it."
I gave her a determined look.
"I'll bring them back. You get him out of here."
Aww, but that means less stabbing.
'We can't stab him anyways, he's mist'
Oh, right.
'Besides, we might get to stab more villains as we search'
Yay!
And with that, I ran out, hoping to find some of them. I decided to go for the downpour zone, cutting across the central plaza to do so. And if I took out some villains who were harassing Aizawa? Well that was just a bonus.
XOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOOXOXOXO
I hated rain, the cold droplets pelting me making me wish I had water-proofed my costume. Why was the simulation of rain even on before the training? UA must have had some drainage system. Hell, they must have a lot of water stored up to do this in the first place. But that was neither here nor there.
The place was bigger than I thought, but was still easy enough to navigate. I heard fighting, and turned a corner, to see Dark Shadow slam some villain into a wall as Kouda knocked one over the head. I quickly ran to join them, throwing a knife into one of the villains turned back, before taking it back, and kicking him down. I turned and slashed a second across the face and then he was taken out by Dark Shadow, Tokoyami looking at me suspiciously.
I put my hands up again as I explained "I know you don't know me. I'm just here to help. One of your classmates, the one with pink cheeks? She asked me to find all of you. I'll get you out of here. Just follow me."
Apparently I was a persuasive speaker, as Tokoyami withdrew Dark Shadow, and nodded.
"Very well. I sense no evil in your heart. Lead the way."
Kouda meekly walked behind Tokoyami, seeming to agree. I rolled my eyes at the caped teen's overdramatic prose as I turned away and lead them out of the downpour zone, shaking myself off as we exited a short time later.
Once we were out, I pointed to the stairs and said "Your class is up there. Go help them if you can. I need to go find more of your class."
Tokoyami nodded as he and Kouda ran toward the area. A villain charged them, but with a single knife and a bit of Tokoyami's help, he was downed, and I ran off to my next stop, the Ruins zone.
XOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOOXOXOXO
The rubble scattered around the ruins zone was not the most fun to navigate, but I was quite nimble, so I didn't have a huge amount of difficulty finding the two students stuck here. Of course even without being nimble, that would have been easy. Just needed to listen for the explosions and yells of "DIE!"
I found Kirishima and Bakugou outside of one of the buildings and in a fight with a few villains. They seemed to be doing pretty well, too. I decided to give them the little push to finish the fight.
Kirishima and Bakugou had knocked out nearly all the villains, with one standing that I swiftly took down by sweeping his legs out from under him and giving him a good old, never failing boot to the head. Bakugou noticed me at that point and charged, sending off an explosion as he did so, though that was predictable, and I leapt away, perching up on a piece of rubble and exclaiming "Hey, I'm on your side here! Calm down Blasty"
Bakugou growled at the nickname and prepared to charge again, but Kirishima blocked him from doing so and looked to me, looking less skeptical than his friend.
"You here to help us then? Who are you though? You don't look much older than us."
I widened my eyes a little at that. First time someone mentioned that part. I composed myself as I responded back "Call me Bloodrush. One of your classmates sent me to gather everyone and make sure you were safe. Come with me so you can get back to your class."
Bakugou scoffed at that.
"Why would-"
I cut him off, not in the mood to deal with this.
"You need those extras?"
He fell silent a moment, looking shocked. I continued, unperturbed. I had an idea though and I made sure to communicate it.
"Look, you have two options. You can follow me and help me with finding your class, or you can stay here and prove yourself unheroic."
Kirishima seemed confused.
"You just said we needed to get back to our class."
I nodded.
"Yeah, but seeing how you guys handled yourselves, you were impressive. So I want you to help me, since I can't be in every place at once."
Bajugou grumbled but Kirishima smiled and pumped his fist.
"You got it! A man doesn't leave his friends behind."
I turned and began to walk.
"I admire a good example of masculinity, kid. Now let's get going."
We med it out of the ruins zone quick, and I observed the situation. Most villains in the main plaza were down, and Aizawa was fighting stragglers as Shigaraki watched. Three figures were observing from the water, Midoriya, Tsu, and…Kaminari? That was weird pointed to the landslide zone as I turned to head to the mountain zone.
"I'll take the mountain zone. You two head to the landslide zone, and once your done there, head to the conflagration zone, After that bring anyone you find back to the main entrance."
Kirishima nodded and I ran to climb the mountain zone, ignoring Bakugou's shout of "Don't tell me what to do!"
That guy seems fun
'Trust me, he's not'
XOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOOXOXOXO
Adrenaline proved useful as I climbed, only to find a path that lead all the way up. Feeling a little silly, I ran until I saw three figures holding off villains, though a few of the villains were fighting each other?
Eventually, they came into view. Jirou, wielding a sword and back-to-back with Yaoyorozu, also wielding one, as a the third figure revealed to be…Shinso, weaved between opponents, using their own strength and attacks against them. It looked a lot like how I fought, just without knives. He was in a hero outfit too, so he was obviously in the hero course this time. Things were getting screwed with, and I had no idea how. But I shook that off as I ran in, joining Shinso in the fray.
He didn't even acknowledge me, but we seemed to work around each other seamlessly, creating chaos as he, I and the villains I now saw were brainwashed fought against the rest, with the new vigor giving Yaoyorozu and Jirou the chance to push in as well, and within five minutes, the villains were reduced to a pile of knocked out bodies. It was then that Shinso spoke, voice sounding both grateful and wary.
"Thanks for the help, but who are you?"
I didn't respond as I turned to the two girls.
"You alright? No one hurt?"
Jirou responded first.
"Uh, I don't think so, right Yaoyorozu?"
Yaoyorozu shook her head.
"I am uninjured, though you may want to check on Shinso."
I turned and looked him over before walking over and examining the sword Jirou had.
"Nice blade, where'd you get it? Doesn't really fit the theme."
I turned and walked around the outskirts of the battlefield, looking hard at the ground. Shinso spoke up, sounding curious.
"What are you-"
I silenced him with my hand as I found what I was looking for. A disturbed patch of dirt. Lifting up my foot, I slammed my boot down hard onto it, hearing a muffled sound of pain as the ground shook. The jamming villain emerged, looking pissed. He didn't even get a word out as I slammed my boot into his knee, causing him to buckle, and kick to the sternum knocked him flat, before a final few kicks to the temple knocked him out.
'Not so scary without a hostage are you?'
How did he even bury himself that quick?
'I'm not sure, his quirk is electric based, so it can't be that.'
I shook my head and looked back at the three students.
"I'm here to get you back to your class. Follow me, I know a quick way down."
We got out of there just in time to see Aizawa engaging Shigaraki. I swore under my breath and turned to the three, pointing to the entrance plaza.
"Go there! I gotta go save your teacher!"
I ran the rest of the way, ignoring the surprised shouts. I could see some figures emerging from the conflagration zone as I did so, but I ignored that and raced to intervene. Aizawa would not be getting hurt, not on my watch.
XOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOOXOXOXO
Lucky for me, when I arrived Aizawa still had the upper hand. Shigaraki's gloves were still on too. Did he not want to use his quirk, even now? What the hell was going on? The two had just clashed, and separated. Shigaraki was about to charge as I threw a knife to intercept, it nearly grazing the hand over his face and making him move back, as both turned to stare at me.
I kept running, and leapt, landing in a spot right next to Eraserhead, the underground pro giving me a scrutinizing look.
"What exactly are you doing?"
I gave an irritated sigh and a look that said 'seriously?'
"Helping you fight Johnny Hand Lover here, what does it look like?"
I turned back and assumed a combat stance, commenting no further. Aizawa, with nothing else to say, did the same.
Shigaraki didn't seem all that fazed, even as Kurogiri appeared and told him Iida had escaped (guess the future Ingenium was taking his sweet ass time). Maybe it was just me, but he even seemed relieved, his shoulders slumping slightly for a few seconds. Okay, I have no clue what's happening.
'Himiko?'
Beats me. But Shigaraki is kind of cute. Without all the hands I mean.
'You can't even see his face.'
I know, he gives me mystery man vibes. Makes me want to see him and then cut him and-
'Okay, bad thoughts Himiko!'
R-right. Sorry.
I kept my internal struggles to myself as Shigaraki straightened up and exclaimed something about how it was 'game over'. I decided to snark at him.
"I guess it is. And you without any continues."
He actually laughed at that, before assuming a combat stance of his own, ready for us. Both sides prepared to clash.
To say that ice blocking us was a surprise wouldn't exactly be the truth, and the explosions that followed weren't unexpected either. Kirishima and Todoroki came rushing out from the direction of the landslide zone, while Ojiro and Bakugou came from the conflagration zone. It certainly took Shigaraki and Kurogiri by surprise, the latter getting tackled and pinned by Bakugou, as the other three rushed over to my and Aizawa's side. Todoroki and Ojiro gave me wary looks, and I just waved as Shigaraki got up from where he'd been knocked over.
"Well, guess we've got a few more mobs to fight."
We assumed combat stances again, this time four strong as Bakugou grinned ferally and told Kurogiri not to move. Aizawa looked around, before grimacing.
"You all should be with the rest of the class."
Todoroki was blunt about it.
"I'm sorry sensei, but these villains plan to kill All Might. I can't allow that to happen."
I turned and looked to the water, only to see just Tsu and Kaminari, the latter of whom gave me a wave. Midoriya was missing. And it was then that a loud yell of "SMASH!" was heard and Midoriya came flying in. There was a loud sound of impact as dust kicked up and obscured everything. Lucky for me, my mask covered my mouth and nose, but I heard coughs around as the unprotected inhaled the particles.
When the dust cleared, Shigaraki was unharmed, The Nomu having blocked the punch by moving in front of Shigaraki, who had turned at the sound. The Nomu then seized Midoriya by the wrist and lifted him to face Shigaraki. The villain eyed the greenette up and down before giving a suprising order.
"Nomu, let him go. He isn't worth enough exp to fight him."
Nomu did so, and Midoriya tumbled down, landing in a heap before joining Tsu and Kaminari in a huddle near the water. Shigaraki turned back to us, Nomus beside him.
"Now where were we."
He looked over at Kurogiri.
"Nomu, free Kurogiri."
The hulking monstrosity rushed at Bakugou, who had to let go of the warp villain to dodge the colossus's wrath. Kurogiri recovered and went to his master's side, as did Nomu. I could tell Shigaraki was smirking.
"Now, we may not be able to kill All Might, but we can make this hurt."
I dropped into a combat stance, gripping two of my knives hard. I couldn't take the Nomu, Shigaraki, and Kurogiri, but with the rest of them, maybe we could. Our two groups tensed, preparing to fight, but we didn't as a door flew open and a booming voice rang out.
"It's fine now! Why?"
I smiled. Good job Iida.
"Because I AM HERE!"
XOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOOXOXOXO
All Might was even more magnificent in person. I looked up at him in awe, but turned back as Shigaraki chuckled and looked at me.
"What was that you said about no continues?"
With one swift move, All Might had moved us all to the stairs. Todoroki walked up and said bluntly "All Might, they mean to kill you. That monster is likely how they're planning to do it."
He nodded grimly and turned to me.
"While I appreciate your help young lady, I must ask, who are you?"
I sighed.
"That's the third time I've been asked today. If you need to know, Bloodrush's the name. As I explained to the group up there, I got wind of the plans here and came to muck it up for that bozo."
I pointed to Shigaraki, who seemed miffed at that.
He nodded severely, smile gone as the rest ran up to him, including Midoriya. Aizawa took the opportunity to turn on me , giving me an appraising look as we walked up to the entrance plaza.
"You're a vigilante? Why expose yourself like this? It doesn't seem logical."
I shrugged.
"Hurting kids is wrong. And if you want to know why I'm a vigilante, well then that's a very long story."
Uraraka ran up as we approached, smiling at both of us.
"Mr. Aizawa! And Bloodrush! Thank you for helping my classmates!"
I nodded and caught the gloves she threw to me, putting them back on as she turned to Mr. Aizawa.
"Sensei, she's good. She helped us out by gathering the class after we got scattered. Plus she gave me some gear that helped Iida get away."
Aizawa nodded as he turned to me.
"You helped protect my students. That is admirable."
I nodded as I flipped a knife around casually.
"Gotta look after my fellow teenagers. Hurting kids is low."
Aizawa gave me a look.
"How old are you?"
I shrugged.
"Seventeen. Why do- whoa!"
I had to leap very quickly to dodge Aizawa's capture weapon landing near the railing on the edge of the platform, All Might's battle with the Nomu shaking things, and I saw a number of students heading down to help, against Aizawa's orders.
I turned back to Aizawa who appeared to be…concerned.
"What the heck man?"
"I can't let you risk yourself on the streets when you're that young. You need to come and turn yourself in, kid."
'Oh'
Oh what? Why is he so concerned suddenly?
'I accidentally activated Dadzawa'
Dad?
'He's very protective of children in his care, and protective of children in general. Like a dad. Or at least, how I think a dad should be.'
I don't like dads.
'Yeah, I'm aware.'
I dodged another go at me. As cool as it would be to be adopted by Aizawa, I wanted to stay independent for now. He prepared to go at me again, and likely get me (since he was a better fighter), when the doors burst open again, and the rest of the staff emerged, Iida leading them. I took the temporary distraction as an opportunity, and with a final wave to Uraraka, who had been looking on as I fought Aizawa, leapt over the railing, falling to the ground and running toward the mountain zone, where the emergency exit was supposed to be. I heard a shout from Aizawa but he didn't seem to pursue me. I didn't think that would last though, as I heard a loud yell halfway there and saw Nomu go flying through the top of the dome.
I booked it after that, and made it to the mountain zone, where I noticed something. Jirou had dropped her sword. I scooped it up and ran, finding the door quickly. Pushing it open, I was met with a mostly empty lot, and looking around, I saw my bag, sitting in a bush, likely where it landed. I grabbed it and ran, jumping a fence and running into the trees I spotted near the fence, which I hopped.
Crouching down, I changed outfits and stuffed my vigilante gear, along with the newly acquired sword, into the bag and ran off, managing to blend into a crowd I found as I emerged from the group of trees. I walked fast back to the subway, and made it back to my apartment quickly.
XOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOOXOXOXO
Stumbling into my apartment, I collapsed onto the couch after dropping my bag, the adrenaline finally running out. I passed out then and there, sleeping through most of the day, before waking up around seven in the evening. The rest of the day was spent not doing much of anything, aside from a call with Twice, who had been worried after our talk a day ago. I reassured him I was fine, and he hung up, seemingly satisfied. I fell asleep on the couch soon after.
The next, day, I woke up and saw on my phone the news reporting the USJ incident already, and the presence of the vigilante Bloodrush. No pictures, fortunately, though the police took a sketch that I thought looked sort of like me. I sat in a chair, and sipped some tea Mrs. Nakamura next door had given me. Nice older lady, lived with about a dozen cats.
Looking out the window, a single question ran through my mind. 'Now what?'
What do you mean? We keep doing what we're doing.
I found myself shaking my head a bit.
I mean we have months until the next story beat we're involved in. We've got some stuff we could consider, but for a while, we have almost nothing.
Then let's just do stuff.
Come again?
You heard me. Let's do things, no plan. Not like you can make one right now.
But-
Come on! Just try it!
Himiko's needling continued, but I considered her idea. She did have a point. I had nothing to plan for (aside from Stain, but I'd cross that bridge when I came to it.), so what did I do? I couldn't just not do things. Maybe it could be fun. To be spontaneous, just once.
Maybe you're right.
I always am!
That statement itself is wrong, but whatever. Maybe I should just do something. No plan. Or at least make a plan for later, but not now.
That's the spirit! Now what should we do?
I can think of a few things.
I looked out of my window, and watched the people going by, breathed the air in. I wasn't sure why, but agreeing to that made me feel…different, if not something else. I felt… free. For the first time in a while, I had no plan, and I would be doing things on a whim.
How about we find Uraraka when we get the chance, and make a friend?
Ooh I like her, she's cute!
Exactly. But as for the rest…
I looked over at the bag with my vigilante gear. This might be fun after all. I grinned. Time to be spontaneous.

Hope you liked the chapter. I did my best to set up the future connection between Toga and Uraraka, and some threads for Aizawa that will be followed up on in a future thing. Anyways, as I said in the top note, after this, Blood Red will be diving right into a completely original arc, one I'm fairly excited about. It'll have new characters, expand some on the elements laid down here, and have some fun character bits. So for now, I bid you adieu, but I hope you come back as Chapter Six willbe the beginning of the Black Dove Arc.
